Avchd thumbs not seen? Even in Bridge??

Perhaps it's been discussed before (I searched, really), but can't find much about this. My Canon DSLR files are visible to preview, but my Sony avchd files are only visible when I open them in PPro. Bridge doesn't preview them either (Mac OS 10.6, PPro CS5).
I suppose I could make a copy (with VLC or such), but it's time consuming and probably degrades the image. I might only use 5 or 10 avchd clips, anyway, so making 60 copies seems a waste. Besides, I'd just like to preview the clips! In SOME software!

The only thumbnails you can see in the Media Browser are for Panasonic P2 clips. If you'd like to see others, make a request: Adobe Feature Request/Bug Report Form
Bridge won't let you preview AVCHD clips, either. However, there is another application that you already have that will: OnLocation. It will let you access the AVCHD folder structure a little more sanely, and you can even create an OnLo project into which you "import" the AVCHD clips you want. From there, you can access the OnLocation project in the Premiere Pro Media Browser and import all or some of the clips from the OnLo project.

two things to be looked upon in this case. First thing is about the battery. Once the battery has enough charge in it we can try a force restore on the phone to re-install the iOS.

There have been a few threads about this. The feature seems to have gone missing in Mountain Lion even though the Help for Preview still mentions it.

Ipod not seen on computer or iTunes, and has no icon while loading...

my iPod Video 30GB has worked fine on my PC since I got it, and everytime I plugged it into my PC, the iPod screen displayed the message "Do not disconnect the USB cable". Just some few days ago, the message was not displayed at all, and the iPod was not seen on iTuned or on My Computer. The iPod still gets recharged, but it does not show up, and does not display the "Do not disconnect USB cable". I have connected the iPod on my a mac and it worked perfectly fine even though my iPod is Windows Formatted. But it just does not work on the pc anymore. please help! I have tried so many things but nothing seems to work!!!!

BB Passport: After upgrading to 10.3.1, the USB key are not seen by the OS

There a lot of issues being discovered by users doing the upgrade OTA or using Link. And they are varied. It's had to say whether your problem another of these issues or something else. Those I trust are recommending a clean OS install using an autoloader as so far there are not the same problems afterward.
You could try the autoloader route. Do a backup first. After the clean OS install, test before you do a restore and install app. If problem is gone, then you know the clean OS works. The next question will be if the problem returns when you restore or add apps.

HELP - BBM does not work on Playbook (Bridged)

Hi Folks,
Looked into other threads but all problems seem to be related to older versions.
I am new to the whole Blackberry Lifestyle.
Currently own, Playbook (wireless) and Torch 9860 for about two weeks - enjoying them independently.
ANY HELP would be appreciated.
Just tried the Bridge function but the BBM does not work.
It is funny cause my Playbook does get a notification for any BBM I receive, the remote works, the contacts can be seen on playbook but when I click on BBM notification it I get a message "Your Version of Blackberry Messenger is not compatible with Blackberry Bridge. Download the latest version of BBM to use it on your playbook.
I did what I normally do - googled it. Found out the specs and I do have all updated apps.
On my 9860 I have
7.1.0 System
Bridge 2.0.0.35
BBM 6.1.0.55
This is not linked to BES or anything - purely personal.
I have already restarted my phone and playbook with no luck.
I am new, so not sure of the difference between stuff like hard set, shutdown etc etc or other technical terms - so would appreciate if you assume that I am a complete dummy.

Dvd drive not seen in boot camp

I just installed Windows 8.1 in Boot Camp. However, windows does not seen the internal DVD drive. It is not even in Device Manager. I have installed the latest Apple drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

JPG images not displayed correctly in Bridge and Photoshop (Mac OS)

