Awm : Measure that shouldn't be aggregated by a dimension

Hey
In my awm cube I have 2 measures, one of them doesn't depend on one of the dimensions and cannot be aggregated (sum or whatever) by this dimension.
My question is :
1- is that possible to have measures on the same cube that don't depend on all the related dimensions, or maybe I have to create another cube ?
2- In the measure properties, there is a tab named 'aggregation' that I cannot modify! why is so

1. You should create another cube, with different dimensionality
2. You can only change the aggregation setting for the entire cube when using a compressed composite. If you're using 11.1.0.7, and not using compression you can set different aggregation types for measures in the same cube.

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. MPlayerX isn't itself the problem; it was downloaded from a source that packaged adware with it. Click here and follow the instructions, or if desired, run Adware Medic.

Try booting with your Shift (Safe Mode) key held down. See if that will repair the drive.
Or try running fsck.
1. Reboot/Startup holding your Command-S key down.
2. At the command line type the following and hit 'Return.'

Different aggregation for different Dimensions

is it possible to have different aggregations on different dimensions.
I have following situation:
I have a measure per client and day.
I'm interested in the maximum per month from the daily sums over clients.
In the measure properties I can only choose between Maximum and Sum in general but not per Dimensions.
To clearify what i mean here is some sample data.
* * Client A * Client B *
* 2014-11-28 * 7 * 8 * SUM() = 15
* 2014-11-29 * 6 * 8 * SUM() = 14
* 2014-11-30 * 6 * 10 * SUM() = 16 <-- monthly max
* 2014-12-01 * 7 * 8 * SUM() = 15
* 2014-12-02 * 5 * 12 * SUM() = 17 <-- monthly max
* 2014-12-03 * 6 * 9 * SUM() = 15
This data is stored in my fact table with reference to date and client dimensions.
This example data would have to be reported as:

Topics shown in Search results that shouldn't show

When I preview the compiled help file and do a search for a
word it's displaying topics that I don't want to show. These topics
are not in the TOC and are not Indexed.
I inherited our co's Tech Writer position so I'm learning
about RH by trial and error. I'm using RH7. The help files were
created in RH 5 (or earlier) but had to install RH7 on Vista.
While working on an existing RH Help file I have a few topics
that were mistakes, from me experimenting, or are the old one's
that I'm updating and changing. In either case I thought I could
leave them hidden inside just as a safety measure or to refer back
to. I assumed if they weren't put into TOC or Indexed than they
shouldn't show to the outside world. When I search on a word that's
either in the topic title or in the text those topics are listed.
Can I prevent them from showing in Search? They don't show in
TOC and they don't show in the Index. Is my only option to delete
them? I've looked all through the Topic properties and don't find a
solution.

Hi Jim. If you want to exclude topics or even parts of topics
from Search, it takes a bit more than excluding them from the TOC
and Index. Take a look at Build Tags. They are a simple way to
identify topics or content within topics to be excluded from your
build, or conversely, to be included as needed if you compile
multiple "flavors" of your Help. Build tags are used in conjunction
with a build statement you create as you generate your output. If
you can't get going from the Help info on build tags, holler
back.

I upgraded iTunes to 11.1.5 with Snow Leopard. I was told that shouldn't have taken place despite being suggested by the software update notice. At that point it wouldn't open. I then upgraded to Mavericks, but it still doesn't start despite clicking.

I had been using an old iTunes program. This was with Snow Leopard. I bought a Nano 7, but it wouldn't work with the old iTunes. I upgraded to the newest edition, but then iTunes wouldn't open. I was told by Apple that the computer shouldn't have downloaded the latest iTunes (but it did). I was told I needed to upgrade to Mavericks.
So I di. iTunes still won't open, whether from the doc or the Application file. I tried to delete it and reinstall, but the computer won't let me. So how can I get iTunes to work?

Cube with aggregation more slow that a cube without aggregation

Hi,
I have a SSAS 2012 database that I am trying to tune to give more performance.
I improve several best practices like define attribute relationships between attributes and also create aggregations (with bids helper) to try so tune the speed of the query.
But every time I compare my Cube with the old without aggregations the times are almost the same.
I run the Sql profiler and I saw that the aggregations are used but at the end a Query Subcube is always done I increase the duration of the query.
If my query can get all from the aggregation it's usual to do at the end a Query SubCube ?
In the Old Cube no aggregations are used and all information is used by the partition and query Subcube.

