Awful Panorama / Camera Sweep Pictures

So I bought this phone with the promise of one of the best smartphone cameras on the market.
Sadly, this is not the case.
The superior auto/manual shooting is ok (nothing to rave on about), however when it comes to panorama Sony might as well not have bothered.
Has anyone else noticed how abysmally poor this function is? 5mp, blurry, badly stitched, washed out images that capture maybe one in five times having told you you moved too fast or too slow, with grey chunks (thanks to my phone for telling me this, it's as if I didn't notice it). It took my 5 minutes to finally get a picture, and it wasn't worth the wait or effort.
Sony cannot touch Apple when it comes to funtions like this. 20.7mp means nothing if you can't make it work properly.
Are there any 3rd party apps available that are any good?
Having gone from Apple to Sony, wow I am so disappointed. Anyone else's money on Xperia to go under within the next 3 years?

Yes go into apps and disable camera .Then drag the google camera app icon onto the home screen. You will lose the zoom function on the volume buttons, also the dedicated camera button can only be used for taking pictures. The volume button will also take pictures and the onscreen display button will take pictures. Hope that helps you.Any problems give me a shout

I have restored my new replacement iPhone from my latest iCloud back up. However my camera roll pictures are not displaying. Its not saying I don't have any pictures in my camera roll, it has all the spaces for them, but it just shows empty white squares? How do I get my pictures back? Thanks!

It's difficult to say whether it's stuck or not as the time to restore a backup can depend on many factors.  You'll have to decide when you think it's just not continuing.  You could try turning the phone off (hold the power button until you see the red off slider, then slide to turn off), then back on to see if that would get it going again.
When you're convinced it's just hung, you can go back to settings and tap Stop Restoring iPhone to stop the restore.  You'll then have to try restoring it again (Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup).  Be sure it's connected to your charger and wifi while it's restoring the backup.
You might also try the approach posted here by ezjules: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589.  This seems to have worked for some people who had trouble restoring their photos from an iCloud backup.

What version of camera raw do you have?  You should have at least 6.7 for PS to open Canon 5D Mark III raw images.

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.

    Guitar21,
your MacBook Pro has booted into its Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities menu, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it get to the login screen now?

  • Can PSE 12 open and process Camera Raw pictures taken with Canon GIX Mk. 2 camera?

I have bought a new Canon GI X Mk. 2 camera. I consider to update my Photoshop Elements 9 to new the newest 12 version, but I will only do that if the PSE 12 can manage Camera Raw pictures taken with my new camera. Can anyone help?

Yes, but you will have to install the Camera Raw 8.5 or later update. Go to Help > Updates to start the update process. You can verify what version of Camera Raw you have installed by going to Help (Win) or Photoshop Elements (Mac) > About Plug-in > Camera Raw.

Try using the photo-management software built in to your computer's operating system:
Mac OS X: Open Image Capture (located in the Applications folder).
Windows XP: Open the Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard by choosing Start > All Programs > Accessories.
Windows Vista: Open Windows Photo Gallery by choosing Start > All Programs.
Windows 7: Choose Start > Computer. Right-click on the logo of the device under Portable Devices (if present) and choose Import Photos.
    Additional Information
Windows 7 Ultimate N edition or KN edition may not recognize iOS devices as cameras if the Media Feature Pack is not installed. This is available from Microsoft as a download for Windows 7 N with Service Pack 1 and Windows 7 KN with Service Pack 1: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=31017ed3-166a-4c75-b 90c-a6cef9b414c4.

  • Digital Camera Basic Picture-Taking Tips

    Digital Camera Basic Picture-Taking Tips
Get to know your new camera
Read your instruction manual to familiarize yourself with your cameras features and settings.
    Protect your new camera
Use the hand/neck strap that is included with your camera to prevent it from dropping. This will also ensure that the strap will stay out of your shots.
    Setting image resolution
Set your camera on the maximum resolution. You can always lower the resolution on your computer later, but you can never raise the resolution once it is taken.
    Set to Auto
While you are learning, set your camera on AUTO mode. This automates most settings such as shutter speed and whether a flash is used, allowing you to focus only on taking pictures.
    Focusing
Before taking your picture, hold the shutter button down half-way to auto focus the camera. Once it focuses it should give some signal by either flashing or beeping, which means that the camera is ready to snap the image.
    Composing your image
Use the LCD screen (or the viewfinder with a DSLR) to frame up your image before you take it, making sure you have everything you want in your picture. The rule of thirds is a good general composition technique that usually will produce better looking images. The rule of thirds suggests placing your subject one third into your composition rather than centering your subject.
    Keeping your images sharp
To prevent blurry pictures, hold your camera with both hands and keep your elbows close to your sides. In low light situations using a tripod will help make your images much sharper. Many digital cameras also have what is called image stabilization, and I would suggest making sure this feature is turned on if your camera has this feature.
Make sure your subject is lighted properly
Keep lighting in mind since light is what is needed for a properly exposed image. Turn your flash on in low light situations.  Avoid taking pictures directly into the sun.
    Don’t run out of power
Keep extra batteries or bring your a/c adapter if you are traveling.
    More is better
Take LOTS of pictures! You aren’t wasting any film, and you can always delete images you don’t like.

Also remember to change your ISO back to 200-400 for bright sunshine shooting the day after you were in a bar taking band pics at 6400. Was wondering why the shots yesterday were blown over. Smacking myself in the back of the head for that one. Glad it was just 'fun' shooting yesterday and not paid for.
