Avoid 7.0.2 - Problems

Itunes 7.0.2, on first startup, has required me to change my credit card info, reauthorize my desktop (telling me I have more machines authorized than I actually do) and took me to the Apple Japan Store on first visit to the itunes store.
I would advise waiting for the 7.0.3 version which must be right around the corner.

alright!
I don't know if this will help anyone else, but I started iTunes then when it went into freeze mode (otherwise know as Gapless blah, blah, blah) I shut off my external HD and then hit the X to stop the process. Then I turned back on my HD and now I'm able to listen to music again. If your music is on your computer I have nothing for you...sorry.
I have not tried to turn off the computer and turn it back on to see if this works, but I'll report back in a few.

  • Can I use new 1080/30p Sony FX-1000 & avoid iM '09 "interlace" problems?

    The whole interlace/deinterlace/codecs, etc. problems are all way beyond me. Can I avoid all these '09 iM/iDVD image quality problems (my final goal is a great looking DVD just like I was able to do way back in the iMovie 4 days with SD) with a 1080/30p camcorder? From the discussion board I seem to conclude that all the problems relate to shooting with an "interlaced" camera, but now I just found the new Sony HDR-FX1000 (3-chip) that shoots 1080/30p. It's still HDV tape format, but that's O.K. for now. Will my '09 iM editing life be trouble-free with this camera ??? I would be buying the new 2.93 GHz iMac that just came out.

    Hi Steve: I could not begin to recap the confusions of the "deinterlaced is not interlaced" string of 300 posts over the past month re: converting interlaced acquisition to AIC and/or Quicktime and/or a hundred other options and tweeks. I just don't have a clue. What I want to do is connect a HD camcorder (I currently have a Canon HV 20 but have not done any HD editing because I don't have iM 06, 08 or 09), and am still looking for the easiest, problem-free, high quality camcorder/iM 09 combo - even if I must buy a new $3,500.00 HD camcorder (the HV 20 being not very competent or efficient on several levels) - that will let me painlessly import from camcorder to iM 09 in a way that excellent quality is retained from original acquistion through editing and iDVD disc burn. I thought deinterlacing, one of the prominent problems discussed in the 300-post string, might not apply to a 1080/30p camera since interlacing does not apply, correct?
    But I don't know of other problems that could also arise with the FX1000 1080/30p. Your advice, obviously prized throughout many discussion board topics, is equally appreciated here.

  • HT4740 How can I avoid or solve the problem of Final Cut Pro crashes when trying to Show Events Library?

    When I try to Show Events Library in Final Cut Pro, it crashes each time. Please tell me how do I work around this problem?

    Try creating a new (temporary) folder and putting all your events in there - then launch FCP X.
    If you can open the Browser, then it's possible one or more of the clips in one of your events is corrupt. Close the app and move the events back into their original places one by one (re-starting FCP X each time). This will help you find the event which has the corrupt file in it.
    If isolating the events has no effect, I suggest you trash your preferences.
    Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
    Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).
    http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
    With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs when FCP X (or any of the Apple Professional Applications) are working normally. Then when either of the applications are acting strangely, Trash the Preferences, then Restore from your backups (just a mouse-click).
    If you trash the prefs and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then your backups are up to date.
    Doesn't fix every problem, but it fixes a lot.

  • How do I avoid a/v sync problems in output files?

    Hi.
    I wanted to process a video and iMovie 09 doesn't support deinterlacing, so I deinterlaced the video in another program and generated an mjpeg avi (1920x1080), then a wav for the audio. When I import these two into iMovie 09 and paste the audio, everything works and previewing the video doesn't show any problems.
    However, when I try to export this through quicktime, the audio gets a half second lag from the beginning which is never recovered through the video. This makes the video useless, as from the first 10 seconds you notice the performers' movements don't match the song (it's a live performance from a music group).
    In the quicktime export options I select an MP4 container (no ISMA), H.264 codec, resolution 1920x1080HD, 29.97 fps (just as the source was), and automatic reference frame. The audio options are set to AAC-LC (music), because I can't select anything else.
    Is there anything I can do to make this work? Why is it working correctly inside iMovie 09 only?

    What kind of video is your source?
    Probably the answer is to use a better deinterlacing tool. There are two great tools that are free. (MPEG Streamclip and JES Deinterlacer). THere is no need to create a separate video file and audio file. Use one of these tools and convert to Apple Intermediate Codec.

