Available SAP System Problem

Hi Guys,
Just would like to ask if any of you knows why "Available SAP systems" dropdown in the SAP System Logon window isn't showing the typical SAP BW and SAP R3 options?

Yes, this is in Crystal Reports.. I'm currently using vista, and our company typically place the saplogon.ini in the following folders:
o C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui
o C:\Windows
Also, i looked in the saplogon.ini file, and didn't see any special character except for: . / _ - [ ] =
i'm quite new to SAP so please forgive me if i'm not making too much sense... :S

We have installed Crystal reports 2008 and SAP integration KIt client software on my machine. I am trying to create Crystal reports based on the BI query and I could see SAP Connections in the 'Create new connections list' but not able to see any SAP systems in the list of 'Available SAP Systems'.
How to Add SAP systems to this list.

This variable should contain the path to your saplogon.ini file including the file name eg. if the saplogon.ini resides in the folder c:\windows the variable should contain the following value c:\windows\saplogon.ini
2. Open your saplogon.ini file using Notepad and go to File->Save as. Choose All Files in the field Save as type and DO NOT change the name of the file. In the field Encoding make sure that UTF-8 is selected.

Empty available SAP systems list.

Hello all,
I try to make my first CR report from SAP table but available SAP systems list is empty, when i try "Create New Report from a Query" i see all systems in SAP Logon window. Could anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
locate the saplogon.ini file on the machine you installed the CR designer and create an environment variable with the name SAPLOGON_INI_FILE that contains the path (ATTENTION: include also the name of the file itself) to the saplogon.ini file.
If the system list is still empty after that, then please open the saplogon.ini using Notepad, go to File->Save as and choose the file to be encoded as UTF-8 (Do not modify the name). Just overwrite the existing file and try again.

Starting SAP System Problem

Hi, 
 
I am trying to install the SAP ERP 2004 and I need to log on to the SAP system to change the DDIC password. 
 
The problem is that I cannot log on to the system because the SAP instance is not started successfully. The disp+work.exe process starts OK but after few minutes it stop. 
 
Please, give me a solution how to change the DDIC password.

File is placing in Non-sap system problem

Hi all,
I am placing file in different IP address 150.150.120.123 successfully by using FMs
HTTP_SCRAMBLE
FTP_CONNECT
FTP_COMMAND
FTP_COMMAND
FTP_R3_TO_CLIENT
But i am getting problem of all are not coming line by line.
the file is placing but records are all line items placing continuously continuation with ','. Actually i have to get file records like this

v_cr = v_aux+1(1).
I am using this V_cr when concatenating those fields then also i am getting problem.
I need to place all records items wise.
But i am getting now as all items are continuing with ','
Pls if any one knows solution how to get records item wise without continuation all records with ','.

Try using CR_LF instead of NEWLINE. Also I think that "end of line" character may also be affected by the FTP settings (not related to SAP). I vaguely remember having somewhat similar issue with FTP and mainframe. The file looked fine when downloaded to PC but mainframe "saw" only one long line.
Also take a look at the parameters in the FMs that you've mentioned, maybe there is something about the file type or end-of-line.

SAP System Logon selection shows up blank in Crystal Reports

I've done the following so many times, in the following order, without running into any issues:
1. Install SAP Front End
2. Install Business Objects Enterprise 3.1
3. Install Business Objects Explorer 3.1 SP1 (Polestar 3.1)
4. Install Crystal Reports 2008 SP1
5. Crystal Reports Viewer 2008
6. Install Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP2
7. Install Live Office 3.1
8. Install SAP Integration Kit 3.1 (Custom-->Complete installation)
However, this time around I've run into an issue which I'm trying to resolve, but it has been a nightmare. When I try to access "SAP Table, Cluster, or Function" from File menu>New>Standard Report>Create New Connection>SAP Table, Cluster, or Function, I see the "Available SAP Systems" section blank on the "SAP System Logon" dialog box.
However, this dialog box shows all the connections strings when I access it via the SAP menu or toolbar in Crystal Reports.
To fix this issue I've uninstalled SAP IK, CR Viewer and Crystal Report and reinstalled it, but the problem persists. I am wondering if you have ever come across this before and if you could please give me some tips to resolve this.

Problem with Send and Receive Emal In SAP System

and then I have used Microsoft Outlook 2007, I logged with account u2 ->check email -> Ok. I saw message which send from u1
Finally, My problem is how can receive mail in SAP system without using Microsoft Outlook
For example:
Login system SAP with Basis01 account (with u1Afes.com ) -> tcode SBWP ->New Message -> send to u2Afes.com
and then
Login system SAP with Basis02 account (with u2Afes.com ) -> tcode ??? ->

I replace "@" with "A" because of banning email of this forum.
This quote is about sending email in local network. And we can't receive any email from the outside email address. Addition if I wanna send email to internal email in Internet (we've just tried with email address in local network) What should I config in SAP and Exchange ?
By the way, Is SAP Server IP added to Relay Agent for sending or receiving mail ?

Hi,
This problem is a classic problem of mail routing via Exchange. Exchange like most mail servers use the domain part of the email address as a means to route mails. So I will make an assumption that your main company mail addrss is "User @ fes.com".
So when you send a mail to the "User @ fes.com mail" address the mail is delivered to your Outlook mail address as this is the default route for company.
(Q) So how do you get your Exchange server to relay the mail into the sending SAP system?
(A) The easiest way would be to setup and unique mail domain for your SAP system. I always recommend "user @ client.sid.company.com" which in your case would be "u1 @ 100.PRD.fes.com". You can then instruct Exchange to send any emails addressed to 100.PRD.fes.com domain to your SAP system. Also using this format of address you can configure multiple mail connections into multiple SAP systems.
(A) Another answer would be to enter the "Full" email address (LOcal and Domain part of address) into the routing rule for Exchange e.g. "U1 @ fes.com" so that all emails addressed to this user will be delivered into SAP. However this method requires a lot of Admin as you will have to update Exchange with ALL email address that need to receive emails. Also if your corporate mail address is "U1 @ fes.com" then all mails will be forwarded to SAP.
I would definitely NOT recommend this method but the decision is up to you.
P.S. The IP address of the SAP system is entered into the mail header of the email. This is standard practice in SMTP relay. You can suppress this header in Exchange

Inconsistencies data between ODS and RSA3 in SAP system (delta problem??)

