AVC-HD in AECS4/premiere bug ever fixed?

I saw a thread back from may describing a bug with avc hd rendering frames out of order....was this issue ever fix in some patch that the adobe udpater never found? I'm all up to date and i can't believe that a bug like this would persist for so long. Its crippling our workflow right now and the reverse dynamic link from premiere to AE creates an impossible workflow to get large projects done in reasonable time even with decent planning.
EDIT: I should note that this happens in premiere as well.

After working for the past few days in PrePro. I have realized that it also has the same out of order frames problem as AE it just happens much less frequently. That said it still happens frequently enough to ruin every project I have tried (My current project is less than 40 seconds).
It looks like any footage I shoot with my HS F10  is going to be a non starter with CS4.
The only thing left is for me to try re-encoding it in Media Encoder without piping it through Premiere.
I'll post how well that works out.

    We're using FrameMaker 8.0 and Acrobat 8.1.
Has Adobe ever fixed the bug where cross-references in text insets aren't converted to valid links in PDFs? In other words, do we still need to work around that bug by using newlink / gotolink hypertext markers in text insets?

    Robert:
As far as I can tell, FM8 still exhibits the undesirable behavior...

  • AVC-LongG Fails in Premiere Pro CC2014

    *** Software & Hardware ***
    Premiere Pro CC - 2014.0.1 (v8.1)
    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1
    Panasonic AJ-PX270 P2 HD Camcorder (Firmware: 11.31)
On 10/7/2014, Adobe Premiere Technical Support confirmed that AVC-LongG does not work in Premiere Pro 2014.
Specifically, if you have a single clip of multiple 4GB files, it takes at least 15 seconds before the clip plays at any location in the timeline. This makes editing impossible.
Moreover, Premiere Technical Support confirmed that several "drop outs" were not due to the camcorder or memory card, but were errors due to Premiere itself.
Since all high end camcorders support AVC-LongG, not having editing capability for AVC-LongG is a very serious bug which requires an immediate fix.

Thank you for your useful feedback.
Which camcorder were you filming AVC LongG25 with?
I am assuming this is a Premiere issue and not due to slight variations of AVC LongG25 by Panasonic, Sony, whomever?
I needed a camcorder with 4:2:2 green screen capability, and 4:2:0 for "run of the mill" talking head filming which would not eat up disk space.
At the moment, there are two competing three 1/3-inch CMOS sensor camcorders.
    Panasonic AJ-PX270 Manual (PDF) & Sony PXW-X180
I bought the Panasonic AJ-PX270. It does not have AVCHD format capability since I believe Panasonic assumes AVC-LongG is the preferred replacement for AVCHD.
The Sony PXW-X180 includes AVCHD format along with AVC-Intra and AVC-LongG.
If Premiere does not work with AVC-LongG, the Panasonic AJ-PX270 is a useless boat anchor since I must use the disk intensive AVC-Intra for every filming. With the Sony PXW-X180, I could at least film in AVCHD for non-green screen, and AVC-Intra for green screen.
Buying Final Cut Studio is not an option since I am completely Windows based. Avid systems are way to expensive. When Premiere Pro works, it is a very sophisticated editor.
Since high end camcorders now support only AVC-LongG instead of AVCHD, Adobe needs to repair AVC-LongG as soon as possible. You cannot use AVC-Intra for all filming since it uses just too much disk space. I am not pleased I have to return the Panasonic AJ-PX270 because AVC-LongG does not work in Premiere Pro.

I'm not sure I understand this. When I click save image as then try again it works fine for me. Can you clarify what you are trying to achieve?

It is better to use an external Download Manager (DM) if you are on dialup or have an unreliable connection.
An external Download Manager offers better support for resuming interrupted downloads than the built-in Firefox DM.
You can use the FlashGot extension to integrate an external Download Manager in Firefox.

This is most likely the way Firefox is set up on your end. What add-ons are you running since I don't see any listed. I need some more non-personal information from you. Please do the following:
*Click the Firefox button at the top left, then click the ''Help'' menu and select ''Troubleshooting Information'' from the submenu. If you don't have a Firefox button, click the Help menu at the top and select ''Troubleshooting Information'' from the menu.
Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
*At the top of the page, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
*Now, go back to your forum post and click inside the reply box. Press Ctrl+V to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

  • Annoyed with JVC/Final Cut Pro import problem; will they ever fix this?

