Avoiding restoring?

My IPhone wants to restore to factory setting before it will turn back on; I have ICloud on my phone and an Itunes account but when I try to log in and save my photos before I restore it, it tells me I don't have an account for either. Help!! All my photos are of my newborn son..

If the device has been used as designed, pictures would have been regularly copied off the device to a computer.  Sorry to say, but there is no cure for a user failing to use the device as designed.
If PhotoStream is turned on, then those pictures will be streamed and synced to other iOS devices using the same Apple ID with PhotoStream enabled.  There is not a way to access those pics via the web.
Once the device is in recovery mode the only option is to restore, all data is already lost.

  • How to Avoid Restore

    I have songs on my ipod from a number of different sources so how do I avoid restoring my ipod on my computer because it asks me too.

    If the content was purchased from the iTunes store, according to Apple if you haven't backed it up...
    "It’s important to make backups of your purchases from the iTunes Store. If you lose a purchased item for any reason and haven’t backed it up, you’ll have to buy it again."
    There isn't anyway to get around having to restore the device. In the future, back up your music to an external hard drive or burn to a CD.

  • Any way to avoid Restoring phone when stuck in Recovery mode?

    I connected to my PC to update my iPhone 4. It gave me a message saying "unknown error 21 occurred--could not update iPhone." Now it is stuck in recovery mode and I don't want to erase all my phone and start again. Somebody pleeeeeeeeeease help! Why is it doing this?

    Thanks, guys, for taking the time to offer suggestions. After about 24 hours of frustration, rebooting, repeated attempts to Restore, and toggling back and forth between Run As Administrator, I was finally able to update, Restore, and I now have my phone back! I'm sure there is a simpler way to avoid these problems; maybe some day I'll learn them! Thanks

  • Is there any way to avoid restoring the beans that are in the request scop?

    Hi!
    The problem is that I don't want to have my beans reloaded by the Restore View lifecycle's fase. I CAN'T put them into the session and if I don't do so, every time I click in a commandLink or commandButton for example, the first thing the JSF does is to reconstruct the bean used in the previous view before following to the next view.
    Some properties of the beans are populated through data base access. The problem is that when I just want to go from a page to another I don't want to have this kind of bean reconstructed.
    Any ideas? I'm I doing anything wrong?
    Thank you all!

    In a valuechangelistener you can do this. I've tried it and it works well
         PhaseId phaseId = event.getPhaseId();
              //incorrect phase
              if (phaseId.equals(PhaseId.ANY_PHASE))
              event.setPhaseId(PhaseId.UPDATE_MODEL_VALUES);
              event.queue();
              // correct phase
              else if (PhaseId.UPDATE_MODEL_VALUES.equals(event.getPhaseId()))

  • Just tried updating software, through my Macbook Pro, and now i have to restore my phone, why? and how can i avoid restoring it?

    please help!

    what would you like us to do for you?  You need to restore.  No way around this.
    Since no one in their right mind wouldn't have backed up their device before doing something major like updating their iOS version, once you get your phone working again, simply restore it from the backup you made before upgrading.

  • HT4623 How to avoid "restoring" iPAD after attempt to update to latest version of iOS 7?

    After I downloaded a new app to my iPad from my MacBook Pro, iTunes message asked me to update to latest version (iOS 7 already installed). Process took longer than expected and message requests to "restore the iPAD." Is there anyway not to do that?

    Are you a developer?  If so, post this question in the developer forum.  If not, why are you using a beta version of ios 7?  You need to restore your device as NEW in itunes and update the current software version.

  • HT1349 How to avoid restore and lose iphone data?

    Stuck in Nairobi and couldn't find the bandwidth to download over 700megs of 5.01 OS update...iphone was not synching completely and noticed voice memo files weren't completely backing up to laptop...so thought the upgrade was needed.  Went to dingbat reseller who put it into restore mode, and now am faced with prospect of losing all files not backed up.  Backup file on laptop has a recent date, but didn't see the missing voice memos on that day either!
    Is this the point of no return, or is there a back door to cancel the restore?  Alternative ways to pull the data off the iphone (4s) - there used to be a 'target disk mode' you could make the older iphones act as external drives...wishful thinking?

    There has never been any kind of "disk mode" in the iPhone. iPods, yes. iPhones, no.
    It's somewhat unclear where you are now as there is no "restore mode". If you're seeing the iTunes logo/USB cable on the screen, then anything on the phone is most likely gone at this point. You will have to restore from whatever backup you have. Anything between then and now is already gone.

