Avoiding Resource Reserved Error -50103 when using Independent Outputs
Hi all,
I'm currently working on a VI for performing Auger spectroscopy. Part of the program acts as a lock-in amplifier for focusing on the the amplitude of an input waveform at a specified reference frequency and another part should act as a kind of sweep generator. In the main execution loop of the program, I first want to set the sweep control, wait for an appropriate amount of "settling time," and then read the input waveform and perform the lock-in analysis. At the beginning of each loop iteration, the sweep control should be incremented by a small amount. I was able to complete a VI which performed all of these tasks successfully (with the help of a few topics I found here on the forums).
Up to that point, I had been using an external function generator to create the reference waveform, which would be read in to the program so that its frequency could be measured for the lock-in section of the VI. In an effort to conserve ADC resources for the primary input channel, I decided to try generating the reference with the second DAC on the NI PCI-6221 that I'm using. After creating a second output task to which I assigned the other physical output channel, I set up a waveform buffer for generating the desired sine wave, and then I promptly started running into these pesky resource errors. I understand now that setting up the outputs in this manner will not work since the first output task created will dominate all of the resources of the DAQ; the best solution to the problem I came across on the forums was to come up with a scheme of condensing the two outputs into a single task.
The trouble with this approach is that my two outputs have very different requirements. There is the reference signal, which should be written continuously for the duration of the VI's operation (i.e. as soon as the user specifies a frequency, this output should begin acting just like a function generator). And then there is the sweep control, which should be re-written for every execution of the main loop with gradually increasing DC values.
Is there any way that I can configure the output task so that I can treat these two channels as if they were independent? At this point, it is starting to seem like my best bet might be keeping the reference signal as an external input, even though this would mean sacrificing a great deal of my ADC capabilities.
-Jules
P.S. - I am not including a copy of my VI since the block diagram is cluttered with the input methods (which work just fine). My problem can essentially be reduced to that of generating a DC signal that increments with each iteration of a loop while simultaneously generating an unbroken sine wave.
Let the analog generation rate and the number of samples per generation set your loop timing. Don't add any additional wait functions. Doing so will goof up your analog generation.
The way the code in the picture is set up, the loop will iterate every second. This is because I set the clock sample rate to 1kHz, and set the waveform generation number of samples to 1000. It takes 1 second to generate 1000 samples, therefore that's the amount of time it will take the loop to execute. Because the generation is performed in hardware, the analog generation is still continuous.
If you want your loop to take longer to execute, adjust those numbers. For instance, when you generate your waveform, if you set the number of samples to 2000 and leave everything else the same, the loop will take 2 seconds to execute. If you were to set the number of samples to 500 and leave everything else the same, the loop would iterate every 0.5 seconds.
Does that make sense?
Also, be more specific than "the program stops working right". That tells me absolutely nothing. What, specifically, no longer works correctly?
I've attached an example, which is basically the same thing I showed earlier, except that I've added some code that calculates the loop iteration time, so you can see for yourself how changing the number of samples in your waveform affects your loop speed.
One other thing to keep in mind that's very important: if you have other code in your loop which takes longer to run than your analog generation, you are going to run into problems with your analog generation. The loop won't iterate until everything inside it has finished executing. If your analog generation takes 1 second, but you have another subVI which takes 2 seconds to execute, your loop will take 2 seconds to execute, leading to analog generation buffering errors.
You only want a single timing source in your loop. When you're doing hardware-timed analog generation or acquisition, that should be your timing source. Does that make sense? From your original description, it sounds like you might want to consider a different architecture, something more like a producer/consumer. If your analog generation needs to be continuous, you probably want it in a separate loop. You can use queues and notifiers to communicate between loops.

Error message when using search
why do i keep getting an error message when using the "search" tabe in iTunes. This happend whe i upgraded t the latest version of itunes.
Well, I believe JHeadstart does not really have this functionality.
One way is use a Query Operator 'startsWith', but then you always query like LIKE '<entered search value>%'
This is probably not what you want...
But you could hack it into advancedSearch in YourApplicationModuleImpl
try {
if (viewCriterium.getQueryValue() != null) { //This is where exception JHS-00116 is raised...
value = viewCriterium.getQueryValue().toString();
} else {
value = null;
catch (NumberFormatException ex) {
//insert check for wildcard
value = viewCriterium.getValue().toString();
if (value.indexOf('%')>=0) {
sLog.debug("Ja, een wildcard!!!");
operator = "LIKE";
} else {//original exceptionhandling code here...
...and a bit later, add test for "LIKE":
if (viewCriterium.isDate() || viewCriterium.isString() || "LIKE".equals(operator)) {
value = "'" + value + "'";
very nasty code, and does not raise an exception for searches like '%xxx'
Good luck,
HJH

Error message when using FM 'BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE'.
I'm continually getting an error message when using FM 'BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE'. The message being 'Table BAPIADTEL entry to be changed not found in target system'.
I have looked up this message but all links seem to refer to FM 'BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_CHANGE', which I'm not using, and has different parameter settings.
I'm simply trying to update the telephone number and I'm updating strcuture BAPIADTEL and BAPIADTELX but still the message appears. I know that there is a really simple reason for this, but I have been double-checking everything and experimenting with lots of different areas, but with no effect.
Has anyone encountered this problem using the specific FM ''BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE' ?.
JasonHi Jason,
In case your database tables had already value for field telephone number, then only the flag should be "U".
If the telephone number field was empty, and we will try to change it by using the flag as U, it wont work. In this case, we should be using "I".
I even wrote that before in this post, but somehow I guess the post was locked, and a lot of comments from you and me were not visible apart from the first two. So, I couldnt get any update from you.
Anyway, its good that its working for you. Thank you for the update.