Annoyed with Final Cut Pro JVC import problem; will they ever fix this?
I've shot footage on JVC GY-HD111E in the UK in 720p/25p PAL mode.
I'm trying to import lots of short clips (average 10 seconds) into Final Cut Pro (latest version with 720p/25p support) with a new Mac Pro maxed out with ram and 3 extra internal HDs.
Problem is, on a scene-break i.e. pause/stop, Final Cut detects this and creates a new clip, but it takes about 5 seconds to 'searching for media" before it starts the new clip. Because some clips are only very short, this 5 second delay sometimes means I only get the final few frames of a clip, rather than the entire 5 seconds or so of it.
JVC UK are blaming Apple and are saying it is up to them to fix it as Premiere and Edius does not have this problem.
However, Symbiosis in the UK (who do HD-Connect box) say that the JVC ProHD cameras do not wrap the shots up properly at the end, they are kind of left open and this creates problems on scene-breaks.
I've tried turning off the "create new clip on timecode break" etc, but it does not make any difference, when I do this it simply quits capturing on a scene break. Besides I have about 300 cutaways like this and I don't want to spend the rest of the year breaking them up on the timeline as this would be a futile and long workflow.
I'm importing and working on a native HDV 720p/25p timeline and this is the way I want to work. I've already imported and edited 4 hours of footage, but these 4 hours were easy as all 4 tapes had no start/stop points, they were recorded continuously from beginning to end of tape for 64 minutes each time so importing was no problem; 1 clip per tape.
But now I've come to my 5 tapes containing hundreds of cutaways I'm kind of screwed and need some advise on how I can import them natively in HDV without losing this 5 seconds off the beginning of each clip whilst FCP searches for the media each time.
I've been told this issue is definately with FCP, any ideas how I can get around this?

I haven't heard of this JVC/FCP problem, so I can't comment on it. However, whoever shot the cutaways didn't do you, the editor, any favors.
I've been doing video since 1984, and I've got to say, anyone who shoots a scene that is only 5 or 6 seconds long on tape is making a huge mistake, and it's been that way since the beginning of computerized editing in the late 70s.
Shoot at least 5 seconds of pre-roll before the shot begins, then roll tape for at least 5 seconds after you've got the shot. That's the protocol I've followed for 22 years now. Tape is cheap, edit suite time isn't.
But laying down only 5 to 6 seconds for a scene is wrong, IMO.

  • What bugs are fixed?

Is it possible to find out which bugs apple thinks they have fixed with a release of their software? I also have this issue with front row: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=485117&tstart=15
and from what I have been told, QuickTime is really the 'engine' behind playing music and videos and the ITunes (for example) is just a "skin" over this engine. Perhaps this is not true. Anyway, I would like to find out if the recent release of QuickTime fixes this bug. Also, is there anyway to find out from Apple if they plan to ever fix a particular bug? The only thing I use my mini for is as the head of my home theater, and the only reason I would upgrade is because they plan to fix this bug.
BTW, up until 3 months ago, I was a lifelong PC user. I thought that those PC/Mac commercials were really funny. Then I got a mac. All those people who had somehow convinced themselves that macs are more stable/secure/easier to use/etc. than a PC are just fooling themselves. I can't believe how much trouble I have had trying to do simple things and how much obfuscation I have gotten from people at the apple store, tech support. Just for grins, anyone here who thinks that mac is so great, try to play a song encoded as .flac in ITunes. Even better, try to get it to play two in a row without a gap between them. Then, go to an apple store and ask one of the 'geniuses' how easy that is to do.
Sorry for the rant... I feel better now.

Apple does not announce what bugs they fix. They almost never do for any of their computers either.
The current update was a security and minor bug fix, no major new additions or substractions.
The only way you can find out what updates do is to read through other websites where people "autopsy" the upgrade software and post what they find different in the code. Those are not highly reliable because Apple often includes things in their software that are not activated, just idle code.
If you click on the Apple links, all you will get are a direct link to the Update page from the users manual, to explain how updates are done, and a general message stating this is a "security and stability update."

  • Really Old Bug, no fix

I was searching for the solution to my timestamp bug and found a topic in the archive "UTA200-TM Firmware 1.01.08 timestamp bug".  The problem is, the firmware with the bug is 1.01.08, which is the "latest" version of the firmware.
Will this bug ever get fixed?  Are there other bugs? Like the phone log being blank, even after a phone call is place, recieved, and missed?

Try to call your phone provider they probably have new update for the software since this is bundled with TMobile.

  • Bug CSCun42967 fixed: ISE 1.2 : SNMP process stops randomly

As of June 9th, the status of this bug is "Fixed" with "Known Affected Releases" being 1.2(0.899), which is the one we are running.
Known Fixed Releases is (0) and then there is a link to the download area where I can download an update to 1.2.1. The release notes does not mention bug "CSCun42967"
Does anyone know if this bug has been fixed?

