AVI File from ORDRO HDV Z35 not accepted

Hello, I have the digital film camera ORDRO HDV Z35
CODEC: H264 - MPEg 4 HVC (Part10) (H264) Decodiertes Format Planar 4:2:0 YUV
Audio: IMA WAV ADPCM Audio (ms)
I am using Windows 8.1
The VLC Player and the Windows Media Player can play the AVI Files without Problems.
But Premiere Pro does not read it, it says unknown or damaged file.
Think it is a Codec Problem.
Any solutions to it?

H.264 will not work inside an AVI wrapper http://forums.adobe.com/thread/854115
-so use the MOV wrapper if YOUR camera offers that option
-Says VLC will convert in reply #6 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1172956

You can't. You'll have to connect to your PC.

  • Avi file from PC user has audio but not video

When I play a .AVI file from a PC user through Quicktime pro, I am getting no video, but can hear the file fine.
Any ideas what may be wrong?
Playing it on a PC gives full video & audio
    Cheers

Using VLC is about as simple as it gets and if that will not play the avi they are encoded in a very rare codec. One last thing you can do is open the avi in QT Player and open MovieInfo in the Window menu. If it says they are encoded with an Indeo codec then there is no way to play them in OS X. There are Indeo codecs for the Classic environment but none for OS X. Indeo codecs for Classic

  • How to deal with scratchy sound in AVI file from BetaCam masters

Recently, I got out some BetaCam edit masters of videos I produced in the 1990s. The university instructional technology center transfered the masters to Mini-DV tape, then made AVI files from the Mini-DV tapes. The AVI files sound fine when I play them from my hard drive, but when I use the AVI files in Premiere Pro CS4 and 1.5, the sound is scratchy--sort of like a scratchy record. So then I got the Mini-DV tape and decided to import the program, playing it on my Canon GL1 camcorder and capturing it in PP CS4. But the sound is even worse. Please advise. These programs are too important to not be able to convert them to YouTube and DVD formats.

If things work OK in "programA" but not in "programB" (B being Premiere) that is usually a codec issue
AVI is simply a wrapper... what is the codec?
The first question at the end of this link has a link to the free GSPOT to find the codec
First, work through all of the steps here http://ppro.wikia.com/wiki/Troubleshooting
If your problem isn't fixed after you follow all of the steps, report back with the DETAILS asked for in the questions at the end of that link

  • How can I change the default video conversion applied when I copy an AVI file from my PC to my Android HTC One M8 phone?

    Here's the situation...
I have an Android HTC One M8 phone which I connect via USB cable to my PC, then I use Windows Explorer to drag and drop an AVI file from my PC onto a target folder on the phone. When I would do this after I had first purchased my phone a message box
would come up with the heading "Convert and Copy" and ask me  "Do you want to convert <filename> before it's copied to your device?" and give me the options "Yes, convert and copy (recommended)" or "No, just
copy Your file will be copied, but might not play on your device."
If I chose to convert it converted the file to MP4. No problem, that's what I wanted.
The problem I now have is that after doing some work with other video applications a while ago where I was outputting WMV files I now find that the default conversion for the above described copy from PC to Android phone now converts files to WMV.
I simply want it to go back to converting video files copied to my phone as MP4, but I can't seem to find where I can set this!
It appears that the copy/conversion process in Explorer is being handled in the "Portable Devices Shell Extension" dll - WPDSHEXT.DLL
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to set the default video conversion back to MP4 ???
    Thanks

    Thanks Rob.
I actually had no clue what the core problem was caused by. So it's Windows itself...that helps some.
I'll resubmit there. It might actually have saved time for it to simply have been moved to there instead of off-topic, though I suppose you have to follow protocol.

  • I have a seagate 1tb hard drive and a 16gb memory stick, how do i transfer avi files from one to another as the click drag and drop wont work, please help?

i have a seagate 1tb hard drive and a 16gb memory stick, how do i transfer avi files from one to another as the click drag and drop wont work, please help?

    Greetings,
What happens when you drag it?
Make sure the drive you are moving the files to has enough available space to receive the file:
Click on the movie file and go to File >  Get Info and note the "size"
Check the drive to which you are moving the file to make sure it has enough available space: https://idisk.me.com/madisonfile-Public/web/finder-drive-available-space-and-for mat.html
Also note the format of the drive you are copying too.  If it is not Mac OS Extended or FAT (not recommended unless you are taking it to a windows computer) then that may be the issue.
    Hope that helps.

  • Error -36 when trying to copy AVI files from External Drive to Mac

    Hi
Hoping for some help with a problem I appreciate others have faced.
I bought a new video camera recently and have just tried to copy the AVI files from the first few videos to my mac but am getting the error code 36 that states the files cannot be read or written.
The format of the camera is MS-DOS (FAT 32) but when I tried changing it to MAC OS Extended it did something to the camera so the mac could then not recognise it when I tried to re-connect it via the USB port.
I've been able to copy the files onto my friends Windows laptop no problem so don't believe them to be corrupt.
Have also tried the dot_clean fix but this didn't work.
Could there be another reason for the error? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

