AVCHD "Rethinking The Workflow"

I have been trying to edit 3 camera multicam but unsuccessfully due to drives speeds wherein my AVCHD that was transcoded to ProRes422 HQ and ProRes422 LT and during the timeline multicam edit stops and gives me a series of messages not the least of which is something about dropped frames which I've been told doesn't happen on AVCHD yet all in the Apple support groups have concluded that my answer to solve the problem is RAID which I am going to do as soon as I can get drive space free'd up from a Windows (boot camp) drives.
In the meantime I am wondering if there is another work around to get me through these projects that I have in AVCHD until such time as I can get the drives installed and all the Mac video media transferred.
So, my projects are all recorded in AVCHD 1920x1080 24mbs but will be output to DVD Standard Def at 16:9 format which I believe is 720 x 405 widescreen (not 4:3 letterbox . . which some call anamorphic)
Thus, I am to wonder if there is a workaround solution here that would allow me to use the AVCHD files and have them down res'd to the final media (video) type and in the process the media files would be significantly reduced in size and stream and I could get this backlog of 3 camera multicam projects out the door so that I can focus on the ultimate solution to allow me to do HD multicam in the future?
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions or needs more info please advise and "Thank You" kindly in advance for your help and input.

I believe you're only having problems because you have 3 video streams playing at the same time. The render codec is the codec of your timeline. You should not need to alter this.

Great! I will do that today immediately after I figure out how to get rid of the "pbudsara.exe" trojan virus that has somehow infected ALL four of my PC's that are slowly moving out the door :o)
Glad to hear that that the dropped frames is only in the playback and not on the video itself cuz the latter would affect my output the former would not but is just a nuisance. However, I'm really thinking that for now I'd be ahead to do the down rez during the transcoding process to get me over the hump and pump out these projects and get caught up since I have a tutor coming next week or even this weekend so I can maybe learn some of the beyond basics of FCP. I'm anxious to get as proficient on FCP as I am currently on Avid however I think I will go further because of lots of reasons.

AVCHD to SD Workflow?

I'm working on a multiclip project that was shot with one AVCHD camera and one SD camera. I found out you can't mix two formats in a multiclip sequence so that means I have to either Upscaling SD or Downscaling HD. I figured the second option makes more sense since the footage will likely be going out to DVD. (yes I realize either way something is going to look not as good, i've accepted that.)
As such I was curious as to what the workflow would be. I figure I should use Compressor but wasn't sure what settings I should use (specifically the frame size to ensure the footage comes out 16:9).
Also, I've brought the AVCHD footage in as Pro Res (Proxy), but wasn't sure if I should bring it in at the full pro-res then convert to SD or if the Proxy would be good enough?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To the second point - ProRes Proxy is not good enough source. You'll want to reconvert them into ProRes or ProRes LT and then convert to DV. You could also use Toast (if you have it) and you can do it all in one step (from the original .mts files)

I started getting these errors on one of my lists that has several workflows running on it. The strange thing is it has been running pretty much error free for 1.5 years and we have not made any changes to the workflows and no updates have been applied prior
to the errors staring.
It is typically always the same workflow but it doesn't always happen, only some of the newly added list items will error. If I simply cancel the current instance and manually start it again it runs fine to completion and it only seems to error out
at the start.
Most of the other workflows pause/wait for a status change but I will be reviewing all the workflows to confirm there is no locking conflict. I have added a Wait to one other workflow that I know will update the list item on startup, it is populating
the Title column but even after that I am still getting the error.
I noticed in the TraceLogs, 2 errors that started on Feb 2 and I could not find them in any previous logs (went back many days with no occurrences).

The "Field ID"{49af83c9...} listed is a Lookup column to a Clients list on the same site.
Any suggestions on what could be causing the sudden errors. I will be reviewing all other workflows but as I mentioned previously, this system has been working great up until Feb 2 with no changes to the lists or workflows for 3-6+ months.

