"Available" contacts NOT available
Why is it that my contacts that say are available are actually NOT available? Whenever I log in it's the same set of people that are said to be available.
Your apps are contained in an iTunes backup. They should be in your iTunes library and can be transferred to your new phone by syncing with iTunes. If they aren't, connect your old phone to iTunes, click on the name of your phone, then go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to add them. If you don't have your old phone, you'll have to redownload them http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.
As for your contacts, if you don't have them backed up anywhere else your only option is to try restoring to your backup again or sync them from your old phone to a supported program on your computer (such as Outlook, Windows Contacts or Mac Address Book/Contacts).

iphone contacts "not available" to car phonebook after messing around with Outlook.pst files, names and backups, on my ms XP 2003 laptop. I substituted a much smaller new Personal Folder -Contacts File, with a smaller list of phone numbers (4 only as a test) which successfully synced to the iPhone 4. The iPhone connects to the Skoda Octavia HandsFreeSystem OK (Bluetooth works fine), but now iPhone wont load the new Contacts as it did originally. However a family Nokia (never messed with) can connect properly. So must be the iPhone or more likely an Outlook.pst \ Contacts problem. Ideas?
After fiddling a little more, the following fixed my corrupted outlook.pst file:
1) I made a backup
2) In outlook under file, I exported the calendar to excel
3) In outlook under file, I imported the calendar back to outlook
And voila, it worked. -

Tried to sync Contacts last night and today - indicates Contacts(not available) in the Select Organizer Data to Synchronize ("gray'd out, option to select not available).
First time this has happened. How can I get the Contacts option active to sync?
Last time I sychronized each of Calendar and Contacts prior to yesterday, Wednesday, February 20, 2013, was Monday, February 18, 2013.

Sorry to hear you're having an issue syncing your Contacts.
Have you recently added an email account, such as Gmail or Yahoo and enabled wireless Contact sync?
If you reboot by pulling the battery then reinsert it, do you get the option to configure the Contacts?
It would be recommended you upgrade your BlackBerry Desktop Software to the latest version. You can download it from www.blackberry.com/desktop and once updated see if you're able to configure your Contacts for sync.

Join to contact, then press the Button All
Here choose BBM Video
The contacts shown in BBM list are the ones you can make video calls to those who go online connected
Enter the contact's profile and choose BBM Video.

Upgrade to iOS4.2.1 has lost all my Contacts, Notes, Calendars!

I sync'd my iPhone 3G with iTunes yesterday and was prompted to install the latest 4.2.1 phone update. I did this and now all my contacts and notes have not been restored!
During the update, the phone was backed up and, after the update, there were messages saying that Contacts, Notes etc were being restored but when I opened my Contacts, it was empty!
I've tried selecting the "Restore" button and it went through the restore process and again said it was restoring my contacts - but they are still empty!
Can't believe iTunes would not have backed up my Contacts before wiping the phone! This seems to have been a fairly major update as it took over an hour to do the update and return (minus my contacts!). I had literally hundreds of contacts and notes on the phone so this will be a nightmare if I don't get them back
Anybody know how I can recover my Contacts and Notes?The software update process does not touch any user data or settings. Fact is, merely updating your software should not have deleted your contacts. Something else is going on here. First of all, the only signed firmware available for your phone is iOS 4.3. So, how were you able to update to iOS 4.2.1, since that is no longer available from Apple? First thing done when you update software is an iPhone backup. Included in that backup are your contacts. Connect your phone, iTunes running, DO NOT SYNC, right-click your phone in the left device pane & select "Restore from Backup". Select the backup made when you started to update your phone. Note: this will also install iOS 4.3 on your phone.

Contacts not synced - perform a repair installatio...
Just syncing contacts with Ovi Suite and it comes up with a failure message. Okay fine, but it's telling me to effectively reinstall Ovi Suite to fix it!
"Contacts not synced - Perform a repair installation of your Nokia Ovi Suite Then sync again. Error code: 83950003"
Seems it knows there's a specific bug and rather than fix it properly or provide a neat user experience so it's fixed under the hood, they just go for making the user do something they should never need to do.
E72-1 UK CV 052.005I have seen this mostly happening due to Nokia Connectivity cable not working. Please try the steps provided below, might work.
1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
6. Restart the computer if prompted.
7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now and sync correctly .