I hear 3rd Party, or HW Raid 0/1/5/10 are OK, but 6 months is the absolute most I got out of my many screaming RAID setups before they completely lost it!
Bummer. I'm not really doing this for speed though, just for total storage volume and constant, worry-free, no-brainer back-up. I guess RIAD in general is something I need to study up on. Would a simple mirror of one 500GB drive to another (back-up) - and do that twice - be a better, more reliable way to go?
I've used Tri-Backup3/4 for years for Backups, it's fast, automatic, reliable, works in the background if you wish...
Back-up software always seemed to have some kind of a hiccup to it, but I'll certainly look into Tri-Backup3/4. I used to Retrospect years ago, a rather fussy thing if I recall.
Now, on the Safe Mode boot - not a success BUT a different result!
I got the -36 again, but this time it was the external drive FILE that errored, not the OS-resident drive.
In other words, pre-Safe Mode the error said "...because some data in "ZillaHAL" could not be read or written." (ZillaHAL is my OS-X drive).
In Safe, it read, "...because some data in "WinXP Pro.vmem" could not be read or written."
"WinXP Pro.vmem" is the virtual machine file - which basically is a simple Mac volume (folder) containing all of the files to run my XP virtual machine.
Also, this time, a file* did manage to remain on the external drive whereas before, after the error, no file at all remained.
    * a generic icon appears, but it shows a size of 16+GBs. The actual file is 18.13GB - I did manage to shrink it down the other day (from it's previous 25GB).
Well, that's it for now. I'll be away for three days, so don't mind me if I cannot reply back for a spell.
    Thanks BD,

  • How do I export wmv and avi files from media encoder on a mac in CC2014

How do I export wmv and avi files from media encoder on a mac in CC2014?

    John T Smith wrote:
As far as I know, you don't... those are Windows formats that are not available on a Mac
    Nonsense.
Apple Compressor has been doing wmf exports for a decade. I have the Quicktime export components from Telestream and they appear as presets in Compressor. They should be available in Media Encoder or they should be importable. Adove apparently refuses to see them. Still trying to figure that out.

  • How do I back up AVI files from my iPhoto library to a CD or DVD?  I

I am using iPhoto 8 , exporting album, save as jpegs named sequentially. I did not think about the avi files from my camera, that are now on the cd or dvd as jpegs.  I'm doing this as I want the original files, not just the iPhoto library and plan to reinstall on a new Mac.

Create a smart album with either of one of these criteria:  Kind is Movie or File Name conatins .avi.  Then select all of the movies and export them to a folder(s) on the desktop via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export with Formate = Original.  This will get the movie files into folders ready to be burned to disk.

  • I can't get Premier Elements 10 to import an AVI file from my computer.

I just bought Adobe Premier 10 two days ago, and I'm trying to import an AVI file from my computer.  It says Add Media Failure.  This type of file is not supported or the required codec is not installed.  The program installed all right, so I don't know what to do since I bought this software to create movies with the video from my camera, which is in AVI format.

Hi Bill, thanks for replying so quickly.
In review of your suggestions, I cannot see where these would be the answer. While I do use 2 computers, both have identical OS, APE-10, and Quicktime versions as well as camera software/drivers. I have not updated the camera firmware in some time, so I do not think this can be the issue, besides I have used both computers in the past few weeks, with no issues, until just recently. Perhaps it was a Win7 update that messed it up?
However, while waiting for a forum response, I did some further research and found a codec pack (windows.7.codec.pack v.4.03) on CNET. The description sounded exactly like the issues I am having so I downloaded and installed it. (I also converted the original AVI files to MPEG-2, just in case).
After the codec pack install, the AVI files loaded into APE and showed with no issues.
I have not yet tried the MOV files as they were not mentioned in the codec pack info, other than; 'and many more'. (one issue at a time!) I did download and installed the latest QT app (but it was the same version I had) so maybe there was something corrupt in the original. We shall see!
I cannot try it now as I am presently rendering the video, but if I still cannot load the full video MOV files, other than audio only, as old Arnie would say, "I'll be back!" (according to the APE estimate, about 1:12.
Thanks again for the assist. If it helps you in any way, I will check the box that says the reply fixed the problem! ('Was this Helpful?')

  • How can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac?

how can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac? i have a client that specificly needs the files to be avi and in 24bit what are the settings that i need to use to export the video using photoshop on a mac?

    Hello,
To make a 24-bit AVI file in Photoshop, go to File>Export>Render Video. Then, under File Options, choose AVI from the Quicktime Export drop-down menu. Click the Settings button. Click the Settings button in the AVI Settings window. Change Compression to None, and then choose "Millions of Colors" from the Depth drop-down under Compression.
The Millions of Colors option is for 24-bit video (8-bit R+G+B channels, 8x3=24). Millions of Colors+ is for 32-bit video (24-bit video plus an 8-bit alpha channel).

  • I want my AVI files from Hard disk for FMLE

Is it possible to get AVI files from my Hard disk for FMLE if yes How..?
    Thanks in advance

Not sure what you mean but if you want to use FMLE to stream video from your harddrive I think you also need Camtwist or Wirecast for that. I use Camtwist and FMLE for that. If you for example stream to Justin.tv remember to mute the sound on your channel there or you get a strange loop. It´s kind of tricky to set up a good stereosound for broadcasting and I use two soundcards and a small cheap Behringer mixer for that.
I think it´s possible to play them back from another computer too if the videocard on that computer have some sort of video out port you can hook up to your capture card on your broadcasting computer. You ´d need a capturecard that FMLE recognizes.
You can also just burn a DVD and play it back from an ordinary external DVD player that you hook up to your capturecard. Even works with a VCR if you have one and can get the files over to tape. But as I said you need a good capturecard that FMLE recognizes.