  • Oracle's Best practice for avoiding contingency data problems

    What is Oracle's recommendation to avoid having contingency database problems? Is the timestamp data type good enough for avoiding having the a record updated twice?
    Any feedback is welcome.

    It means you need to lock the records all by yourself.
    3 month ago,I try to simulate the Oracle Developer_2000_Form_6I ,and I found that they use "select .. for update no wait where .. " to lock record in Text_Change event. Then I did it,It seems working ok now in my vb.net program.

  • Avoiding keyframe problems in premiere

    Hi everyone
    Recently I made my first video with premiere. I had a problem when I tried to open a saved project related with the keyframes. I searched a bit and found out that it was related with the language of the saved project so instead of using the correct form between the numbers of the keyframe (z.,z.,z.,), the project was saved using only dots (z.z.z.).
    As my project had few keyframes and was an easy one, I decided that remaking it and processing the video was easier, so that's what I did.
    Nontheless, I'm worried about my next projects, as I pretend them to be more complicated and intricated than this one. So my question is, is there any way to avoid that format-saving problem? Can I configure the program so I don't have to worry about it any more?
    I'm using Windows 7 (x64) and Premiere Pro CS6.
    Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi Yo1980,
    Sorry. iCloud is what is causing the issue, as all was fine until a recent update from Apple. We know about this issue, but are still working on a fix. For now, you may need to uninstall it or run it on a separate computer or device.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • After an automatic update, Firefox will start but immediately terminate. How can I fix this problem? I am sick and tired of manually un-installing Firefox!!

    Since Firefox version 12, after Firefox automatically applies an update, Firefox will launch and immediately terminate.
    The only solution is to manually un-install Firefox, completely clean the registry of Firefox entries, and manually re-install a previous version of Fiirefox that will work -- I use version 4.0. And then manually update that version to the current version.
    I DO NOT install the new automatic update option -- that is, the automatic maintenance option.
    BUT never the less, EVERY TIME I check for the latest version of Firefox using HELP --> About
    Firefox, the UPDATE is AUTOMATICALLY RUN and FIREFOX WILL NOT WORK AGAIN.
    I have put with this none sense for 18 versions of Firefox - MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!
    Thanks, David Breed

    You can use one of these to start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u>:
    *On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
    *On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
    *Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
    Can you bring up the Profile Manager to create a new profile (possibly when starting in Safe Mode by holding down Shift)?
    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
    If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

  • Myriad iTunes sync issues - song cutoffs - artwork problems - yeech!

