Avoid photo download option

I am facing this problem:
When publishing a photo website with iWeb there seems to way to avoid the 'download' (phot) option!
What I want is to show pictures but not to offer a download. Any ideas?
Thanks
Thorge

If you're putting the photos in a Photo page or Album page layout go to the Inpsector/Photos/Photos pane and set the Photo Download Size to "None":
However, that won't stop someone from taking a screenshot of the photos.  There's no way to stop that but it will only give them a small version of the photo that won't be much good for printing.   If that's a concern you can add a watermark to the photos.  Go to MacUpdate.com and search for "watermark" to get a list of potential application candidates.

  • Remove the photo download option - Can it be this easy?

So I've been using the html snippet to disable the download button. While I was fixing some stuff tonight. I stumbled upon this.
Go into you photo and click the inspector - blue "i" at the bottom tool bar. A little window will open up. Click on the third icon, a little picture. Click Photos. Select "None" in the photosharing download size drop down menu. The Download option disappears in the album. I just tried it and it works! The download option in the published site is gone.
    Check it out:

just try to download a photo now. Seriously, try, let me know if you can.
I still have some text saying that the download option is disabled. I'll leave that there for a bit.

    2) it took me a bit longer this time (~4min), *all the tools are in within Safari*

  • Creating a photo gallery with photo download option

    Good morning,
I need to create a page on my website where I can have a photo gallery WITH the option to download a photo, or the entire gallery. Can someone tell me, or point me to a video tutorial on how to do this?
If you are familiar with SmugMug, or Zenfolio, they have that option where I can click to download the entire gallery or a single photo, and it downloads in the form of a zipped file.
Can someone help me with this please?
    Thank you,
    Alex
(I would use SmugMug or Zenfolio, but my volume does not justify the cost)

    Welcome Alex  -
Any picture you display on your site can be saved to the visitor's computer.
If you ZIP each gallery, a simple link to the zipped archive will offer the visitor
an option to save to their computer.

  • Adding photo download option to computer

I have an HP all in one with a photo memory card slot.  How do I add my Asus notebook so that the memory card will download photos to the Asus?  I can't find this anywhere.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
It is a bit confusing -- however, if I understand your question, the following might help:
Your mystery HP printer, like many consumer (home) printers, may have the ability to print your photos from a memory card that is placed directly into the printer.
This same mystery printer may NOT have the ability to download those photos into a memory on the printer.  Although HP printers are smart - for printers - they are usually not as smart as computers (yet).
    The following might work:
Leave the memory card inside the camera
and IF the camera has a mini port connector on it,
then you can connect a mini-port-to-USB cable to that
Connect the cable to the computer
    Switch on the camera
and copy the photos from the camera to the computer
Even without software, modern computer Operating Systems can capture photos from cameras.
    OR
go to your camera's Website and get some software to use -- most camera vendors provide some rudimentary software to help download the photos to the PC environment.
Click the Kudos Thumbs-Up to show you appreciate the help.

  • Bridge CS4 Photo Downloader issue

If I use Bridge CS4 photo downloader to retrieve images from a CF card, the download appears successful. Bridge and photoshop can process all files without problem from the download directory.
Subsequently, if I use Digital Photo Professional (Canon's provided image browser - known as DPP) to view the download directory, DPP will crash with a "DPPViewer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close ..." fatal error window.
If I subsequently delete the first file from the download directory, DPP will successfully operate without crashing.
I have performed this test multiple times and it is "reasonably consistent".
If I use PhotoMechanic to download the images (Rather than Photo Downloader), DPP will never have an issue reading all files.
If I change Photo Downloader options to uncheck "Preserve Current File Name in XMP" and "Apply Metadata" to NONE, files can be imported by Photo Downloader and read properly by DPP.
My interpretation of this is that Digital Photo Downloader may have a problem properly downloading the first file from the CF card (hummm. a boundary condition :-) this may be associated with metadata.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

Seems like I have seen posts where the autoload does not work correctly when you plug in a usb device  with 64 bit systems.  This is Windows Os thing.  Might google this to check for solutions.

  • Iweb photo gallery -- download option unwanted

I just created my first site using iweb and put a photo gallery on there. I noticed that there is a download option which I DO NOT want on there!! I want to make my photo galleries view ONLY! Is there a way to change the settings??
    Thanks!

No. There is not way to prevent any photo on a web site to not be copied. At the least a visitor can make a screenshot of it.
To make it more difficult for someone to use one of your photos as if it were one of their own put a watermark on the photos. It's not foolproof but will discourage the less sophisticated users from using them.
There are many watermarking applications that can add them in batches. Go to MacUpDate.com and search for "watermark" to find possible candidates.