Hi Gomes,
If I understanding correctly, you encounter performance issue when using SQL Server Analysis Services. Since not know the structure of you SSAS database, it hard to give your the root reason that cause the performance issue. I'd suggest you enable SQL
Sever profiler to monitor the queries fired by the process, once you find some queries took a very long time to run, consider creating the smaller cube partition or optimzing the query by adding index or partition to improve the query performance.

In AWM: Measures folder has to bee one or one for each cube?

Create a new folder and select it.
Point the import export tools as the file through import of an MBOX file (that is it's file type) and see if it can import from the file. There is more than one type of MBOX file and the import tools appear to read through some issues Thunderbird can not.
The Import Export tools appear on the Tools menu (alt+T) once installed

Buffered freq/pulse measurement that can tolerate oversampling

I would like to synchronize a buffered freq or pulse measurement to a continuous AI task using the shared ai scan clock.
The problem is that there maybe times were there are slow to no pulses to measure and the DAQmx driver will throw an error
indicating that multiple samples clocks were received before any pulse measurements could be made. What I would like is to have
the sample clock default to a measurement of 0 and this value would be placed into the task buffer so that it will always be sync'd
to the other tasks.

Duplicate count prevention is a pretty interesting (and probably poorly named) property. With duplicate count prevention disabled, the sample is latched in on the rising edge of the source. If the gate is faster than the source, you could miss the samples that you might expect to read 0 (i.e. imlpicitly-timed buffered period measurement).
This isn't exactly what's happening on the X Series (Duplicate Count Prevention is always "True" for frequency measurements on X Series). The problem is that there is no sample available in the counter FIFO on the edge of the sample clock. I believe the error is thrown by the hardware and there isn't much that NI could change in the driver to correct for it, but I'll investigate a bit more just in case.
In the meantime, you might have to resort to counting edges of your external signal sampled from the AI Sample Clock. If your external signal is high frequency, this would be suitable, but I think it's probably more likely that your external signal is relatively slow so doing this would introduce a very large error. I'll think about this some more and post back if I think of a workaround.

Thermocouple measurements that after a period of time suddenly go bad

Good Afternoon,
I originally posted this on the multifunction DAQ thread but haven't gotten any response. I don't think the problem is software but...
I'm making long term temperature measurements using a PCI6040E, SCXI1001, SCXI1102 32-channel thermocouple amp and a SCXI1303 isothermal block. These are making readings using J type t'couples. My customer's problem is that the measurements will be fine for a period of time (minutes, several hours) and then suddenly some channels will start giving really bogus temperatures, i.e.: -270 DegC vs the more realistic 35 DegC. I came in the last time it was doing this and when I went down into the code to my DAQ portion the DAQmx Read vi, set as analog, temperature, J type measurement was returning those numbers for the offending channels. Some were still giving valid numbers while others were giving the weird numbers and when a Fluke meter was used to measure the output of the "bad T'couple" it too was giving valid numbers. When I stop the LabVIEW program and go into DAQmx to try and troubleshoot it, there usually seems to be no problem. If I restart the LabVIEW program there also seems to be no problem, but when there is those numbers are coming out of the lowest level of code that I have programmed (the standard DAQmx read). I'm suspecting something "electromechanical" like connectors in/on the SCXI chassis, but the fact that it goes away when software is restarted is confusing me, as well as making troubleshooting difficult.

Like I said, you have a bear of a problem.
bad values at the lowest level I can access (in the LabVIEW program the actual DAQmx read, or running test panels in MAX).
That pretty much eliminates your LabVIEW code.

What exactly do you mean by "chassis is reset"? (I'm not a SCXI expert, but I do have a SCXI-1000 chassis here). There is no reset button. It's not hooked up at the moment, so I can't tell if there's a software "reset" function.
Do you mean power Off & On ?
Do you mean a reset button (maybe the 1001 has one, I don't know).
Do you mean a software reset from LabVIEW / Max ?
I don't see how any channel could hang up at 25°C and stay, that's not likely the top or bottom end of your TC range.
Possibly some sample/hold or track/hold amplifier quits sampling, and stays holding.
It IS about room temperature, I wonder if your CJC channel is somehow being read instead?
Ground loops would not likely be the problem, unless there's something else happening when the channels fail (like a welder firing). Even then, it's not likely that a rest would fix that.
My first thought would be to disassemble the SCXI stuff, and look for the usual suspects: dirty connectors, chips not in sockets, loose screw terminals, broken wires. Sounds like hardware to me.