    Hi all,
    I’m running the latest version of iTunes on a (late 2013) Macbook Pro Retina laptop, and having several different flavors of syncing issues with my two devices –  a 16 gb iPhone 4S running iOS 7.1, and a 32 gb iPod Touch 3rd Gen running iOS 5.1.1.
    As best I can tell, some syncing issues such as one of the ones I am experiencing (songs chopped-off when transferred and attempted to playback from the device) have existed in some way, shape or form for nearly 10 years now, so I’m not expecting any grand revelations here - but just looking for some honest advice on how to resolve in the shortest amount of time & with the least pain considering I have a fairly large music library in terms of syncing time required.  That being said, below bulleted-out are my current issues / frustrations / thoughts on where the problems may lie.   I would appreciate any advice:
    Purchased iTunes songs (ripped MP3’s from CD’s that I own and tracks from other sources do not seem to have the problem…) play fine in iTunes on my laptop, but when transferred to either my iPhone or iPod, they will randomly (it’s not every track) be cutoff near the end of the song.  Sometimes the song will stop with 2 minutes remaining and go silent. Sometimes it will stop with 15 seconds remaining and go silent.  Sometimes it will stop somewhere in that time range and start the next track on the album while still displaying the info from the previous track.  The only solution I have found to this for purchased content thus far is to wipe everything out, and go back and download the tracks from the cloud.  I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 tracks that fall into this category, so my options to download directly to the device an artist at a time are kind of time-consuming and cumbersome.  Would this have something to do with the file format of purchased tracks vs. ripped ones? I have a lot of older ripped material that was imported as MP3’s or MP3’s converted to M4A’s that never seems to have this problem.  The newer purchased files are mostly ACC’s which DO have the problem.   Also would this have anything to do with the fact that my library (including most of the purchased content) was recently moved over and imported to a new Macbook from a Windows backup?  Most of my iTunes library was Windows / PC for the majority of its existence for the past decade or so; we only recently switched back to Mac.
    Discrepancies between deleting material on a device vs. what iTunes recognizes when it is plugged back in:  The other day, being frustrated with the random song chopping, I deleted everything on my iPod Touch 3rd Gen by going into Settings, Options, General, and “Usage” and then “Edit” and selecting to wipe out everything in iTunes. The device appeared to do this, and I was showing 28 gb or so free out of 32 once it completed.  Great, right?  I proceeded the rest of that day to painstakingly download approx. 900 tracks from the cloud onto the device, hoping to correct the chopping issue.  It did this, and I still had roughly 10 gb free. Great, right?  Later that night when I plugged the iPod into my Macbook with the 30 pin to sync, iTunes on the laptop for some reason still recognized the songs which I thought I had deleted hours earlier and showed me multiple copies of everything.  For the ones that had been deleted, when I clicked to play them on the iPod through iTunes, I got the little gray exclamation point - ! – in a circle like when a track has moved libraries and cannot be found.  iTunes then told me my sync could not be completed due to being over capacity on the device by a ridiculous 12 gb or something like that. Huh?? I could have gone through and manually deleted the (by that point more than 1000) duplicate tracks and synced to have made room I suppose – but after accidentally hitting Autofill – iTunes threw up its hands and would not let me do anything further.  Any attempts at that point to delete either pending Autofill tracks or missing duplicate tracks just led to endless spinning on the “Preparing Update” notice on the device which led to me having to kill iTunes.  Can you say big-time frustration?  I eventually opted to restore the iPod to factory (iOS 5.1.1) settings and start over.  That device is currently at home slogging through the process of attempting to re-download 400 some songs from the cloud over wi-fi so that I can avoid the cutoff track problem.  The plan after that is to sync playlists for certain artists over top of the purchased tracks so that my ripped tracks can merge with them to round out the playlist. Do you see how this is beginning to become a marathon?
    Last but not least - it seems to be just since the last few iTunes upgrades for Mac, but I’m having a huge problem suddenly with album artwork staying synced properly. After one recent manual transfer session (30 pin between the iPhone and the Macbook) roughly half of the tracks I transferred had mismatched artwork.  Doing this through the cloud (downloading tracks “Not on this iPhone” via the iTunes app) doesn’t seem to have the same problem, but of course this takes longer. Also, what is the deal with “Show All Music” in iOS 7 and playing tracks from the cloud?  This is a really cool feature that allows you to save a ton of disk space on your device, but I have found that when I do this that many tracks have mismatched artwork.  For example right now I’m listening to a Grateful Dead song that is displaying Genesis artwork.  Huh?? Artwork is less of a big deal than the track lengths being chopped off, but it’s still annoying.
    iTunes revolutionized the music industry and on the whole has been fantastic.  But it seems as if lately, little irritating problems like the syncing issues are becoming more and not less prevalent, and the problem is they aren't being dealt with.  I got my first Mac in college nearly 20 years ago now, and have been generally entrhalled with Apple products ever since.  But I have to say that this kind of junk lately is more what I would expect in the vein of problems from the shoddy-PC world that seem to linger and never get fixed.  Cupertino folks - what's the deal???

    You're not the only one judging by the forums!
    Likewise I have been using Apples since the Apple IIe(!) and have found them great in every respect. iTunes however over the past couple of years has deteriorated to th point of being unuseable. Apple has made iTunes the hub of your digital life and so it really has to work seemlessly.
    I currently have had to completely wipe and re-install my 64Gb iPhone 4s several times to get my music back on to it. I cannot het any playlists to sync which is really annoying and it generally undermines my faith in Apples software quality.
    Please put whatever resources are necessary to fix this soon Apple or you will certainly start to haemorrhage customers to other platforms. After all if iTunes remains broken then what's the point of paying the extra for Apple qulaity? You may as well uplaod ebverything to Google play and be done with it!

