Avoid using folders in Edge Animate when creating a banner

Hi there,
I have a problem. I have made a banner in Edge Animate that I wan't to send to a newspaper for them to put on their site with them as the host. (Don't think my little private site would be prepared for that kind of traffic if they took it in via iFrame or some other solution with me as the host)

I make a zip file with the files from my Edge Animate project. In this case this is what is included:

They tell me that they can't really use this, which doesn't come as a surprize. But I have no idea how to get the banner to them in a manner they can use, and this is the reason for me writing here looking for help.
The said that I could try putting all the files in the same folder and sending it again, but that, I have no idea how to do. If I drag out the images from the 'images' folder and in the the main folder it's not visible to me in edge, like when dragging a file in to the 'images' folder and it pops up immediately under 'Assets -> Images' in Edge.
Can anyone help me out with getting this banner online on their site.

Having problems using DPS and Edge Animate for iPad Air

Hi, I recently just puchased a iPad air, wanting to explore and learn how to use DPS. I've been trying to import a OAM file from edge to indesign cc.
When i do place the file, and run a preview, as soon as i click on the preview, it breaks. The preview zooms into one section of the design.
I've designed the Edge animate file as 2048x1536 hoping to optimize for the retina display. Does my INDD file have to be 2048x1536? Or only my folio. If anyone can help me with this, it'll be a life saver. Thanks. Screen shots included as examples.

I would not test this using the "Preview" method as I have found the desktop app to be unreliable. You're better off to publish the folio privately and use the Adobe Content Viewer app to view the content on the device. If this doesn't help please provide screen shots of the settings you are using in the folio overlay panel to help the community better understand the issue.
Also just as an FYI if you intend to move forward with DPS and are publishing work to the app store, 2048x1536 folios are not recommended:
"Create only 2048x1536 folios. This approach is not recommended. In multi-issue viewers, 2048x1536 folios appear only on the HD iPad. In single-issue viewers, the content is noticeably rasterized and performance problems can occur." -

How can I maintain the font used in Adobe Edge Animate for Adobe Muse website?

I used a png file which is working perfect and then used the font Montez in Edge Animate for 2 titles, however once I published the file(live) to muse it a totally different font. Is there something in particular I need to do in Animate to avoid alteration of font. Help!

I want to use more than one transition in IDVD when creating a slideshow, is this possible?

Not so. Under Windows select Photos.
That will show the Media Browser in the lower right hand corner of iMovie.
Use the File ➙ New Project to create a new project. Select the photos from iPhoto you want to create a movie from and drag into the new project area.
From there add your transitions, music, etc.

I live in Australia, should I use PAL or NTSC settings when creating my DVD?

I am new to creating DVDs and I am not sure what settings will give me the best quality when I burn it to DVD. I live in Australia, should I use PAL or NTSC settings? Any other hints?

My best Guess is - PAL
Does Your electicity current use 50Hz or 60Hz
Sweden 240V 50Hz - TV - 25 frames per sec = PAL
USA 110V 60Hz - TV - 29,97 fps = NTSC
AND
Then it comes to HOW the Video was recorded - AS iDVD does not convert in a very good way. I use JES_Deinterlacer to do this when I need to send a DVD to USA. and it's free on Internet and even very expencive converters doesn't do it any better.

Use a Custom Page Layout When Creating [[new pages]] in Enterprise Wiki

I have followed a few different blogs and I've been able to create a custom wiki content type and create a new page layout based off of that content type. I've also set my site so that my new layout is the default page layout. This works when creating
new pages on the site but when i try to create a new wiki page --> [[new page]], I'm still getting the typical blank wiki template. How on earth do i get my page layout to sync with creating a new wiki page?

For your issue, go to Site Actions > Site Settings > Page layouts and site templates (Under Look and Feel).
Pages in this site can only use the following layouts: add custom wiki template.
Select default page layout: choose custom wiki template.

Using an External Hard Drive when creating Movies

I am trying to ask iMovie09 to store the projects I am creating on an external Hard Drive. I have a hard drive that I was using with my G^ and iMovie06HD without any problem.
I don't see anything in IM09 that will give you the option of where to store the movies. I have a huge backlog of film to edit and I don't fancy killing my new hard drive.
I read somewhere that a drive has to be specially formatted for a Mac. I bought the WD drive at the Apple Store and have been using it with IM06 so figure it should be ok... however when I see it in IM09 in the left hand Event Library column it has a yellow triangle sign on it and I cannot view its contents.
Any clues?

If you right click on your drive in the Finder, click GET INFO and check how it is formatted.
For a drive to work in iMovie 09 it must be formatted Mac OS Extended (journaled.)
For a properly formatted drive, you can move Events to it from within iMovie by Command-Drag.
For new stuff from camcorder, you can select the destination on the import screen.
For footage on disk that you want to bring into iMovie, click File/Import.
If you have a lot of these, you can create a folder at the top level of your external drive called iMovie Events. Then create subfolders inside this folder. The subfolder names will be the Event names in iMovie. Drag the footage into these subfolders. The next time you open iMovie, it will create thumbnails for all of these. (This is the same thing that happens when you do File/Import, but it enables you to do more than one at a time.)

A basic question about font use when creating a banner ad in PS

I am creating my first ever web ad in PS (Mac, CS4). When finished, I'll Save for Web as a JPEG. The design is basically just some text superimposed over a photo. Am I free to use whatever font I choose? Or do I have to use one of the "web safe" fonts that (almost) everyone has installed?

the way u are creating it everything is rasterized... ie even the "text" is an image... so yes u can use what ever font u like...

SSIS script task using visual c# 2012 language when creating package in Visual Studio 2013

Is it right or my installation was all wrong.
When I am trying to use a script task in an SSIS package using Visual Studio 2013, the available languages are visual c# and VB 2012.
I was expecting to find visual c# and VB 2013 since I was using Visual Studio 2013.
I already installed the "Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013" available for sql 2014

According to your description, the ScriptLanguage property of C# script tasks show "Microsoft Visual C# 2012” in SSDT-BI for VS 2013.
After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it in SSDT-BI for VS 2013. And I find that the ScriptLanguage property of C# script tasks show "Microsoft Visual C# 2010” in SSDT, and show "Microsoft Visual C# 2012” in SSDT for SSDT –
BI for VS2012. It only appear in SSDT-BI for VS 2013.
The issue is by design. But we can check "Do not show this again." to ignore the dialog and the task can be executed without any problem.

Using DAG name as msExchServerName when creating mailboxes

We have 3 different exchange servers behind DAG. mailboxes are mounted into only 2 among 3 of the exchange servers.
Mb1 - server1, 2
Mb2 - server 2,3
We are using microsoft's forefront identity manager for exchange provisioning and msexchServerName is one of the mandatory attributes to create mailboxes through it - because it runs update-recipient. I am wondering if I can use DAG server name in place
of msExchServername in creating mailboxes? Would it cause any problem is DAG name is used instead of actual server name

Is it possible (or feasible) to create an entire website full of animations using Edge Animate?

Back when Adobe Edge preview first came out I tried making this site:
http://www.bluekanji.net based on a friends request to have everything animate, with sound effects, music, etc. It didn't turn out too well and the coding is a mess because of my lack of coding knowledge and trying to jam stuff in there when Edge didn't allow it at the time.
I'm currently recreating the site from scratch, but hoping to make it all one cohesive page, instead of every animation having to be on a new page.
My main issue now is that when I have any animation play the next one will overlap and block one another and it becomes a pretty big mess. So my question is is it possible to do a full site full of animations with Edge Animate (and/or with Edge Reflow)? Or is it better to try something else?

Advice on using Edge Animate & Interactive SVG to create an interactive map

Hello folks, I'm hoping for some guidance on a complicated graphic. My org. has an existing interactive map which was created by a freelancer for us using Ruby and js. It's very nice but I wanted to see if it's possible to recreate using Edge Animate (both as a challenge to myself and as a way of being able to move ownership of it in-house). Here's the map:

I have done a fair amount of work in Edge Animate but have mostly stuck with simple interactivity (play, repeat, navigation links, etc.) so this would be a stretch. But I'm thinking that the map itself (with various shadings) could be recreated using Edge Commons' Interactive SVG function. I would create the map in Illustrator as an svg with different layers for each group of states, which would then be activated by the buttons in Edge Animate. (The floating box could be done entirely in Animate.)
So my questions are,
- Does this seem doable, and has anyone done something similar?
- How do I trigger the layer visibility toggle from Edge? There's a tutorial from Edge Commons which changes the color of an object by CSS, but it seems like it would be simpler to use layer visibility.
- Some of the combinations of checkboxes result in States that are in multiple groups (resulting in a striped fill). I'm guessing I'd need to add some code to indicate that if buttons X and Y were both checked, a third combined layer would be shown. (A further complication is that each of the groups of buttons shuts off the other groups.)
Alternately, it seems like I could also create each state as a series of differently-colored graphics which are then shown or hidden based on which buttons are checked (using arrays, maybe?), but that seems a messier due to the million separate images.
Anyway, how would you approach this problem, I guess is my main question.

This looks pretty simple to me and I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it in edge animate.
Create each state as a button and animate the hover effects inside a symbol and then on the main timeline animate the content boxes opacity to on and off and set labels for each "on" state and then in your button link to that label in the mouse over actions preset.u
As far as calling the bottom content into the div i would just do that by hand by grabbing a simple script off the internet. *theres loads*
