Searching on the forum you can find threads about WM/PP interface settings.
(Re: WM Staging - Supply area to Production prder)
Whether WM/PP interface is active it depends on your config and master data as well.
    You should check:
    - config: SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > Define Production
    - master data: routing (proper work center is assigned), work center (proper production supply area), material master(FG) (production scheduling profile), control cycle (components)
In standard system storage type 100 is defined as an interim storage type (you can compare it to storage type 902, 914, 916, etc). In control cycles (WM master data; LPK1/LPK2/LPK3) you define for each components which is the production storage type.
In standard system storage type 914 is not used with material staging. 914 s.t. related scenario: GI (261) --> stock removel from normal storage type to interim storage type (914).
    100 s.t. related scenario: stock removal from normal s.t. to interim s.t. 100 --> GI (261).

  • Available stock shortfall of & in interim storage bin

    Hi gurus,
I am doing the movement type 261 in MIGO with reference to a reservation.
I am working with Warehouse Management and I want to know why the system is defined in automatic the storage type 100?
When I am doing the movement 261, I know that I have stock in the storage type 007 and I am putting this, but, the system is showing the following error message:
100000000026; Available stock shortfall of         10.000 M2 in interim storage bin
    Message no. L9040
    Diagnosis
In Customizing, the setting is such that no negative stock is allowed in storage type 100.  However, this posting will cause negative stock to exist in storage bin HE01 of storage type 100.
For my storage type 100 I do not have defined any strategy in the customising.
Could you help me with this, please?
    Kind regards.

  • INterim storage bin to unrestricted stock movemnet

    Dear All,
I have a problem in warehouse management
Step 1 After the GR(65000 units) my system will automatically create a TR and TO to the quality inspection .
Step 2 will clear the inspection lot by giving a Usage decision through the T.code QA32 to move the stock from quality to unrestricted stock
step 3 But the stock will not be going to the unrestricted area instead it is going to the intrim storage type 922 TR-Zone.
Step 4 If i see in the LS26 i am able to see the stock for put away as 65000 units and pick quantity as 65000 units and the stock type as quality
So the stock is still in quality, if i see the PO also it is showing that the stock is in quality
How can i move this out of the interim storage bin
I am pretty new to WM kindly advice me how to go about this ,
    Regards,
    D vasanth

A PCN must have got created.   Go to LU04,  mtype 321, enter your material.   It will display the PCN if any exists.
Select the PCN and create Transfer Order and confirm the TO

  • Effect of issuing Material directly from Interim Storage BIN?

    Dear Experts,
What is effect of issuing(311) material directly from Interim storage BIN without storing to Storage BIN.
Because i am unable to do LB11& LB12  for  both GR's(101) and TP(311) as it has directly picked from Interim Storage BIn to do
    TP(311).
So please someone explain me the effect of the above Scenario?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Olet Malla

You can do it but in general you should not allow picking from interim Storage Types.  For example you don't want Sales trying to pick materials sat in the PSAs, you don't want Production trying to pick from materials in 916 etc. etc.

  • Generate Interim Storage Bins

    Hi,
a SAP standard system in SPRO, Logistics Execution, Warehouse Management, Interfaces, Generate Interim Storage Bins contains any storage bin ?
    Best regards

    Hi,
Goods transfers in the WM system are processed by means of movement types. In the definition of the
movement types, it is possible to have interim storage bins addressed. you can have these bins generated automatically
    Example:
According to the definition of the WM movement type 501 (GR without Purchase order), the material is posted to the material storage bin automatically.
If you do not want to use this option, you have to create the storage bins maually using
    WM-Master Data-Storage Bin-Create-Manually
Activities: Generate the interim storage bins for your warehouse numbers
    Thanks,
    DV

  • Stop IM posting from interim storage bin

    Hi,
We have a WM activated where the Transfer order is created and posted automatically when any material movement is posted.
Now when the stock in WM is already allocated to delivery still its possible to post the IM.
    For e.g.
1 peice of  material 'ABC'  is available in IM and also in warehouse. A outbound delivery is created which has trigered a transfer order. Now the stock is lying in 916 interim storage type.
other user does a transfer posting movement (311 movement) of same material. Since the material is not available in the normal storage type, the transfer order is not created automatically.
Now the stock lies in 921 interim storage type.
I want to avoid such scenario. Is it possible to stop any posting in IM if the stock is not available in the normal storage type?
    Regards

    Hi Frenchy,
Thanks for your valuable input. This was something new for me.
I checked the settings in OMM8, the 'No stringent FIFO setting' is there for all the Interim storage type.
I think this will not help because when the IM posting is done, since there is no stock in normal storage type, system is not creating a transfer order (as per customization which is to created TO automatically). It only creates a open transfer requirement without finding a source storage bin.
However we have found another way to stop the posting. we have set a availability check rule to the transaction and movement type in IM which check the available stock during the posting and sets a waring/error message.
However this is at IM level.
Is it possible to stop the posting at IM via some setting in WM?

  • Stock transfer from storage bin to another storage bin.

    Hi,
i would like to know the method to be followed in order to transfer the materials from one storage bin to another within the warehouse and also within a storage type.
Also i would like to know how to transfer the material from one storage type to another.

