Avoid Highways in Maps

Why is there no way to avoid highways when getting directions in Maps? Sometimes I'm not always looking for the quickest way there, but instead the safest.
Example: A month ago I was in a town (on business) I was not familiar with and the weather turned very ugly. I did not feel safe getting on the highway to return to my hotel, so I was forced to go to the big "G" (Google) to find alternate routes. Apple really needs to add some customization when it comes to navigation.

Validate your fonts using Font Book.
How to use Font Book to validate fonts
      1. Open Font Book in your Applications folder.
      2. Select All Fonts.
      3. Now click in the list of fonts and select all (Edit > Select All).
      4. Under File in the Menu bar, select Validate Fonts.
      5. Duplicate fonts will be marked with either the yellow badge or a black dot.
      6. Select to remove or delete duplicates.*
      7. Delete font caches (how to)
      8. Restart your computer
    * Step 6 – remove or delete duplicates is where the tricky part comes in. You can select to let Font Book disable or remove duplicates, but I’ve found that it removes the one you have not been using rather than selecting the best option. See Font Management in OS X, by Kurt Lang, for more info on fonts.

  • I want to avoid or reject mapping import from AD to UPA in sharePoint 2010

I don't want the Title from AD to go to UPA I n Sharepoint 2010
Like I don't want any updates from AD to UPA regarding the Attribute title in AD In UPA the property is TITLE
but I have removed mapping I feel their is Hidden mapping between the AD and UPA for the TITLE property.

    Hello,
As per my R&D, it does not seems to possible to remove standard properties. AD Title property by default map with SPS-jobtitle, which is the standard way. May i know why you want to avoid this?

  • BB10 Maps

My biggest issues with maps are the following items:
    - Blackberry traffic gave you different options to travel based on times and usually gave you a more direct route than current Maps app. Why can't this be solved in BB10?
    - Why isn't there a spedometer on my app?
    - There is a notification shown if there is an issue coming up, why can't I click on it to see what the issue is?
    - Why can't I report an issue if I see one? That way I can help my fellow BB10 users with their drive.
BB10 Maps is a very basic shell of an app. My wife's 5 year old GPS system has more information on it than my new and amazing OS10 dvice. I currently use a Z10 and Classic and both show me that I should just add Waze, Google Maps, of even BeMaps which doesn't have turn by turn verbal navigation. I understand that it takes time to upgrade apps but it has been over 2 years with BB10 and this app is severely lacking in ability.
What is the timeline to upgrade this app?

@Xandrex Maps in BB10 combines the functions of Maps + Traffic in the legacy BBOS devices.
@kpbutton I have since forgotten details of Traffic so it is hard for me to compare. But there are options in BB10 to set default selections for shortest route, simplest route, fastest route, and avoid toll roads or not, avoid highways or not, etc. And Maps chooses the route based on traffic, apparently in real time. I use it all the time and have had times where it changed the route in mid trip to route me around a bad accident or similar backing up traffic.
Don't know about speedometer. Not something important to me.
I do remember Traffic would tell you, or show you information on an incident ahead. Again, not important to me. If Maps knows there is congestion and warns me, or routes me around it, I don't need to know what it's about.
Reporting? From what I can tell the underlying service is receiving information from emergency reporting networks. And I can think of issues with users making reports, from practical jokers to distracted drivers trying to drive and enter information into the app. I don't see an issue with it as it is.
Is use Maps all the time and haven't had the need for a standalone GPS in a long time. I would hardly describe BB10 Maps as a basic shell of an app. But if there is something you need that another app provides, I won't argue with you about what works for you.

  • Maps offers NO alternate route options?

Yes, I know you can close to walk or take public transport but I thought it used to let you choose "avoid highways" & even drag routes! Am I missing something????? I've returned to google simply to avoid highways.

I don't understand the lack of options either. It's rather shocking. I am visiting Austin right now and if you land up on a toll road without the pre-paid card, I'm told the fines are steep. Avoiding highways and tolls can be critical.  The only thing you can do now, is look at the map and start the drive on your own, then hope it reroutes you - or use it but ignore the route when it's putting you on the highway and again, hope it reroutes you (instead of directing you to the highway for 1/2 hour like it did to me until I quit the app).
Best option for now: download Google Maps. It's a pain in that you need to paste the addresses. But it's also better in that it's voice nav works on protable bluetooth speakers whereas Apple's still doesn't.
    Disappointing.

