Average Core Temp

I cleaned the heatsink and fan assembly on my T61 type 7663 with a T7500 C2D.  I'm just wondering what the core temps should be?  It's showing  43-44C right now at 10% and under.  Had it running a SETI program on BOINC for over 90 minutes and they were reading about 86C at 100%.  That still seems a little hot to me, but everything was working and better than it has for some time now.  That is the only time it ever gets worked that hard and I don't do it very often.  I'm not really in a big hurry to have to replace it.

Hi guys,
Sorry but does your machines crash or do you have BSOD? Is the performance not good or what?
I mean, I have a A100 with an T7600 and the machine is like yours but thats normal since such powerful CPU and GPU generates some h.e.a.t..
So, if your machine does not show such problems which I described then I really dont know where the problem is.

  • Core temp monitor program for hp touchsmart 610-1250

    Hi,
Re: HP TouchSmart 610-1250, 64 bit, Win 7.
This is a new computer, my first all-in-one, and I want to monitor core temp. My CPU gadget tells me this has no core temp monitor system. Is it possible to download a monitor?
As an all in one, I'm concerned about heat build up, since I'm using it all day.
    Any info is appreciated.

Have you tried SIW? (System Information for Windows by Gabriel Topala) I highly recommend it. Go to the sensors page after you open it, and then It should tell you.
Please give Kudos. What other kind of recognition could I get?

  • 100% cpu 104deg core temp?

Is it normal for the core temp of one of my two cores to stay at 104deg and the other around 100? Is that a safe temp to work at? I'm using macfanctld and it sounds like the fans are full throttle, but maybe I did something wrong. I checked the fan max rpm and the file said 5700. Shouldn't it be 6000? I tried changing it but I get access denied even as root. Any ideas?

    EDIT: it is Celcius
Already have frequency scaling using laptop-mode-toolls. Also went into applesmc.768 and found fan1_max or something of the sort which contained a single entry as a number. I did the following:
    sudo su
    vim fan1_max
    changed the value to 6000
    then :wq

  • Core temp

Hi I have following question for compaq presario cq56-202eq amd v 160 2.4 mhz processor core temp during normal operation only to keep the system running at 56 degrees when watching hd fim 4,5 gb works on 67.68 degrees or watching a clip in Internet is it normal that I am using ubuntu 11.10 laptop is still under warranty one year what to do?

    Hi Carla,
You'll probably get a different answer from everyone who responds, because temps vary with how you use the computer. The type of application and how you use it, plus the physical position of the computer affect heat production and dissipation.
Mine (15" 2.2G Late 2007 with 2G RAM; OS 10.5.5) runs consistently around 40C/105F to 43C/110F while doing routine browsing with Safari. If I run a game, temps can run from 65C/150F to as much as 77C/170F. Within seconds of quitting the game, the temps start to rapidly fall.
I understand the temp at which auto-shutdown occurs is 100C/212F.

  • Average idle temp of new Macbooks?

I just got my first Mac, a Macbook 2.16. I downloaded Fan Control to check my fan speed and processor temperature. Now I know that the MBs run hot, but I'm wondering what the average idle temp is? Mines currently sitting at about 110F/43.5C, and I'm thinking this is a little high. I don't have a great baseline to compare against. I have a Dell 1.8 CoreDuo and a Dell Centrino 1.6, and the MB is significantly hotter than the CD. Is this temp abnormally high?

    Hi,
Just looked at my Macbook 2.0GHz and at idle it is running 125F. Sounds like your unit is running a little cold!

  • Core Centre or Core Temp beta 0.94

    Hi,
been playing around with these two temp monitors, and there is an 8 degree difference in temperatures. MSI Core Centre being the lowest temp and core temp beta 0.94 showing both cores at roughly 8 degrees higher (both idle & under load).
the temps from core centre are not much to worry about, but the core temp temps do need attention.
Does anyone know which one is most acurate?
    Cheers very much

    Quote
For example, 60°C is quite normal for a core2 and nothing to worry about, while for an athlon that would be hot ...
I am not sure if this true.  Have a look at the Intel C2D datasheet.  Chapter 5.1 is about Thermal Specifications.  The maximum temperature mentioned in Table 28 on page 79 is 60.1°C.
    ftp://download.intel.com/design/processor/datashts/31327803.pdf
Considering that my temperatures @2,7 Ghz are far below 60°C, I dare to say, that 60°C is quite hot for C2D.
    My temps:
    IDLE: 30-33°C (20°C room temperature)
LOAD: 44-47°C (two instances of prime)

  • Safe Core Temps on an A135 S4427

Would anyone be able to tell me what a safe temperature range is for the core temp. on a Toshiba A135 S4427. I ran speedfan.exe on mine this morning and it looked like it might be running hot, so I stripped it down to to the mainboard and cleaned out the dust on the fan and also replaced the thermal paste on the CPU and the copper cooling tube. That didn't seem to help alot, but I did clean out about four years of dust.  Right now I'm running the core temp gadget and it's showing my cores running at around 136 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit with a 5 and 7 percent load on the cores. I know this unit can get hot since I run it with the lid closed and hooked up to a Toshiba Dynadock. I just want to make sure I'm not doing any damage to it.  Any help is appreciated.
    Jayme

I have the A135-S4527.  I ran the speedfan and my temps run between 164F and 212F.
I had added 1gb memory and a bigger HD thinking that was causing my heat problem.
I havent took it apart to clean fans.  I tried to use the Speedfan 4.4 to control fans,
but apparently, this model doesn't provide for fan speed control.
I do use an external USB powered fan sitting under the laptop and I try to center the fan under the laptop
vent hole.  I realize that using a USB fan also adds to load on power supply which in itself generates more heat.
Should I get a separately powered cooling fan for my laptop?
Should I be concerned with disassembling my laptop to clean it.
It is probably more than 5 years old.

