AV COMPONENT CABLE+VIDEO

Hello,
We have bought the Component AV Cable to be able to watch video and listen music from our ipod touch.
We can listen our music from the Ipod Touch trough our blue ray system without any problem, choosing AUX option.
We tryed to watch a movie and we've got the sounds but no picture/video.We plugged the audio cable to the blue ray system (AUX) and/or to the TV(COMPONENT OPTION) and it works. We plugged the video cable to the TV and/or blue ray system and to video at all, only the sounds.
Do we need to set up the Ipod Touch to send a video signal out to our TV, if so how? cause we went to "settings" and tryed every options and no solutions.
Do we need to set up the TV? It's a LG
Thanks for your help

Hi!
Did you try going to Videos > Video Settings and Select TV Out to 'ON'?

  • IPod Nano Video-Out to TV (Via new Apple Component cable) DOESN"T WORK

It doesn't work on my nano. The sound plays fine, the video is distorted. It isn't the cable, since I have an iPod Touch that displays fine.
I've tinkered with the settings : Widescreen, NTSC, Fit to Screen, etc... none of it helps. Still shows a distorted image (like when a computer displays the wrong resolution on a screen, or the way a channel on Cable looks if you aren't subscribed to it).
Is my Nano defective? Am I going to have to rally up several other Nano users with similar issues, post it up on my blog?
    Anyone can help me?
Also, my iPod Touch doesn't display photo transitions (cube, wipe, etc) only fades.... even though I've attempted switching the settings. Only works when the component cable is disconnected. Any help on this too?

Did you check the settings on the TV itself? Are you feeding the video through a A/V receiver?
Those may also be distorting your picture.
In my case, I'm going from my Nano>Yamaha A/V receiver>Mitsubishi 65" WS TV.
Once I set my receiver up, and set my TV to standard, I was getting a distortion-free picture (at least with the "Jack-Jack" short that I got free from iTunes). My setting in the Nano were WS & NTSC. Everything was cool (I was surprised on how good the picture looked, but then my Yamaha is great for upscaling).
I don't know if this helped, but if you list a little more about your config, I might be able to assit better.

  • Video output from iPod Touch (2nd gen) via AV Component Cable (no audio)

Hi, I'm trying to output a video from my iPod Touch (2nd gen) to my TV via a AV Component Cable.
Unfortunately the audio doesn't work, I'm sure they are all connected into the right places.
The video works, but I get no audio. (And no subtitles when closed caption is on)
Here is a link to an image of the TV connections from ImageShack:
    http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/7280/img0204y.jpg
At the top left of the image, are what I assume to be the red and white audio ports, highlighted in red.
I plugged in the red and white audio connectors into those ports.
And towards the bottom are three ports, green, blue and red, also highlighted in red.
I plugged in the green, blue and red connectors into those ports.
I changed the input of the TV to Input 2, I see the video for the movie I'm watching on the TV but no audio. I tried multiple movies.
I've also tried changing the video output from PAL to NTSC and back again, turning Widescreen on and off and turning Closed Captions on and off. I also tried plugging in the red and white audio connectors into the row of ports just below the green/blue/red row, to see if that made any difference, and it didn't.
I tapped the bottom left button of the iPod Touch when plugged in to the TV and playing video and it came up with an option that was selected called ~"Audio Source: English (Stereo)"
    Any idea's? Thanks.

    Resolved... ThankYou

  • IPod Touch 2nd Gen Video Out Problem with Apple Component Cable

I'm trying to get video out working with my iPod touch connected to my TV. Here's the information.
32 GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen
    Apple Universal Dock (current version.)
Apple Component Out cable for iPod (current version that connects with a dock connector.
I've connected the component cables into the component video input on my TV. When I start playing any video (purchased off iTunes store in Standard Def,) I get a scrambled picture that appears to be the video, and no sound. I purchased the TV in South Korea and haven't gotten to test it yet on a TV back in the US. I have my video out settings with wide screen turned off and set to NTSC (South Korea uses NTSC.) I've also tried every setting combination, and switching the cable connections with the same or similar results. Sorry if a similar problem has been posted elsewhere, but after searching, I couldn't find any similar behavior. Any ideas on what might be the cause? I don't have any other component devices to check if the component on the TV is bad.

I've got that same problem: iPod Touch 2nd Gen, Apple Component Cables, and an HD TV.
The funny thing is, the cable works fine with an iPod Classic (160 GB) but not for the iPod Touch. Can anyone explain why that is?

  • Poor video quality with component cable streaming from iphone to tv

Purchased a component cable on the advise of someone at the online apple store.  I wanted to stream Netflix, You Tube and HBO GO from my iphone 4 to tv.  Both the video and audio or are terrible!  There is a constant buzz despite the fact that all connectors are tight.  The video is green, squashed and looks like a 20th generation copy of an old video tape.    HBO GO will only show the opening screen (which looks great for some reason)  but wont play at all.  Netflix and YouTube have the above issues with quality.  Is this the best the $45 dollar cable will produce?  If so, I wish they would have told me that!  Am I doing something wrong?  If not, back to the store it goes!
I have limited bandwidth and was hoping to use my 3G (which is unlimited) to avoid overages if I chose to stream movies.  Any help would be appreciated!

    Which iphone do you have?
Netflix only provides this feature for iphone 4, ipod touch 4th gen and ipad.

  • Ipod Classic doesn't play video with Component cables

I just bought a new Ipod Classic and I have it connected to my Denon receiver using the Denon dock.  I am able to play music and movies from the ipod.  But when I try to play movies thru my small LG tv (Apple red, rellow white component cable) I only get audio and only if I have it in the white docking station.  Do I need to buy the composite cables to get the video?  I do get a message stating I need to plug into a video source.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

Have tried to completely restore the iPod to factory settings and then resync the video?
    Restoring iPod to factory settings
Before you do that, try converting the video once more using iTunes' built in convert.  To do this, highlight the movie and chooose Create iPod or iPhone version from the Advanced drop down menu.  When the conversion process is finished, sync the new version over to your iPod and see if that helps.

