Avchd compatible with fcp7

is Panasonic AG-AC130 compatible with FCP7...I know there's a free plug in that needs to be added...what is the name of it?

Panasonic has a list of available plugins/software here: http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/support/software.asp  Check the user's manual for the camera to find out which one you need for that particular model.

  • Avchd compatible with imovie  11?

is imovie 9.0.4 compatible with avchd?

Yes, it works fine with 25 or 30 fps media provided you input direct from camera, memory card or a hard disk copy of the complete AVCHD file system.
You cannot import individual .MTS files taken from the STREAM folder unless you transcode them first.
To import 50 or 60 fps media the only way is to transcode individual .MTS files first

  • Is either iFrame or AVCHD compatible with FCS?

I have recently bought Final Cut Studio on eBay. My camcorder can record in iFrame or AVCHD. Are these compatible with Final Cut Studio?

AVCHD is...but it depends on the version of FCP you have, too.  AVCHD has no standard and every camera shoots different formats of it.  Newer versions of FCP of course will be more compatible with the multiple formats, so FCP 7 would be the best to have. But note that 1080p60, which is a newer AVCHD format, isn't compatible with FCP Studio at all.

  • Is Compressor 4.1.2 backwards compatible with FCP7?

Last year I transferred FCP7 to my 2013 MBP from my 2008 MBP and for whatever reason Compressor did not migrate over. I tried copying it and moving it but it will not work. So I figured I would buy the new Compressor but I want to check first to see if it's backwards compatible.

Is there any interoperability? No. Can you export self-contained movies from FCP 7 and import them into Compressor/  Of course.
Many experienced FCP editors advise against "transferring" or migrating any of the FCS applications. If you were the purchaser of the Final Cut Studio suite yourself, you should still have the install disks, from which you can easily install C 3.5. That's the recommendation for most reliable performance,

  • Is Mac compatible with AVCHD video format?

i'm looking for a videocam and trying to figure out for sure if Mac is simply not compatible with the AVCHD 60p format?   or it can support AVCHD format but only at lower frame rates?    i was looking at a Sony camcorder, and it said specifically that iMovie cannot support AVCHD 60p format.    is this a hardware issue?  is it a quicktime issue?   is it an OS issue?   (i'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8   if Lion, or Mountain Lion now support AVCHD 60p format, please let me know).   thanks

I just did a Google search for your question. I recommend you do the same. Lots of stuff pops up.

  • Is there any way to create a file compatible with Premiere Pro

Is there any way to create a file in Premiere elements that is compatible with Premiere Pro and that can be used in Premiere Pro

    Consternation
The important information that I do not see mentioned nor offered by you.
1.What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system it is running? What version of Premiere Pro do you want to use?
The Premiere Pro Import Supported Formats seem to indicate that it will accept the Premiere Elements project.prel (project file) on Windows Only.
Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Supported file formats
This may or may not be possible depending on damaged projects or outdated elements.
    2. If you want to export your Premiere Elements Timeline to a file saved to the computer hard drive and subsequently import that into your Premiere Pro version, that "should" work. You would go to the Premiere Elements Publish+Share/Computer/ and make a selection based on what the Premiere Pro Import Supported file formats are and what you need. I can help you with that. But, details first.
But, just a "beware"...when you get to Premiere Elements 11 or 12 (if that is the version involved) Publish+Share/Computer/ there are several categories, but all you see is Adobe Flash Video, MPEG, and AVCHD. The rest of the list that includes AVI and QuickTime which both need to be scrolled to all of the time to see them, not just sometimes, with the thin scroll bar to the right of the list of choices. You can export files
with AVI file extension, under Publish+Share/Computer/AVI
with MOV file extension, under Publish + Share/Computer/QuickTime
And, if you do not have QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements, you are not going to have presets for the QuickTime export.
Remember, there is more to an export than just its file extension. Know your other export properties as well.
In many cases, you can customize the export settings to suit your requirements.
Problems will exist if you are trying to go from Premiere Elements Windows to Premiere Pro Mac or vice versa.
I would be glad for the opportunity to help you with this issue, but details are needed.
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • Moved Premiere Elements 10 project Error: "Project is not compatible with current version of Premiere Elements"

After moving an entire client folder from an external hard drive to an internal one, the client's video, created in adobe premiere elements 10, will no longer open in adobe premiere elements 10. It appears to be loading the project, and instead of completing, the following error message is displayed: "The project is not compatible with current version of Premiere Elements."
The same thing occurs when attempting to open the archive files.
New projects, and unmoved projects behave properly.
    Moved projects receive this error.

