Hi louisr, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!
Yes there is one. Click on the Service parts link at the bottom of the 55Y9003 page for a list of part numbers for various language versions. 55Y9014 is the French version.
Hope this helps!

Need help on IBM/Lenovo external keyboards w Trackpoint? Pic
I started my journey with Thinkpads on a T42, then T43.. then T61, X61T, R61 & T410 (bought for 2 cousins & they love it), W510 (dads new laptop). I may be a much recent convert but I swear by them now.
MAJOR ISSUE: Recently started feeling RSI (Repetitive Stress) & Carpal Tunnel symptoms (already doing stretches.. adjusted the desk.. & finding new adjustable LCD stand) since I am not using the Thinkpad directly... but using it docked with an External keyboard. Lot of Mousing as well. I'd like to go back to Thinkpad FEEL... or atleast have keyboard with a pointing device so my hands dont have to keep moving back n forth.
So, it would be great it some of my fellow T4x/T6x/X6x 'ers would guide me a bit on this... share their first hand experience, or what they've seen on these keyboards and feel free to point me to reliable sources of information.
Currently this would greatly be use with T61 - Adv Mini Dock - 30" XHD3000 LCD as shown in my signature below.
Anyone who has used or know something about one of these Thinkpad related keyboard (ideally both of these to give a comparative response).
Which of the following have you used?
    How was the experience?
(Maybe point me to thread with peoples experiences)
If you've used several, which one do you prefer / recommend? Why?
At the moment I have a "slim" BTC 6200C desktop keyboard. It has laptop like scissor keyswitches, so I like it the slim notebook like profile.
The way I have positioned my 30" LCD I'd like to be able to keep the keyboard on my lap at times while on my chair and maybe on the desk at times.

I had the same issue - had to go to voice command for a few weeks (sucked) wore wrist gards to keep things netural.
Everything went away when I changed to a USB keyboard with the Ultra nav (I use the track point and disable the pad).
I've been working like that for 6+ years now... no issues.
(as a side note, sleeping with wrist guards on helped heal me the fastest.  I had neoprine, with a metal plate in them - from a local drug store)

  • IBM USB keyboard with TrackPoint: how to adjust sensitivity

I connect the IBM USB keyboard with TrackPoint (UltraNav) to my Lenovo W510 using Windows 7. How can I adjust the sensitivity of the external TrackPoint? In control panel > mouse settings, I can only adjust settings of the onboard TrackPoint. Is this a driver issue, or I did it wrong? I tried downloading different drivers but none allows me that. Current drivers I use:
ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint v1.06 (tpusbkybdwtrackpoint_106.exe)
ThinkPad USB Keyboard Hotkeys v2.0.1.3 (q5kyb07us13.exe)
    ThinkPad UltraNav Driver v15.1.19.0 (6hgy31ww.exe (64-bit))
Actually tried newer drivers but the results are the same. Thanks for any suggestion!

after installing the required Lenovo driver explained in the post above. I get this option in my mouse setting under control panel.
Do you see this specific option? (there is new 1.07 driver released, so try to install that and see whether give you the option of adjusting the usb kb's trackpoint sensitivity).

  • ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint (55Y9003) FRU

I'm trying to order a ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint part no. 55Y9003 here in Bulgaria.
But here they are selling only the European/Bulgarian version with a slighly differerent layout and part no. 55Y9009.
I had this problem before with the old UltraNav Keyboard and the keboards for my X40, X60 and X61s. What I did then was to order the keyboards as a replacement.
So I need to find the FRU P/N to order it as a replacement. But I only know the FRU of the bulgarian version (57Y4647).
I remember it used to be easy to find it on the product page, though I may be mistaking as I can't find it now.
Please does anybody know where I can find the FRU P/N of part no. 55Y9003?
Also I don't understand why the retailer here in Bulgaria can't do that, but lets not overdo it :-)

    Hi Jochem,
I have an SK-8845 that I like a lot and I've been running driver version 1.06.  I didn't even know that 1.08 was out.  I'm not an employee, so I don't have any insight on future driver releases.  I've had some scrolling issues myself in some programs, but after I did this, I haven't had any issues.
I just installed your driver, (1.08) and everything seems to be working okay.  I haven't tested it fully yet.  I saved my old driver though, just in case.

