I'm trying to set up roles for some users on AX 2012 but I can't seem to hide some Modules.
Example: I give access to the User for Sale Order but Sale Order Menu Item exit in
Accounts Receivable and 'Sales and marketing Module So how to hide Sales and marketing?

LabView 2012 Security System Main vi's have error 200559

The vi's give errors of 200559 in my LabView 2012 and NI application engineer "John Staskal" told me as "Another good step
is to recreate the VI in your current version of LabVIEW so that you know the error is not caused by upgrading the VI to a newer version of LabVIEW." I did all that, but not resolved.
Their application engineer John Staskal also told me as "In addition to working to resolve the error you may want to pursue is posting on our upgrade forum and asking the community to convert the VI to a current

I did all trouble shooting steps such as highlight execution, probes, etc as what their application engineer told me and still having error of 200559 in LabView 2012.

I) Yes, I open up the front panel of the Express VI's and probe into them.
2) I use the express vi's, but if you see my attached vi's file. You will see Security System Main vi is the main vi where the program is running and where I am getting the error of 200559.
3) I also attached the word document file, so I am getting error of 200559 in probes 3, 4, and 5 using Export Key Press and Voltage vi's in this post.
4)Do you know, how to convert these my attached vi's to 2011, 2010, 2009, or LabVIEW8.5 version. May be, it fix the problem, or if you know some one to get help from or get chance to use ELVIS II board, so let me know .Your help or any one's help is appreciated.

Change SQL 2012 Security roles after installation

I installed SQL 2012 SP1 Standard edition and during the setup it asked me for the users for various service . I choose to keep them as default
After the installation i could see the services were not started, so i changed everything to Local System
Also in future i may need to change them to run under some domain service account.
What steps do i have to take to make sure approprate rights are granted to the accounts that run the SQL services. I could see Local System just had Public security role.
Can someone guide me on verifying what the security roles for accounts should be.

running them as domain account is a good thing and it does not need to part of admin group.
make sure your domain account has access backup paths/locations.
Also, make sure your account has "perform volume maintanence tasks" - to make use of INF.
Is your system 64 bit or 32 bit. if 64 bit, you are okay else you will need to enable lock pages in the memory for the service.

Quicken 2007 after 2012 security upgrade

Quicken reports that my problem with printing from quicken 2007 is due to the latest security update -- 2012-001.
quicken tech support suggests to restore system to "pre-update" OS-X 10.6.x, restoring everything other than the security update. what a pain.
Any idea on when Apple will issue a fix/patch to resolve this problem??

Security Update 2012-001 Bricks Rosetta programs
Restore method.
#1 Backup your personal data off the machine.
Backup files off the computer (not TimeMachine). If you don't have a external drive, get one and connect to the USB/Firewire port and simply drag and drop copy your User folder to the external drive, it will copy all your files. That's all you need to do at this time, disconnect all drives now to prevent mistakes.
#2 Try Restoring from a TimeMachine or option bootable clone
If you have TimeMachine drive, or a hold the option key bootable clone use that to erase and restore from.
Note: A TM restore can take a awfully long time, a clone restore takes under 2 hours in most cases.
#3 Reinstall OS X 10.6 from disk
If no TM or bootable clone then:
Get out your 10.6 install disk and make sure it's clean and polished (very soft cloth and a bit of rubbing alcohol, no scratches) If your disk is borked, you'll have to order a new one from Apple with your serial number.
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk (wired keyboard, internal optical drive), use Disk Utility to >Repair Disk and Permissions (do not format or erase!!), Quit DU and simply re-install 10.6.
Note: If Disk Repair gives a error that is not repaired, then you have to consider erasing the drive (with Zeros) and try reinstalling 10.6 fresh or replacing the drive.
Note: Simply reinstalling 10.6 version from disk (without erasing the drive) only replaces 10.6.8 with 10.6.x and bundled Apple programs, won't touch your files (backup anyway) or most programs, unless they installed a kext file into OS X itself. (only a few on average do this)
#4 Update to 10.6.8 without Security Update 2012-001
Reboot and log in, update to 10.6.8 via Software Update, but EXCLUDE THE Security Update 2012-001.
#5 Reinstall any non-working third party programs
When you reboot, make sure to reinstall any programs that require kext files installed into OS X, you'll know, they won't work when you launch them or hang for some reason.
If you get gray screen at any time when booting (possible it might occur when you reinstall old programs), hold the shift key down while booting (Safe Mode, disables kext files) and update your installed third party software so it's compatible with 10.6.8.

Note: You may see a "hack" for this issue floating around, it has had mixed results as people's software is different.
You may want to try it, but it's at your own risk. It has worked fast for some and not at all for others, hopefully over time it will work for all.
The above methods I outline are Apple approved restore methods + based upon experience here and not a quick fix, but are sure to work as Apple recommends such steps themselves.

Please maintain at least a TM drive, just hook up a new blank external drive and TM will ask you to make a backup
If your a bit more skilled, a option bootable clone is much superior than TM drive.

SCCM 2012 Security to allow users to add resource to a collection

Hi,
I need to permission IT Support staff so they are able to add computers to certain collections in SCCM 2012. I created a new Role and assigned the following permissions under "Collection"
Read, Modify, Modify Resource, delete resource, read resource, Modify Collection setting, read AMT.
Also allowed read at site level.
Users are still unable to add computers to a collection ? Any ideas why ?
I did read a previous post which said something about also having to permission users to the limiting collection but this doesnt make sense, and sounds insecure.

Here is a solution that should work for you. Perform this on a test account with only the security role you are going to change for your users in question.
Create a new collection that is a copy of your collection limiting collection mentioned above.
Set the limiting collection of this new collection to something other than the limiting collection it defaults to, which is the copied collection.
Select the collections to which you wish to grant Add Resource permissions to and set their limiting collection to this new collection.
Within your Administrative user or group properties, specify this new limiting collection and the collections you wish to allow Add Resource permissions under the "Associate assigned security roles with specific security scopes and collections - don't forget
to add your security scope.
Apply the changes and test - don't forget to restart the console of your test account.
This does a couple things - it allows the Add Resource function to the specific collections you wish for the specific Administrative user/group you wish. It does NOT allow modify on the limiting collection. And it separates the specific collections
you tag as being modifiable by the specified group.
We had the same issue in our environment - need a specific group to be able to Add Resource to a single specific collection which was being limited by the All Workstations collection. Allowing modify to the All Workstations collection allowed modifications
to any collection limited by All Workstations. So I came up with the solution above, tested against my test accounts and it works as I needed.
Hopefully this will solve your issue and give you some options going forward.

SCCM 2012- Security updates issue

We are unable to find MS13-053 bulletin ID in our SCCM 2012 meta data list while we have already selected Critical updates and Security updates in classification list for Windows 7 and Windows 8 from products list of Software update point component properties.
Please let me know if i have missed something.

Axapta 2012 R2--W2 processing question

What are the steps to making adjustments needed before processing w-2's? How do you create a prior year pay period?

So I believe that I've fixed the time issue, but it still sometimes kicks off users on this accounting server, and gpupdate doesn't work. I have 2 domain controllers, and it seems that when this server queries the secondary domain controller(which was "screwed
up", i was told by the previous IT guy who set this environment up), i get the Event ID 1030[GroupPolicy (Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy)] error and error # 4(Security-Kerberos) after the gpupdate fails.
and Vivian, i do have a problem with AD replication. i cannot replicate the secondary DC with the primary DC. i get several event id 4 codes on the secondary DC.
when i try to force a replication via AD Sites & Services > Sites... Servers > NTDS Settings of primary DC > Right-click > Replicate Now, i get the error:
"The follow error occured during the attempt to contact the Domain Controller DCPRIMARYNAME(actual domain name hidden for privacy): The target principal name is incorrect."
which is interesting, because i've seen this "target principal name is incorrect" error in several event viewer error codes in different Servers(all 2012 R2).