Our SPF 2010 server is relatively small to many setups I am sure. The list with the issue only has 4456 items and there are a few associated lists, eg lookups, Tasks, etc see below for count.
Site Lists
Engagements = 4456 (Errors on this list, primary list for activity)
Tasks = 7711 (All workflow tasks from all site lists)
Clients = 4396 (Lookup from Engagements, Tslips, etc)
Workflow History = 584930 (I periodically run a cleanup on this and try to keep it under 400k)
Tslips = 3522 (Engagements list can create items here, but overall not much interaction between lists)
A few other lists that are used by workflows to lookup associations that are fairly static and under 50 items, eg "Parters Admin" used to lookup a partners executive admin to assign a task.

working fine and no changes were made to the workflow.
I have tried a few suggestions, i.e. adding a pause before any ‘Update’ action (which didn’t help because the workflow past this action without incident); checked the data type being written
to the fields (the correct data types are being written); and we even checked the list schema to ensure the list names and the internal names are aligned (they
are), but we still cannot figure out why the workflow is still throwing this error.
We located the area within the workflow step where it is failing and we inserted a logging action to determine if the workflow would execute the logging action but it did not, but wrote the same error message.
The workflow is a Reusable Approval workflow designed in SharePoint Designer 2010 and attached to a content type.
The form associated with the list was modified in InfoPath 2010.
Approvers would provide their approval in the InfoPath form which is then read by the workflow.
Side note - items created after the workflow throws this Unknown Error some seem to be working fine.
We have deleted the item in question and re-added it with no effect.
Based on what we were able to determine there don’t seem to be any consistency with how this issue is behaving.
Any suggestions on how to further investigate this issue in order to find the root cause would be greatly appreciated?

I understand that the reusable workflow doesn’t work properly now. Have you tried to remove the Update list item action to see whether the workflow can run without issue?
If the workflow runs perfectly when the Update list item action is removed, then you need to check whether there are errors in the update action. Check whether the values have been changed.

Payroll area locked.How to Stop the workflow during this period ?

Dear experts,
In the travel workflows, after all the approvals, there is a standard task(Custom) with a custom method(BUS2089 Enhanced).
This method updates the infotype 2002 (Attendances). This works fine for the whole month except during the payroll run which will be for 3-4 days after 20th of every month.
We have maintained the exception for this when the control record is in the status '1' or '4', by passing a temporary error to the workflow.

As i understand the workflows can be restarted after solving the temporary errors.But this Temp error will only be solved after the payroll record is becomes 'Exit Payroll'.
The system attempts for 3 times in the period of 30 minutes and then the tempoarry error becomes a permanent error and this way the workflows goes into a permanent error which cannot be restarted even after the payroll is exit.Due to this may workflows are unable to update the Infotyp 2002 however their trips are approved at all levels.
This counter of 3 times and 30 minutes, I belive the system is taking from the error monitoring program (RSWWERRE / SWWERRE) in SWU3.
I am thinking of putting the workflow into 'Wait' state till the period when the Payroll is locked. This way , we can avoid the workflow even from going into temporary error.
Can anyone help in this regard ? Do we need to add a WAIT step in the WF Definition or control in the method code itself ?
Does WAIT UNTIL (ABAP Keyword) works for 3-4 days of payroll run if we implement in the method code itself?

But , Can you pls put some more information on why we need to avoid WAIT UNTIL in Tthe ABAP ?
Wait Steps are only used where you have 1 event which the workflow would expect ...moreover this would require more effort in terms of implementation...( you will have to create an event manually after your payroll is open).
I would suggest create an virtual attrubute of the BO which will populate a whetherr the Payroll is locked or unlocked... then use this attribute as a start condition in the conditions tab of your step. this would stop the workflow until the payrol is open...

Which field is the workflow trigger for a Contract Agreement ?

I am not sure if this has been answer before or if this is the correct forum. If not, apologies in advance and do direct me to the appropriate topic/forum.
I have an inquiries with regards to Contract Outline agreement and workflow trigger.
Based on my company configuration, the trigger is based on the changes in value and release strategy.
What I am unsure is that which field the workflow-trigger checks?
Does SAP checks the field "Target Value" in contract header, or the sum of net value in each of the contract items?

In contracts, the target value is used for the release strategy determination and not the net contract value. If you maintain a target value in the contract header, this value is set in field CEKKO-GNETW to determine the strategy. If no target value exists on header level, a cumulation of the target values of the items is carried out and used for the release strategy determination.

I am created a drop shipment order with all the setups done . now i have booked the sale order as source type external. but when i run the workflow background process , after completing the report when i check the sale order line status it changes to "closed" instead of "awaiting shipping".

