Availability of GPFS for Linux

Hello group,
I have done some testing with a number of cluster file systems, RAC and linux. I'd like to try gpfs (IBM) next but I don't know if it's available for a trial or non-commercial use on linux. The documentation mentions the installation from media and I can't find a download on IBM's website.
Does anyone know if it's possible to evaluate it? I pretty much doubt it but who knows :)
Best regards,
Martin

Hallo Martin
You have the following information available :

publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clresctr/topic/com.ibm.cluster.gpfs.doc/gpfs_faqs/gpfs_lin_faq.pdf
Hope this helps

  • Sound in PDFs not playing - suse - latest Reader for linux  (7.0.9?)

I have a pdf that has sound files incorporated into it somehow and I can't get them to play. I am using the latest available adobe reader for linux and I have suse linux, I forget what version but not too old. When I click on the link for the sound, absolutely nothing happens. I know it does work because it works at work on Vista. I am not sure whether there are actual sound files in there or if they are links to files on the internet. I suspect maybe they are links because it also will not work in windows XP with Reader 8 on a computer not connected to the internet. However, I have been able to find no information on this, so I don't have a clue.
Is sound in pdfs a Reader 8 only feature? Does it just not work in Linux? Is there any way to be able to listen to those audio clips?

So you mean there is a release coming out that will solve my problem? Does anyone know when?
(The only thing I've found is stuff written in December last year saying they will release Reader 8 for linux/Unix soon. Soon has been and gone since then ;) )

  • Photoshop Elements for Linux?

It's probably been asked a million times before.  How about developing a Photoshop Elements package for Linux? I believe enough people would purchase a licensed version of your software. I personally own and use Bibblepro 5 and LightZone for Linux. To say people that use linux wouldn't purchase licensed software is totally wrong. There is I'm sure a market for your software besides Windows and Mac. Right now I  also use Picasa, Rawtherapee, Autopanopro, Ptgui,Sigma photo pro  and Hugin on my computer for Stitching software. You guys totally underestimate the market that is available out there for Linux users. We are growing bigger by the day as a community. I opted out of Windows a long time ago when I realized there were options  to use software on my system that was 'free to use' and 'free of viruses and trojans'. and also allowed me the option to install my OS on as many computers I personally own. Anyways
    what's stopping you people?
    rich

One thing that's stopping us people is that we're just other users like you, not Adobe. If you want to tell them, come to the adobe website, click the Contact link near the bottom of the page and then the feedback tab. There's no guarantee whatever that any adobe person will see a post made in this forum.

  • [SOLVED]How to install this font : it doens't seem available for Linux

    Hi everyone,
I'm currently running Gnome, and I'm trying to have the same theme than here : http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … ent=108433. I've installed and used the Hydra theme : no problems with that.
The only thing I miss now is his font, I read the comments, and it's said the font used is "Zero Threes", they give a link (it's on page 2 if you want to check) : http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Zero_Threes.htm
The problem is the font seems to be available on Mac and Windows, but I coulnd't find it for Linux. But the guy seem to have Linux and he's using it, so could somebody explain to me how can I get the font for linux ? Or if there is a way to install a Windows or a Mac font in Linux ?
    Thanks you in advance !

Or, to make them available to all the users copy them to /usr/share/fonts/truetype directory.

    Thank you for your time.

Please refer "What’s New in CAM 6.10" in page 7 of Release Notes

  • 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) Patch Set 3 for Linux x86 is available

For all those who were in need of some bug fixing, maybe it has been patched in 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) Patch Set 3 for Linux x86, which is now available for download.

Hello Srini, thanks for your answer.
I haven´t Oracle Dataguard, I have a disk replication with other supplier, for this reason, I need to know the files that will be modified, because if the patch modifies a file that I haven´t on replication, I will have problems.
    Thanks again.

  • Is the Oracle database 11.1.0.7  patch available for linux 64 bit

I only Microsoft downloads for this patch - does this mean we have to go to 11.2. Thanks for the input!

It is the same patch number.
I see it as available for Linux x86-64, Linux x86, Windows 32bit and WIndows 64 bit.
Perhaps you want to install the new OCM for Oracle Support - it should help you get those patches without searching. ;-)

  • Oracle 8i Lite for Linux, Is it available?

    Hi all,
Wanted to know if Oracle 8i Lite is available for Linux.
    Thanks

    Hi DH,
On Oracle 8.1.5 the Oracle client is on the same CD as the Oracle server. I didn't receive the 8.1.6 version yet, but I expect its not any different.
When you run the OUI, you get the options 'Oracle8i Enterprise Edition', 'Oracle Client' and ;Oracle Programmer'. Just select Oracle Client, and the client will be installed

  • Will there be a 'Pepper' Linux Flash Player available from Google for versions after 11.2?

    Adobe has stated that:
"For Flash Player releases after 11.2, the Flash Player browser plugin for Linux will only be available via the “Pepper” API as part of the Google Chrome browser distribution and will no longer be available as a direct download from Adobe. "
To me this sounds like going forward, after 11.2,  all Linux Flash Players will be released by Google as part of Chrome using Pepper and not by Adobe - but that there will be Linux Flash Players after 11.2, its just that they are only available in Chrome. However most people in the community seem to have interpreted this to mean 11.2 is the last Linux Flash Player ever other than 5 years of security updates from Adobe. Could an Adobe employee please clarify? Will there be Linux Flash Players, via Pepper and Chrome, for 11.3, 11.4. ...12 and so on? This is crutially important for those using the Flash Player within the embeded Linux market.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

I am trying to find out if the NW2004S is available for Linux. I have NW2004 installed, but want to upgrade to NW2004S (to see the Virtual Machine Container)

    > 2004s is currently not available for Linix.
You are right, there is currently no SAP NetWeaver 2004s TestDrive available - nevertheless SAP NetWeaver 2004s itself is in Rampup with nearly all Linux flavours. See the <a href="http://service.sap.com/pam">Product Availability Matrix</a> or the <a href="http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000294692004E">"PowerPoint PAM"</a> for more details.

Actually I'm developing with Oracle XML Developers Kit on Sun Solaris v10 Production, but I would like to develop my application on linux too. Unfortunately there is no linux XDK v10 distribution for download on http://otn.oracle.com/tech/xml/xdk/software/production10g/utilsoft.html
it's just for Solaris and NT. I would like to ask you how to make my application(developed with new v10 XDK C API on Solaris) compile on Linux. Do I really only need the .a libraries for linux?

  • No document filters available for Linux?

Why doesn't oracle provide the document filters for Linux?
We have setup several VA Linux servers running RedHat 6.2 Linux and Oracle 8.1.6. When developing a new web application for this platform I made the astonishing constation that oracle simply does not provide the document filters for Linux!!!
When purchasing the oracle licenses, oracle told us interMedia was supported on linux, but no one mentioned the unavailability of the document filters, ... and we payed exactly the same price as for the Solaris or HP-UX versions!!
Are there any plans for supporting the document filters on Linux???
    From a deceived user,
    Dirk

INSO filters for Linux are supported in 8.1.7.