  • Core temp reaching 80deg

    Help,
Yesterday my machine reached 80deg core temp and crashed twice. apple hardware test seemed fine. can anyone help. im in an air conditioned room. any suggestions please.

yeah i check it cleaned out the dust. temp is something i check allot, because of previous machine and the load that goes on it. i was told by apple second level the temp should run at 45 - 60 degree c. otherwise it can damage the machine.

  • Average GPU temp?

I just wanted to know some other peoples average GPU temp for just browsing the web or light use mines is 54 C or 120 F is that too hot?

That's perfectly normal. Temps can get into the upper 70s or low 80s (°C) during heavy use.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 core temp spike when synchronizing

I have a Dell Studio 1558 i7 laptop with Web Design suite CS5 installed. It normally sits happily at a core temp of around 60 degrees C. When I synchronize files in Dreamweaver the core temperature spikes to about 90 degrees C!! My laptop has now started hanging when synchronizing. It has got to the stage where I am finding if difficult to keep up to date with work for my clients.
When uploading and downloading files with FileZilla I don't get a spike at all. What is Dreamweaver doing to create this core temperature spike. Is there something (a setting) I can turn off that would prevent this from happening?
    Many Thanks.

    Hi ZeroGravityWeb,
Can you try this out and see if it helps? Just for your information, a lot of memory and CPU related issues were fixed in the DW 12.1 update for CS6.
In Dreamweaver, select Edit > Preferences
In the General section, deselect Enable Related Files.
    Click OK.
    Close Dreamweaver, and reopen it.
    Thanks,

  • CPU Core Temps Gone With Genie - AMD 1090T + MSI 990XA-GD55

When I turn on Genie the core temperatures of the CPU only shows 0 degrees. Is this normal?

Thanks Hu. Please excuse me if I seem to be a noob. The fact is: I am!
Anyway I disabled Genie and manually set the CPU multiplier to x18. This is what I got.
The core temps are back. Don't know what to make of this.
Is Antec a bad PSU? I might have to consider ugrading that then.

  • Sufficient Cooling? Average AMD temp?

My Athlon proccessor runs average at 56 - 58.C it ran cooler on my previous mainboard, I have stability issues above 60 .C I run CpuIdle extreme and this works very well avg. 42 - 45.C but it interferes with my PCTV card by adding "engine noise" so to speak that becomes part of the captured audio,  I understand why cpuidle does this, I dont know if 55.C is high im quessing it is beins my system temp is only 38.C , I have AMD 1.6GHz rated heatsink but do I need more air movement in the case? or a better insulating grease between cpu and heatsink,,  im willing to buy a bigger dual fan heatsink, l but was just curious if I could get away without having to,,  your time in reading this is greatly appreciated

  • Core Temps

I have a couple of questions concerning my MBP.
    1) Does the processing of programs such as SETI have any negative effects on my MBP?
    2) If YES/NO are the following core temperatures normal:
While processing SETI info *Core 1= 85.0 C* and *Core 2= 81.0 C* with both fan speeds ranging from 4800-5900.
    3) Is a Core temperature of ~ 50.0 C normal while normal MBP usage(internet,skype,pages)?
I have heard mixed opinions on the subject of computing large amounts of data and its affect on processors and computers in general, but primarily concerned Window based PC's. Does anyone have any information regarding the effect such computing has on MBP's? Would really appreciate any feedback.

Those temps and fan speeds are normal for heavy processor usage (with SETI 'borrowing' your CPU cycles); max fan speed is 6000 rpm. The 50 °C is normal for a light load.
You'll probably hear mixed opinions on this issue for Macs as well. Although within spec for the machine, and while I'm in favor of supporting some distributed computing efforts, I would not recommend doing that on your MBP. Desktop machines have much better cooling capabilities than portable computers.

  • Core temp of 183F

    Dear Sir/Madam,
Is it normal that the core temperature of my 2011 macbook pro is 183F (85Celsius) when I'm doing nothing else but typing in Word and surfing on the internet (not watching any youtube clips or anything)? It is too hot to put on my lap and I have a feeling that my battery-life is not what it should be..
    Thank you,
    Steven

If there is no Flash content running in your browser, then no, that isn't normal. If it happens again, first close every non-essential browser tab you have open and see whether that allows the temperature to drop. If not, quit the browser and see whether that cools things down. If that doesn't do it either, open Activity Monitor and follow the suggestions in this article:
