Avoid iPhone to be detected as camera

Is there any way to avoid the iPhone being detected as a camera. Because whenever I connect it to my PC, Abode Lightroom starts up (which I want to do when I connect my actual camera).

win XP should launch a options window when you plug the iPhone in. Just select iTunes as the default app. It should default to that action after that.

My friend lent me his iphone 4 until i can change my phone, so i went home and connected it to my computer but it only detected it as a still camera.
I tried reinstalling itunes and all other advice suggested by people but it still can't be detected. But when I connected it to my brother's computer itdetected it right away. Anyone knows a solution to this? i owned an iphone 3gs before but never encountered this problem. Any help would be great. Thanks

For unknown reason:
1.itunes doesn't open when i connect to iphone. it needs manual opening. good thing, iphone is still detected on the 'devices'
2. iphone is not detected as camera. it doesn't open the camera wizard. i tried to enable the device it but the apple device is not in the scanners and cameras.
I am using windows xp
my device is iphone 4. i tried using with iphone 3gs but still not working.
i would really appreciate your help.

Iphone detected as camera in window 7

hi,
need help in my iphone 3g, i have installed the latest itunes and trying to make a backup it seem that my iphone is detected as camera and i can't seem to get the iphone detected in itunes. I am using window 7 home premium. I have try to use my friend laptop which have window xp install on it and it seem to be detected as iphone in itunes. Hope someone can help me.

I am also having several issues with my 3G iPhone after updating to OS4. I have tried the double reboot, removed all the apps from the folders and shut down all open pages in safari. I am so disappointed in Apple, all this crap that I have to do reminds of trying to work in windows. I thought I was done with all the headaches when I switched to Mac's but I guess with success comes arrogance. welcome to Macrosoft! Or maybe I'm just holding it wrong. Never thought I would feel this way about Apple.

Seems like there may be a user issue here. Try replacing the user, see if that resolves the problem.

IPhone cannot be detected in WinXP

My iPhone cannot be detected by any computers. It does not charge at all except I connect it to the power plug.
I tried,
1) Connected to my primary computer with iTune 8.2.1
2) Connected to my secondary computer with iTune 8.2.1
3) Connected to my primary notebook without iTune
4) Connected to my colleague's computer with iTune 8.2.1, his iPhone is detected, so the usb cable must be OK.
Anyone can help????

Hi,
Are you directly connecting the iPhone to the computers with the Dock Connector to USB Cable?
If not, try plugging the iPhone into a USB2 port on the computer using the cable that came with the iPhone.

Iphone not getting detected by itunes after upgrade to 10.5

Hey guys,
Last night after the release of 10.5 itunes, my iphone is not detected in itunes. I dont know what's the problem, I am on Windows 7 and It's able to detect my iphone just as a camera. I've tried using it on my friends laptop running windows vista, there i'm able to detect my iphone but no on my comp.
I've tried starting services from Administration i.e. apple mobile and ipod services.
But i'm not able to find any solution to it. Do let me know guys if any one of you is facing this problem with me and does anyone has the solution to it?

I am having the same problem although I think mine is probably worse than yours. My iphone was detected by itunes both after i updated it to iOS 5.01 and after i jailbroke it. I then downloaded a few cydia apps and it would no longer detect my camera folder on my computer...so I said screw it I'll start over. So I deleted all the cydia apps/tweaks I downloaded and then I was able to see my camera folder again.
BUT WAIT now itunes wont detect my iphone. I tried redownloading all my tweaks and apps but I still get nothing. I tried reinstalling cydia but still nothing. I tried connecting my iphone to another computer with a fresh copy of itunes and still nothing. This is REALLY bad since now I can't even restore my iphone. PLEASE HELP!

If you don't have a backup then the only possible solution is to go back to the store and see if they can get your old phone and create a backup of that. I know very often that Apple employees will wipe the returned iPhones clean before shipping them back to wherever they ship them.
When you say your old phone was "broken" does this mean it is dead and won't turn on?
Do you have a Time Machine backup of your computer, or a clone that might have this info on it?
Other than that I hate to say you may be out of luck. Time Machine and/or a cloning program performed regularily will inevitably save your a** in situations like this.

Thank you very much for your reply gdgmacguy :) I did all you suggested apart from restore as new device . Didn't know I could do that . After restore I did restore from back up only, as I didn't want to end up without contacts details on my phone. If I restore as new device how do I get my all contacts? Still will have to use back up? Sorry if it sounds like I don't know what i am doing, i just have no one to ask who would know. Thank you

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

My macbook pro no longer detects my camera.

My macbook pro no longer detects my camera.
After downloading thousands of photos, my mac no longer sees my camera. Nothing has changed. I have tried restarting the mac, using fresh batteries, different usb ports. When I try to download photos, iphoto opens up on it’s own, but my camera does not show up. Neither does it show up in any finder window, or under disk utilities.

Nikon D90