TFS 2012 Security, Windows Groups, To many users listed in scroll lists

Good Day to all,
I've been asked, Is it possible to remove windows groups from TFS that are not pertinent.
How does TFS obtain windows groups? We've observed that there are missing groups but there are a significant number that have nothing to do with us.
And Drop Down lists such as the Task Editor 'Assigned to:' contain hundreds of names that are not pertinent to our TFS. Is it possible to limit this list as well.

In TFS Server, there’s the BUILTIN\ Administrators group added in Team Foundation Administrators group(TFS Admin Console) by default, and this BUILTIN\Administrators contains the windows groups. Please open your Team Foundation Administrators group from
TFS Admin Console to check that, and remove it from there.
In you manually added Windows group in other TFS security places, please follow the solutions in this similar
post to find them and remove them.

HT1222 Feb,01-2012 Security Update screwed my machine

This update has totaled anything having to do with Safari, Mail starts and retrieves but I can't read mail. Anything that uses Safari browsing engine is screwed. Help

Problems here too but it's with Photoshop CS Vers 8. Did security update and *poof*. Constantly crashes when I try to save and save as.
Tried completely deleting Photoshop and all related preferences and folders in the Library. Even tried booting in safe mode. NADA, still bonks out. Looking to see if can uninstall update if that's even possible.

DirectAccess 2012 - Best way to deploy between two firewalls (NAT'd)

We are deploying DirectAccess 2012 and have a requirement that traffic from the internet (red) must be proxied through the DMZ (yellow) before touching anything on the internal network (green). I will initially only be configuring it to use IP-HTTPS (no
teredo). We have two firewalls, one on the perimeter (FW1), and one between the DMZ and internal networks (FW2).
I'm trying to determine the best way of deploying this in our environment. I've come up with two possibilities:
1. Deploy with two network cards, each connected to separate DMZs. In this scenario, NIC 1 would contain the internet facing IP in DMZ 1 (say 10.10.10.2 and NAT'd by FW1), and NIC2 would contain an internal facing IP on DMZ2 (say 10.10.11.2). NIC2 would
be routable to the internal subnets via the internal firewall.
Crude diagram: Internet -> FW1 -> 10.10.10.2---DA---10.10.11.2 -> FW2 -> Internal network
2. Deploy with one network card in the DMZ. This would be NAT'd by FW1, and then pass traffic through to to FW2. Since I'd be allowing all TCP/UDP traffic (as per MS) through FW2 to the primary network, this method seems unsafe to me.
Crude diagram: Internet -> FW1 -> 10.10.10.2---DA -> FW2 -> Internal network
What is the best and most secure way to deploy this in the DMZ? I do not want to put an internal network IP directly on the DirectAccess server, as it needs to go through FW2 before reaching internal. The DA server should be isolated in the DMZ.

The first solution is better. The DA server is under the protection of FW1, and the DA server
already offers certain security itself, such as the requirement of a Computer Certificate, domain membership (which mean domain authentication) and so on.

You should immediately update to Firefox 15, as it contains major security fixes you are currently vulnerable to.
As for your AVG, I'm not sure if the AVG Toolbar is compatible yet, however, that is only a nearly useless add-on AVG injects into Firefox. Your actual Anti-virus is running and will continue to run in the background, no matter if your Firefox add-on is working or not. So the risks are major enough that I would upgrade now, check for any AVG updates today and tomorrow, and wait for them to support Firefox 15 (which should be quick). You will be safe than you are now.

A popup stating "XP antivirus 2012" prevents Firefox from opening

I want to open Firefox but keep getting message from "XP antivirus 2012 security center"that Firefox is infected with a Trojan and has 29 other viruses. Even when I tell this "antivirus 2012" security center I want to proceed anyway without signing up for their antivirus program, they won't let me. Have you heard of this before? And finally, it is completely rediculous that I can't change the security questions without answering the current question that were apparently set by someone else and if they were set by someone else then: How could I know the answers?
Seriouly? I mean... this seems like a joke to me. How such a big company like APPLE can have such a lame system?
I want to reset my Security Questions and Answers so please Apple team just do your job how you're supposed to do it.