I have a problem in my SAP BW production system. There is inconsistencies data between ODS (using tcode LISTCUBE) and Datasource in SAP system (tcode RSA3).
I'm using Datasource: 0FI_GL_10 and ODS: 0FIGL_O10.
In SAP system (using RSA3):

1. Check if there is a start routine / routine or not in transfer or update rules....and...i get nothing
2. Check the data using tcode FBL3N..but the data is ok
And then i tried to trace the process chain and find error on delta infopackage which pull these data

07.31.2008 : 2848 records --> error (ODS activation) --> request has deleted forever
08.01.2008 : 135679 records --> error (ODS activation) --> request has deleted forever
08.02.2008 : 135679 records --> successfull repeat delta action
From 30 July until 1 August there is an error on delta infopackage because
fail to activate ODS (No SID found for value 'RIM' of characteristic 0UNIT). On 2 August someone delete the red requests and repeat the delta and success. Is there any possibilities that this problem arise because of this? If this the cause, how to bring back 2848 and 231141 records which has deleted?

Problem in moving object from one SAP system to another....

Hi,
I have created a transport request in System A client 800.
I am trying to move the Transport request to System B client 900.
(Note: A and B are different SAP systems)
I first release the object going in system A client 800 using transaction se09.
Now I go to System B client 900 and then to transaction STMS. After this I click on display import queue for System A inside transaction STMS in System B. Then I go to EXTRAS ->Other Requests Add. The import queue name is defaulted by System A and then I add the Transport Request number. Then the system asks me to login in Sytem A client 800. I login successfully. But I get an error message:
"Transport control program tp ended with error code 0247
Errors: addtobuffer has problems with data- and/or cofile"
Can someone tell me how to solve this error ? What is the issue ?

Problem after deinstallation of JDK during SAP System running....

           I am working as a SAP BASIS trainee.I am facing some problem related with java and SAP System.
Actually an SAP System was already running on the my system and suddenly i required to work on eclips (an IDE for java). And to install eclips it required JDK 1.6 version.But as we know that for SAP System an JDK 1.4 version required only.
               I forgot and deinstalled JDK 1.4 and Installed JDK 1.6. and again tryied to installed eclips bt it was still throwing an error that it required JDK 1.6 and currently JDK 1.4 is running.
On the other hand SAP System was getting problem during SAP START ( dialog queue waiting time elapsed .......). and finally not working.
   I deinstalled JDK 1.6. now SAP System is working fine. It is getting started and everything is right.
Could i get any problem latter regarding to SAP Start??and why i cant use eclips on the same system??

You need to make sure that the SAP system uses the correct JDK. You can install two JDKs in parallel (don't upgrade but install the 1.6 JDK in a separate directory).
Anyway, NWDI should not be installed on the server but on a local workstation.

Daily morning report mentioning the availability of the SAP systems ?

We have been asked by the business team to send them every morning at 8h00, a report that would mention which SAP systems are available.
For the moment,we are doing that manually.
Of course CCMSPING has already been implemented on our Solution manager, but as you can imagine we generate emails only when the satelites systems are not availables.
But this is not what has been asked to us, the business team want to know which systems are available every morning.
I did some researchs about sap solution manager feature that could fulfill this requests but I couldn't find it.
The SLR (Service Level Reporting) can not be used : because SLR reports are generated weekly.
Any idea would be highly appreciated.

You can difine in trx SM36, a new JOB, in button SPOOL LIST RECIPIENT add every the email, or distribution list that you need. In the button STAR CONDITION must indicate PERIOD VALUES at 8:00 that every day.

Distributed landscape:
In distributed landscape, every instance can run on a separate host
- Central services instance for ABAP ( ASCS)
- Enqueue replication server instance (ERS instance ) for ASCS instance
- Database instance
- Primary application server instance (PAS)
High availability :
In high availability ,all above instances can run on seperate host. Here you can run all instance in switchover cluster infrastructure. That means ,for any instance if one node in cluster fails ,it switch over to other other node and still operations can run without any distrubance.
Additional SAP instance:
Additional SAP aaplication instance can be installed to scale the performance of an SAP system. It can be installed on one of the above instance host or on differnt host.
The term "additional application server instance "was introduced to replace term dialog instance from SAP Netweaver 7.1 and higher.
For more and detailed information ,you can refer to Installation guide for the SAP release you are planning to install and for DB/OS combination.

We would like to monitor the SAP ERP productive system from SAP Solution Manager.
Our current solution is based on CCMSPING agent that has been installed on the server of the satellite system.
This solution is not the ideal, because of the CCMSPING stops itself periodically.
Are there other ways, besides CCMSPING agent, to check availability of SAP system?
- User Exit
- Check of RFC connections, etc.

Could you please let me know some relevant notes/links or some useful documents to check whether our SAP system meets the requirements for ITS?
Basically I am looking for the minimum requirements in SAP R/3 side before going for ITS 620

Yes, ITS 6.20 is the most current release -and I am almost sure that this release will be at least one of the last releases of standalone-ITS.
Plug-In should fit to your portal on the one hand and your backend on the other hand. The plug-in you mentioned here sounds good ...
