Avid Codecs Not working

For some reason I can't get the avid codecs to work in my quicktime. I've done everything I can think of - updated quicktime and my operating system to most recent versions, and I've downloaded every codec available on the avid website:

But a set of videos I'm working with won't work - the sound is fine but the screen is white.
The properties on these videos are usually:
Dimensions: 720 x 480
Codecs: Integer (Little Endian), Avid Meridien 2:1 NTSC 601
but sometimes are 720 x 486, Avid Meridien compressed
Technically, with the avid codecs in the folder Library/Quicktime, it should work (a coworker has the same exact files on his computer, and they work on his) - so I don't understand why this is happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Those links, and any other ones I can find, all point to PowerPC versions. I saw posts in the Avid forums begging for Mac Intel support, but no sign of an answer to that.
Meanwhile, try setting QuickTime Player to open using Rosetta. Then the PowerPC components may work ok.

I will not contest the workability of AVID. I will express skepticism about the welcome an AVID codec might receive on a Mac platform, and less so on a platform/codec-specific app like COLOR.
I understand that Automatic Duck's "Use existing media" now works better with at least DV material for importing OMF into FCP. That's probably a big thing considering all the various quirks that have to be bridged. We know for sure that only a select few formats are welcome for import to COLOR, and even fewer for export. Heck, it goes berserk if you let a tif or jpg slip by. It doesn't even like the LiveType and Motion decompressor exports so much, so although it might work in FCP is NO guarantee at all that the media will be greeted warmly elsewhere.

MPEG2 codec not working in Final Cut Pro on Mac OSX Tiger

We have been using the File-export-Quicktime Conversion-MPEG2 codec for exporting of files from Final Cut Pro to DVD Studio Pro. On the new mac system that was just bought, the option does not show up.
Currently the system is running Quicktime Pro 7.1.2/ FCP 5 and DVD Studio Pro 4 and it is a new mac system running Mac OSX Tiger.
This problem has happened before on a mac running on an older system, but that was solved by reinstalling FCP and then DVD Studio pro and making sure that the QT Pro was of the latest version.
Right now, we have reinstalled everything the same way, tried installing DVD Studio Pro after, we have also done a full software update of the software over the net.
The codec is still not working, all the macs in the office are supposed to be upgraded to Mac osx tiger, but right now we can't do so, cos then we wouldn't be able to burn any DVDs.

The installation of QT 7 is the culprit behind the missing MPEG-2 Export Component. But during upgrades, it doesn't always get rid of the file ... probably what happened on your older system when you upgraded to QT 7 or Tiger. Either the new system came with QT 7 preinstalled, therefore not including the Export Component, or if it was upgraded, the upgrade missed it.

SIP incoming call with G722-64 codec not working

Hi, Guys.
Have setup cube sip trunk to ITSP, incoming and outgoing calls are working. Except for an incoming call with g722 codec and video h263 (just need voice call). The called number does not even ring. The caller informed that his using polycom phone.
Also, itsp provided 10 numbers for testing in which we can assigned to our phones but only the main number is working. When doing an incoming call, (dialing the other numbers except from the main number) can see always on the logs that itsp is always feeding the main number. I think it was because of the configuration under the sip-ua (register the maint number to a registrar) but itsp informed that it was also their setup for other clients and is working. Appreciate your help on these.

I have looked at your logs and here are my observations..
1. When you disabled fast start on CUCM, I asked you to enable early offer on your CUBE, however I dont see this in your logs..
This is the INVITE sent to your ITSP, as you can see, this doesnt contain any SDP, that suggest you are doing delayed offer..

1. Downgrade or upgrade your CUBE IOS. Something is not quite right with this behaviour

DIVX Converter/Codec not working with FCP and OS 10.7?

For years, I've used the DIVX Converter/Codec to output video files from Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 via the Export/Use Quicktime Conversion/Divx as a .divx file. But today, after I upgraded my OS from 10.6 to 10.7 and installed the latest version of DIVX Pro, the normal output functions pop the screen showing that the output processing has started, but it then hangs with "0%" showing in that screen. Is DIVX no longer compatible with FCP in 10.7? Or, is there some additional setting change needed somewhere to make it work as usual. Oddly, DIVX has no email contact information on its site's "Support" section and nothing in their forums appears to address this. Any suggestions or info appreciated.

Lots of codecs not working in CC Enterprise for Education

I have a private CC-acount and a Enterprise one at work. At my work I don't get all the codecs in Ae, Media Encoder and Pr. Why?? How can I resolve this? Its very frustrating to work with video with my students at the moment.

It seems you have used Non Royalty (Non Video) serial no to create Premiere Pro CC Package. Please use Video Serial to activate Premiere Pro CC and then you will get all the required codecs.
Please login to http://licensing.adobe.com and get the Video serial no for activating Premiere pro CC.
Once you get it then please use Adobe Provisioning Tool Enterprise Edition (APTEE) to create a Licensing file and then execute the same on the impacted computer.

DNG Codec Not Working On Win Vista 32Bit

Having real problems with this DNG Codec I installed onto my Windows Vista 32 Bit system and this is what's happening. Yea, I can now see my DNG raw files through picture viewer and windows explore without going through PS. Unfortunately, when I decide to close down picture viewer the program crashes every time and the computer freezes up. Then I have to choose one of the error solutions to close out the program and the computer reverts back to a normal state after that. Also there is one other quirk it has caused and that is related to the "recycle Bin". When I delete a Raw file into the recycle bin and then want to empty the bin it goes into a non-stop operation of trying to delete the files without actually doing it, go figure and anybody else having similiar problems? Oh, by the way I uninstalled the Codec to see if my computer goes back to its normal behavior and guess what, everything is working as it should so its the Codec that has a major problem.