Licence error message when using automation software
Error message when using Rational Functional Tester 7.0.1.1
to record a Flex application. The message seemed to come from the
Flex application.
I can record a fiew step in the application, then I have the
message : "Licence are not present. Eith the trial version only
limited record are allowed". But, my license of my Rational
Functional Tester application is activated.
I am using a Flex builder 3 trial version and the trial is
not over.
Is there any problem to get the license in the File compiler
with "D:\apps\IBM\SDP70\FunctionalTester\bin\rft.swc"? That RFT
file is supposed to be included in the flex application once
compileDoes anyone know how to build with automation support in a
linux environment?
We simply run an ant script build and have the SDK installed.
We purchased Flex Builder Professional, but cannot install on Linux
(we don't want to use the alpha version).
Thanks for any pointers :) -
Dreamweaver CC generates one of 3 error messages when using find and replace is used more than twice in succession. "While executing onLoad in bc_afterSave.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred: At line 188 of file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe|Adobe DreamweaverCC|Configuration|Shared|BC\JS\bc_sites.js": out of memory"
or
While executing runCommand in File_Save.htm, a JavaScript erroroccurred.
or
While exciting getDynamicContent inAdressURL.htm, a Javascript erroroccirred.
Any thoughts - I end up closing DWCC and reopening. Will work for two additional Find and Replace before the error messaged\s popup again.bkaufman43 wrote:
Thanks Jon. I tried all of those solutions before posting. Same problem. It seems that the problem is tied to DWCC. Do not have the problem when using DW6 on Win8.1. When running DWCC on a Win7 pc, we get the same error message. When running DW6 on Win 7, f&c works fine. It seems to be a bug in DWCC. DWCC works flawlessly on our Macs.
The same steps apply to DWCC, you just need to choose the CC folders rather than the DWCS4-6 versions that the page talks about. The layout of CC's folders hasn't changed from the older versions which is why, I think, Adobe hasn't updated the troubleshooting page as of yet.
As Nancy mentions, a 38,500 page site is sort of ridiculously large for a static website, that could be part of the problem, but your response quoted above leads me to think you may have tried the troubleshooting steps in the wrong version of the program. Could you confirm that? -
My Application gets Error 37 when using Serial Port VIs.
My Application works fine developed with LV 6.1. Then I updated to LV 7.1 and now the Executable of my application gets error 37 when using the old serial port functions. The "serpdrv" file is located in the application directory and is from 02/2002. The application runs well in the development environment after I placed the "serpdrv" file in the LabView directory. I tried to put a line with "serialDevices=..." in the .ini-file of my application but this did not cause an improvement. I also tried to rebuild the EXE with this line in the "labview.ini" file but nothing changes.
Does anybody have another idea ?
Many thanks for help
Thomas>Did you actually replace the old serial functions that come with 7.1 with the functions from 6.1?
Yes. E.g. "open serial driver.vi" uses "open device" with "serpdrv" as device string.
I had the same problem running my application as VI´s. After the copy of serpdrv into the LV 7.1 directory everything works fine.
I don´t understand why the application running as a .exe doesn´t find the serpdrv when it is in the same directory....
Nevertheless many thanks for your answer