  • Thinkpad USB Keyboard with Trackpoint

First, I want a bluetooth version for my Home Theater PC.
Second, Does anyone know if they will be updating the design to more closely match their newer keyboards.  I don't want to upgrade my x220 or my t510, because all of my keyboards match from my laptops to my desktops.
    Thanks!

there should be a bluetooth version of the latest ThinkPad keyboard coming out, the key layout will be slightly different to the Thinkpad USB keyboard with trackpoint.

  • Would love to see a USB numerical keyboard with trackpoint device.

    Hi Lenovo,
I have a new computer but miss my trackpoint terribly. Searched the web for a portable replacement but there seem to be only touchpads or trackball solutions out there. I think your numerical keyboard with a trackpoint would have been a perfect match.
    Best regards
    Magnus

Maybe you can buy two Lenovo products, one is the latest ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth or USB Keyboard with TrackPoint, another is a ThinkPad Numpad.

  • External ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint issues with scroll (55Y9003) and hotkeys on a x201

    Hello
Once more there is a glitch with the drivers for this external keyboard 55Y9003.
    I have the drivers:
16.2.19.13 for the ultranav system of the x201
    1.10 for the external keyboard
    My system is XP sp3.
The keyboard of the x201is fine relative to the one  55Y9003.
The scrolling is set to standard for both systems.
Please do not advise to select smooth; it is not a solution and the smooth scrolling has been systematically utterly unusable.
    The issues:
-the hotkeys on the external keyboards are not all working:
basically, fn+f4 and fn+nmlk work but the rest does not (say fn+f8)
-the scrolling of the external keyboard is not at all identical to the scrolling of the x201.
For instance, in pdfs viewed with foxit for instance, I have not a problem to scroll horizontally with the x201 starting with the hand tool.
WIth the external keyboard, whan I press the middle button to activate the scrolling, it remains the hand tool, I can scroll vertically but not horizontally.
FIrefox as also issues whith the middle button.
-the external keyboard still suffers from the sticky shift key.
I know the x201 and the 55Y9003 are no longer fashionable, but  Is there some directly  guy working at Lenovo who could help ?

I have the ThinkPad USB keyboard on a non-Lenovo desktop, and it works.
Yes the keyboard driver installs, but not the Lenovo System Interface Driver, for obvious reasons. All the buttons and TrackPoint work.
Yes the TrackPoint does not scroll in all programs. Search the community for "trackpoint scroll fix" and you will come up with instructions on how to fix this.

  • Scrolling and fn/ctrl issues in External Thinkpad USB Keyboard with trackpoint

    My product is 55Y9010
I find the scrolling function cannot work in several programs.
i.e. Visual Studio 2010, Windows Live Messenger, iTunes, etc.
Especially Visual Studio 2010, it really annoys me because it decreases my working efficiency.
In thinkpad notebook, I can get it work by modifying tp4table.dat.
But there's no such file in external keyboard driver.
The other annoying thing is the layout of fn/ctrl key.
Because fn key doesn't send scancode, therefore I cannot even use software to reset the layout.
I recommend to add the feature which allows user to exchange these two keys.

The linkd mentioned above is dead. Cannot Lenovo provide official support for that? There is an option in the BIOS but it does not apply to the external keyboard. Lenovo now has specific drivers for the external keyboard, but those things still do not seem to allow key swap!!
This impossible key swap is driving me mad. The same way as brandej, I cannot use this keyboard with the Ctrl not in the right place, as a coder, I hit this key every 3 seconds. So that 28800 frustrations per day, not to say a normal human can probably not handle that.

  • ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint issues with scroll (55Y9003)

    Hi Guys,
I am having issues with this  keyboard...
I ordered it to use it  on my work where I have Dell Vostro desktops.
However scroll simply doesn't work in all programs and even stops working ... I also using VM and it doesn't work at all in VMWARE even if you point inside it it still operates at host system !? Weird...
I have installed latest drivers 1.01 but nothing... So when I removed all drivers and just keep default scroll work as default but still not in all programs and not in VM Ware, etc... Just to be clear my regular mouse scroll works in all and works properly...
Is it possible that this keyboard will work only on Thinkpads used as external keyboard ?
There are two things to be installed when I start a disk one is driver and second one is some interface driver which can be only installed on Thinkpads ?! Couldn't be that that thing is missing when running on non Thinkpad systems?
Any help how to make scroll work in all programs?
    Thanks.
Moderator edit: Removed UltraNav from the title. This keyboard just has a TrackPoint.

  • USB Keyboard with trackpoint: mouse not installing...