  • How do i avoid restoring my phone?

    Please can someone suggest a method that will help me to NOT restore my phone
    I have some recent photos on there that i NEED!!!

    Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
    To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

  • Iphone 4 wont sync to itunes anymore. Itunes opens then a message comes up saying I need to restore it. I want to avoid doing this as I've noticed some of my purchases since updating itunes are missing from computer but they are on my phone.

    I have reset my phone, put the latest updates on itunes and iphone and thought it might work then, but no luck. I am trying to avoid restoring it as I dont want to loose the data I have purchased that is missing off my itunes since I updated that. I'm not sure how to contact itunes to get my data put back on my itunes on computer. All my purcahsed data from itunes still comes up on my phone as it hasnt been able to sync to the update. DOes anyone know how to contact itunes to have bought data re-put back on. It comes up in my itunes acocount with the date and purchase number but these items are missing from my itunes purcahsed items. Weird?
    I am on an imac. Is there anyway I can get around the issue of syncing again or should I just restore once I have contacted itunes about them deleting my paid for items! I feel very ripped off, its like buyoing something from target and having the manager come to your house and retrieve it! lol

  • 7.1.2 upgrade/restore error

    Ok, the update forced me to restore.  No problem.  But when chosing to restore from the cloud there were no cloud updates for this phone I have had for 14 months.  However, I know pictures have appeared in the cloud on the iPad even though not consistent.  Fine, chose a restore as new.
    My apps had to be manually selected and placed on the phone.  Pictures returned from June1st to current (July 3rd) and a few ransoms from May 2012. I can only get 202 of my 1500 photos.
    Here's red the odd part: my safari shows pages open on iPad, as well as those open on the phone before my reset.  ?! So it appears my phone is in space from before the reset, so how do I get it back?!?!  I mostly just want pictures of my son since his birth.
    (And no, I guess I haven't plugged it into iTunes at all in the last 14 months. I didn't think I had to with the cloud back up)

    It could be corrupted from the update. I'm guessing you did an OTA update?
    If you did an OTA update, I might suggest you to backup via iTunes. You can use a separate app if you want to backup only contacts called My Contacts Backup (email backup to yourself or upload to drop box). If you have to backup account passwords as well, you can tick encrypt iphone backup on Itunes. It is better if you remember all your email password then you don't need to to that. Copy photos to computer and save notes.
    After a fresh restore via iTunes, you can add everything back. To avoid more inconveniences I would avoid restoring backups from iTunes. Backups can get corrupted as well.

  • Need help restoring iTunes Library and iPhoto Library after re-install???

    some history, my 5 1/2 year old iMac started as Tiger, upgrade to Leopard and then to Snow Leopard...the latter being done after Snow Leopard came to market. Over a week ago I developed a Disk error that could not be fixed by the repair disk and everything else that Apple could come up with. The iMac at this point was pretty unresponsive. (It had been running great for years) Anyhow the decision was made to do a complete restore. Time Machine had made a backup just the previous day or two earlier plus I have close to 2 years of other SL backups. So per Apple, we did a full install of Leopard followed by a upgrade to Snow Leopard, followed by installing all the updates. We then reinstalled iWorks (with iTunes and iPhoto) and installed those updates as well. So now I had an empty itunes and iPhoto.....Now it gets confing for me! It was late at night and the Apple folks were shutting down. They simply said, Go to your last Time Machine back up date and hit restore and you will be all set. Well...what ever it restored, I can't find my music or photos. I called the next night, again it was late and we only had a short time but this person had me do a system Migration...to restore everything back to the way it was before......So now I have 100 gigs of everything I recognize from my applications to all the stuff in my User file and it would appear everthing else. The problem is....I can't find my old iPhoto library or my itunes library anywhere and I am scared to death that I have lost them despite all my Time Machine Back-ups. Worried and concerned!!! Bill

    If you need to, you should be able to selective restore things from later backups, via the "Star Wars" display. See #15 in [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum)., if you're not sure how to do that.
    I am going to watch like a hawk and if it does occur then I know I probably have some HD issues.
    Good plan. You might want to run this: [Intel-based Macs: Using Apple Hardware Test|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509]. Run the Extended tests.
    I also think I may do something like a Carbonite back-up in addition to my external HD.
    That will be excruciatingly slow. See #27 in the FAQ for some other suggestions.
