Avi video converted to mp4 only shows in music...

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. I recently bought the fifth generation 30gb video IPod for my girlfriend and have figured out how to do most things, via this forum actually....but am quite stumped on this problem. I have an AVI video that I would really like to be able to play on her IPod. I have converted the avi file, via Videora and it now is an mp4 but everytime I try to add the file to my library, it only shows up in my music, playing only the sound. Any ideas as to how I can get the video to show up as well as the sound? Thanks!!

ok, I did that, but still no luck. also tried on my girlfriends laptop using videora and still, the same results. i really want to figure this out so any help or suggestions are appreciated. would also be willing to send the file for some hands on work too anyway, thanks thus far!

Then it is working! This is how it works:
Your built-in screen and you external screen are each show at sizes proportional to their pixel count. If this is not the correct arrangement, then drag the screens so that they correspond with their placement on your bench.
Then move the mouse off the edge of one screen, and it appears on the other. Next drag a window across to the other screen.

My music menu only shows my music nothing else?

IMovie only show background music after connecting to my external iMovie Mediathek, no video!!! desperat, i potentially lost a big project...

I work with an external iMovie-Mediathek so my big project don't mess up my macbook. I was working on a big project (45 min.) after the program crashed. Now, when I try to connect again to the external Mediathek, it will only show the background music I used, no video material at all... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But in the "events"-section, it looks normal with the preview just like always during the last couple of days... It even shows the size of the file with 146GB (which is correct), but still only the music is displayed (about 7 tracks).
I need urgent help. Same thing happened to the security-backup I make regularly...

Appletv only showing pink music icon

I'm new to Appletv (today) and my tv screen will only show an image of the unit plus a cable and the pink music icon. I can't get back to the menu so can't do anything. Am i stuck until i buy a micro usb cable? If so I'm not happy.
Can anyone help with this?

New iTunes only shows Purchased Music. Help!

Wow, I cannot believe how inconvenient the new iTunes has been. Hoping someone can help.
This is what I was used to and loved on my iMac:
1. List view: All Playlists on left column, with "Library" on top, then "Purchased", Genius, TV, and so on; and ALL my music (songs) in the right side of main window.
2. I just click or choose "New Playlist" and a new one would show up in the left column with the rest of my playlists so I could see them all at the same time.
3. I just click and drag any song I want from the right side to whatever playlist (old or new) and the song would be added.
Simple, easy and quick.
NOW with the new, "improved" version:
1. List view is fine (playlists on left, songs on right) but it takes a couple clicks to get to it--not my default view (default is annoying and illogical album cover view).
2. On the list on the left side (under "Playlists"), "Purchased" is at top--NO choice for my entire music library! So if I click on "Purchased", it only shows me purchased music, which is only a third of my library.
3. In order to add a playlist, there is no choice on the pulldown menu from the top. I have to click the icon at the bottom left of the window for a pull down and select "New Playlist"--HOWEVER, the entire window suddenly shifts!! The new Playlist is now for some reason on the RIGHT side, and only *then* is my music library listed in the main window, which has shifted to the left. But in this view I can no longer see all my other playlists! Extremely confusing, illogical, unintuitive and completely unnecessary.
4. Strangely, when in "regular" Playlist mode (where all my Playlists are listed in the narrow left window and my Purchased music is on the right main one), I can still click and drag songs, but only to add to my OLD playlists.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get back to the easy way? Where my "Library" is listed in the left "Playlists" window and ALL my songs are listed on the right?
And is there ANY way to to add a new playlist to the main Playlist list on the left column without having to switch to the next window?
Any help is most appreciated. Thanks much!

I think I just solved this! I, too, was having the same issue.
Try this:
In itunes V11.1.5, there is a small line of choices across the top of the interface window that begins with, "Radio • Songs • Albums, etc.
Click on "songs."
Now, go to the iTunes menu > View, and select "Show sidebar."
Bingo! There is your Library; the list we've all grown so accustomed to, including ALL of our songs (not just purchased) and playlists.
I hope this is what you were asking, and that I have explained it well, becasue I'm very excited to have just found this solution. Best of luck.

