Availability of N80 internet edition in the UK

When is this phone likely to be available for purchase in the UK?
There seems to be no indication of it appearing yet, and I'm getting fed up of looking online every day.

Prob a month or 2 away yet.
Took 2-3 months from announcement to availability of the N80!

  • Can I synchronise with the Nokia N80 Internet Edition?

Is it possible to synchronise Address Book (including photos) and iCal with the Nokia N80 Internet Edition?
I getting one so I can use it with Truphone for VoIP (which I wouldn't be doing if Apple's iPhone did VoIP!!).

I got it to sync once but now I get a system error on the N80ie with no further clues. I have tried every combination on two different systems with the same result.

    Hi gundozer
It is just software related. An analogy is Sony Ericsson K750i of which early versions could be converted into W800i Walkman with different software.
You can use VoIP internet telephony on the N80IE.

  • N80 INTERNET EDITION, SMS ACCELERATOR n VPN

Hey can anybody tell me if the SMS Accelerator comes pre-installed on N80 I.E since there is no mention of it on the support/software pages. My N80 I.E's firmware version is 4.0632.0.38 ( latest as per my limited knowledge ). Also on the N80 I.E support pages, it does not mention about VPN Client software as it does on the regular N80 page. Can somebody explain this to me?

Open up the download application and download the Gizmo voip plugin and visit http://www.gizmoproject.com/learnmore-nokia.html for more details.
If you don't like gizmo then there is also Truphone and Fring. (more recently I've been using Fring)Message Edited by jacobsladder on 08-Mar-2007

    Hi
Why do they install Gizmo when it is nearly impossible to get the darn thing working!
Fring seems the easiest at the moment though.

  • Nokia N80 Internet Edition Software Update Issue

    Hi,
I would like to express my disappointment for the poor service that Nokia has given me. I purchased a Nokia cellphone because I believed it was a reliable company. Nokia is operating in a global world, promoting online upgrades internationally. This does not rely on borders, and yet, on the ground Nokia is inflexible and has not responded to the mobile global population. Despite being within the warranty period, I have to pay a considerable sum of money to fix a problem caused by the online upgrades that Nokia promote.
I used the New Zealand Nokia website to update my Nokia N80i software, and the message on my PC said that the update was completed successfully. When I tried to use the phone there was a message on the screen telling me to contact my retailer. From then on my problems started.
I called the New Zealand Nokia call centre (where I live) and I explained the problem and they advised me to go to the nearest care center, and I did that. As this unit was purchased from abroad (Singapore), I was advised that as the New Zealand care centre is unable to service my Nokia N80i.
I was told to send the phone to a Nokia Care Centre in Singapore because they would have the current issue on hand. Even though the fault was caused by the computer updates, I was informed that the issue would need to meet Nokia's warranty guidelines and be within its warranty period (my phone was under the warranty period at the time) for the repair to be covered under warranty. In any case, I had to cover all handling charges such as courier charges. Having received this advice I paid for the phone (with warranty card) to be couriered to Singapore.
Nokia NZ told me if the phone has been posted to the care centre in Singapore, I should tell them IMEI Number, Date of Purchase, Airway Bill / Consignment Number - which I did.
I then went through a very painful process of dealing with Customs Singapore regarding GST charges. Before it left customs (as I didn't want to pay GST on an item I wasn't importing into Singapoer), I received a call from the Singapore care center advising me that they cannot fix my phone as it is from the Hong Kong market (even though it was purchased in Singapore!!!!) I'm not sure how they could tell me this now (when they hadn't received the phone in Singapore) as they couldn't tell me this when the phone was in New Zealand.
They now said I needed to send it to Hong Kong instead. I told them I could not afford to pay anymore money as I already spent lots to send the phone to them, only to have it return to New Zealand at my cost (which happened when I didn't pay the excessive GST charges).
Nokia then told me to throw my phone in the rubbish and forget about it because they are not responsible for it.
This whole process was ludicrous. The phone was working fine before I tried to use the online update feature, and yet, Nokia refuse to take responsibility for the faults caused by their updates.
Right now I am left with a dead phone. Can anybody help me to fix it?

