Avoid automatic (?) rotation when combining multiple files into 1 pdf

As I do often have to mark up (stamp) and print large number of single A3 size pdfs (converted dwg files) I am combining them (explorer) into 1 new pdf. Thus enabling just 1 print job instead of 50-100 !
So far no problem - combining works fine & all drawings are even landscape.
However when applying custom stamp on each sheet (first time all the way in acrobat - all next sheets with copy - paste because:
much faster
often resizing required
sometimes even rotating required.
Seems originally not "landscape" orientated files were (at least in the view) re-orientated causing the applied stamp to be 90 - 180 or -90 degrees offset
When I manually remove the stamp on this page and insert a new one via Acobe Acrobat (not copy paste) the orientation is ok. Rather amazing.
Got some more related questions but think 1 step at the time is more convenient.
As often 50-100 dwg's are involved the copy-paste method (after resizing once) turns out most efficient till now.
How can I control / avoid the automatic rotation or anticipate on the (obviously) rotating stamps ?
I will have to move the stamps anyway because I can hardly ever put a stamp at the same position on a drawing.
[It turns out to be almost impossible to get draughtsman to leave an empty space on each drawing ...]
Once again thanks in advance for any suggestion !

Some additional info:
main issue: how to avoid files to be rotated during combining? The rotating is not the real issue - however when applying the stamp using Ctrl-C => Ctrl-V the apllied stamp seems to track the original position of the file .... Amazing however: when adding  a stamp with Adobe acrobat the "common" way the orientation of the stamp is OK !!
Also: files to be combined do not always have same original size (A3 - A1 - A0 sometimes also A4 or A2 !!) so I do quite often have to re-size my stamp. Do realize I can probably solve this by printing the "binder"document to a pdf first - with setting A3 paper size. I'll try it first !
Would be nice to be able to insert a stamp on each sheet of the binder-document with 1 action (Macro ?) and - importatnt - have the stamp located at same position on each page. Would still require a check as draughtsman don't always leave free space available at same location (if any at all )

  • Hiding filenames when combining multiple files into a single .pdf

I'm fairly new to this Acrobat X. I'm trying to assemble my portfolio to distribute to employers but I cannot seem to get rid/hide the filenames in the final pdf file. I was using the option to 'combine multiple files into a single pdf' because I was compiling images and documents to a single readable pdf file. I got all that done but once I open it, I'd see that each page would still contain the original file names rather than page numbers - which I prefer not to have employers see for the sake of tidiness (and I refuse to use the Adobe portfolio because it's not really efficient on space or design. I prefer a simple page-by-page pdf). So I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to hide my file names, change them into page numbers or getting rid of them all together so the 'Table of Contents' in the pdf preview mode would not show anything, I would really much appreciate it.
    -Ss

Well, when the .pdf is in the final, deliverable form; I open it in Mac preview mode and the sidebar is always extended showing a 'table of contents' rather than having each document in the pdf file have a number designating a page name, it shows each individual filename the pdf is composed of. Not too sure about bookmark, though. Thanks for the reply!
If you want, I can send the file to you.

  • Acrobat 7 freezes when combining multiple files

I'm running Acrobat 7 Standard, and whenever I attempt to combine multiple PDF files acrobat will freeze up completely. It can scan, and add pages to an open document with no trouble. It will freeze whether I choose Create PDF From Multiple Files within acrobat, or if I select multiple files in windows explorer, then right click and choose Combine in Acrobat...
I have cleared temporary files, repaired the program, and completely reinstalled the program. Even after a fresh reinstallation, it will lock up when trying to combine multiple files. It does everything else just fine.
I am running a HPCompaq dc5100 MT, with Windows XP Pro. I have 2GB ram, and a P4 3.2Ghz processor. I also have a database program called Laserfiche that I run, though this problem occurs whether I have Laserfiche open or not. I've already tried killing all acceptable processes (minus adobe's of course) and recreated the error. I've also tried this with the most recent update 7.1.0 and without: both yeild the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Dear all,
I think I have the same problem... or not ?!
=> When I try to open multiple files at the same time it opens only the 2 or 3 first ones then it freezes on the Spinning Beach Ball of Death !
=> Then it never completely finishes loading and freezes up Indesign.
=> I am unable to cancel the dialog box and have to use cmd+alt+esc to close the program
=> then, the files open directly on indesign when I open the program again (jus as if the files had been loaded and ready to go)
I am working on MAC OS X (10.7.3)
Anybody could help please ?? (sorry for my english... I'm a French native speaker)

  • Error when Combining Multiple File Types

I can't combine multiple file types into one pdf, e.g. .docx and .xlsx files.  The combine feature only seems to be working to combine .pdf and .jpg file types.  An error message stating the below appears. Does anyone have a solution?
    Thank you.

no i can't seem to do that either. the only way I have found to get around it. It's long winded... i export the jpgs from Indesign CS4, then take the jpgs into photoshop CS4 and baiscally resave over the top the of the original jpg without changing any settings, this will then let me combine them in Acrobat Pro 9. for now i will be doing it that way but if anyone knows of another way that would be great.

  • Combine ppt files into pdf - picture issue

    Hello All,
we are trying to combine several ppt files into one pdf document . Joining process went correctly, but some pictures in the final pdf are broken. If we try to save separate file to pdf, there is no issue. This issue is visible only during marging several ppts files into pdf. Please, do somebody know, where shoold be a problem ? (Office 2013, Adobe Acrobat XI)
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Peter

    Hi Peter Drgon,
One possible solution would be to replace the broken images of the combined pdf with original ones.
You can select the particular broken images from your ppt file and convert them to pdf,
then import that image containing pdf into your combined pdf file and later you can use 'edit text and images' tools to replace the broken Image in your combined pdf file.
Does that help? If you face any challenges or if i have misinterpreted your issue. Please let me know.

  • Combining multiple files into a single PDF/A

The issue brought up in another discussion is the loss of PDF/A conformity when “merging” multiple PDF/A files into a single file (I use PDF/A for preservation of corporate records). The “insert” option retains conformity but does not allow inserting multiple files in a certain order, unless you insert them one by one (which is a pain when you have 50 files to attach).
The solutions I’ve come up with so far:
    1)     1)  In AAPro – combine files into a single PDF and then convert it to PDF/A using Preflight. This is easy, my only problem is that I don’t have AAPro (and AAStandard doesn’t convert to PDF/A).
    2)     2)  In AAStandard – combine files into a single PDF and then “print” to PDF/A. The problem of this “re-frying” is that it only creates PDF/A-1b (not 1a), bookmarks and OCR of scanned pages are lost, and files become significantly larger.
I wonder if anyone knows a more intelligent way around this problem, provided that I only have AAStandard. Thanks!

  • Need to merge multiple files into pdf automatically

    Guys,
I need to automate merging files into one pdf, i have looked everywhere and cannot seem to find an answer for it.  I need to know if there is a command line tool for acrobat so i can use it in my batch file to combine files?

    Hi Lauravill,
The free Adobe Reader cannot help you with the merging job. If you have Acrobat Reader then you can merge files into one pdf with the following steps-
Within Acrobat XI, select File > Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF.
Click Add Files and select the files you want to add.
Click, drag, and drop to reorder the files and pages. Double-click on a file to expand and rearrange individual pages. Press the Delete key to remove unwanted content.
When finished arranging the files, click Combine Files.
Select File > Save As > PDF.
Name your PDF file and click Save.
Let us know if you face any problemwith this or need extra support.
    Thanks

  • How to Combine multiple files into the one file?

    Hi all,
How do I combine multiple canon hf10 avchd files into the one file with a new extension. No need to be compressed.
Afterwards, I also want to split this combined file to original files.
    Need Help!

Yes, angelanna. You can merge or split your video file via FCP sequence.
ahaah, maybe I think angelanna would like to get the resulting file with MTS format because he mentioned “No need to be compressed”. Are you asking for this, angelanna?
If so, a simple MTS files managing and editing tool  is needed. Maybe you can have a try the Mac version of Aunsoft Final Mate for managing HD camcorder footages. I just downloaded its free trial version and it offers a simple way of garping footages directly  from camcorder. And also it provides a attractive feature to join flawlessly and split accurately native MTS files for video file output with original MTS format.
Maybe this is the tool cwhich an help you out, angelanna.
    Enjoy your video.

  • Problems when importing multiple files into key frames

I'm creating an interactive flash application that uses hundreds of individual renders from a 3d modelling app.  The image file size is 800 x 600.  Each sequence that i import to the stage is around 120 images and each gets put into a separate key frame.  The problem is, often when I import batches of files into flash the program crashes and stops responding. The problem gets worse after each succesful import ie. after importing the first lot of files, its unlikely that the second lot of files will import.
Interestingly, I dont have this problem on my pc.  So I can  do all the importing on my pc, but when I try and compile the swf file my pc does not create a file and sometimes crashes.  So I am having to import on my pc and compile the swf on my mac.
Anyone else having similar problems? is there a better way of going about this?

flash is limited to 16,000 frames.
use several swfs and load them into a main swf.