Preventing videos from playing while only listening to music

I'm using iTunes Match to stream my media to the iPhone but when shuffling all of the music it will play the videos as well and I would like to only shuffle the music as the videos consume much more bandwidth and my data plan isn't unlimited.
So far the only workaround is to create a playlist but is there a better solution?

Oh, you do one thing, back up your iPod to iTunes. Plug your iPod to the iTunes and when it appears under devices tree on the sidebar, right click on it, and back it up.
After the backup completes, jus click on restore button. If required it will download the latest iOS from the servers (Might take sometime) and after it's downloaded, it will erase all your data and settings, restoring to factory settings.
After you have completed restoring the iPod, jus set it up as new iPod.
Sync back all the apps, music, movies.
And make sure you quit the apps, by double clicking the home button and pressing and holding the app icons and clicking on
This should help your problem anyhow!
It might be a case that the files in the apps, or the preferences might be corrupted, jus to be safe, we have a backup.

Videos converted to MP4: can't get them onto iPod

I have converted videos from YouTube via tubeget.com to a mp4 format using my PC. They appear in the Documents --> Videos folder on the PC, a Windows Media program.
I can see the files in iTunes when I try to add them to iTunes using the “Add file to Library” option under the File menu in iTunes. But when I click on the mp4 file I can’t get it to transfer over to iTunes. That is, when I click on the file via “add to Library”, the file doesn’t appear under Videos in iTunes. And thus, of course, I can’t get the videos into my Videos folder on my iPod Classic.
The iPod is supposed to be a 5th generation. I bought it used from a reputable seller. It readily accepts music videos downloaded from the iTunes store, and it readily accepted a transfer of music files from iTunes to the device.
Any suggestion?

If you don't see the videos in iTunes, that would be the initial problem, and that part is not related to the iPod.
You can use that Add to Library command from the menu bar, but it's sometimes more "informative" if you do it this way...
First, create a new playlist, so that it appears in the iTunes sidebar. If the iTunes sidebar is not visible along left side of window, from the menu bar under View, select Show Sidebar. If you have a lot of playlists already, you can start its name with an underscore (_) symbol, and it will appear at or near the top. Select that playlist in the sidebar, so that its content list is shown to me right (currently empty).
Then, open a Windows Explorer window that shows the video files. Drag one of the video files from that window, and drop it on the playlist (on the currently empty list). If that video file is compatible with iTunes (iTunes can play it), it gets imported, and it appears on the playlist. It also appears in the iTunes library, under Movies. Using a playlist as the place to "drag it to" just makes it easier to spot. If it works for one, drag the other videos you want to add, to the same playlist. On the playlist, you can edit the names as needed, and add other info such as Artist. Then try adding them to the iPod.
NOTE: You can select multiple files to add at the same time and drag them all at once. You can also select the folder that contains the files to add, and drag that folder to the iTunes window.
If the video file format is somehow not compatible with iTunes, you will not able to drag them to the iTunes window. Well, you can drag them there, but they will not get imported nor appear on the playlist. And that would be the problem to solve first.
Either way, you'll be a step closer to figuring out the cause of this problem.

If you go into iTunes > Preferences (command-comma) and select the Store tab on the popup, is the 'show iTunes in the cloud Purchases' tickbox ticked ? If not then tick it, if it is then try unticking it, exiting the popup, and then going back in and re-ticking it

You can only use one Apple id for your iTunes match.
At present there is no way to hide selected songs.
Whilst all the music will show on you wife's iphone, she could create playlist(s) on your computer to include only her songs.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    4.    Open iTunes.
    5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

I recently got a new laptop and i havent downloaded new music for many months off iTunes and i have always used my aunts laptop. I setup up an my itunes sccount but it only showed downloaded music from over two years ago. How to fix it?

MP4's tagged as music video only play audio + static picture?

Hi everyone,
Is it normal that MP4 files, that have been tagged as Music Video (Itunes Media Type), only show a static image on playback instead of a moving image.
I assumed that a music video would show the video too. Hence the tag name "Music VIDEO"
So at this point, I'm looking at a still image. Audio plays fine though.

This same exact thing happened to me just recently. My videos played fine since I got my iPod in December and now they just play audio and are organized in with my "music" menu. I've looked around and a lot of people seem to have this happening to them also, but no one has had a real solution that I've found. I think it may have something to do with an iTunes update since the problem happened after I updated.
