Average GPU usage for MPE?

Hey fellas - I just wanted to ask an informal survey for those that have CUDA enabled. What's your average GPU usage during rendering? I just ran the GPU Meter gadget and noticed that the GPU doesn't go high at all (<10%). Is that normal?

Depends on the footage, the rendering required (effects used) and most importantly on the system confuration.
If you have the engine of a Lamborghini Aventador (fast CPU/GPU) but coupled with the gearbox of a 30 year old VW Beetle (memory) or a set of wheels from a Fiat 500 (disk) it will not run at full power and speed.

CS6 and GPU fix for MPE hardware acceleration

The problem of this hack not working has been covered in a number of discussions so why raise it again. The solutions that resolved others problems are not working for my card! Tough luck I guess.
My card is the ASUS Radeon HD 7950 CU2 3GD5 V2 and everything I have read says by doing the hack (card name in the opencl txt file) CS6 should offer hardware acceleration for the MPE.
I have the latest drivers from AMD and am using windows 8.1 but GPUsniffer still does not recognise my card. I have tried various forms of the cards name in the txt file, still no luck.
I've posted this because I have run out of ideas to try - any suggstions would be welcome. I have even reinstalled CS6 but no luck. Photoshop sees my card ok!!!!! I feel sure it is something simple that is not set correctly or perhaps the order in which things should be updated/installed. Any suggestions short of signing up for CC rental would be welcome!

Formally I believe these two responses to be correct - Adobe do not officially support my card in Premiere pro CS6. My understanding from many web discussions is that the "not so secret hack" (phrase used by an Adobe employee) can be used but they do not provide official support.
Assuming I am correct I am still left wondering what else to try.

What is average cpu usage for itunes? when idle?

I've noticed lately that itunes is using 6% cpu when I'm doing absolutely nothing, even with the window x'ed out. It seems to stay at 6% pretty steadily too doesn't fluctuate when idle; but when I open up the window and attempt to play music, the cpu goes crazy. The 6% when idle isn't a terrible issue, I would just like to know if this is normal... I don't have any plug-ins either and I'm running osx 10.4.11.

That can't be normal because I have a G4 1.5Ghz and, when idle, it runs .3% and at full steam it runs at max 10%. As far as a solution I think someone can give you more insight.

Average GPU temp?

I just wanted to know some other peoples average GPU temp for just browsing the web or light use mines is 54 C or 120 F is that too hot?

That's perfectly normal. Temps can get into the upper 70s or low 80s (°C) during heavy use.

Gpu usage.

Unsure if i can or not. But i am looking to lower the gpu usage ingame on my 670 PE. As i can't even play WoW (other games too) without the gpu running at 99% usage and sounding like a jet engine. been trying to put up with it but alas. I'm almost at my limit. Only good thing coming out of this is that i never need my heating on when this baby is running at a constant 83c

I can proove my statement. In many games whenever I turn on V-sync and the game is higher than 60 FPS (for example - World of Tanks, average 75-80 FPS = 80% GPU usage - after turning VsyncOn: 50-60% GPU usage) it works.
So isn't it actually limiting GPU usage? Or what am I limiting? The readings are wrong? It's obvious that if You get higher FPS and u cap them Your card doesn't have to perform as hard as without the limit - it's a matter of frames it has to render. At least to me it is
Offcourse - if Your card can't perform >60FPS it won't work as intended.

MSI R9 270X HAWK low GPU usage and screen flickering problem

I bought an MSI R9 270X HAWK vga and I have this screen flickering issue.

I also had another problem: the GPU usage averages at 50-55% on every game (DX9,10,11 games like TESV Skyrim, League of Legends, Crysis 2-3, Battlefield 2-3, Far Cry 3) and never reaches more than 80%(well, once I made it run at 99%, I used ultra settings on Battlefield 4 with Sync on, Ultra preset settings with 200% res. scale so pretty much the maxed out Settings). I'm using this card with 8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance RAM with a stock clocked 1090T and AMD's reply for this problem was, that this problem can be driver problem as well as VBIOS.