  • Missing photos when opening multiple files into Photoshop from LR3.2

When I try to open multiple files (8+ maybe) from Lightroom 3.2 to edit in Photoshop CS5, almost always one or two photos does not open. This means I have to manually find out which photos are missing, and then reopen them.
Can anyone help me with this problem??

I have opened as many as 50 from external hard drive with LR 3.2 and Windows XP with no problem.
It takes a long time to bring in this many if they are 100MB tiffs.  I had to go have coffee and come back later.
Are you sure you waited until it was finished?

  • I purchased the Adobe PDF Pack but it won't allow me to convert any files to pdf or combine multiple files to into 1 pdf form. It keeps saying "Error occurred while trying to access the file". WHY

I purchased the Adobe PDF Pack for $7.50/month (or $89.99/yr) but it won't allow me to convert any files to pdf or combine multiple files into 1 pdf form. It keeps saying "An error occurred while trying to access the service". WHY is this happening & How can I fix it?

    Hi hpmg,
It seems you are trying to access the service via Adobe Reader. Make sure you are signed in with your Adobe ID. Is Reader updated to the latest patch v 11.0.09?
It might be possible that a firewall or antivirus might be breaking the connectivity from Reader to the server.
Try accessing the service from the browser: https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf  and check if that works for you.

  • Solution for undefined Sym when compiling multiple files

Hi, I'd like to suggest a solution for the common 'undefined sym' problem.
Combining all the source files into one file solves the problem quite effectively.
I'm not sure if this is due to gcc, or some name mangling scheme that's throwing
the avm2 off but in any case, when I compile multiple c++ files 'separately', ie
    g++ (or gcc) A.c B.c C.c -O3 -DOSX -DRT_AS3 -swc -o library.swc
    results in
    1) undefined _main if main() is not in C.c (but in another file which is not last in the list),
    and
    2) calling ANY function in A.c or B.c from C.c results in an "undefined sym" runtime error.
When combining the files into one unit however, and then compiling that unit works fine:
    on linux/darwin:
    cat A.c B.c C.c > unit.c
    g++ (or gcc) unit.c -O3 -DOSX -DRT_AS3 -swc -o library.swc
    hope this helps someone.
    J

Perhaps I didn't explain my question well enough. We already are using a dependency management system (based on jam - blows the doors off of make). However, some of our libraries that we build consist of many ( 100+ ) individual .cpp files, and there are many of these libraries in a dependency hierarchy. Invoking the compiler once per file seems to be a source of considerable overhead. I want to invoke the compiler only twice per library, no matter how many individual .o files need to be rebuilt - once to rebuild the out of date subset of .c files (one "-c" style invocation, no link step, generate object files only), and once to link the rebuilt .o files and the unchanged .o files into the target shared object.
However, the compiler will not accept multiple "-o" flags, forcing us to invoke it once per file if we want to specify an output name. I want an option (or a workaround) that will allow us to specify multiple source files, and the output name for each in one compiler invocation. One approach could be a flag that could be used repeatedly to specify source file name / object file name pairs on the command line. Another would be a flag that set a derivation rule by which the output object file name would be generated from the input source file name.
Repeatedly invoking the entire toolchain to compile one file of many, when the include dependency graphs, symbol tables, template instantations, etc. of each of those files are certain to overlap to a great degree, seems to me like a huge waste. Why must we reparse std::basic_string for each source file if we know the build environment is the same, just because we want to specify the output filename?

  • Combine multiple drawings into ONE SHEET

Hello, this is a question on Acrobat Pro, ver 8, using Windows XP. I guess I understand how to combine multiple files into a single PDF-file. However, this morning I happened to see the option mentioned in the subject line. When you go to "Combine files" > "Getting started with combined files" and select "CAD drawings" the description reads: "Combine multiple drawings into one sheet that's easy to navigate and print". How can this be done? I need to combine 8 ea CAD drawings (already converted to PDF) into ONE SHEET for printing without having the need taping 8 pieces of paper together. Arranging the drawing within the CAD application is not an option because the files were delivered by a 3rd party company and they only deliver PDFs

    Hi Priya,
You can do this by merging the requets.
       1. goto Se10 and right click on the request and seelct merge requests.
       2. It will ask you from request and to request. Give the request names.
       3. After merging first request contents will be added to second request and
           first request will be deleted.
Like that you can merge 3 requests to one request.
Let me know if you want more info.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Siri.