I am using CS4 under OSX 10.4.11 on a PowerMac G5 Quad with 23" Apple cinema display. Images which have been captured as JPG are displayed fine by Preview, but when opened in Bridge, Camera Raw or Photoshop. the colours are all "washed out". The attached screen capture should give an idea of the difference, with the upper being Camera Raw (image settings) and the lower being Preview. My monitor has been calibrated and I'm using sRGB IEC61966-2.1 colour space in Camera Raw and Photoshop. The colours displayed by Preview are pretty close to "real life". I find it virtually impossible to adjust the colours in Photoshop to get back to anything similar.
After opening the image in Photoshop without adjustment, and Save As JPEG with embedded color profile, Preview displays the new image the same as Photoshop. Save As JPEG without embedded color profile, and Preview displays this copy just like the original. It seems that Photoshop is making different (incorrect) assumptions about what color space to use when there is no embedded color profile. Shouldn't it assume sRGB like virtually everything else (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRGB)? Or is its interpretation of sRGB incorrect? How can I fix this?

I can unambiguously and in good faith represent to you that my color management, from capture to print, is as spot-on as anyone with any kind of setup can hope to achieve. Unequivocally and without qualifications.
Now, first things first: Forget about trying to synchronize color management across the point applications lumped together only by Adobe marketing fiat into a variety of meaningless "creative suites". Concentrate on Photoshop. Do not try to use Bridge to synchronize anything.
The "suites" are a totally artificial construct created by Adobe bean counters and marketing types. The point applications (i.e. the individual programs clumsily bundled together, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) are developed independently by separate engineering teams that are not only not in the same building, but in different cities, different states of the American Union, and even in different countries. They have very little communication among them, if any, as evidenced by repeated posts in these forums by Photoshop engineering staff urging us, the end users, to let the other teams know in their own forums that a given problem exists and is actually affecting our work.
Enough said about the cause of the problem. The end result is that Color Management is at very, very different levels of progress and sophistication in each individual point application, with only Photoshop fully entitled to be considered state of the art.
Secondly, a disclaimer: I have been hanging on to my CRT monitors and take care of them as Jascha Heifetz used to take care of his Stradivarius. I don't know what I will do if I manage to outlive the usefulness and accuracy of my CRTs (unlikely at this point). I have despaired in futile efforts to bring the luminosity of any LCD monitor down to where I would feel comfortable calibrating and profiling it. I believe my monitors are the foundation of my color management efforts.
Especially if you have one of the extreme wide-gamut LCD or LED monitors, you'll face an uphill battle.
Be careful to avoid any version 4 icc profiles, whether canned or generated by your calibration software. Stick to version2 icc profiles. Ask the manufacturer of your calibration software/hardware if in doubt.
Here are some not-too-recent, but thoroughly representative screen shots of the calibration results I obtain with my monitors, which I calibrate and profile often and regularly (I validate the calibration at least several times per month).
In a nutshell, my color management practices and settings mirror those described by Bruce Fraser, Jeff Schewe, Andrew Rodney and Gary Ballard's site. I have learned from all of them.
My working color space is ProPhoto RGB. I choose to work with PSD and PSB files. As a long-time, rabid JPEG hater, I only rarely deal with JPEGs, using them sporadically to illustrate a point in this forum or elsewhere in the web. My main output consists of prints.
I only deal with tagged image files (files with an embedded color profile) and often recommend beating up with a baseball bat any moron that hands you an untagged file—figuratively of course, but I find the expression gets my point across unambiguously.
Following is a screen shot of some of my pertinent settings:
Note that I have never bought into the "suite" concept myself. I do have and routinely use Adobe Illustrator 10.x, InDesign 2.x and Acrobat Professional 8.x, but they are all older, independent versions of each point application, licensed at different times.
Be further advised, that the answer to many problems offered by Adobe engineers often is not to install VersionCue, or uninstall it, or at least disable it.
Also, as outlined at the beginning of this post, concentrate on Photoshop, not on synchronizing applications that can't really communicate with each other, despite the claims of Adobe marketing hacks to the contrary.
One big caveat, do not fall into this trap:

After an Itunes update Itunes now doesn't let me sync Iphone to computer because it says my computer is not authorized even though it is authorized.