  • No advanced option on photo downloader screen.

Photoshop 8.  When importing pictures, the photo downloader screen is missing the "Advanced" button that is supposed to be in the lower left hand corner.  As a test, we installed the same software on another computer and there, the downloader display page was fine.  What causes an option button to just not show up?  Thoughts?

Do you mean Photoshop Elements 8?

  • No Advanced Dialogue Option in Stnadard Photo Downloader

In my old Photoshop Elements 6, I could go to File --- Get Photos----Camera Card Reader and it would access my card reader and show me all the files on it so I could choose which ones I wished to download.  This was done by clicking on an Advanced Dialogue link.  Now I have PSE 8.  The Help Section tells me to go to the standard photo downloader dialogue box and click on the advanced dialogue option to be able to do this.  However, my standard dialogue box doesn't have anyplace to click for "advanced dialogue"  Help!  I want to be able to view which pictures to download like I did in Elements 6.  Any thoughts?

Right,  that's the symptom -- the Advanced Dialog button is missing.
I am  running Windows 7 and it tells me that I am at 100% and with a 9
point Segoe  UI at 96 pixels
per inch.  It won't let me change to less  than 100%.
OK, so the first FAQ doesn't apply -- you're already running a  Windows
text size of 100%.  But what about the second FAQ, running on a  short  display:

  • How to remove "Download" option on my photos?

I have developed my photography web site in iWeb 08. When you click on a photo to enlarge it, there are three options above the enlarged photo: Back to Album, Slideshow or Download. I do not want to allow downloading. How can I remove this option?

Thanks again, but I still haven't found the right setting.
As you suggested, I checked the box "Display Comment Indicator" and re-published my web page. The Download option is still there when images are clicked and enlarged.
Previously, I had both the "Allow Comments" and "Display Comment Indicator" unchecked.
    It must be somewhere else.

  • Photos 1200px without Download option, is it possible?

Hi everybody, I'm ready to publish my Photo Website made with iWeb, everithing works fine except for one thing:
I load 1200px image on my Photos Pages but iWeb automatically reduces their size to 800px unless I allow user to download my photos selecting in the inspector panel Download Dimension to "Original size".
But I don't want the download button to appear... If I select None in the inspector, the button disappears but photos are reduced to 800px.
How can I maintain 1200px format photos and disable download option?

You may have to use an alternative photo/slideshow that will let you define the image size and not allow downloading except for screenshots (which can be done with any photo that's online).
Jalbum has over 100 themes/skins which you can choose from for presentation. This demo page has a Jalbum slideshow that allows you to choose between several themes: Jalbum Examples.
The downside with Jalbum is that it uses flash which excludes some mobile devices from viewing.

  • How do I get rid of 'download' option when someone clicks on a photo on my website?

I mad my website in iWeb. How do I get rid of the 'download' option I see on the page. It appears when I click on a photo. If I click on 'slideshow' it is not there. I  have my photos in folders on my website. Hope someone can help!

You don't republish any site as 'Ethmoid'.  There is no term here that you need to be familiar with!
Did you read Old Toad's post properly?  If not then go back and read what he actually wrote, which was - "Once you republish the site as Ethmoid mentioned".  Spot your mistake?
Just re-publish your site as you normally would and then clear your browser cache.

  • Photo Downloader Behaviour Options

    Hi.
In the Bridge prefs (General), there is Behaviour > When a Camera is Connected, Launch Adobe Photo Downloader. Unfortunately, I have to keep this unchecked because ANY device with pics on it will toggle this Behaviour. Adobe, could you please create checks for Camera, iPad, iPhone, etc?
    Cheers. Rudy

    Hi Gerald
Not making much progress on here. But, I've had some success offline. I'm using Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Design Premium whereas a friend of mine is using Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended. I had a look at his program earlier today and it seems that he has those missing options in the Bridge Photo Downloader. As far as I can see, we're running exactly the same versions of Bridge - so could it be that these options are disabled in the Creative Suite (or at least in the Design Premium edition)? I have no idea why this would be the case, but it seems the best answer so far.

  • No advanced option in photo downloader

? Why does my Photo Downloader not have an advanced option as in the training videos?

    Hi Tom,
After doing a little more hunting around, I have found that the advanced dialog has grown a little and is now 854 pixels deep.
That is quite close to your screen depth of 900. As a test, is it possible to change to a high resolution?
I'm not sure whether it will make any difference but do you have the taskbar set to autohide?
The DPI setting I referred to in my last post can be found in the Personalization option as Adjust font size (DPI). See if setting that to 96DPI helps.