I created a bootable usb, placed the files in it (formated, and only these files were at the usb, dos startup directed to win98boot's folder (C:\win98boot) renamed the tv303ms.134 to tv303ms.rom,l after i placed it on the usb and in the boot menu there are four additional options related to the USB (there's no USB only option): FDD, HDD, CDROM, zip. Selecting the FDD and CDROM starts the windows normally, The HDD option ended on the white-black screen, and there's where I can write: C:\>
after this i tried to type in: atiflash.exe TV303MS.rom [enter] nothing happened, then atiflash.exe [enter] and popped up some help instructions for the use of atiflash, I pressed enter over and over and then requested another command, I tiped in the tv303ms.rom [enter] and again nothing happened (invalid command I think). What should I do now ? I did some research but still can't figure out what the problem is. :/ (If I done everything correct, maybe the problem related to my motherboard or USB stick?)

How can I find out my data usage for the past 3 months?

Greetings all, I have been a long time Verizon customer, and as such I, along with my husband, was grandfathered into the unlimited data plan. When I last spoke to a representative, they informed me that the only way we were going to be able to keep our unlimited data was by paying the full retail price ($600+) to get a new phone. So we were considering upgrading and changing to one of the newer data plans so we could still get the discounted price on the new phone, but I would like to make sure I choose one with enough data, without paying for a bunch of data that I don't use, however MyVerizon only shows me the amount I have used since the start of the billing cycle. Is there a way to find out the data usage for both my husband and myself for the last 3 months so I can choose the right option?

No GPU Acceleration or MPE benefit (FX3800)

Installed CS5 (Full Paid Version) yesterday. Shaking it down today.
Everything is working at light speed except.....
I do not get any GPU Acceleration or MPE benefit from the QUADRO FX3800 (or PPRO).
As soon as I apply any GPU accelerated effect (eg Ultra, Levels etc...) .
or Scale down a P in P - I get a RED RENDER BAR
This is a minimal sequence with Vid 1 :color bars, Vid 2: mxf 720p green screen scene, Vid 3: 720p mxf for PNP
Thought it was the Driver - updated to latest (NVIDIA 8.17.11.9759 - 16/4/2010)
Did not resolve it!
Flicked between Hardware and Software acceleration - no difference.

I was the one who posted it because that is what our Nvidia rep said. He said the Quadro 3800 would have the same
3 layer limit as the 285GTX due to the 1GB ram on both cards. If that is incorrect then the information they gave me was incorrect.
BTW I will forward them this thread and ask them why they informed me otherwise. Thank you for the heads up.
Oh one last thing. Nvidia and Adobe stated the limiter was put in place because of the 1GB Frame buffer size limited performance in CS5 and they could only ensure performance with effect for 3 layers. If the Quadro FX 3800 is unlimited then that is completely false. Since the Quadro FX 3800 has a 260GPU in it and has 1/3 the ram bandwidth of a 285GTX then how does 1GB on the 285GTX require the limiter but the 1 GB Quadro card does not. This means Adobe is completely working with Nvidia to sell more Quadro FX cards and the limiter is a completely dishonest way to do it.
Note - After checking my email and speaking with my Adobe rep I changed the post. It was only our Nvidia rep that reported the limiter on both.

Does Keynote support CUDA or GPU usage?

Thinking about buying a Nvidia K5000 video card.
Does anybody know if Keynote supports CUDA and GPU usage?

Keynote uses OpenGL hardware acceleration for animation. So yes, if you have a decent GPU then animation may run smoother. That being said, a K5000 is complete overkill for something like Keynote. Even the Intel HD4000 graphics on my Macbook Air runs Keynote animations very smoothly.

MSI 770 TF 2GD5/OC cant display GPU usage

Hi everyone,
Programs like Afterburner and GPU-Z dont show the GPU usage from my 770,
it always stays at 0% wich obviously isnt right when im in-game etc..
Tried it with NVIDIA driver versions 320.49 and the new 326.19 beta,
and MSI Gaming App 1.0.0.2 and 1.0.0.3 installed, if that matters..
Could the card itself be faulty or something ?
I also have another problem, so i might aswell thow it in here if thats ok !?.. When my frames in BF3 drop just a littlebit fom 121(locked) to for example 108, it lags for a moment.
Does anybody have an idea what could cause that ? got an i5-3570K @ 4,3GHz

Aha, ok haven't seen that so far. I'm also hoping for continued Afterburner support as the App is far from being great and can crash the system or the driver when switching between the modes. As Afterbunrner is still quite popular and attracting a lot of people to decide for MSI vgas I also guess the app will just be added. For overclocking boost 2.0 cards it is at least quite useful as it limits the gpu's freedom to jump between boost clockrates a bit.