Error 80 when using bluetooth on car radio
error 80 when using bluetooth on pioneer car radio with my iphone 4 and 5
me too...did some digging on the internet and appears Error -80 means the car deck is expecting some bluetooth protocols that your iPhones wont give out. mine was intermittent for last couple years (deck is 12 years old) as of last night i just get error -80 everytime i try to dial out or recieve a call via bluetooth. this issue was intermittent with an iPhone 3G, 4, 4S, 5 and now my current 5S. im blaming Pioneer not Apple for this
I ended up buying a new deck for my car...gets installed tomorrow. -
Error -70006 when using stepper motor in Open Loop Mode
We have a LabView program that runs a test in which a table is rotated. At the end of the test, the table is supposed to rewind. Instead, the following message appears:
Error -7006 occurred at Read Trajectory status.flx
Possible reasons: For FlexMotion, an invalid axis number or other resource ID (Vector Space, Encoder, I/O Port, and so on) was used.
We have the PCI-7344 interfaced with a UMI-7764 and a Zeta4 that is controlling a ZETA83-93 stepper motor. There is no encoder in the system for this motor. The stepper loop mode was originally set to closed loop but the motor behaved erratically (moving multiple times when instructed by MAX to move once). The stepper loop mode was changed to open loop and the m
otor started behaving properly, but that is when the error message starting appearing. Are there any other configuration settings, such as Primary Feedback (which is now set to Encoder) or ? that I may need to correct to resolve this error?First of all I would check a couple of things. The reason why your motor was not behaving properly in closed loop stepper configuration is most probably related to the fact that you don't have the encoder counts per revolution adn the stepper steps per revolution properly configured for your motor. Please follow the instructions found in the following knowledgebase:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/29edb56146f274a386256a1c00624310?OpenDocument
When you configure an axis in closed loop stepper mode, we use the information of the encoder to generate the adequate velocity profile. If the encoder counts and steps per revolution are not properly matched, then the motor will not execute the moves properly. What you need to do is the following:
1.-Configure your axis as closed loop stepper in the Axis Conifguration Section in MAX.
2.- In thbe 1-D Interactive Basic panel, kill the motor and click on reset position.
3.- Manually rotate the motor one revolution.
4.- In the advanced panel on 1-D interactive, read the Encoder Value. This is the value you should enter on the Axis Encoder Counts per Revolution under Axis Configuration. Press Apply.
5.- Go back to the 1-D interactive Basic Panel. Change the bullet selector unbder Stepper Loop Mode from Closed to Open. Run a 10000 step move.
6.- When the move is finished, read the encoder counts from the advanced panel. This will tell you how many counts you have in 10000 steps. You can now calculate the stepper steps per revolution by the following formula:
(# of steps per count)*(# counts per revolution) = # steps per revolution.
Your motor should work fine in closed loop stepper configuration now and the error should not appear. Please make sure you are using the latest version of our driver (Ni-Motion 6.0.1)to avoid older firmware errors and fixed bugs from affecting your system. You can get it from:

Error -1073807339 when using IVI (setup in MAX) to initialize instrument
I'm using LabVIEW 2014 and the most recent version of the Measurement & Automation Expert (MAX) to communicate with an Agilent 33500B series function generator with IVI drivers on a Windows 8.1 computer. (I also see this problem when trying to communicate with an Agilent oscilloscope). I've used the MAX to create an IVI logical name and tied the name to the appropriate driver session following the instructions in: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4594/en/. In LabVIEW, I have created the IVI instrument, tied it to the appropriate logical name, initialize the instrument, and then close the session. When I run this program, the Initialization block runs (resetting the parameters on the function generator) AND THEN I get the following error:
"Error -1073807339 occurred at IviFgen Initialize With Options.vi
Possible reason(s):
Primary Error: (HEX 0xBFFF0015) TImeout expired before operation completed.
Complete call chain:
IviFgen Initialize With Options.vi
IviFgen Initialize.vi
<myfilename>.vi
I read in the documentation that I should not simultaneously initialize with options in LabVIEW and in MAX, so I am using the Initialize block which still calls Initialize With Options. The same error occurs when I:
1. Uncheck all the options in MAX and run the code
2. Uncheck all the options in MAX and replace the LabVIEW Initialize block with Initialize With Options and run the code
3. Add a Wait block between the initialization and the close blocks and run the code.
However, I am able to communicate with the function generator when I use the VISA Test Panel (opened in the MAX) and send it a VISA command. I am also able to communicate with the function generator if I use the VISA I/O blocks instead of the IVI blocks in LabVIEW.
Is it really a timeout issue? If so, how do I change the timing? If not, what is going on?
Thanks.sagha wrote:
According to the MAX they are correct (IVI driver for the Agilent 33519B downloaded from the NI website). When I run the IVI Initialize block any frequency, amplitude, offset, etc. settings on the function generator are reset to the default values. So, something is being sent to the instrument.
However, I've also tried adding the General Error Handler block right after the Initializaiton block to cancel the -1073807339 error. Then, I add the IviFgen Configure Standard Waveform [STD] block to set the function generator frequency. The program throws an error that looks like a resource problem:
"Error -1074130544 occurred at IviFgen IVI Error Converter.vi
Possible reason(s):
The session handle is not valid.
Complete call chain:
IviFgen IVI Error Converter.vi
IviFgen Configure Standard Waveform [STD].vi
<myViName.vi>
What could be the reason for an invalid session handle? I've followed the NI tutorials on setting up IVI instruments in MAX and in LabVIEW.
Okay, this is new information. Nothing in your previous posts mention that the initialztion did anything at all besides return the timeout error. The invalid session handle is because you closed the session.
I'm having trouble following your descriptions.

Why do I get a OWASP Proxy Server error even when using Safari?
I first received this error when using the Mercury Browser app but switched over to Safari and still received this error. It appears to be resolved when I use wifi but not when I am using the cellular network. What could be the reason and is there a way to avoid this in the future?
It appears that you have an upstream proxy set in your APN settings. I've no iOS experience, so can't tell you how to fix this, but hopefully this will give you some place to start searching.
I suspect that you have installed some app that does traffic monitoring, See this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4458165?start=0&tstart=0