    Archiving Aspects of this.....
First let clear the matter of the "archiving" as a life saver.... We do not appear to be on the same wave length.
    a. I am talking about File Menu/Project Archiver with its Archive project and Copy project options. This feature is a safety net to save you when you
inadvertently disconnect source media from the project file. With the Archive option (Trimmed Folder result), you get saved to the computer hard drive (safe keeping) a copy of the project file plus copies of the media that were taken to the Timeline. With the Copy option (Copied Folder result), you get copy of the project files plus copies of much more.
    b. Instead, you appear to be talking about "archiving" in the context of AutoSaves. AutoSaves are saved snapshots of the project at various phases of the edit. They suffer from the same shortcomings of the original project that has been disconnected from its source media.
When you import media into a project, all you get are copies of the originals in the project. But, those copies need to trace back to originals at the locations where they were when first imported into the project. Moving, renaming, deleting files/folders that went into the project after the project save close leads to some very time consuming messy situations.
    What to do....
If you can, put everything back the way it was. If not.....
    Let me emphasis some factors..
    You wrote

Here you mention specifically "client's video". Later you detail with .mod files converted to .avi. What kind of .avi? If you have converted to AVCHD.avi or H.264.avi, they have been found not to be compatible with Premiere Elements. You should not be able to import them into any new or old project.
From what you described, I am envisioning
    "Video" Folder
    which contains 2 folders named
    "Timestamped Folder" with .avi files
    and
"DVD" Folder with the project file (project.prel)
The project file has many files generated automatically in the course of it workflow. Where do you have them going?
(See Premiere Elements  10 Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Discs). If you have the Scratch Discs directed
"Same As Project", then we would expect all those files to be going to the DVD Folder in the above scenario.
If we could open the project and get greeted with some "Where is the file.....?" messages, that might give us some hope.
But that is not the case.
Consequently from what you have said, I am suggesting that the path of least resistance is try to recreate the "before".
    Please review and consider.

  • FC Studio 2 compatible with Snow Leopard?

    H there,
I am in the process of buying a new computer, upgrading from a G4. I use Final Cot Studio 2 (with FCP6) and wonder, if this is compatible with snow leopard. I tired to find an answer on this, but a lot of people seemed to have problems when they install snow leopard. In my case, it would be installing Final Cut from the CD's and them upgrading to the latest version. Ideally, I would like to wait and not buy FCP7 yet. Can anyone advice me on the compatibility?
    Many thanks,
    Anita

From what I've read, it is important to install FCP 6 and all updates from the original install discs over a clean install of SL.
Problems seem to arise with upgrade installs.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is the Canon Legria HF M56 compatible with Final Cut Pro X

I am new to Mac and new to Final Cut Pro X. I am looking to buy a new HD Video Camcorder to use with my new computer/software and wondered whether or not the Canon Legria HF M56 is compatible with Final Cut Pro X.
If it is, do you have to import the footage directly from the Camcorder, or can you first save the files to the Mac and import them that way?
I currently use a Sony HandyCam HDR-SR10 which produces AVCHD .mts files. I have these saved on my Mac after transferring them over from my PC but Final Cut Pro X cannot import them. Very frustrating for a professional app to be unable to import these files. Even Cyberlink Power Director can use these files.
    Thanks for your help

  • Fcpx coexist with fcp7 - separate hard drive?