    Hi everyone
My new external keyboard seems to install ok (and works) but the mouse (trackpoint) doesn't. Under in control panel under mouse the USB trackpoint comes up and I can play with the settings but it has no effect.
Cannot install the mouse (trackpoint), "a service installation section in this INF is invalid". When I've tried re-installing the drivers it says that it isn't compatible with XP.
    I'm running a thinkpad sl500 on XP.
I've tried the newest drivers I could find (2006) on the lenovo website.
    Can someone please help?
    Justin

I fixed it by randomly installing a different driver.

  • ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint (55Y9053) driver issue (keys not working)

    Hello!
I bought this external keyboard yesterday for my Dell desktop running windows 7 (professional)  because I liked the thinkpad keyboard in my thinkpad t400. After plugging in to my desktop and installing the drivers that came in the CD, I noticed some keys (u, o, m, enter(return), l) were not working, i.e., nothing get displayed when I press those keys . When I tried installing it on thinkpad t400 running Windows 7 professional, the same non-working keys were displaying numbers instead of alphabet values.
Please note the keyboard is not 55Y9003 but the newer version 55Y9053. Also, note the trackpoint worked well including scrolling and all other keys were working. Interestingly, when I plugged this keyboard on Ubuntu machine (desktop and laptop), everything worked well without even installing any drivers.
I initially thought it was a hardware problem and got replacement from Amazon. Both the keyboards exhibit the same problem. Given the fact it works nicely on Ubuntu, I think this is a driver issue. I tried installing drivers from thinkpad site including versions 1.6 and 1.7.
I would appreciate if someone can help with the right drivers.
    Thank you,
    Vinai

How does the keyboard compare to the one on the T400? I'm considering purchasing one for my desktop because I'm addicted to the TrackPoint.

  • Spurious Charcters on Thinkpad Compact USB Keyboard with TrackPoint

I suspect the Thinkpad W540 can not accept the current driver from the Lenovo support site (tp_compact_keyboard_1491.exe) as the version of the HID driver remains 6.17602.27514 and is a 2006 Microsoft driver). What is worse is, attempting to type on it in any normal speed for a touch typist results in bad keystroke recognition and has the window lose focus, selecting menu items, or the most annoying, selecting previously typed data that gets deleted as soon as you type the next character. It has happened 3 times just typing this note. I can't find a way to disable the driver associated with the keyboard on the Thinkpad (uninstalling it doesn't work) and I'm assuming with two drivers installed, they collide somehow causing the bad interpretation.  Or, the USB ports on the W540 aren't compabile with the keyboard.  I doubt the latter as I had problems with a Bluetooth version of the same keyboard.
Lenovo doesn't appear to recognize its own keyboard based on 03X8715 fru but sometimes finds references to KU-1255 model when searching for drivers.  I've opened 2 tickets with Lenovo but all they do is delete the drivers and reboot to get them to reinstall.  I think these keyboards are not compatible with the W540 (though sailes said they were), and until a better driver is developed they are useless.
Because the W540 rearranged the Thinkpad keyboard puttng the PrtScr at the bottom and the delete key where the insert key was... I wanted to have the same keyboard on my other computers so I could get used to the new layout. Now that seems impossible unless and until Lenovo fixes the driver so the keyboard misinterpretation can be remedied.  Is there no solution to allow me to get used to the new Thinkpad keyboard layout by using a similarly laid out external keyboard on multiple computers?  Switching between W540, W520, W510 seems impossible at this point. Though I'd like to use a KVM for switching I don't want to introduce that until I can get the external usb keyboard working with the direct connection to the W540.
It is also frustrating that the driver download only results in a setup.exe being run with no listing of the drivers that should be installed so it is impossible to tell if the 2006 Microsoft drivers are what were in the Dec 14, 2014 driver update, and it is also impossible to force Windows to pick the drivers from the install directory as they are encapsulated in the setup.exe.  At least knowing what version should be listed and the names of the driver files might help troubleshoot if indeed they correct drivers are not getting installed.

Yes, i realize it could be confusing for some to have two ways of accessing the same keys.
The issue i have with the thinkpad layout is that the keys are split apart - i like having page up/down and home/end clustered together for navigating - with the thinkpad layout, half the keys are in the lower half of the keyboard, and the other half in the top.
Also, since arrow keys are also often used for navigating, it makes sense to me to keep them together - for example, "go to the end of the line and select the last word" can be accomplished without moving the right hand from the arrow keys, and the left hand using Shift/Fn/Control