How to purge the workflow which is in process

Hi Friends,
I am facing one problem in the AME Workflow.
when a user submit a page for approval process, workflow engine invokes . and in the hr_api_transcations table transacation id is created for that workflow transacation. now the problem is, if i purge that workflow process using concurrent program 'PURGE OBSELETE WORKFLOW RUNTIME DATA' . it is deleting the workflow. but when i see the hr_api_transacation table still the transacation id for that workflow is active.
Example :-
when i see through through the responsibility (workflow administrator web applications)=>Administrator workflow=>Status monitor
when i type the item key say some x and search for the workflow status i cant see the workflow status. i can see it is deleted.
but when i type the same item key in the hr_api_transacation
like :- select * from hr_api_transactions where item_key='X' i can see the status of this transacation is active and workflow is in pending.
can anyone explain me why system is behaving like.. how to stop the workflow process and how to delete the transacation id from the table.

Seems that the transport error is showing that your ID has locked the Workflow (user REDDYRAN).
Can you do a syntax check of the workflow transported in this transport - in pftc and swdd? Do we get any error?
Also see if you can execute FM SWD_WFD_REPLICATE_FROM_9999 in Quality (in SM37) - provide the IM_TASK = WSxxxxxxxx (your workflow number).

Please try using the below cmdlet format to register workflow service to your SharePoint QA server again per the following post with similar error, then check results again.

Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run.

Greetings All,
I am having issues with a SharePoint Designer workflow. This is a SharePoint 2013 environment, I'm using SharePoint Designer 2013 and working on a SharePoint 2010 workflow. I'm developing this as a SharePoint 2010 workflow because I need to do
impersonation.
The environment and workflow have been running, in the past week, without issue. I went to add a couple steps and now I cannot publish the workflow. While in SharePoint Designer, I receive the error:
"Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run." When I click the Advanced button on the error dialog, the message is "Unexpected error on server associating the workflow."
That is all the error information I have available; nothing is in the log files.
I have investigated this error and tried the following:
Cleared the SharePoint Designer cache.
The WebApp.UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity was at 7000 so I increased it to 10000. Restarted the servers (which may not have been necessary) and tried again receiving the same error. I then increased it to 30000 with the same error result.
Since this is a large workflow, I tried created a workflow with a single action, write to workflow log, with the same error results.
I reboot the servers and try again and now I can publish the small test workflow but not the original. However, neither will run. When I attempt to manually run the small test workflow on an item, I get an error: "Sorry something went wrong.
An unexpected error occurs. I checked the log files for the correlation id and nothing, nothing was logged for the error. ~arg~
Also, now no workflows can be published in this web app. Not just the one I was working on but none of them!
Does anyone have a clue what has happened to the SharePoint 2010 workflow service? Or some suggestions for me to try?

I appreciate it but if you see my original post, this is a SharePoint 2010 workflow that cannot be published; which has now caused all SharePoint 2010 workflows in the same web app to error.
Your first link is specific to SharePoint 2013 workflows.
Your second link refers to the UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity. If you read my original post, I've already tried this and I've tried to publish a small (single activity) workflow.
Your third link also refers to large workflows with many approval activities. My workflow doesn't contain any approval activities.
And you fourth link refers to 2013 workflows not 2010.
My issue is with publishing and running a SharePoint 2010 workflow in SharePoint 2013.

Workflow Error Message: System Account - The Workflow could not set Content Approval Status

This is the first time I try an approval workflow. I am using a template in MS Word and assigned an approval workflow to it. The approval workflow is only going to one person in this case.
When I start the work flow the following 3 error messages show up:
Workflow Error Message: System Account - The Workflow could not set Content Approval Status. Enable content moderation for this list and run the workflow again.
Workflow Error Message: System Account - The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the e-mail has a valid recipient.
Workflow Error Message: System Account - The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly.

Hi,
For the first error: Did you set Content Approval in the workflow? If so, see if you have it in the versioning settings of the list settings.
For the second error: double check your recipient is set up as being valid. Did you type in the email address or is it referring to a people picker field? also, make sure that in the workflow for the email that you actually populated it in the
To: field.
for the third error: I suspect that either your farm is not configured for email. Or, this error is a knock on from the second error. If you get the second error rectified it may clear this error. If not then double check the email settings
for your farm.
