AWT Scrollbar flickering on Windows

I have a problem with AWT ScrollBar. On Windows, once I touch AWT scrollbar, they flickers until I touch other components. In addition, it leaves gray colors on thumbs. I am looking for a solution. I am considering custom widgets as a last resort. I tried Swing JScrollbar, but it does not mix with AWT frames. Note that the styles of Scrollbar is also classical ones, not XP-style!
Anyone good sugestions?

I should have written as "blinking". It's a bug Sun does not want to fix. I don't understand the reason. Swing is not an option as it will bring far more problems. If I change, I will change it to SWT or VC++.

After I upgraded to yosemite my screen flickers with windows, very strange.

So, after I upgraded to Yosemite, in spurts, there are flickers of windows at random positions around the screen.
It doesn't seem to depend on what applications are running. However I'm usually running Safari, so perhaps it depends on Safari.
Let me describe what the picture below is:
I took an iPhone video of my computer screen, used VLC and slowed down the video to (really really) slow, and then took a screen snap shot during the flicker.
So, if you look at the weirdness, it is a ghost of the entire screen, but, obviously, not in the right place. These fickers can be frequent, like, "bididididi (pause) bidididid (pause)," or in frequent like, "bip (wait a very long time) bip (wait a very long time, perhaps hours)."
This never ever happened with Mountain lion.

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
    b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.             because it is three times faster than wireless.
5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.

My photoshop cs6 is flickering in windows 8

whenever i am dragging files or even editing them in photoshop it like flickers/flashes for awhile .
Does anybody know if there is a fix for this yet? or is it just mine with this problem?

Also, many people report that changing the Use Graphics Processor>Advanced Settings to Basic oftens stops the flickering in windows 8.
(Photoshop(Edit)>Preferences>Performance)
Restart photoshop after making any changes in the performance section of the preferences.

AWT Scrollbar Issue

I have made my own scrollbar by extending from java.awt.Scrollbar. See below.

As you can see, the only difference that I'd like movableScrollbar to have from a normal Scrollbar is to make it traversable (i.e. to have the ability to tab to it and then to the next component).
Here's my problem. When I tab to a movableScrollbar, I can't tab to the next component. To get to the next component, I have to move the movableScrollbar and then press Shift+Tab, which for some reason puts me 2 components backwards instead of 1, then I am able to tab past it. What the heck is happening???

If you are implementing the Interface, FocusListener, you have to do more work. But if you extend a SuperClass of FocusAdapter you can control the focus the way you are attempting by overriding the methods that you want.
Another way is to implement ActionListener and FocusListener. Listen for the Tab and Shift-Tab. When you see the keyboard event, check to see what Component has the focus, better yet check only the Components before and after the scroll bar.

movableScrollBar.requestFocus()
Do the same thing for each of the Components before and after the Scroll Bar. Do it for the ScrollBar as well controlling where it goes.
Now to manipulate specific focus events like above, you will have to implement the FocusListener() Interface. I hope this helps.

Screen flickering in windows 8 and 8.1

Recently I've started to have this problem in both windows 8 and 8.1, where the screen flickers and lines and other oddities dance across the screen. It seems to happen much more in windows 8.1 than in windows 8, but it does still happen in windows 8. It seems to have started when I upgraded the OS X side of my laptop to Mavericks. The odd thing is that it doesn't exhibit the problem on the main display or a newly attached external display when at all when I plug the computer into an external display with hdmi. This makes me think that it might be some sort of a driver issue, but I am not really sure. Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums. If each driver is the same file name and same date but have different file sizes. What you will want to do is to download each one and save it to an external memory device.
Once you have the drivers downloaded boot your system into safe mode.
Windows 8 Safe Mode
Now in safe mode uninstall the driver for your video.
When the driver is removed boot back into windows normally and install the driver.
Try all three drivers. If all have the same issue you will need to do a repair. For that you will need to contact HP phone support.

T61 screen flickers on Windows XP

I've just downgraded from Windows Vista and what is really disturbing is flickering screen (It's like low refresh rate on CRT). Me eyes hurts... I've installed the driver provided by Lenovo for nVidia Quadro NVS 140M card. I also tried the newest from nvidia site with modified .inf file. The same.
It looks like transparent moving pattern (chessboard) when I take a closer look. My screen is 1440x900 14,1" . There was no such trouble on Linux or Windows Vista ( if I remember correctly ). However. I double checked on my Linux system, there is no such flickering. The most visible is with blue background.On Windows refresh rate is set to 60Hz and there are no other options.

I installed much older driver ( Lenovo 6.14.11.5666 ) and IT DOES WORKS properly. No flickering or smudging.
I think something is wrong with the current Lenovo drivers (and the nVidia) about pixel refresh timings on my 1440x900 display, so the refresh rate is screw up.
TO LENOVO MAINTAINERS :
The drivers need a fix for 1440x900 display and nVidia Quadro NVS 140M on WindowsXP !!! !!!
Is anybody from staff or should I write a few words directly ?