After IOS8 upgrade IPhone5s syncs with exchange but IPad2 syncs ONLY Mail and Contacts, NOT Calendar.
Also, my other tablet - Samsung TabS - has same issue - calendar wont sync. My IPhone and my desktop (windows) synch just fine.
Google calendar syncs on all devices. Totally stumped. Ideas anyone?

4. Select "Phone" menu
Check if you have 10 Devices registered.
If you have, you need to delete one of them to add your new Smart Phone to Exchange for synching
Check the "Last Sync Time" to indicate if this device is still active or not. -
i have update and restore my wife iphone to 7.0.4 and i lost all the data what to do now? all contacts and kids photos goooone , we have the same apple ID and when i tried to restore from i cloude , i restored my contacts not her???!!!!!
Looks like you restored your backup file to her phone. If you didn't back up your wife's phone first, then the data is gone, sorry.

Lost contacts, notes and reminders
HI! Today I lost contacts, notes and reminders on my iPhone. I checked on my iCloud account and everything is there, then I checked iCloud settings on my iPhone and all options are off except for Find My iPhone. I did not turn on everything because I am worried that I could lose information on iCloud. How can I restore my contacts, notes and reminders to my iPhone from my iCloud account?

Dear wise & wondeful people:
How can I get missing contacts, notes, calendar dates and reminders that are just on my old iphone onto the iCloud for transfer to my new iPhone upgrade? Half of my contacts, notes, ect. were on my iCloud so have happily moved to my new iPhone but the rest are completely resistant. For example, on my iCloud I have 14 missing contacts starting with the letter A alone, however they are happily viewable on my old iPhone 4S and won't budge over into the iCloud.
There are also 3 notes missing yet still acessible on my onld iPhone 4S, the list goes on.
Your help would be most appreciated. Thank you so much.

Can I use Icloud to outlook sync only for calendar and contacts (not tasks)?

one question I have backed up my iPhone but if I want to reset it as a new iPhone just to see if that helps with the battery and I have backed up in iCloud also and if I do reset it and when I sign back into iCloud as a new phone I won't lose my contacts right? Or How do I do it when I set it new device with the latest software update? Cause I don't want to lose my contacts, Notes, Calender etc. if anyone know how can you please respond step by step! If your contacts, calendar, notes, etc. are synced to iCloud they will download back to your phone when you sign back into your iCloud account in Settings>iCloud. You can check to confirm that they are in iCloud by going to icloud.com from your computer and seeing if your data is there.

My iPhone 5s has been deleting my calendar. First time, just the calendar, then next time the calendar and contacts, then yesterday, calendar, contacts, notes and reminders. The phone is only 6 months old or so and is on iOS 7.1.2 (although I need to update it- but have to do some storage management first...)
I have looked at my calendar in my icloud account and it is a week or so out of date, even though it supposedly backed up from my phone on Friday. I am becoming very frustrated by this. Am I doing something wrong? Advice would be much appreciated. In the past I have deleted my icloud account from my phone and then re-signed in, as well as sharing my calendar with myself to restore it, and it works eventually.Sorry I misstyped- it is an iphone 4s.

I was syncing everything to itunes and I tried to do my contacts, not knowing quite how. I ended up erasing all of them from my phone without any of them syncing to my computer or itunes. Is there any way I can get them back? I really need them all.
There are lots of ideas floating on the web for this particular issue - all of which I tried. I had the same problem and it turned out to be my USB cable. I thought the cable was fine as it would charge my phone and play but the data transfer pin was bent. I replaced the cable and it fixed the problem. Worth a shot as it is an easy fix!

I had just upgraded my OS to the OS X Mavericks. After doing so, I noticed the following changes:
1) My MS Outlook for Mac 2011 does not sync with my Mac book's calendar/contacts/notes.
2) My iPhone4s does not sync with my Mac book's calendar/contacts/notes anymore.

aawwiiCorrect, USB local sync was taken away from iphones and ipads with 10.9.1 and 2. We are not allowed to speculate on rumours it might come back in 10.9.3 plus new iTunes. Either wait and see or explore Syncmate 5 beta free trial.
icloud still works.