As everyone has mentioned above, to manually create TOs to transfer stock, use LT01 w/ movement type 999. However, this method is limited to a single material at a time.
Depending on your scenario, you may want to set up storage type replenishment - where you regularly restock a smaller warehouse location from a larger one:
Example: Small warehouse section with customer counter service & larger warehouse where bulk items and bulk quantities are stored
Not sure if this is your scenario or not, but here goes:
Requirement is to use the "Large, small" picking strategy for the receiving storage type.
Material master records in that storage type need minimum and control quantities maintained on the WH2 tab
Run (or schedule) program RLLNACH1 to automatically create transfer requirements to transfer stock from bulk storage to the smaller storage type - and then, depending on your config, either stop as TR or automatically post os TOs.
    Good luck

  • Manage stock qty. in Storage bin for Inventory management

    HI all,
We are implemented Inventory Management (display stock of material for storage location).
I want to know is there any method in Inventory Managment to Manage stock of specific material in bin also.
Means User exactly should know the stock of specific material is located in Storage Bin.
Please suggest me the hole process or any customization
    Regards,
    Vraj

    Hi V raj,
I don't know whether i understood your question well. But i will answer in the way i understood.
To serve your requirement you need to have a Warehouse management, means to have a smooth warehouse bin wise storage.
But some companies are not willing to implement WM and they are finding a way with batch classification. They maintain batches for material and storage bin are maintain in a batch classification. So you can view it in MMBE also by going into the batch classification of the relevant batch.
And if you want to have a detail report you can develop a simple report or a query to retrieve batch classification data.
    For batch classification activation:
    1. Material must maintain "Batch management" tick in Purchasing and storage plant data views
    2. Create a seperate class for this using CL02
3  Create batch characteristic using CT04 (this is to maintain Storage Bin)
    4. Add classification view to each material and the relevant batch class.
    5. When you are doing the GR use "Batch" tab and "Classification" button to maintain relevant Storage bin data. (To update mass scale you can create a "Z" report getting help of a developer in your company)
    6. Now each batch you are maintained your storage bin view it trough MMBE (But only one batch classification) or in-house developed report ("Z") program
    Thanks & BR

  • Wm issue creating new interim storage bins

    Hi
How to create new interim storage area and assign to movement types
    G N Kumar

PLease confirm whether it is interim Storage Type or storge bin, i think it would be interm storage type (ext area for GR/ shipping area for GI - normally storage types with 9 series). If this is the case, you can do in the same way storage types are created and assigned to movement types.

  • Transferring of Storage Bins & Stock in newly Implemented Warehouse

    Dear all,
I want to Transfer Storage Bins & Stock in newly Implemented Warehouse.
Here IM is already there i.e there is stock in a IM.
    So please suggest.
    Regards,
    Rock

    Hi,
Since you already have stock at IM level follow these steps:
    1. Create a dummy SLOC or use existing empty SLOC.
    2. Move stock to this SLOC using mvnt type 311
    3. Activate WM for current storage location,Deactivate TR creation for 311 mvt type in WM, uncheck negative stock for intrem storage type (922 or 921)
    4. Move stock back to WHS and create TOs using mvnt type 999 and transfer stock to respective storage bins. Since the storage bins are huge in number use LSMW tool to upload. Refer below link for better clarity. If the stock is in interim storage type transfer the stock to destination bins with 999 movement type. Thanking you.

  • Storage Bin for Interim Storage Type 902 for GR

    Hi,
We know that the the dynamic storage bin for goods receipt for PO is the PO number. However, when we are posting GR, system creates TR with interim storage bin as material document number.
I looked into the movement type config. However, we can only state that whether interim bin should be cordinates or fixed bin or dynamic bin. It has no way to mention what that dynamic bin would be.
Can you please suggest a way to change the dynamic storage bin as PO number instead of material document number.
    Thanks,
    Shekhar

    Dear Shekhar,
Could you please check in view V_T308 (transaction code OMNF) whether the indicator "Dynamic bin material document" is set for your warehouse number and requirement type B?
    Best regards,
    Christiane

  • Creating dynamic storage bins

When you define a movement type, you can set up the system to create dynamic storage bins in the assigned interim storage area. In this case, the system uses the document number which triggered the stock movement as the coordinates for the interim storage bin.
For example, for a goods receipt, you can set up the system to use the purchase order number as the storage bin coordinates in the interim storage area for goods receipts.
These coordinates only exist as long as the quant is in the interim storage bin; afterwards, they are deleted.
Where do I do the config for the above scenario..
I tried creating bins for interim storage typees in LX20....after creating an interim storage area through referencing standard ones in IMG... I cant understand how the system creates dynamic bins for the movement type. Please help

    LX20 is for static bins.
The dynamic ones are created automatically by the system when the stock is moved to the area.
In the movement type configuration in the WM:
(LE -> WM -> Activities -> Define movement types)
Select your movement type and warehouse and make sure the SCR box is checked
Also check that the field is mapped correctly for the dynamic bin in
    LE-> WM -> Activities -> Define Requirements
Field Name is what is grabbed