Horizontal scrollbar in safari window

After the Yosemite upgrade it is very difficult to scroll horizontally across a webpage in Safari. Usually I have my Safari window seized to fill half my screen (Mac air 13") when writing in another window When I manipulate the size of the window from the bottom corner, a thin gray scrollbar appears, but only for a moment. Because of some motor control problems in my hands, this bar is too thin and disappears too fast for me to easily manipulate it.
Is there a way to make the scroll bar stay longer or is there some keyboard workaround for this function?

I see that you have some questions about scrolling in OS X. You should be able to use two fingers to scroll horizontally on your trackpad, as described in the article below. It is possible that horizontal scrolling is turned off, but that setting can be adjusted by visiting the trackpad page in System Preferences, as described in this link as well:

Screen flickers in Windows 7 on Mid-2009 MacBook Pro but not MacOS...

Hey everyone...
My two week old MBP is running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit using Boot Camp 3.1 and the screen with occasionally flicker to black and back. Sometimes, it'll stay black until I tap the laptop. I can even make it flicker by tapping right above the Play/Pause/F8 key. However, everything is perfect in MacOS. I'm thinking there's a software issue with the Sudden Motion Sensor but I'm really not sure. Anyone know how to disable it? Any other ideas?

Actually, I've just noticed that it also flickers if I tap the right spot during the BIOS bootup (gray screen when laptop first turns on). Disabling the SMS in MacOS didn't make a difference, so I'm going to assume it's hardware and get that logic board that's troubling everyone else replaced...

Scrollbar trouble in windows 8.1

I just updated to windows 8.1 and now my scrollbar only works if I click and drag it up or down.did not have this problem before and can not seem to get a straight answer from windows help or Microsoft?

Do you mean this scroll bar in Windows 8.1?
So, as my understanding, you cannot use Up and Down arrow to control this scroll bar, right?
I would like to confirm if this issue occur to all Explorer, such as Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
If all explores have same issue, I suggest you test if this issue occur in Safe Mode.
If problem persists in Safe Mode, test with another keyboard.

Screen Flickers in Windows (Bootcamp)

Hello there !
First of all, sorry for my english, i'm from Romania.
I need your help :
I have a 2008 Aluminiu Macbook - not PRO - 2.4Ghz, 4GB DDR3, Nvidia GeForce 9400m
I recently installed Windows Vista to play some games but after 10 minutes o playing my screen starts to flicker for no reason.
This happens in CoD MW 2, Team Fortress 2 and NFS Most Wanted.
My first though was that Vista was the problem so i'ved installed Windows 7 but this didn't solve the problem. Even in W7 my screen flickers.
When I play games i putt my Macbook on the desk to not overheat so i don't think the heat may be the reason but you never know.
What's you opinion ? Please help me with some advice. I'm 17 and i'ved just changed the battery and HDD in this Mac, i can't really afford a new one. They are really expensive in Romania.

Internet Explorer 11 constantly causes screen flickering with Windows 8.1

My screen is constantly flickering and sometimes tabs go blank (white) for no reason while using IE11 with Windows 8.1. This does not happen with other browsers. My resolution and refresh rate for my monitor are both set to recommended settings

2.The “Enhanced protected mode”.
3.The “Accelerated graphic”.
Solutions
First of all ,you can open the Action center\Troubleshooting\ Programs to use the troubleshooting tool to check whether it can detect something or give us any useful diagnostic reports .
Run “iexplore.exe –extoff “ to open the IE with all
the “Add-ons” disabled ,if this problem disappears ,the problem may be caused by the “Add-ons” ,you can open “Manage Add-ons” in the IE tools to enable the add-ons one by one to check which add-on contributes to this problem.
Open the “Internet options”, choose the “Security” tab , disable the “Enable Protected Mode” ,restart the IE to check whether it works.

Cursor Flickering in Windows 10

Hi,After upgrading to windows 10, my cursor loading keeps flickering. Also sometimes when using apps like skype for video chat the screen keeps flickering. I have tried everything, no problems detected anywhere. No viruses in the scan were detected.I would really appreciate it if someone helped me out here. Thanks

This happened to me today, and I finally managed to make it stop. For me it was the HP SimplePass; not sure if it's not compatible with 10 or if it was just malfunctioning. I couldn't end it from Task Manager because it would just restart itself. Eventually, I just went into the HP SimplePass program folder, hit ctrl+a, and delete. Some of the files couldn't be deleted since they were running, but as soon as I did this, my cursor stopped blinking...maybe not the most tech savvy way of dealing with it, but it worked.

No need to create scrollbar inside the table fro popup or any element It will introduce whenever it required.
Just set the number of rows for table 5 ,10 etc Once data from BAPI/RFC will more than this number scroller
will comes automatically.
