Availability of the 64gig IPOD Touch 4G

I have seen several BestBuy's in my area have received the 32gig version of the Touch, but I have yet to see any 64gig versions available.  Anybody know of the availability for the 64gig models?

I am willing to bet that Apple sells 1st and foremost from their website store and Apple Stores.
Mmm yes and no. It would be safe to assume that Apple would fill its own stock first before shipping any extra products to other retailers, however, Best Buy and WMart are the two putting Apple on the board due to their volume. There are approximately 1100 Best Buys and 2700 WMarts in the U.S. compared to a paltry 230 Apple stores. Not to mention that not everyone shops online because the iTouch is one of those things you might want to see and feel first before buying and not everyone trusts the internet. If Apple wants to keep the potential buyers salivating on their new product(s), they're going to want to keep their two giant partners supplied with product(s).
Although, I do admit that I do not like the way Best Buy handles these types of hot items. They sell it to you first, charge your card, then tell you that it's backordered... How about they list the item as "sold out" so no one is duped then sell it when they have some in stock and can actually fill those orders? If you're going to have the items on backorder, at least inform the customer before you take their money and make them wait 2-3 weeks (and I'm being generous here) for it.
I would give Target a try every now and then. Sometimes you just never know what you'll find in there. That's how I got my Wii years ago when it was ultra rare. Best Buys and WMarts were all sold out (just like everywhere else). My fiancee and I were just shopping for household products at Target and I wandered into the electronics department and asked if they had any Wiis. Lo and behold they had three in stock... I also picked up my limited edition Japanese Nintendo DS there too.... which I regret selling for $800 last year .
I DO NOT work for Best Buy. Whatever I post are just educated guesses or common sense.

  • Can you transfer pictures from an old ipod touch to a new ipod touch without having the old ipod touch or the photos in Iphoto?

I somewhat recently got a new ipod touch after my screen cracked and the people at an Apple store said it would be cheaper to buy a new device completely.  I followed everything they said about backing up my old device and when I went to pick up the new one, the store took the old one away.
Up until just a few days ago I did not realize Iphoto could hold pictures from your ipods.  Mine never did it automatically, nor did anything ever seem to have the option to do.  It just so happened that two days ago I was browsing the web when I noticed a website gave instructions on how to transfer photos.  So I tried it and it worked for my new ipod while all the new photos.
But I was wondering if I could somehow get the old photos back from Itunes or my computer somewhere and transfer them into Iphoto or my new device.  I was hoping that maybe if I could "back up" my old stuff onto my new ipod for a few moments it would show I have the old photos and I could transfer them into Iphoto and then restore the ipod touch back to what I have it currently.
If it helps, I'm pretty sure the old ipod touch I had was a 3gen as my new one I noticed was skinnier.  As I said, I do not have the old touch anymore but I have the data in Devices on my Itunes if that makes a difference.  Both my data for my old one and new one are in the Devices section of Itunes.

Restore the new iPod from the backup of the old iPod:
How to restore from a backup
To restore information from a backup, use one of the following methods after connecting your iOS device to the computer with which you normally sync:
Right-click (or Control-click) the device and choose Restore from Backup
If you have a new phone, you can connect to iTunes and it will prompt to restore from your backup

  • I just purchased a new ipod touch so now I have two. I do not want the second ipod touch to sync the same as the old ipod touch - 2 people with 2 different music preferences. How do I keep them separate.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • I have the 1st generation ipod touch is there anyway that apple will trade it for the new ipod touch even if i have to put in a little money myself like some trade in credit or somthing?

I have the 1st generation ipod touch looking to trade for the new ipod touch or someone to give me money for the new ipod touch

There is no trade in program.
You can sell to to someone.
Apple has a recycling program where they will give you 10% off of a new ipod if your bring in your old one.

  • I've got the old Ipod touch and i want to update it but i can't!

I've got the old ipod Touch and everytime i want to download something it will say i need an update!! Ive tried nearly everything don't know how to make it work

If you're trying to run an app that requires a newer version of iOS, you may be out of luck. A 1st-generation iPod touch can only run up through iOS 3.1.3, and the 2nd-generation model only up through iOS 4.2.1. If you have one of those models and are trying to run an app that requires iOS 4.3 or later, you will not be able to do so.

  • So... I got the new iPod Touch, and it is stuck in a loop trying to restore after the latest OS update failed...

I bought the new iPod Touch today, and tried to update to newest software, got an error code "6" and now is in a cycle in which it keeps downloading the update and then telling me the iPod needs restoring... over and over again.  Like Ground Hog Day...
Any help would be much appreciated!  Thanks!

I have exactly the same Problem ! iTunes starts downloading the 885MB of the update over and over again, One Cycle takes a Lot of time.

GarageBand is free on the App Store for all iOS 7 compatible devices; additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available with an in-app purchase. iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated on or after September 1, 2013. • Has anyone tried syncing the new iPod Touch 4 with OS 10.4.11?

I know the "official" Apple spec's state the new iPod Touch 4 are
for it to sync with OS 10.5.8 and use iTunes 10 .... but has anyone been
successful in using the new iPod Touch 4 with OS 10.4.11 and iTunes 9.2.1?

Does iTunes see the iPod? If not
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    or
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
You need iTunes 10.7 or later on the computer
The iPod touch uses different drivers than the Nano

do any one know how much it is to get the new ipod touch with the camera if you trade in your old ipod touch?

Sounds like you need a new battery.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to confirm.  Apple will replace the battery for $79.  A third-party place like the folloing may be less expensive.  Google for more places.

  • I am very disappointed with the new ipod touch

So apple adds all of this new stuff to the iphone 4s, dual core a5 chip, all new 8MP camera and optics, and siri. Yay, every iphone customer is happy. This is what you added to the new ipod touch, wait its not new, its the 4th generation with the option of having it in white. Whoop-de-do, you added white to it, besides that you didn't add anything new to it. You have pretty much ditched the ipod touch in my opinion. You have greatly disappointed me apple...

What I would really like to see in the next gen Touch is 3G or 4G wireless.
Refillable usage, just like the iPad.  Don't want the "contract" requirements
of iPhone.  Even if you do by an unlocked iPhone, you can only get
2 year contract service for data, oh yeah and have to get voice as well.
I just want wireless data access in my pocket, and the Touch with 3G/4G
    would fit that bill nicely!
