Azure backup services and Virtual machines

If I use the Azure backup service with the Storage server 2012 r2 and backup my virtual machines, can I then use that backup and use the virtual machine service to host them if I have a disaster to my server equipment and use it until my new hardware comes
in? If so is this a hard thing to do and what would be the best practice to follow to implement this?

Help! Azure Cloud Services and Virtual Machine Web Servers Load Balancing

I have a cloud service. I have two virtual machines setup as web servers each with IIS installed. I have configured my domain registrar to point my domain name to the cloud service IP address. I also went into the endpoints of each virtual machine and verified
that I have http port 80 setup on both in a load balanced set.
I am unable to access websites on either server at this point. DNS propogation site shows "error: token mismatch"...this has been setup since yesterday and still error.
Can anyone assist me in where I went wrong? Am I confused to how the cloud service should work? I am assuming it will allow me to load balance the two virtual machines in the way I have configured above. Please help!!!!

Hi All,
I need to enable diagnostics for cloud services and virtual machine in our
cloud environment. I referred the below link.

Installed azure SDK 2.5 and cloud services instance is not displayed for cloud services in Visual studio 2013. Please provide the steps to enable at run time.

3) How to get the event log data's from REST API.

Trying to deploy a Service using Orchestrator and Virtual Machine Manager

Hello,
I'm trying to create a runbook to deploy a Service in a cloud using Orchstrator and Virtual Machine Manager, 2012 R2 both of them.

Time machine Backup of bootcamp, Virtual Machine, and VM based on Bootcamp

I have read posts that contradict each other, so...
Does Time Machine backup Bootcamp? I think the answer is no.
Does time machine backup a Parallels Virtual Machine (bootcamp or other) as expected? I believe the answer is no, any changes to the VM will cause the entire VM to be backed up. So, I think you should do an occasional back up in time machine that includes all VMs, then set in VMs to not be backed up by time machine...right?
Are there any considerations of a Parallels VM for boot camp? For example, does it mater if you do windows update from the VM or the bootcamp? I think the answer is no, you can do anything from either and get the same results.

BadRequest: Virtual machines with secondary network interfaces and virtual machines with no secondary network

I'm trying to create an "ExtraLarge" VM with multiple NICs. The New-AzureVM returns the following error:
BadRequest: Virtual machines with secondary network interfaces and virtual machines with no secondary network
interfaces are not supported in the same deployment, also a virtual machine having no secondary network interfaces
cannot be updated to have secondary network interfaces and vice-versa.
But I have no other VMs. Or at least I did and then deleted them and all their disks. The service has no deployments (either staging or production).
Why is New-AzureVM complaining about a mismatch of VMs with and without secondary network interfaces when no other VMs exist?
I have tried many things to fix this, including the deletion of ALL of my resources. I have deleted and created the service many times, both with an affinity group and without. I have a screen print of the -debug output if your interested.

I suggest you to create a new VNET and new VM with cloud services. Create Multiple NIC VM. Let us know the results.

Azure backup services for Object Storage

I'm investigating using your Object Storage services for our on-premise application. I see there are replication options for this service but I assume all the replicas are near real-time. I want to be protected from something horrible like an application
defect corrupting or deleting our BLOBs. The Azure backup service seems to be for backing up on-premise data to the cloud. The Object Storage BLOBs I want to back up will already be in the cloud. Even if I can use Azure
Backup for this, I'd like not to manage it myself. Is there a backup service I can use with the Object Storage service that allows me to have backups but not have to deal with managing/monitoring them? If so, where can I get pricing information?

Azure backup supports files and folders backup to Azure. if there are Windows VMs or machines using Object Storage services, then install Azure backup agent in the Windows machines to backup the relevant files and folders.

NAS Storage on Azure Backup Services

Hi are looking to use the new Azure Backup Services to backup our on premise data. Unfortunately, we use NAS boxes for a large amount of data and mount them as drives and these are not showing as valid backup sources on the agent software.
Can we use the Azure Backup Services to backup the NAS data or will we have to resort to using a third oarty coupled with a BLOB storage account?

I think NAS storage backup is not supported by Azure Backup.

You can use third party software to back it up as a storage blob.

Connect Cloud Service with Virtual Machine

Recently migrated my Website to one of Virtual Machine ( Windows 2008 R2 ). Migrated all my MySQl, tomccat, memcache and code.. Now if I hit localhost on Virtual Machine I can see website up and running.
But When tried to connect it from outside failed to do so.
Can someone help me to setup cloud service pointing to this virtual machine. Already setup access points etc pointing to this VM

Have you created an endpoint for HTTP? Sounds like that is what is missing...

Hello,i want to know if there is any way to install LVM (Logical Volume Management) manually and separately on Linux operating system as when i initially installed RedHat Enterprise Linux 6,i mistakenly did not select the application LVM itself.
Another issue i have not been able to fix is the Virtual Machine Manager.i have tried to connect but it keeps showing me the following error message on RedHat Enterprise Enterprise Linux 6.

Integrating a PHP Web App with an Existing Azure Mobile Services and Mobile App

I've got an existing mobile app that is integrated with Azure's mobile services. The mobile services are currently connected to Azure Active Directory with MFA enabled. I'd like to build a separate PHP-based web application (Azure VM) that uses this existing
mobile service and authentication.
I reviewed the Azure PHP SDK, but didn't see any tie-ins to the Mobile Service. Additionally, Azure has some great tutorials, but for mobile services they all seem to focus on iOS, Android, and Windows phone. Any insight into how to tie a PHP-app into this
backend would be much appreciated!

Although there isn't any client library for PHP, you can still access Mobile Service using the
Azure Mobile Service REST API.

No Longer Able to Successfully Backup Hyper-V Virtual Machines from Host Without Shutting Them Down First

Hi all,
Prior to the new year, I was able to backup my VMs (two of them) using Windows Server Backup on their host server (running Server 2012) without shutting them down, no problem. Something has obviously changed, and this no longer works.
When I try to back up my VMs now, the process basically seems to timeout during the 'Creating Shadow Copy of Volumes' phase. The error log file points to the 'Microsoft Hyper-V VSS Writer' as the culprit (Status [5]; Unexpected Error), and the specific
message I receive from WSB is: Component was skipped from volume shadow copy. The writer experienced a transient error. If the backup process is retried,
the error may not reoccur.
I've seen only a handful of useful articles online about this particular error, but nothing I've tried has worked for me yet, like:
- Making sure the integration services are installed and enabled
- Making sure Windows Server Backup is installed on both VMs
- Making sure there is enough disk space in the VM for the backup to complete
The most compelling piece of information is that this process worked just fine before the new year started and now I can't make it work at all unless I turn off my VMs and then run the backup. It just seems like there's some small thing I'm missing
(a service needs to be updated or turned off or on, etc), but I can't seem to find that information anywhere...
Any help is appreciated. Thanks...

you may want to try using our VssDiag freeware to inspect your Windows and Hyper-V logs:

All you need to do is enter the date/time when the backup failed and it will collect whatever it finds

I want to upload the image to the Azure media service asset and show the Link on the page. When use clicks on the Link I want to show it user. How can I implement this with C#? Now I am uploading the image to asset as in the normal way and getting the URL
for that. But I am not able to show it user when he click on the image link.

Azure media services has a RESTful service and a C# SDK that you can use to interact with the Azure Media Services.