  • Value Mapping in Import Manager

    Hi All,
I have Probelm while loading data to MAIN TABLE through Import manager,I am getting XML file from Legacy System in which legacy sends State Code like NM (for New Mexico) .In my region table I made Name and Code as display field .Created my Import map ,when ever new value comes for region value mapping is not working ,I tried changing my region table with code only display field it works ,but I want Name also display field .
Note : all my lookup table Remote key mapping Enabled
Is there any way we can acheive this or am I missing some thing here .
    Thanks,
    Madhu

    Hi Madhu,
    to achive this:
    1. First go to the table where you are maintaining the region codes.
    2. Enter the region code there and then go to the import manager by connecting to the source file.
    3. go the region field map by opening the map.
    4. go to value mapping pane and select unmap.
    5. then select Automap and check the that your region code added manually is mapped with the source file.
    6. You may see some unmapped source values, map it to Null values at destination.
    7. Save the map.
    8. This shoul enable the import for you.
if you want to avoid the manual mapping everytime, you should be getting all the region codes once and import/update it in the data manager as a one time job.
Then you avoid steps 1 to 3 everytime and carry out the remaining steps to import the records.
Hope this helps resolve the issue.
    Thanks
    Rahul

  • Mapping creation best practice

What is the best practice while designing OWB mappings.
Is it best to have less number of complex mappings or more number of simple mappings particularly when accessing remote DB to
    extract the data.
A simple mapping may be having lesser number of source tables and the complex mapping may be one
which will have more source tables and more expresssions.

If you're an experienced PL/SQL (or other language) developer then you should adopt similar practices when designing OWB mappings i.e. think reusability, modules, efficiency etc. Generally, a single SQL statement is often more efficient than a PL/SQL procedure therefore in a similar manner a single mapping (that results in a single INSERT or MERGE statement) will be more efficient than several mappings inserting to temp tables etc. However, it's often a balance between ease of understanding, performance and complexity.
Pluggable mappings are a very useful tool to split complex mappings up, these can be 'wrapped' and tested individually, similar to a unit test before testing the parent mapping. These components can then also be used in multiple mappings. I'd only recommend these from 10.2.0.3 onwards though as previous to that I had a lot of issues with synchronisation etc.
I tend to have one mapping per target and where possible avoid using a mapping to insert to multiple targets (easier to debug).
From my experience with OWB 10, the code generated is good and reasonably optimised, the main exception that I've come across is when a dimension has multiple levels, OWB will generate a MERGE for each level which can kill performance.
    Cheers

  • How to map Portal User groups to a MDM System?

    Hi,
Have anyone tried mapping portal user group to a MDM System?
The idea is to avoid each user to do user mapping for MDM of their own.
When i look into the usermapping section of a portal user group, it shows me a message -
"There are no systems available for user mapping for the selected principal"
    Thanks and best regards,
    Arun prabhu S

    Hi All,
    Got it!
    1. Create portal users,
    2. Create a portal user group,
    3. Assign Users to User group,
    4. Go to System Administration, edit permission of the MDM system, add the user group to the MDM system permission list and save
    5. Go to User Management, modify the user grooup, go to the User mapping of the user group and do mapping for MDM system and user group using a valid MDM User name and password and Save
    6. In User Management, modify the Portal role for MDM , add the user group to the role and save
    7. Edit permission of the role object, add the user group to the permission list and save
    Result:
All the users assigned to the user group will be able to access MDM information on the portal correspond to the MDM mapping done at the user group level. This avoids self user mapping in personalization link.
    Best regards,
    Arun prabhu S

  • Nokia Drive lacks Serbia map

    Hi,
I am using Lumia since launch, and one of functions I wanted is a good navigation application. Then I got a Nokia Drive, but there is no map for my country (well there is, only two main highways are mapped...)? All other navigation companies have very detailed maps of Serbia(iGo, Garmin, Navigon). It's even more ridicoluos that many of them use Navteq maps... Almost any other European country have detailed maps. Anybody can give a reasonable explanation for this? I can't understand that

    There's no reasonable explanation man
    Check the thread:

  • Update maps data

Good day. Will this year's update maps? If yes, when? It also explained that the maps provided by Navteq. Navteq has been doing since August 2010 appears Slovenian motorway A4. It is so sad that in January 2011 still do not see the highway Ovi maps.

But here's the A4 motorway displayed - it is Navteq.
Ovi has highway maps :-( So I still go to Navteq?

  • Re-routing options on E90 and RTTI

I have a problem considering rerouting of a route. When I type where I want to go, it gives me the route and is ready to navigate to the spot, but should I choose a different route, the navigator does not let choose a different route. Only options I can choose are: Avoid highways, avoid roads that have a charge and set a road block. I remember that in maps 1.1 I could choose another route and it worked like a toilet in a train. I have updated the fw of the phone, formated the memorycard and installed maps million times again and again and again. Does anyone have a solution, as I am running out of wisdom.
Also I wish to critisize the RTTI-function. In Finland the midnight summer festival time makes the roads heavily congested. The RTTI should report traffic jams and reroute the route to somewhere else. I updated the RTTI-info several times during the journey and I have double checked that the options are set accordingly so that it should work. But there I was on road number 5 and RTTI showed that everything should be smooth as baby skin. BS!

