  • UM Service Does Not Initially Start

    Hi, everyone!
Whenever our Exchange 2010 server is restarted, the UM service will not initially start. However, it will start when I then go to manually start it.
Based on the error logs, it seems like it may have something to do with DNS. The error mentions how 10.4.50.1 resolves to an invalid FQDN. 10.4.50.1 is the IP address to the PBX Gateway, which is the address entered into Exchange's UM Settings. No where
in the settings did I use the FQDN, which is why this error does not make sense to me.
I'm wondering if it's simply the service trying to start too soon prior to the network connection being fully established? We're running this on VMWare 5.5. Also, this PBX Gateway is across a VPN, but it's not an accessibility issue as all other traffic
to the Gateway is flowing properly.
I was hoping someone may have an idea on what to try.
It's not a huge deal because I wrote a PS Script that will check if the service is running and attempt to restart it, if it's not. This solves the issue, but it's more of a patch then a plug and I'd rather have things operating "normally."
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
    -Eric

Alright... well, we had to reboot the server and I checked when the server started back up to verify that the UM service started properly. It still did not, despite being set to Delayed Start now.
So I'm back to being unsure of what to try. I set my PS Script to run at startup and it checks every 15 minutes to ensure UM is running.
It's more of an annoyance that I'd like to not have, but again, not the end of the world.
If anyone else has any ideas, I'd be really grateful.
    Thanks!

  • System error 3 OracleDBConsoleorcl service could not be started.

Hallo!I installed Oracle 10g on my Windows XP while connected to my modem that accesses the internet via DHCP.
I installed the Microsoft Loopback Adapter to force my OEM and isqlplus to use the static IP 10.0.0.1.

  • Apple Mobile Device service could not be started. (-2146959337)

I keep getting the error "Apple Mobile Device service could not be started because an unknown error occurred (-2146959337). After I hit OK, it says "This iPod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device is not started." I have tried starting the service by going into Services, but it just tells me "Error 5: Access is denied." I have reinstalled iTunes, Quicktime, and Apple Mobile Device service multiple times, but I still get the same error. I had an iPod nano that worked fine, but now that I got an iPod touch, it gives me this issue every time I connect it.

I figured it out on my own, and it was an odd fix. I added a password to my account in users, and then made Apple Mobile Device service log in through my account, and now it works.

  • CVP 9.0 (1) - VXML Server service is not getting started

    Hi
I am installing a CVP 9.0(1) in my lab and the VXML Server service is  not getting started; It throws the below error.
From CVP Error logs, I see the following the snippets.
13: 172.16.13.147: May 29 2013 11:53:55.937 -0700: %CVP_9_0_Infrastructure-0-START: No Subsystems have been started. Have you configured your server yet? ; Make sure <CVP_HOME>\conf\propFileList.properties is loading "system" and that <CVP_HOME>\conf\system.properties lists at least one subsystem to load. [id:1033]
Could somebody please suggest on how to fix it.
    Thanks,
    Jayaprakash

It should run in Evaluation mode
Each VXML Server requires a separate license, even if the software is installed on the same machine. The
VXML server license is tied to the IP address. If you change the IP address of the server, then you must request
    for another license.
When you start VXML Server without an active license (for example, the license is missing, invalid, or
expired) it logs a message to the application server console and startup log to indicate that you need to activate
the license. However, you can still use an unlicensed installation of VXML Server with up to 30 simultaneous
sessions for evaluation purposes. To utilize more simultaneous sessions, activate a valid license of VXML
    Server.
You need to look for logs here startup error (C:\Cisco\CVP\VXMLServer\logs) and the OAMP logs

  • ADFS 2.0 service does not automatically start after reboot

    Hello,
We have two ADFS 2.0 servers in a farm.  Any time these servers reboot, the ADFS service does not automatically start, even though the service is set to auto start.  If I manually start the service it starts within 10 seconds.
The error in the logs show:
A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the AD FS 2.0 Windows Service service to connect.
The AD FS 2.0 Windows Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
But after the reboot is completed, I can manually start the service with no problems.  Again, this ONLY happens on restart.  I've searched the forums and found potential solutions for people who have consistent issues with starting ADFS every time.
    Any ideas?

UPDATE - I built a 3rd ADFS server and was unable to reproduce the problem, until...
I went in to the service properties of ADFS and saw that even though I specified a Log On As account during the ADFS wizard, it changed itself back to "Network Service".  I re-entered our ADFS service account username and password, it was
accepted, and I rebooted.  On the next reboot, the service did not start automatically (with the same errors as the other ADFS servers), but I was able to manually start it.
I then went to the original ADFS server having the problem, switched it to use "Network Service", rebooted, and the service started up properly on reboot.  I then changed it back to the named domain service account, and the issue came right
back.  There are no other errors in the System Log indicating a problem with anything else.
So my guess is that something is happening to prevent the service from starting with the named Domain account on server reboot.  But what?