  • Video mirroring of Ipad2 using component cable only displays videos but not home screen

I watched videos online that show that I should be able to view my ipad2 home screen and apps while I'm video mirroring on my television but I can't see anything (only hear the audio) except when I play videos or watch youtube and use apps that have the TV Out function...Is there anyway to fix it?

I mean I can only view videos that I play on my TV from my Ipad2 but other than that I can't see my Ipad home screen on TV or any other apps that I open, though I can hear the audio. I'm using a component cable. I thought that I should be able to view my home screen etc with the cable?

  • So I paid for the Apple dock and component cables to watch videos, BUT

I can only play one video at a time and cannot use the remote to forward to the next video? What?! I have to get up and go the the TV to select and play each and every single music video? Why did I need the proprietary dock to play the videos in the first place if you can't even use the remote?
This wouldn't be an issue if I could organize my music videos into playlists like I am able to with music, but can't do that either. For the cost of the dock, component cables, Touch, and the videos themselves, you'd think they'd have covered their bases on the simplest of conveniences.
Apple, please allow me to remotely forward through my videos, and
2, let me organize my music videos into playlists just like songs, and then be able to actually play the music video from the playlist.
    Thank you.

I tried this, but it doesn't seem to work on my Touch. Maybe I am mising something. But after creating music playlists with just music videos in them, when I connect to the dock and hit the video button, it just displays all of my music videos in list form. There is no option at the bottom of the screen to choose a playlist, like what you see when you are in music mode. There is also no shuffle option at the top of the screen to select. The only thing I can do is select a specific video and play it, then when it is done it goes back to the music video list where I have to get up and select another video to play. This all has to be done one at a time, and directly from the Touch. Conversely, when I select the playlist while in music mode, it will play the songs, but just displays the album art - no video.
My Touch is at the latest software version. There is an upgrade available to iTunes I haven't done yet, but I didn't think that would matter. Based on my scenario, is there something simple I am overlooking? It sounds like you've been able to accomplish some semblance of playing back multiple videos at once on your TV without having to get up and manually select each one.
    Thanks.

  • Apple component cable - no video output

I purchased an Apple component cable thinking I would be able to display video on my HDTV, but all I can get is audio. I know the TV is working properly as I can get component video from a WII console. The phone is a 3GS with the latest software (4.01). I get no video with the IPOD app or the photo app. I have the TV settings configured for widescreen and NTSC in the IPOD setup section.
    What am I missing?

I would love to know this too. I can't get photos or video to display on my TV

  • Dynex Component Audio/Video cable for iPhone doesn't just play music?

I just purchased Dynex Component Audio/Video cable for iPhone and it plays video, but not music. It only works when I'm using Neflix or the video component of the iPod. How do I get it to just play my music?
If I run the iPod music and open Netflix the music will play, but that is just a roundabout way of getting it to play audio and is silly. How do I get it to just play audio?

don't think so but the component rely on normal analog signals using RCA connectors
you can find tons of 3.5mm minijack connector and 2 rca connectors in the other cables
they are dirt cheap and you can even make them yourself

  • Does anyone know why I can only get sound and no video with a compatible component cable?

Does anyone know why I can only get sound and no video with a compatible component cable?

What apps are you trying?  TV out video only works with apps that support TV out.  If the app does not support TV out you will still get aoudio via the component cable

  • Apple component cable issue audio no video

Just purchased the Component cable to play movies purchased from itunes on my Sharp Aquos TV. Tv does have the correct ports for the component cable. But when I plug the cable in I get sound but no picture. The video out setting on the ipad is correct, NTSC, as are the tv settings, NTSC and correct input. What am I missing?

If you are sure your video settings are correct on both, try the order of how you plug in the cables. I had this one time before but forget what I did using an iPhone. You need to either plug the cables into the TV, turn on your iDevice to the movie, then plug the 30 pin into the iDevice, or reverse it. It was something screwy like that. It had to do with the order and powering it all on. Sorry I don't remember better. Hope that helps.

  • Apple Video Component Cable only for audio

I want to buy an Apple Video Component Cable to use it with an iPhone 3GS and also with an iPod 5G.
The cable will be connected to the TV and to the audio receiver.
I know that this cable is not compatible with the iPod 5G, but in this case I only want to use it to listen to music. Therefore, only audio with iPod 5G, audio/video with iPhone 3GS.
Does anyone know if using this cable, despite the fact that video won't work on iPod 5G, audio will work fine on iPod 5G?
I'd like to know that before I buy it.
    Thanks!
    Andrés

    I'll answer my self.
Yes, it does play music on the iPod 5th gen.

  • Convert from component cable to Stereo A/V + S-video for AppleTV

    Hello,
We are looking for a converter cable, box, hub that will convert from component cable (red/blue/green) to Stereo A/V + S-video. We are hooking up a AppleTV box to an older Sony WEGA TV.
Anyone heard of such a product or work around?
We have not made the move to HD and would be bummed if this cannot work.
    Thanks.

http://www.svideo.com/appletv2tv.html has a product that allegedly does this. I haven't used it, so you might want to do some more investigation before handing over the cash! It looks a lot cheaper than other Component->Composite converters out there. You would connect the yellow output from this box to the yellow input on the front of your TV (video). The red and white connectors on your AppleTV to the red and white on the front of your TV (audio). The unit also has an S-Video output, which you should use in preference to the composite if your TV supports it (higher quality).