I am very sorry to hear about your predicament. I always keep my fingers and toes crossed when I update firmware as it can be a risky exercise.
Nokia warranties are usually only valid in the country the phone is meant for, except for European phones where the warranty is valid all over Europe.
I read another thread where someone else got their phone to work following a similar problem to your. Have a look at the thread below.

    Hope this works for you.

i am having trouble connecting to wifi with my N80 internet edition... the wifi i am trying to connect to is a service that covers my entire university campus and it is an authenticated server where i generally have to enter a password and username. any help would be appreciated thanks

You'll need to create an access point manually via Settings -> Access Points. Click on New and follow the prompts.
You'll need to get the SSID and the WEP/WPA key for the network you are trying to connect to.

  • Whwn come the n73 internet edition new firmware???...

pls answere me...and if someone had maded a mistake and upgrade his n73 to n73 internet edition...what should he do to make his n73 to normal mode, and keep his warranty??

I successfully upgraded in 30 Aug 2007. Everything seems OK.
Unfortunately, the most important features -- Phone Book searching should exist bugs, when the phone book call up it seems good, but when I input any character for searching (e.g. try to find the phone number of 'a'lbert, and key-in 'a'), the phone look like hanged, after minutes (over 5 minutes) of silent, the subset of contacts contains the character 'a' browse up.
    I want to downgrade now.

  • I had to erase my hard drive and then reinstall everything back from my passport external hard drive. Now my iPhoto edit is not working. I get a blank screen when I want to edit. The photos show up in the library but I cannot edit them. Help?

I had to erase my hard drive and then reinstall everything back from my passport external hard drive. Now my iPhoto edit is not working. I get a blank screen when I want to edit. The photos show up in the library but I cannot edit them. Help?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Can anyone tell me how I keep everything I had in my old photoshop, now I've updated to Photoshop CC 2014.  It did give me the option to transport over all my presets, but because I didn't have internet access at the time, it couldn't do it.  Now I'm not

Can anyone tell me how I keep everything I had in my old photoshop, now I've updated to Photoshop CC 2014.  It did give me the option to transport over all my presets, but because I didn't have internet access at the time, it couldn't do it.  Now I'm not getting the option.  Please help.

Migrating Presets does not require a network connection and you can still migrate your cc presets if you still have CC installed.  Use Photoshop menu Edit>Presets>Migrate Presets...  Migrating presets only migrates presets.  It does not migrate Plugins, settings, extensions and scripts.  CC 2014 is also not completely backwards compatible with CC.  Support for Flash Panels and Oil Painter filter have been removed.  So extensions like mini bridge no longer work in CC 2014

  • I don't know how to program my DVR to edit out the commercials

I had heard that that feature was available with the DVR.  Does anyone know how to do that?

There is no way to edit out the commercials. If you are watching a previously recorded show or are in a buffer for live TV, you can skip past the commercials. The skip button on the remote and be programmed to jump ahead 10sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 5 min. So set the time frame to skip and press the skip button until you are past the commercials. I then use the previous button to jump backwards to where the show started again. That can be programmed to the same time frames. Me personally, I have mine set to skip 30 seconds and jump back 10. With the average commercial break being 3 minutes, I press the skip button about 6 times very quickly, then press it until I'm into my show. Once in my show, I jump back 10 seconds at a time until either the very end of the commercial break or the start of the show.

    Hi,
    No problem, similar treatment. Follow
    1. Create IP SLA/Track for both internet link
    2. Break your LAN subnet into 2 smaller subnet
    3. Create route map, Match with 1 subnet & route the traffic towards 1st internet link
    route-map General_Internet_Traffic permit 10
    match ip address 115
    set ip next-hop verify-availability 10.1.1.1 track 1
    set ip next-hop verify-availability 11.1.1.1 track 2
    4. Create route map, Match with 2 subnet & route the traffic towards 2nd internet link
    5. Configure NATing/PATing over the interface, selecting by route-map
ip nat inside source route-map General_Internet_Traffic interface FastEthernet0/0 overload

Maybe find a local who can translate for you. I don't know what to tell you for dealing in another country for service on your computer.
I can offer you something you can do if you want to give it a try. You'll need a backup of your data in your Home folder because you need to erase the drive. You'll also need a solid, preferably fast, internet connection.
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