I have a lot of FCP7 projects that need to be preserved and perhaps edited in the future currently on the intermal hard drive and using OSX-6  Would it make sense to buy a firewire disk, make it a startup disk for Lion and Final Cut Pro X, so I can move forward to FCPX and still conserve the existing projects?   I have read the Apple advisory suggesting to keep the two programs on separate partitions.  My internal disk is not suitable for making a second partition. I also have several TB of Final Cut Pro 7 video files on external drives.

    Ian R. Brown wrote:
There is absolutely no need to make a second partition.
    Hey Ian.
For the past 15 months I've run both Final Cuts on the same partition and as you've pointed out to others numerous times the two apps coexist nicely on the same (non-partitioned) drive. So I agree with the advice except…
I have found a reason to partition, which I'm going to do in the next week. I've happily running FC Studio and CS3 on Snow Leopard. However, I have heard from folks who know a lot more about this stuff than I do that FCPX will run better on Lion amd Mt Lion. Also, I often find the camera manufacturer's  import plug-ins are not compatible with my "ancient" OS and I am then forced to use our MBP, which runs 10.7, for import – or employ work-arounds. So I will have a dual boot system – SL and ML
Time will tell whether it was worth the hassle.

  • What's a camcorder that's compatible with Final Cut Express

I just got final cut express and I am looking for a camcorder from $200 to $400 that's compatible with it. I don't know much about camcorders, and some simple straightforward suggestions would be much appreciated Thanks!

Would you like to use tape or a tapeless storage variety?
Tape cameras are miniDV or HDV, both work fine with FCE. HDV may well be out of the price range.
A base model AVCHD camera (tapeless) will also be fine.
Note: Standard AVCHD is OK but many cameras use variants like AVCHD Lite. Read the fine print.

  • Are Compressor files compatible with DVD Studio Pro?

I am buying Final Cut Pro X and Compressor, but I am working on a school project that needs to be finished in DVD Studio Pro. Would the compressed files be compatible with DVD Studio Pro even though FCP7 and FCPX are not compatible?

Yes.  Compressor 4 (or any version) will create the DVD-compliant files that are used in DVDSP.

I am looking to use a sony Cybershot 16.2 Megapixel HD digital camera to make some in-house videos and thout that this would be some great starter video software, but I want to make sure that it will be compatible with my system.

Premiere Elements is absolutely compatible with OSX Lion.
If your camera is able to shoot in 1080i AVCHD video, make sure that when you start up your Premiere Elements project you select the correct project settings for this video format. Parts 1 and 2 of my free 8 part Basic Training tutorials show you how to correctly set up a project and get media into it.

He could not open, and a message box popped up:   "The project is not compatible with the current version of Premiere Elements".

As said, you cannot open a Premiere Elements 12 Windows project file (named project.prel) in Premiere Elements 12 Mac. And vice versa.
    Details
Given that your source is imported into a Premiere Elements 12 Windows project and placed on its Timeline for edit. That Timeline content cannot get out of the program without export. Export choices are found in the Publish+Share section of the program.
In your case, you want to take the Timeline content of Premiere Elements 12 Windows and export it to a format with which Premiere Elements 12 Mac supports (look at .mov or .mp4). In this regard, in Premiere Elements 12 Windows look at Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD and one of its .mp4 presets or Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime and one of its .mov presets (suggested H.264 video codec).
Those exports will be saved to the computer hard drive of the Windows computer. Then email the .mov or .mp4 file (beforehand, check the
email carrier's specification for that). Depending on the circumstances, you could transfer the file to a USB Flash Drive for the sharing.
Remember, sharing the .mov and .mp4 involves "whole" video. Depending on the edits, the video may need to be cut by the receipent. You are not dealing with the project file. The story would be different if this sharing and editing is done from Premiere Elements Windows to Premiere Elements Windows. And, if that were the case, then you would have to assure that the source media of the project traveled with the project file. (See Project Archiver feature of the program.)
That is a rough sketch of the situation. I can fine tune the details further if necessary.
    Please review and consider.
    Thanks.