    1.  How much total RAM can you install on this?  I know the standard 4 and 8 gig options can be bought, but how whats the max configurable that will work?
16GB max in a current macbook pro.
    2. I'm debating installing either an SSD or larger drive on this.  I'd like to be able to run a few windows VM's on the box, possibly 2 Server VM's (2K8R2) and a windows 7 VM.  Is this realistic?
SSD's still don't have the same max capacities as HDD's and of course are way more expensive.  For what you are suggesting you want to stuff on to the disk I think you would be better off with a larger capacity HDD.
    3. How difficult is it to add the SSD (or any other drive) and re-install the Mac OS on it?  I'm fairly good with windows and all..but relatively new to Macs.
See OWC's instructional video on replacing a drive in the 15" macbook pro.

  • Filename in an alert message

    Hi Friends,
I am doing a simple file to idoc scenario.
    if mapping error occurs.
the requirement is to trigger an alert which says "A mapping error occurred when processing the file XYZ.txt"
    Constraints are:
    1. BPM is not used as it is a simple scenario.
2.RFC lookup during mapping is to be avoided since if mapping itself fails then it will be of no use.
Is there a way/work around to get the filename dynamically in the alert message.
    Thank you,

Seems to be not possible without a BPM.....at least by using a standard alert procdure
Using a mapping get the FileName .....have both the source and target message as the same.....
map the FileName to some empty node of the structure.
In the mapping logic, one for which you want to check for any exception, do not make use of the node containing the FIleName...let the rest mapping remain as is
Create a Container Variable and Assign the node containing the FileName to it using a Container Operation.
    Then raise the Alert.
I have used a similar approach in one of my interfaces.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • File adapter problem - xml file

Is there a way to define in the sender file adapter the document name for a XML file?
This is the xml file that arrives to XI,
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <dataroot generated="">
    <Materials1>
      <CODE>FAMILY</CODE>
      <TYPE>A75</TYPE>
      <NAME_EN>LUBRICANT</NAME_EN>

      <NAME_DE>LUBRICANT_GERMAN</NAME_DE>
        </Materials1>
      </dataroot>
I have to define the name of the Message Type as "dataroot" in order to avoid problems at mapping time. The problem is that I get from MDM the same structure begin each time,
    <dataroot generated="">
Is there a way to define the XML Document Name in the Sender File Adapter?

    Hello Rob,
FOr ""dataroot" element "generated" is the attribute.... define this attbute in the datatype as well..

  • How to set JMS Header Property without using DynamicConfiguration.

    Hi,
My Scenario is: PDF File -->XI -->JMS
I need to send the PDF file as it is to JMS receiver, which shouldn't be a problem. The problem is I need to set the same file name in the Receiver JMS header property.
So to do this I am using DynamicConfiguration in message mapping but when File Adapter picks the PDF file (as it is) I get the run time mapping error which is quite obvious since message mapping expects the data in xml format.
Do you have any idea if I can avoid the message mapping and set the Dynamic Configuration somewhere else (not sure if java mapping can help here) or if there is some Module available to set file name in JMS header.
Note: PDF File name is dynamic.
    Thanks!

I am on XI 3.0. I am not good in java.. can someone give an example?
    Update:-
I have done some changes to my code and now it is working for me. Since I don't have much knowledge in Java (except writing UDFs )so don't know how good this coding is but defiantly this is my first step to learn Java APIs. Thanks to everyone for their comments & suggestions!!

  • File Adapter-Module configuration

    Hi All,
    I have the following requiremnt.
    "Duplicate files should not process"
Following are the File Access Parameters.
Source Directory: ABC (ex: contains aa1,aa2,aa3,aa4 files)
    Filename: *
    File name mask: aa*
My doubt is if they place aa1 file again in ftp , i should not process.
For this I'm thinking to write module configuration.
Can any one suggests , whether this is the correct approach? If it is could u explain how to write this module and where to write this module and how to import in xI, do i need to pass any parameter name in module configuration.
    Regards,
    venu.

    Hi Venu,
You can go with Module in the Sender File Adapter.
First you need to check the file name and you need to store this file name in the Database.( you can use Java Database).
If there is an entry in the database for that file, then reject the whole file as per the business requirement. So that you can avoid , overhead of Mapping. Because if there is an error set the flag in the message and check this flag in your Receiver Determination, if it is an error send into error directory.
Another way is outside the XI, i.e using shell scripts.

    Moorthy