  • Multipart problem; starts with "Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable"

    Good morning -
    I'm still a newb when it comes to my Mac mini, purchased last summer. Help me see through the fog of Microsoft thinking!
    First: A few months ago, iPhoto gave me the above error message. Repairing permissions, rebuilding thumbnails, repairing database have not worked; in reading these pages it seemed reasonable to back up before proceeding.
    Second: It seemed best to me to NOT use Time Machine to back my iPhoto library up, to avoid potentially copying the problem I'm currently having, whatever it is. I'd like to back up the pictures ONLY at first, rebuild iPhoto from the backup, and THEN use the NAS as a Time Machine backup. So...
    Third: Bought a WD My Cloud drive. Attached to my router and set it up as instructed, then used copy and paste to try to copy my iPhoto library (just short of 50GB, BTW) to the "public pictures" folder of the drive. The process hangs after a few hours with an error message indicating I don't have permissions for some files.
    What am I missing? How to proceed from here? I'm considering buying a direct-connected external drive for the initial backup of my iPhoto library, then attempt to rebuild the database, since all attempts to use the My Cloud for this purpose have been unsuccessful (I can copy documents to it, so I believe it's functioning).
    Thanks for the help.

    What format is the WD drive?
    Get carbon copy cloner to make an exact copy of your old HD to the New one, or just clone one folder if you wish...
    http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html
    Or SuperDuper...
    http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/
    And/or...
    Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this message happens.
    What all 3rd party extentions are you running?

  • Generate a PS in Indesign CS5 - PPD problem

    I am a little publisher and I migrated to Indesign from Xpress several years ago.
    I've recently installed the CS5 Premium suite and I'm very upset about the new version of Indesign. I discovered (with my surprise) that in the print window it's impossible create a PS file using a PPD different from the system installed printers.
    In the previous CS4 I was able to create PS file using the Acrobat ppd.
    I known that inside Indesign there is a good Acrobat engine which exports pdf files but, often, the CTP services have a lot of problems with the recent PDF release (version after 1.4). In the mean time if I create a PDF 1.4 directly from Indesign I can't  use the lossless jpeg 2000 compression. Instead, before (CS4), I was able to generate a PS file, where all effects were rasterized and after that I distilled it with Acrobat Distiller as a pdf 1.6 with the Jpeg 2000 compression. This way was perfect to avoid any kind of problem. I can't understand why Adobe decide to remove this stupid opportunity, if it's a little war against Apple I think that the only damage is reserved to their clients. Pls. Adobe modifies the print window in order to permit the use of different ppd; not necessarily the only ones relating the installed printers.
    Pls. forgive my poor english.
    Riccardo

    I had what seems to be a similar issue when my CS4 updated. The printer
    PPD for writing a poscript file dumped out. Not good!!!  I searched for a re
    solution on the adobe site for about an hour. No luck as well.
    I did however came up with a rather simple fix. Apparently when the update ran it cut off the PPD link for Acrobat pro 9.0. This in prefence to the update that system set up to export out as a PDF. As you know this does not work for a lot of reasons.
    What I did (on 7.0 system but should work on Vista etc.) go to your Devices/Printers, add a printer, when propted you can assign one of two Adobe PDF options as a printer. Once I did this the PPD automatically reappeard in the PPD window under the postscript option. I ran some tests and it appears to work perfectly.
    GOOD LUCK if you havn't already resolved the problem

  • NFS: server reboot - client problem with "file handle" - no unmont

    Hello,
    when I restart a NFS-server and a client has a NFS-share on it still mounted, that NFS-share becomes unusable on the client: everything causes the client complain about an old "file handle", even trying to unmount that share!
    So my question is: How to deal gracefully with a NFS-server reboot and avoiding this file handle problem?
    Apart from going to each client and unmount the NFS-share by hand?
    Thanks!

    Do I need to Give these values manually again as they are moved from Env to other?
    When we transport ID objects, the values stored in the channel get lost and have to be manually enetered......it happens even for DEV --> QA environment.
    Now your channel should reflect PROD-related data.
    2- Why my Receiver communiation channel coimg as
    Communication Channel | PRD_400 | RFC_QA3_Receiver:
    The channel name does not depend on the environment it is present....verify the name once again!

