AX Needing restart often

Right now I have my AX configured to join my AirPort Extreme Base Station's wireless network (not extended, cause for some reason it just doesn't work) so I can have my Mac Pro connect to the internet via ethernet to my AX. It seems quite often when I restart my Mac Pro, the AX looses connection via ethernet and needs to be restarted. Is this a common problem? or a bug? I just want to know if I have a defective product and whether or not it needs to be replaced.

I am surprised this configuration even works.
Normally, if you set the AX to join a wireless network, the AX is put into client only mode, and the ethernet port is disabled (I've tried several times already). I don't get how you can get ethernet to function out of the AX! Are you sure the Mac Pro is not connected via Airport? Did you disable the Airport on your Mac Pro?
My Mac Pro does not have an AirPort Card. In the AirPort Utility when selecting my AX, I clicked on Manual Setup. In the Wireless Tab there's a pulldown for several Wireless Modes. With 'Join a wireless network' selected. You can select your current wireless network and underneath that is a check box to 'Allow Ethernet clients'. Preferably I would like to have it setup to Extend my current wireless network, but I loose internet when I do.

    How can I avoid the need to OFTEN refresh or recover HP 2000 notebook? Windows 8.0.

    I found your support page by searching E0M18UA#ABA (as opposed to EOM18UA#ABA) which I assume was a simple typo. To answer your original question, the answer is to identify and isolate the cause of the errors and issues you are experiencing. Once you identify each issue, you can find what it takes to get beyond them without having to refresh or recover so frequently.
    You can only troubleshoot and identify the issues that are currently happening. If you are getting freezing right now, first take a look at this document specific to the freezing to narrow down the cause: Computer Locks Up or Freezes (Windows 8)
    A link to this document is contained in the previous one, but it is worth pointing out that this might be valuable to test for hardware failures: Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8)
    Another valuable tool when trying to identify the source of the problems, is to perform a clean boot after having one of the issues and trying to recreate it. This shows how to  remove  startup items. A good strategy is to disable half of the available items first, then restart and try to recreate the issue. If you cannot recreate it then perhaps there is a problematic startup item. If you can recreate it then disable half more, and repeat a few times until you empty the startup items.: How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    I hope this helps, and by no means is this a recipe to fix your current issues, but a few strategies to help you better identify the issues.

    The remote app requires both to be on the same network and home sharing to be enabled, you will need the physical remote to set this up. You can purchase a replacement through Apple.

    A Safe Mode boot might help ..
    Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
    A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.
    Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple () menu.

  • Do SameSubnetDelay or SameSubnetThreshold setting need restart windows failover cluster ?

    Hi ,
    I set SameSubnetDelay=2000 and SameSubnetThreshold = 10,but after a failover, when i check the cluster log, we still found SameSubnetDelay and SameSubnetThreshold  use default setting.
    So i want to konw do these settings need restart windows failover cluster core resource group to take effect?
    Our windows version: Windows 2008 R2 SP1
    Many thanks.

    Thanks for your reply.
    After set up new values for these two settings , i checked the values use "cluster /prop " command, it indeed show new values.
    But after a sql server cluster instance failover, i checked the cluster log to find the cause of failover ,in the cluster log it showed default values for these settings. There were two times like this.
    I will keep watching this, and next time i will post the setting values and cluster log.

    Does Arch have any tool to check what services needs restart after software update just like `checkrestart` from Debian flavoured distros or `needs-restarting` from Red Hat ones?

    Maybe there is some other temporary file that is not a library but deleted that slips through. I got my awk version now to replace my old hack code.
    __pids="$(sudo lsof -F pfn |
    awk '
    /^n/{
    # if this file is a deleted library or binary, show it
    if (del == 1 && match($0, "bin|lib")) {
    print pid;
    del=0;
    del = 0;
    /^fDEL$/{
    # the next file is deleted
    del = 1;
    /^p/{
    # we check a new process
    del = 0
    pid = substr($0, 2)
    }' |
    sort -un |
    paste -sd ' '
    )" && [ -n "$__pids" ] && ps -p "$__pids" && unset __pids || unset __pids
    Edit: Reorder logic, don't execute ps if no processes are found.

  • 5610 Xpress music: restarting often while speaking

    Could you please let me know, how to overcome this problem: I am having Nokia 5610 Xpress music - it is getting restart often while speaking(two times per day). I brought this mobile 5 months back. I faced the same problem right from the first day. After one months software has been reinstalled even though that problem continues.
    Any body help me to resolve this problem! I have checked it out with my friends who are having the same model(5610 Xpress music). They are facing the same problem, among five person four having the same problem.

    Causes:
    - Navi-key and camera button gets unnoticeably stuck causing it to be flooded with commands pointing to the music player and camera leading to a force system restart.
    -One of your music files got corrupted
    -Possible phone software corruption
    -Mixing different music formats is not recommended as of the moment(on xpressmusic players only) - meaning putting files with MP3, eAAC, WMA files on one memory card could cause mixup and will lead to software malfunction
    -Memory card fault
    Possible solutions:
    -Try checking the navi-key and camera button, make sure that they aren’t stuck.
    -Replace your music files if you notice some file corruption
    -Update your mobile phone’s software also known as firmware
    -As much as possible don’t mix up files with different file types - this would also help the phone to save a much CPU power. Just stick to one - the eAACplus.
    -Check if your memory card is faulty

    Ever since 2.4 software update, when I leave the Apple TV on overnight, and get up the next day, and go to check out my YouTube subscriptions (and sometimes, my Favorites), I just get the spinning indicator. One time I let it go for 3 hours... A restart of the Apple TV fixes the problem, but that's a pain in the behind. Anyone else notice this?

    hi
    if your browsing the net, it can become awful cluttered at times
    get yourself a good cleaner like CCleaner and clear out all temp files regularly
    also there is often no need to do a whole restart, just log off and log back on again resets lots of things
    most importantly, turn prefetch etc off on your browsing and thikn about putting vista in the bin unlesss you got loadsa money for extra RAM
    it eats it
    hope something in there helps

  • Constant power button and greyed out screen (needed restart)

    So I'll use my computer in the normal way that I would (ichat, MSWord,iTunes and maybe some other programs) and every now and again (more often than that actually) the computer screen would go dark and I would get a notification that I need to restart my computer in the way of holding down the power button.
    I've run though disk utilities and fixed whatever problems it could. I've also run the Maintanence automation from the download site.
    This is usually what will happen:
    I'll use my computer normally
    a program will quit unexpectadly
    a) annother program will quit in the same way and then the computer will crash
    b) the computer will crash
    I've had this computer for a year and this only started happening a month or so after a full reinstalation of MaxOSX (annual cleanup)
    What should I do?

    After doing more reading into my issue I figured what was going on was my Kernel was Panicking (can I use the terms like that or is it just Kernel Panic... anyway)
    so I went ahead and found the logs on it and as you can see, it's happened a few times SO... without further stalling:

  • Apple TV needs Restart for Airplay especially after resuming from Sleep Mode

    1. I always have to restart my Apple TV for Airplay when I resume it from Sleep Mode. Neither my MAC not my PC nor my iPhone/iPad can connect to Airplay if it's not retsarted. I did a complete Factory Reset of Apple TV thinking it would be the best way of troubleshooting but in vein. Any help/suggestion/tips from anybody please?
    2. Also - Does Apple TV needs internet always for Airplay? I guess that should work on the LAN even if there is no internet connectivity, Correct?
    Regards,