    Hi,
I just ran into the same issue.
I would assume that if it was fixed in 1.3 it would be mentioned in the release notes as resolved caveats. Can anyone confirm the problem is fixed in 1.3?
Soren, have you upgraded and is the issue resolved?
    Thank you :)

  • ACR 7.x known bugs and fixes

Since Adobe stopped supplying Camera Raw downloads, I've noticed that it's become harder to track bugs and fixes. Hopefully, someone here can put me straight on the current state of play.
Can anyone summarise the well-known problems with version 7, and when they were fixed (or are still ongoing)? Is there a 'changelog' somewhere? What is/are the main outstanding issues at the moment?
Unfortunately, I'm getting to that age where my short–medium term memory isn't very good at retaining this sort of information, so it's good to have it written down!

    Jeff,
I have been dealing with this since November. Steve G knows about it but hasn't had time to do anything. Here's the deal...I am on Windows 7 and Photoshop CS6. I shoot with a Canon 7D and G11.  I do all my initial work in the metadata template...my own info, description, keywords, location, etc. etc.  This creates an .xmp file. When the update from RAW 7.2 to 7.3 came through in November, I downloaded it, as I have all other updates. Then, suddenly, all images in folders with RAW files that had ANY metadata applied, would regenerate endlessly. This only happens with RAW files, not with folders containing jpegs or tifs.
I tried resetting preferences. I tried creating new folders. I have asked if this problem is seen with Nikon RAW files and I'm not sure there has been an answer. I think people have recreated this even with DNG files tho I am not sure. I do know that someone in Adobe has recreated it.
I then discovered that previous .8bi folders were no longer readily available. Getting to one is way, way, way above my ability and involved all kinds of ridiculous backflips but I finally got one. Then followed a solid week of me trying replace the 7.3 .8bi file with the 7.2. Of course, with no instructions, I was putting the wrong file in the wrong folder (32 bit and 64 bit). When I finally got THAT straightened out, it still didn't work. It took someone at Adobe taking over my computer to successfully revert to 7.2.
I lost hours and days of work time trying to deal with this. Meanwhile, should I buy a new camera, I won't be able to see my own RAW CR2 files and will, instead, have to convert to DNG, which, frankly, I find to be a royal pain. Am I peeved. You bet I am. I've been asking, pleading, begging for something to be done since November. Some thoughtful soul suggested I try updating to 7.4 to see if it fixed the problem (the 'fixed problems' listed for 7.4 does NOT mention the recalibration). You can understand, after the problems I had in November, why I will NOT do this until I am absolutely sure the current, latest update has fixed my problem. And I will NOT spend another two hours on the phone with adobe alleged tech help to finally get someone in India who doesn't know what I am talking about. This forum has been far more helpful but please underestand, I am an old school film photographer who has had my share of problems understanding this digital stuff and mucking around with the basic technology of my computer only leads to horrifying outcomes for me.
Jeff, are you with Adobe? Can you look into this?

Has Apple ever fixed the fan issue that results from upgrading the hard drives on 2009-2010 iMacs?
My CPU fan defaults to 3000RPM.  I can rev the fan higher with 3rd party Fan controllers, but no lower than 3K.

OR you can short out the original temp sensor, to make the fans rev at quieter speeds.
You can also install an optical temp sensor in place of the old one, it will still read temps and adjust the fans accordingly, just not as good as an internal sensor.
    Use something like this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-922-9229-Cable-Temp-Sensor-Optical-iMac-27-inch-Late -2009-2010-/111106349896

Is anyone aware if the battery life (in ML) "bug"is fixed  yet, Or is it something that happens toa ll all instalaions and we have to live we it?

It's not a problem here. I'm not sure that it's a bug. I helped someone in this forum on an issue like this and the problem was linked to the use of a 3rd party software using too many processing cycles.
Activity Monitor is a good tool to identify such misbehavior.

  • DPC Latency problems ever fixed on P43 Neo?

I was thinking about buying the P43 Neo-F but I was wondering if the DPC problems were ever fixed in an official bios? It's been a long time since they were reported so they should be but I thought I should check first.

    Quote
Assuming the P43-Neo is the same thing as the Neo-F(because the Neo-f has no downloads) then the newest version is 1.a released on 8/18/09.  I have no idea when the China bios was released.
The latest version was released on 08/13/2009.  The name of the BIOS is A7519ICI.1A2.
In case you should have DPC Latency Problems that lead to drop-outs during Live Audio and video streams, you can contact MSI Technical Support and they will officially provide you with this BIOS Release.  If you don't have any problems (no lags etc. related to DPC Latency Problems), then keep using the BIOS Versions of the standard release series.
    Quote
If I can't download it from the main bios page then it's not official IMO.
If you can't download it from the main BIOS page, this means that the Release is not available for public download, not that it is not an official MSI BIOS Release.
    Quote
Plus, isn't that bios kinda old compared to the ones listed in the normal download section.
Nope, as you can see it is quite up-to-date (it is updated on a regular basis (to keep it up-to-date with the standard series releases and the fixes these contain).

I have no idea when the China bios was released.
