Available App updates not appearing in iTunes

Hello!
I'm using iTunes 8.1.1 (I'm avoiding 8.2 until problems with it are fixed). When I open iTunes, next to the Applications item in the Library column is a number indicating the number of updates available; when I click on that, I'm brought to the page that shows all my Apps, and they are all there. At the bottom right is the number of updates available; when I click on that, I get a screen that indicates that NO updates are available.
At the App Store on the iPhone, intermittently I see either all the updates that are available, or "All Apps are up to date.'
Can anyone help me to understand why iTunes first registers all the available updates but then 'loses' them?
Thanks!

I finally figured out what the issue is.
On iTunes, I found in my list of apps a few apps that I had deleted on my phone but these deletions did not synchronize properly with the computer. Look closely at your list and find the apps that are no longer on the phone but somehow are still on iTunes despite syncing.
It seems iTunes is still looking for updated for these old apps and when any are available they appear as "Available Updates". iTunes is drawing its update query from this list. But then when you click on the updates button, none appear because iTunes also seems to know that these apps are no longer on your phone.
In other words: this is a bug. For whatever reason Apple has not bothered to fix this for months now.
Solution: Go one and by one and delete on iTunes the ones you no longer have. Presto!

  • App updates not saving in itunes?

Running itunes 11.01 using lion on my Imac. I have itunes on an external hard drive if it makes a difference.    On itunes, it always says I have apps to update, about 150 of them.  I download them and then they reappear next time I reboot my computer.   Almost as if its not saving my updates after I download them.   They are the same apps too.   I sync a couple of my Iphones with icloud but there is also a couple I sync directly with the mac.  Does anyone have any ideas on why its not saving my app updates?  I don't have any issues syncing my apps with the icloud directly on my phones.

  • Apps are not appearing in iTunes

None of my apps are showing up in iTunes. When I click on the app icon in iTunes, it just says apps you have downloaded should appear here and it only gives a link to the app store.  How do I fix this?

Also, from 'Devices', click the 'right arrow' and list of folders on iPad appears.  'Apps' is not there.
Until you posted this - I would have never even looked at this .... but when I click the arrow next to my iPad name under the devices heading - there is no apps folder visible for me either.
Try this. Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes, right click on the iPad name on the left side bar and select - transfer purchases. See if the transfer process even starts. You can watch the progress bar at the top of the screen to see what's going on. If it looks like the apps transferred - look for the apps again in the Library section of iTunes.
I assume that you are running iTunes 11, like I am - and maybe the fact that the Apps folder is not viable under the iPad's name under the does headings is some sort of bug. I almost never look at that though like I said earlier so I can't remember what it looked like in iTunes 10.

  • App updates not showing on itunes since 12/12/2013

    Hi all,
Since yesterday, i cannot found any app updates on the updates section. I already press the check for updates button but itunes said that all my apps are up to date. However, if i open the itunes store. Some of the apps that i own shows that they have updates. But they are not found in the updates section. So until now i have to check manually for updates for each of my apps.
For further information. I Have only one apple id which i use for purchase, and all my apps are under those apple id.
    Any solution for this problem?

    Hi k3th3k
Have a look at those links , it might help
I found an article with steps you can take to further isolate and troubleshoot an issue like the one you described:

If you are still having trouble with the iTunes Store after following the steps in that article, I also recommend the following articles:

  • App updates not appearing

App update shows 2 updates pending but nothing shows up for updating. iPad has been restarted and recharged. Any ideas?

There have been a number of similar posts over the last couple of days or so reporting the same problem - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.

  • Apps Folder Not Appearing in iTunes?

I am switching notebooks (Windows) and have iTunes reloaded and my music transfered succesfully. I synced my iPhone and selected the option to move the purchased items from the to iTunes, but I don't see the apps anywhere in iTunes. I used to be able to see them in a folder, perform updates, etc. What am I doing wrong?

Go to the General tab of the iTunes preferences. Is the checkbox for "Apps" checkmarked? If not, that's your problem.
    Regards.

  • Apps do NOT Appear in iTunes

Why don't the apps I've downloaded & purcahsed directly through the phone appear under the 'applications' tab of iTunes?
    How do I correct this?
I have logged on to my iTunes account and verified that the history shows the applications.
I have also tried using "check for purchases' under the 'Store' file menu in iTunes, and nothing.
I have also restarted both the phone and iTunes.
I receive no messages on the phone regarding "transfers" or anything else.
Apps function perfectly on the phone, however.
It appears a lot of other users are experiencing this same problem.
Thanks to anyone who can help sort this out. There's no other way to manage the apps!

I solved it myself, but lots of people are asking the same question, so here's how to sort it out:
    Connect your iPhone
    Go to iTunes
    File
    Transfer Purchases from "Name"
Now, all your apps will appear under the "Applications" tab of iTunes

  • After Update - Not Appearing In iTunes

    Hey all.
I've been sitting here for about an hour or so, waiting for my iPhone to reappear in iTunes so I can disconnect it and get on with my life with 3.0.... Buuuuut, it would appear that after I OK-ed the alert saying that my phone is restarting and will reappear in iTunes, it's now on that screen with a USB cable, an arrow, and the iTunes logo. I'm not sure what I should do. Should I use the slider which is reading 'Slide For Emergency'?
    Thanks.

I have tried all of these suggestions, in addition to all of the troubleshooting suggestions on Apple's website... no help. I still have the same lil picture telling me to plug the USB into iTunes, and my iPhone is not being recognized by iTunes, AND I cannot use my iPhone.
Hmmmm... Now I wish I'd waited a few days before "upgrading" to iPhone 3.0 OS!!!

  • Since update 11.1.4.62, my iphone does not appear in iTunes at all.  How can I fix that?

    Hi,
I updated iTunes this morning and now my iphone, ipad do not appear in iTunes.
I tried unplugging the usb cable and but it still does not work.  I tried powering off my iphone but it does not connect.
my husband has the same problem with his ipad with his pc.  He did the same update this morning.
    Anybody has an idea?

I had the same problem and tried some of the fixes describing Apple Mobile Devise settings etc. it didn't work.
What did work was uninstall iTunes and othe various Apple apps and then reinstall with the latest version of iTunes from Apple. All my playlist, music, setting remained intact and it works like a charm.

  • Apps downloaded in iTunes Store do not appear under iTunes Apps tab

Apps downloaded in the iTunes Store (either as updates to existing apps or as new) do not appear under the 'Apps' tab in iTunes.
iTunes requests my Apple ID and password and the files will download afterward.  However, they do not appear in the 'Apps' tab.  This is confirmed by right-clicking >> Get Info.  No update to the version and new apps do not appear.
Of note, I am running Lion an iMac 3.06 Core 2 Duo w/ iTunes 10.7.
My iTunes Library is located on a Mac Mini Server running Lion Server.  I've checked permissions and every folder and library file is set to 'Read & Write' so it doesn't appear to be a permissions issue.
    Any ideas?

Also, I've tried individually downloading an app flagged for update in iTunes without any luck.

My ipod touch has a permanent image of the end of a USB cable with an arrow pointing to an icon of ITunes. I can't reset using the two button method, and ipod does not appear on itunes when I plug it into the computer - and nothing else happens either.  This happened after I agreed to a software update which failed.  How can I get it going again?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
