AZURE VM Shutdown unexpected with event id 6008
Today my Azure vm shutdown unexpectedly when I review the event log there is event id 6008. How I know the exact reson of shutdown
Hi,
In addition, the shutdown that you have noticed in the event log may be due to the Windows Azure platform deploying an update that required a reboot of the physical machine
to provides a reliable, efficient and secure platform for hosting your applications. This type pre-maintenance notification is provided to users who have VMs which are not running in an availability set.
You can check if you have received the notification with the Account administrators. Besides, it is recommended to add VMs into availability sets if you don’t want the VMs shutdown at the same time.
Best regards,
Susie

T400 shutdown unexpectedly with windows 7
Pls I need urgent help on this.
I have a T400. Machine Type is 7434-A43. It came with Windows XP which over the cause of use I have upgraded to Service Pack 3.
Yesterday, I did a new installation of Windows 7 Ultimate. Since then I have been having these intermittent 'shutdown' on the system. No blue screen, warning or error message shows. It just goes off like a light bulb.
I have installed all the necessary drivers, I have updated versions of both Power Manager and Power Management driver. So I dont know what the problem is. I searched the web and I discovered a host of other T400/T400s/T500 users who had the same problem after upgrading to Windows 7.
I never had this problem with windows XP. Also it seems the 'shutdown' doesn't happen on battery, only when I have an AC adapter in, battery installed or not. I have tried different Power Options to no avail. I have updated the BIOS to the latest yet to no avail.
I hope this problem has been solved by now. Pls I need urgent solution, the laptop is kind of useless right now.
As I said earlier I use a T400, Machine Type is 7434-A43.
Thanks in ADV.

thanksyou are not help us to help you , both metalink that i have been posted talking about windows environment , OTN thread talking about windows environment and seems to me in all links that i have been posted its same alertlog error . -
I need help...
I got the error or it could said crash.
In the error event log said, " the previous system at xxx time was shutdown unexpected".
It happened when I run dick cleanup and play media player, after that my laptop shutdown automatically.
My Laptop is Toshiba Satellite M500.
Is it related with my BIOS? Is the BIOS need update or there's others issue?
Help me to fix it, please!!!
Thanks.If it only crashed once, it may be nothing. I wouldn't worry about it. If it continues, can you figure out if there's something that causes it to crash? Alternatively, did you make any change to your computer right before it started happening?
Can you check the laptop's full model and part numbers from the label on the bottom? Don't include the serial number.

Hello All
We have a server 2008 R2 HyperV server and during the last few months it started to reboot randomly.
Initially we thought its related to the issue fixed by the following hotfix so we applied it but even with the hotfix it still keeps rebooting.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2732595
Unlike what's mentioned in the hotfix , the faulting module is not "ntdll.dll" but "msvcrt.dll".Also came up with the following indication the reboots could be related to KB2871997 but that update is not installed
on this system.

Windows 8.1 Event ID 6008 when shutting down normally
Hi, I have this problem starting 11 Feb, whenever i shut down my pc normally, the event ID 6008 is logged with Event ID 41
This happend everytime i shutdown... Please help. please. really need working solutions.
Thanks!Stuart
Please run a window performance recorder trace using the re-boot configuration and upload the event viewer logs
In order to diagnose your problem we need to run Windows performance toolkit the instructions for which can be found in this
wiki
If you have any questions feel free to ask
Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to Onedrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post
If you have updated to win 8.1 and you get the error message "the system cannot find the file specified" it is a known problem.
The work around is to edit the registry. If you are not comfortable doing this DONT. If you are, backup the key before you do
Press Win+"R" and input regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels. Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic"
here : http://www.mediafire.com/download/xlwdssnudbwv8j7/Error.evtx -
My computer Crashes and I get a screen with Static, computer shuts down, or I get lines across the screen.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CSeq 'n Cause: -' | tail | awk '/:/{$4=""; print}' | pbcopy
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered.
The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there. -
My imac gets shutdown unexpectedly