After another lovely Itunes update my Itunes is now not letting me sync my Iphone to my computer. This is the error message I recieve "The Iphone 'Des's Iphone 5' could not be synced because this computer is not longer authorized for purchased items that are on this Iphone. It then tells me to authorize this computer even though it is already authorized. Also I can play all of my purchased itunes items on my computer even though it claims it's not authroized when I am trying to sync. After deauthorizing and reauthorizing numerous times and attempting many other things I have not been able to solve this issue. After looking through these disccussion forums I have not seen anyone with this same issue. I would appreciate any help anyone could provide.

IPhone 4S not seen by Win 7 PC

HI we have an iPhone 4s and we are trying to move the pictures to our PC running Win 7. All of our other iPod and IPod Touch devices come up fine and are seen by the PC as a portable device and also appear in iTunes. The iPhone 4S does not, it will charge but no USB storage connection and it does not appear in iTunes. I have looked in Device Manager and there are no references to any Apple Device under any item (USB controllers, Portable Devices etc). Apple Mobile Device Services are set to automatic, and are started. Everything looks like it should ecxept this iPhone is not seen as a USB device when connected. At a loss here and looking for suggestions. I have searched numerous forums but none work or even seem to go to the issue here which is that this iPhone does not connect via USB to a PC (I tried 2 different PCs with the same result) other than to charge. I have also changed the USB cables to no effect.

Solution ID 201056033 implemented but changes to signin.html still not seen

Customer have implemented solution id 201056033 in WebLogic 9.2 MP3 patch 2 with PT 8.49.12.
However, when they change signin.html for a web site the change is not seen. Browser cache has been purged.

Problem being:

though the Solution ID says that doing what is documented in the

It's not working because this change only causes the server side to reload the resource. The browser still has it cached, so it ignores it.
What you have to do is send HTTP headers along with the response that convinces the browser not to cache the resource. One way to do this is to implement a servlet filter that injects the appropriate HTTP headers to cause this.
The code for the class could look like this (I haven't declared it in a package, but you should):

I have traced the problem to a corrupted profile. When I captured the images in question, I also used Color Cherckr to create a profile for processing. When I apply that profile to the adjustments I make, I can no longer "Edit In". If I use another profile, even one that I created using Color Checkr at a different point in time, I don't have the issue. Something seems to have corrupted the new profile. I will re-create the profile and see if the issue is resolved.

For the first time, I was able to debug Fortran 90 applications in Linux, but debugging is still very limited. Furthermore, the Fortran error parser does not work, even when compiling using Sun's f95 compiler. This is a heavy disadvantage. I assume that Fortran error parsing is not supported on Linux, although the tutorials don't make this point clear: In the Options window, there are settings concerning C/C++ (and its parser), but there are no similar options for the Fortran parser, even in "Advanced Setings" (which are similar to the old Options window). My Linux system is Debian 3.1 (Sarge), with JDK 1.5.0.09.

Late 2010 MBA 13.3 WiFi issue I've not seen discussed

I am having a problem with my MBA which I have not seen discussed anywhere on here (or anywhere else, for that matter). I am currently working in Iraq where the internet service is EXPENSIVE and deplorable. I have an iPhone I have been using as a hotspot in order to share my connection. The odd thing is, I recently ceased being able to see my iPhone - as if it's not there. To make things worse, I am no longer able to see an available WAP (for which I have permissive use). I AM able to see OTHER available WiFi services from my MBA (they're too far and weak for connection) and am even able to see the aforementioned WAP from my iPhone and other devices, just not from my MBA. My other deivces ARE ABLE to see my iPhone's hotspot.
I am currently running IOS Lion 10.7.2 and have tried pretty well every "fix" I have read on this forum - be it resetting the PRAM, using the Kext tool, toggling BT, etc, etc.... Nothing is working. I still cannot see the WAP or my iPhone. Before you ask, there's nothing configured on my iPhone or any sort of mac-filtering on the WAP. There's absolutely no reason I can come up wth why my MBA is having this problem which is why I am now turning to this forum for assistance.
Nothing has changed on my MBA and I cannot just call Apple or take my MBA to an Apple store.
