Availability of Headstart 6.5.3 for Designer 9i?

We have purchased Oracle iDevelopment Accelerators for a green-field bespoke system we are building using Designer, Forms and iAS. We would like to use the following product versions:
Oracle Forms 9i
Oracle Designer 9i
Oracle 9iAS Release 2
Oracle Enterprise Server 9.0.2.1
I currently have version 6.5.0.1 of Accelerators but see from the forums that version 6.5.3 is to be used with Designer 9i - expected to be released at end of October. Can you please tell me if 6.5.3 is now available? Will this version then be suitable for the combination of products listed above?

Available now. I just checked the Headstart Supplement Option portal and downloaded the following:
Headstart Patch 6.5.3.0 for 9i:
***NEW*** Full installation set of Headstart 6.5.3.0 for 9i, to be used with Designer 9i
Headstart Patch 6.5.3.0 for 6i:
***NEW*** Patch 6.5.3.0 of Headstart 6i, to be used with Designer 6i. To be installed on top of Headstart patch 6.5.2.3

There is no general username, password and connect string for
Designer 6i Release 4.1.1.
First, you install the client tools using the Installer. See also the
Designer Installation Guide, Chapter 1, 'Client Side installation'.
Second, you install the repository into an existing database, using
the Designer Installation Guide, Chapter 2, 'Server-side installation,
migration and upgrade'.
The Installation Guide provides step by step instructions on what
users you need to create for various purposes. Any database users
you may need to use such as System or Sys will use the password
given when you installed the database, or whatever passowrd you
changed it to since.
The Installation Guide is available as part of the download, or from
your Windows Start Menu once the Designer client tools are installed
or from the Designer Documentation page here on OTN.

Are there any Mac-friendly typography software for designing text

I used to do this in PhotoShop 4, but this program is no longer compatible with the iMac. I'm too low-ended to use Adobe Photo Elements. Hence, trying to find a program that one can design their text as 'titles' headlines on display boards, PPT presentations and iWeb. The text then can be saved either as PDF or JPEG thereby avoiding font subsitution when placed in other people's documents especially in iWeb. I have PrintShop for the Mac, but I find there is not enough scope for designing text titles.

Is Headstart 6i compatible with all Designer 6i versions? Where to download?

We consider upgrading from Designer 6.0 / Headstart patch 12.4
to Designer 6i / Headstart 6i, as we are now migrating from a
7.3.4 db to 8.1.7 and from Win98 to Win2000.
I have seen documentation on migration issues from Designer 6.0
to 6i rel.2, and from Headstart to patch 13. But I understand
that with introduction of Headstart 6i, patch 13 is no longer
supported.
1. I assume that Headstart 6i could work with all Des.6i-
versions, is that right?
2. I have found the place to download patch 13, but where can I
download Headstart 6i ???

Headstart 6i is compatible with all Designer 6i versions.
However, we have found one odd quirk with Headstart 6i and Forms
6i versions 6.0.13 and higher.
Description ===========
1. When using a multi-select LOV (which is displayed in a modal
dialog window), you select the records you want, press OK, and
the application exits.
2. When using a shuttle control to move records from left to
right or vice versa, you select the records you want, press '>'
to move them, and the application exits. This occurs in Forms
6.0.8.13.0 and higher. It did NOT occur in prior releases. This
is some kind of forms bug.
Workaround ==========
For some reason the call to procedure 'renumber' in
qms$msel.process_records in qmslib65.pll causes the application
to exit. If you copy the code from renumber to all the places
from which it is called, it works fine.

When designing BW InfoCubes, I can use ME/RM or ERM for conceptual design and SAP Star Schema for logical design. Is there anything similar for designing planning hierarchies/architectures?

The first highly limited version of the native Android viewer should be available in the next release v28. While it will support phones, it will be limited in its feature set. Over the next several releases, more overlays and other features will be added to the native viewer.

More support for Designer PDFs on Mobile

Looking at the number of posts here, it is clear that LiveCycle Designer is a very popular application, though I am not sure whether Adobe senior management are aware of this fact.
Hardly surprising - little in the way of competition, and Adobe's own offerings - Acrobat XI and FormsCentral - just don't offer the same combination of ease of use and powerful form design features.
It is also clear that many, many people who are using LiveCycle Designer are not using it in connection with the LiveCycle server products - so cannot choose to render the form as Flash/HTML5 - they have to rely on the PDF format.
Why then is it so difficult for Adobe to produce a Reader on Mobile that supports Designer PDF forms? - as far as I can see, even if I save an ES3 form as a Static PDF, users are unable to complete it using the latest Adobe Reader on Android.
I'd actually say that non-server linked use of LiveCycle Designer has increased in the last couple of years - but this is not going to continue if there is no way to - easily - get the form usable in Adobe Reader on Mobile.
I don't think that Adobe realise that by seeding technology like this at the 'cubicle dweller' level (i.e. available to an individual geek/bright spark even if the company has not bought into the server technology) actually does often lead to the company making that 'big purchase'. In short, middle managers get to see some of the great work that Mike/Martha has been doing in his/her cubicle, and slowly but surely news of the efficiencies progress up the food chain until someone is convinced enough to sign off the big server purchase.
From past experience, Adobe have shown that they don't understand this way of marketing their technology - they seem to rely on glossy ads aimed at C level execs, ridiculously high entry-level prices and making these prices hard to even get hold of. Well, if that was such a bright idea, why have they made such slow progress with (and even scaled back) LiveCycle.
Some of the LiveCycle tech is really great - e.g. LC Rights Management and Barcoded Forms - and they should have gotten far more penetration out there. If Adobe want LiveCycle to thrive, they need to change their ways.

Which program should we use for designing a booklet?

I wanted to ask if anyone can give me a suggestion for a program. We'll need the program for designing a little booklet, format A5, double paged. It would also be great if anyone can post a site for ressources for this program, we want to make it looking ancient -> roman time.

That's a tough question really.
For the final layout, you'd want to use an application like Indesign. For image manipulation (pre-layout) you'd want to use Photoshop. For illustrations, you'd use Illustrator (InDesign has SOME illustration abilities).
As far as making it look like something from ancient roman times, that's really up to your skills. The software won't do it for you. There are various fonts available that would give that effect. You could probably make a background that looks like parchment using Photoshop then importing it in to InDesign.

You can a Cube at the reporting layer which gets data from DSO and which has these 2 extra characteristics completion date and previous cycle along with other chars and keyfigures from DSO.
You can populate these based on your logic in the field routine.

Is OWB the Best Tool for Designing Warehouse Tables?

My current site uses OWB for ETL but mandates the use of TOAD Data Modeller for design and build of the warehouse tables.
I always thought that OWB could do this task just as well as TOAD, but I'm not very experienced with OWB.
Can anyone advise?

You can design table with OWB and deploy to database, but is better create database objects [tables, views ets.] with SQL by DDL script and import this objects to OWB.
You can define physical properties, keys, constraints, partitions, indexes, grants ets. for one table in one SQL-script.

There has to be a way to create a Re: Discover New Parallax Scrolling with Adobe Muse CC | Creative Cloud for Design | Adobe TV slideshow that fills browser width. It's not a problem for desktop, but it is a problem for laptops/tablets/phones.