imac 27 inch

plz help me out if anyone has encountered a same issueBack up all data immediately as your boot drive may be failing.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator. I've tested them only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CReq 'Channel t|GPU D|I/O|n Cause: -' | tail | open -ef
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Normally the command will produce no output, and the window will be empty. If the TextEdit window (not the Terminal window) has anything in it, post it — the text, please, not a screenshot. The title of the TextEdit window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. -
Virtual machine shutdown unexpectedly - 5 times in 2 months
Hi,
is there anyone know why the virtual machine will shutdown unexpectedly?
i am running the VM on a single core Windows Server 2008 R2 - with SQL server web express.For Mac computer
1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore” -
My 27" Imac (A1312/EMC2390) keeps shutting down unexpectedly with no warning or "screen of death". So far I reset the SMC, and zapped the PRAM. I even replaced the power supply but the problem continues. My error and system logs seem unhelpful too. Can anyone help me out?
You can get a shutdown like that if the computer gets too hot. Make sure the air intakes on the bottom and the exhaust vent on the top are clean and are not blocked by something in your workspace like papers or the back of the computer being too close to part of the furniture. You need a good six inches (15cm) of clearance between the exhaust slot and other objects or surfaces.
Anti-virus/internet security software, especially the "pay for" kinds, can increase operating temps. So can third-party backup software furnished with many "name-brand" external hard drives.
Fan motors and/or temperature sensors can fail. If you have the original grey disks that shipped with your iMac, find the on that has Apple Hardware Test (AHT) and run it. If you have a failed heat sensor or fan motor, it will detect it with an error code containing "SNS" if it's a bad sensor or "MOT" if its a bad fan motor.
AHT instructions here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509

Hi,
Has anybody seen the issue below showing in the logs? The time for the logs messages switch from the real time (17:57) to some random time (10:55). There seem to be a disconnect with the time. I noticed right when the status message while logging in switches
to "apply user settings", the time get screwed up on the gpsvc.log file and switches to the random time (10:55) and keeps reporting that random time till "apply user settings" process completes and switches back to regular real time (17:57).
I made sure the server is synced up with w32tm /resync command. Tried different DNS settings. Tried dis joining and rejoining to the domain. tried to block inheritance on GPMC to that OU. Created new domain user. Deleted local profiles. All with no luck and
same behavior which is taking up to 5 min "applying user setting" only after a reboot. If I log in and out without reboot, it would log in just fine within seconds.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks,

The numbers in parenthesis are PID.TID of gpsvc.exe. So we see a thread
change, and this usually indicates that a different logon process has
begun. Could you try to map this log entries to events in the group
policy event log?
But to be honest: No, I've never seen such a behavior in gpsvc.log :(
I'm almost sure that a service is responsible, but how to identify it -
I don't know. There's no auditing for system time changes, AFAIK.

Hello all,
I have a problem with event handling. I have two buttons in my GUI application with the same name.They are instance variables of two different objects of the same class and are put together in the one GUI.And their actionlisteners are registered with the same GUI. How can I differentiate between these two buttons?
To be more eloborate here is a basic definition of my classes
class SystemPanel{
SystemPanel(FTP ftp){ app = ftp};
FTP app;
private JButton b = new JButton("ChgDir");
b.addActionListener(app);
class FTP extends JFrame implements ActionListener{
SystemPanel rem = new SystemPanel(this);
SystemPanel loc = new SystemPanel(this);
FTP(){
add(rem);
add(loc);
pack();
show();
void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt){
/*HOW WILL I BE ABLE TO KNOW WHICH BUTTON WAS PRESSED AS THEY
BOTH HAVE SAME ID AND getSouce() ?
In this case..it if was from rem or loc ?
} It would be really helpful if anyone could help me in this regard..
Thanks
Hari VigenshHi levi,
Thankx..
I solved the problem ..using same concept but in a different way..
One thing i wanted to make clear is that the two buttons are in the SAME CLASS and i am forming 2 different objects of the SAME class and then putting them in a GUI.THERE IS NO b and C. there is just two instances of b which belong to the SAME CLASS..
So the code
private JButton b = new JButton("ChgDir");
b.setActionCommand ("1");
wont work as both the instances would have the label "ChgDir" and have setActionCommand set to 1!!!!
Actually I have an array of buttons..So I solved the prob by writting a function caled setActionCmdRemote that would just set the action commands of one object of the class differently ..here is the code
public void setActionCommandsRemote()
for(int i = 0 ; i <cmdButtons.length ; i++)
cmdButtons.setActionCommand((cmdButtons[i].getText())+"Rem");
This just adds "rem" to the existing Actioncommand and i check it as folows in my actionperformed method
if(button.getActionCommand().equals("DeleteRem") )
deleteFileRemote();
else if(button.getActionCommand().equals("Delete") )
deleteFileLocal();Anyway thanx a milion for your help..this was my first posting and I was glad to get a prompt reply!!!