Average battery time for ipod touch 4th generation

I recently bought an iPod Touch 4th Gen, and I'm surprised at how little use I get out of it between charges. I'm hoping someone with more experience can give me some feedback that might help me determine if what I'm seeing is normal.
I'm getting a maximum of 2 days use out of the iPod. I am currently using it a lot, as I'm still choosing apps and transferring data (sometimes by hand) from my old Palm. What I'm not doing is much in the way of power-hungry activities like video or games. I would say my average daily usage is...
- Downloading 3-4 apps (I'm trying different apps for budgeting, gas mileage tracking, etc.)
- Sufring the web (maybe 5-10 minutes a day, usually reading up on those apps or using the IMDb app
- Checking the weather once or twice on a few different apps (trying to find a good one)
- Adding things to a shopping-list app, or using it for shopping
- Using the calendar a few times a day
- Checking email maybe once a day (only if I'm tracking an issue at work and I'm not at my desk)
- Maybe playing one or two game of PoolBreak (every other day on average)
I have only once watched video, and I did it specifically to test the battery. I have a couple battery-monitoring apps, both of which tell me, after I get my first 20% warning, I should still get over an hour of video. So I tried playing a video, and got only 20m in before the iPod shut down.
Also, when I plug it in to charge, it shows the battery at 45% full within 5-10 minutes. I know there's a rapid-charge for the first 80% or so, but that seems rapid enough that I wonder about the capacity.
So...that's it. Any insights from iTouch owners would be appreciated.

Sar CPU usage for each processor

In Linux, mpstat allows you to specify a specific processor or all processors when getting CPU % usage. In OS X, sar looks pretty limited as I can only get CPU usage for all processors. I'm trying determine how many cores are in use (basically for figuring out how many single cores are available for jobs if im submitting 1 handbrake job per core)

You have to select the host target in the report and period is customizable.

MSI GT70 GPU usage drops

I would help from you guys.I bought new MSI GT70 laptop and i am noticed problems with games.Every game i play i have random 1-2 sec freezes which happening every 10-20min.So i installed afterburner and i saw my gpu usage drops to 0 when i have that freeze.Could somebody gives me information how to fix it?i have drivers updated and i dont know what next.

Hey i installed 327.xx nvidia driver and i still have gpu usage sometimes 0 but i dont have screen freezes at all so its fine.Thanks for advice with driver.

6950 Twin Frozr III/PE, Low FPS, Low GPU usage

I could use some help, I've tried everything I can think of and no luck so far so maybe someone here can help. I spent all weekend trying to fix it with no luck.
I am having issues with my MSI 6950 Twin Frozr III/Power Edition cards. When playing a games my GPU usage never seems to get above 50%. I've tried each card individually and in crossfire but it never seems to make a difference. My frame rates fluctuate between 70 and 20 FPS while the GPU load fluctuates between 30-50%. Crossfire or not the frame rates and GPU usage stays about the same, never using more than 60% of the GPU. I only recently began seeing issues but I don't remember exactly when it started.

-Set constant voltage in Afterburner (heard that was causing conflict problems between Afterburner and CCC)
-Tried switching the cards between my 1090T @4.0GHz and my i7-2600K @4.6GHz and no change (both CPUs stay at around 60-70% so I dont think thats the bottleneck)
-Set power tune to +20%
-Tried clean install of windows 7 and no change
-Checked both PSUs with tester and both check out fine (not sure if the load is too much for them though)
Games that I've tried (with issues):
-Borderlands 2
-Hawken
-Dishonord
-Skyrim
-Dirt 3
-Saints Row 3
-Need for Speed: Most Wanted (always been bad but doesn't seem to be made any worse like the others)
I'm getting very discouraged and really hoping my graphics cards aren't going bad (they are only a year old). Any help is greatly appreciated.

can you test either of the card in another PC?

New MSI 670 PE GTX low GPU usage

Just got my MSI 670 PE from newegg yesterday. Doing some tests on 3dmark vantage in performance preset ( default that every bench uses) and my GPU usage drops to 40%, quite often, especially during intense graphic areas. It also does this in other games as well -- Crysis 2, Bf3.
I watched some youtube videos of others with this card and they did not have these issues.
Using MSI afterburner for OSD. 310.90 Drivers (tried 310.70 as well).
Could i have received a faulty card? Might I be having a CPU bottleneck? My CPU is a Athlon 2 x4 640 @ 3ghz. MSI 870-g45 motherboard, 4gb 1600 ram.