The new box has 16 cores on the cpu whereas the old box only had 4 so I had to up AWE_WINDOW_MEMORY registry entry to 1.2GB (as the calculated 1.07GB wasn't quite enough and the suggestion was to just up it to 1.2GB!)
However, I am now getting a different issue when trying to open the database!

When I open AVI with MJPG codec in Premiere Pro CS6 video is black. Same file works on Premiere Pro CS5.5.
Same computer, same codecs. Why?
I've seen few suggestion to buy MJPG codec for $30-$40.
Why, if it's working on CS5.5?

Quicktime codecs not working

There are 2 quicktime movies on the website. See if they play in the Internet Explorer browser. I've run out of things to try and fix to get them to work. Any suggestions would be helpful. The Adobe GoLive forum is working with me on this as well. Appearantly it is not a GoLive issue so it may be Quicktime.

You've got some other issues to fix first.
Your server doesn't know what to do with .mp4 files but that fix is easy. Instead of scr="blah.mp4" just use qtsrc="blah.mp4". This will "force" the QuickTime browser plug-in to be used for playback.
Second is the GoLive current page code. It is going to try and "look" for two files because you've set it up that way. The second file is supposed to be launched in the stand alone QuickTime Player when the first file is clicked on. Trouble is that Gatorblues%20Slideshow.mp4 can't be found on your server (maybe wrong folder). If you read the source html file you'll see the two files. One is listed in the src tag and the other is listed in the href tag (target="quicktimeplayer").
When viewing the page code in GoLive you want to replace everything between the opening and closing "object" tag with the new PAGEot code.
This new code should look very similar to your current code (minus the href ="" and target="quicktimeplayer").
Your source file using "hinted" tracks that are not used in Web based downloads. Deleting them would save nearly a MB of file download time.

Just upgraded to 10.4.7 by Software Update - Avid dongle not working

I upgraded as I always do thru the Software Update - so it's the combo. Never really had problems like this before.
I had to reboot many times to get the desktop to come up - ran disk utilitly and fixed permissions and disk - no many errors. All fixed.
But can't run Avid Xpress pro - Avid says its a dongle combatability issue and is working on it.
I am asking here because I am lookin for other ideas - and I know there are many people with problems right now. I haven't used very many applications yet because of the holidays.
Someone already tried to go back to 10.4.6 with no luck.
Any suggestions.

H.264 codec not working with Pre Elements 8 demo

I downloaded premiere elements 8 and even installed the upgrade (30 day demo) and I can't open video files taken with my canon 7d camera. I have found a conversion tool to change my mov to avi but thats extra time that I dont want to spend.
From what I've read Elements 8 should be able to use the canon files but mine cant. Any suggestions?

HELP VIDEOS NOT WORKING: CODEC MISSING

Okay up till today afternoon my Mac was working just fine, Safari worked and so did everything else. I installed a new Apple Security Update which broke Safari, I reinstalled Mac OS X Panther (10.3) from scratch, immediately re-updated to 10.3.9 and installed QuickTime 7 then installed Divx 6 and try to play some of my videos in QT that worked before (I was running QT 7 this morning before OS reinstall) and now videos are not working, there is no picture or sound.
I have ran Disk Utility before and after major installations to prevent system errors. Tried reinstalling QuickTime 6.5.2 but that only seems to work when running QT 7.0.0 (version 7.0.4) got installed.
Tried deleting 7.0.4. and installing 7.0 says it cannot install QuickTime because a newer version is already on computer although I deleted it completely. Have tried installing 3ivx for QuickTime, reinstalling Divx 5.2.1, Divx 6 in different orders and still no luck.
Any ideas what can I do? Anyone have a download for Divx 5.2.1? I can always reinstall QT 6.4 (even if I have to do another OS reinstall) then install Divx 5.2.1 and then upgrading to QT 7 after installing Divx and 3ivx.
Most of my videos are in AVI - need Divx or any good video codec to play.

Thanks - I had to reinstall Mac OS X just to get QuickTime back. After I installed it I downloaded and reinstalled Divx 5.2.1 component for QuickTime then ran one of my videos just for a sec (have them saved to CD) and it worked.
Earlier I only had Divx 6 component for QT installed (when I mentioned reinstalling QT 7 and then installing Divx (before latest OS reinstall) and Divx 6 did not help any I didn't even have sound. I installed Divx 5.2.1 now and got my sound and video back.
Now I just have to recopy all my media back to my hard drive -- all the videos and music and pictures (to QuickTime, iTunes, and iPhoto). Have bookmarked the url u gave me and will refer to it in future if I need it again.

AVC INTRA CODEC is not working

Im using a dual 2.5 GHz Power PC G5 8GB ram OSX 10.4.11 and FCP studio 2 w/all the latest

I get a WARNING " AVC-intra codec is unsuported on PPC" when I try to log and transfer

Try installing this driver: IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver
If that fails, try using the HP Recovery Manager to roll back to the factory installed driver.
Test after both. Let me know if either option worked.