  • JFormattedTextField - verfiier problem

    I have a problem using JFormattedTextField for data entry,
    (see _postcodeTextField below ).
    Specifiying a MaskFormatter does restirct the data accepted, in this case to 4 numbers.
    My problem lies with the InputVerifier.
    When I shift the focus (using the <TAB> key) the verifier is invoked. If the
    input is invalid (e.g. 356 which consists of 3 numbers not 4) then as expected
    there is a Beep and a message dialog appears.
    Once the dialog is closed, the focus returns to the _postcodeTextField as expected.
    However, if I then enter a number, it does not appear, but if I enter the number again,
    it appears.
    Why is the first number lost?
    This code has been derived from examples found on the Sun site.
    Curiously there is mention of "focus-transfer problems" with the verifier.
    I like the ability to define an input mask to restirct data entry, but I am
    disappointed by the problems I have encountered in verification.
    I have tried a FocusHandler (extends FocusAdapter) but this also has problems.
    The new JFormattedTextField looks capable of providing the functionality I require,
    but it appears to have its quirks and will need a patch in time.
    Meanwhile, any suggestions?
    _postcodeTextField = getTextFieldWithFormat("####");
    _postcodeTextField.setToolTipText("4 digit code e.g. 4065");
    private JFormattedTextField getTextFieldWithFormat( String format )
    MaskFormatter formatter = null;
    try
    formatter = new MaskFormatter(format);
    catch (java.text.ParseException exc)
    System.err.println("formatter is bad: " + exc.getMessage());
    JFormattedTextField ftf = new JFormattedTextField(formatter);
    ftf.setFont( new Font( "Arial", Font.PLAIN, 14 ) );
    ftf.setColumns(format.length());
    ftf.setInputVerifier(new FormattedTextFieldVerifier());
    return ftf;
    } // getTextFieldWithFormat()
    public class FormattedTextFieldVerifier extends InputVerifier
    public class FormattedTextFieldVerifier extends InputVerifier
    public boolean verify(JComponent input)
    if (input instanceof JFormattedTextField)
    JFormattedTextField ftf = (JFormattedTextField) input;
    try
    ftf.commitEdit();
    catch (ParseException pe )
    return false;
    return true;
    } // verify()
    public boolean shouldYieldFocus(JComponent input)
    boolean inputOK = verify(input);
    if (!inputOK)
    //Avoid possible focus-transfer problems when bringing up
    //the dialog by temporarily removing the input verifier.
    //This is a workaround for bug #4532517.
    input.setInputVerifier(null);
    Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().beep();
    //Display a warning message.
    String message = "Please try again.";
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, message,
    "Invalid Value", JOptionPane.WARNING_MESSAGE);
    //Reinstall the input verifier.
    input.setInputVerifier(this);
    return inputOK;
    } // shouldYieldFocus()
    } // FormattedTextFieldVerifier class

    (this could be a duplicate post
    first reply disappeared into the ether)
    Meanwhile I consider you have earnt the 10 Duke points I attached to the\is topic.
    I imagine I have to award them to you or something? How do I do that?I don't really know, but keep them for when someone spends a fair bit of
    time and effort solving a problem for you.
    In this case it was just a matter of testing the code and reporting the result.
    Thanks for the offer.

  • Problem with Multiple Context Creation

    Hi,
    We are facing a java.lang.SecurityException Invalid Subject
    We need to create multiple Initial Contexts for a single thread.
    Following is the Scenario
    1) The user will access Servlet/Struts Action class which performs database call and EJB(one, two) calls with different Initial Contexts ( Credentials are different)
    2) At the same time the Timer Task runs in back ground which is invoked from servlet load-on-startup and runs for every 1 min.
    3) The Timer Task invoke an MDB this MBD will make an external EJB (three) call for business logic.
    {color:#ff0000}Please Suggest me the Sequence of step I am expecting are correct or not{color}
    1) The Timer Task will run in the same JVM where the Servlet/Action classes are loaded (WEB-CONTAINER)
    2) The Thread created for Servlet/Action class will not be shared by Timer Task.
    3) The Thread created for Timer Task and the MDB are different.
    4) So the Servlet - Thread, Timer Task Thread and MDB Thread are different.
    The Behavior of the Context is as follows according to Bea Document.
    [http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jndi/jndi.html#476864]
    JNDI Contexts and Threads
    How to Avoid Potential JNDI Context Problems (Please Refer this Paragraph)
    I am closing the entire Context's immediately after lookup
    Still we are facing this java.lang.SecurityException Invalid Subject Exception Problem
    The Context of EJB which we are calling from MDB is sharing the Servlet/Action Class Context -- Credentials
    Example_
    {color:#ff0000}Servlet/Action Class Context Credentials -- are user1/pass1{color}
    {color:#ff0000}EJB (three) Context Credentials -- are user3/pass3{color}
    When EJB (Three) lookup is invoked it&rsquo;s throwing the following Exception
    *java.lang.SecurityException: [Security: 090398] Invalid Subject: user1*
    Please advise to solve this problem
    Thank You.

    Solved By myself
    There is problem while passing data to internal table for item level
