  • Azure VM not starting

    Hi,
I have created a new VM and cloud service with Reserved IP. But the VM does not start and says:
Could not start virtual machine "VM Name" in cloud service  "Cloud Service Name".
and in cloud service it says:
    Running
Not all role instances are ready.
1 Instance: 1 Stopped (Could not start)
I have not configured the Azure Service Configuration Schema (.cscfg File) as I dont know where to find it. IS it required?

    Hi,
There is no need to configure the .cscfg file when you reserve a public IP address to create a new VM. Is it a new cloud service that the VM in?
I recommend you to use the Azure PowerShell cmdlet below or restart the VM in the Azure management portal:
    Start-AzureVM -ServiceName xxx -Name xxx
If you recieved any error message, please feedback to us.
    Best regards,

  • Azure DataSync between Azure DBs stuck at Processing; can't cancel/delete/change

Title kind of says it all: I have two Azure DBs that I have kept synchronized for over a year and on 12/6 they suddenly stopped synchronizing and have been stuck in "Processing" ever since.  There is nothing in the logs after 12/6 so I cannot
    diagnose what the issue is.
    My Sync Group ID is
    51fba424-ab87-4a1c-9615-74725818f5c1_East US
    My Subscription ID is 81099f2c-7405-4c63-8faf-b19b5714b7fa

    Hi,
Any of the following can result in a sync group being stuck in the processing state.
    a)The client agent is offline.
Be sure that the client agent is online then try again.
b)The client agent is uninstalled or missing.
If the client agent is uninstalled or otherwise missing:
1)Remove agent XML file from the SQL Data Sync (Preview) installation folder if the file exists.
2)Install the agent on same/another on-premise computer, submit the agent key from the portal generated for the agent that’s showing offline.
c)The SQL Data Sync (Preview) service is stopped.
1)In the Start menu, search on Services.
2)Click Services in the Programs section of the search results.
3)Find the SQL Data Sync (Preview) service.
4)If the service status is Stopped right-click the service name and select Start from the dropdown menu.

  • Virtual Machine stuck starting up

    Hello.
My vm stuck at starting up state.
I have used powershell to stop it but again after i start it using the portal, it stays at starting up state once again.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
As you have already tried  Stop-AzureVM  using powershell, I Recommend you to try refreshing the portal page in the browser. If that doesn't help, try log out and log in back into the azure portal.
If nothing helped, delete the VM’s and be carful to keep the disks , the VHD will remain in the storage.
You can make yourself a backup first (by copying the VHD in some storage explorer tool, like CloudBerry Explorer), to be safe. Then you delete the VM and recreate it from the VHD (you will see it then in your VHD list).
Just be sure, when you recreate the VM, to configure it with EXACT the same parameters (whether in UI or command line).

    Hi Fellows,
Here is the situation of my cell phone that needs assistance:
I tried to turn on my cell phone this morning, the power light was on for a brief moment and the white screen says sony erisson appears, but it stuck here forever and won't proceed.
I tried the following but nothing works:
    - power off, remove battery for re-charging, remove sim card and memory card, wait over 1 minute before putting all back in.
-updating software but can't connect the phone with computer.
    Here is my phone spec:
    Sony Satio
    O/S Symbian
note: I did'nt  download any other apps lately, so it should not a issue with virus/ malware. I use this phone primary for voice communication and as a digital camera as it offers 12.1 megapixel.

    Hi there,
Sorry to hear about your problem.

  • Mail service stuck starting in Mavericks

After installing Mavericks server I've got a problem with the mailserver. In the Server.app it keeps showing as starting, but it never starts.
the terminal command 'serveradmin fullstatus mail' shows that everything is started as it should, except the Mail Transfer Agent. It shows the error Warning: SMTP mail service is enabled but not running.
The command 'serveradmin start mailtransferagent' results in the error "CANNOT_LOAD_BUNDLE_ERR"
Console shows no helpfull messages except the obscure "serveradmin: posting dist not" right after entering the 'serveradmin start mailtransferagent' command.
Any idea how I can get the mail service to start?

It's sort of an upgraded system. The Mavericks installation is actually a fresh one, but data was then restored with TimeMachine from a previous 10.6 system. So old configs are a possibility.
Belowe is all that showed in the log. Besides some (IMHO) non critical permission warnings, there is nothing. The mailaccess.log was actually empty.

  • Sqlpackage.exe Azure export error started few days ago

I was using this for a couple of months and suddenly since few days, I can't do it anymore
    sqlpackage.exe /a:Export /ssn:xxxxxxx.database.windows.net /sdn:"xxx" /su:"xxx" /sp:"xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" /tf:"xxxxxx.bacpac"
Connecting to database 'xxxxx' on server 'xxxxxxx.database.windows.net'.
    Extracting schema
    Extracting schema from database
*** Error exporting database:Could not extract package from specified database. Unable to reconnect to database: Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. Timeout
expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. The wait operation timed out

    Alex,
Thanks for contacting Forum support. In the above response by Mekh, he has suggested to open a support ticket for a specific reason
    1. SQLPackage.exe doesn't have it's own logging.
    2. However if you open a support ticket, we will be able to sql database gateway logs and SQL performance logs which
could have an impact on the SQLPackage.exe.
This post might seem repetitive but it's because of the fact that, the error message is  "Could not extract package from specified database. Unable to reconnect to database: Timeout expired." This could mean many things which Mekh has
been discussing with you throughout the post.
    One quick question here:
    1. What is the frequency of this failing using SQLPackage.exe? (If I remember correctly, this tool is working fine with many other databases. have you tried and found out what is the outstanding change of this DB when compared to other DBs?)
    2. When the SQLPackage.exe failed, how was the database performance? Was it over-loaded?
    3. Was there any outages at that time? (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/support/service-dashboard/)
    4. Sometimes, the Dashboard doesn't list all the outages if the impact is not huge in which cases, opening a support ticket helps. The support team contacts the Operations team (who manage the data-center machines) and if required, they involve the Product
    Group developers in extreme situations.
    5. This is a repetition; the SQLPackage.exe import/export of bacpac/dacpac doesn't have a 'Operation ID'. That means, we cannot trace the failure to check why there was a Timeout/connection issue/performance issue/queue length issue etc.
Again, SQLPackage.exe is not the only tool out there. We strongly recommend you to use tools like Export, Automated exports etc.
With the new SQL Azure DB announcements, you actually don't even need to make a copy of the database using SQLPackage.exe. You can use the Geo-restore/Deleted databases/Restore feature in case of disasters (/Oops delete). For a new service tier database
(Basic/Standard/Premium), we internally maintain backups and in case you need to restore the database, you can use the 'Restore' functionality to restore the database to a point 7 days (Basic tier), 15 days (Standard) and up to 35 days (Premium tier). This
very feature itself solves your very problem of performing an export using SQLPackage.exe. (http://azure.microsoft.com/blog/2014/09/13/azure-sql-database-geo-restore/)
Said that, if you open a support incident, the team will be able to talk to you over the phone and spend good amount of time, have a screen-sharing session, having 1:1 follow-ups, escalation routes etc.
I hope this reply helps you and I hope you will be able to make better business decisions with tools such as SQLPackage.exe itself.

  • IPhone 3G on Apple stuck start screen

    Hello,
My iPhone (new out of the box today) has frozen on the Apple start screen after I connected it to iTunes. I updated the software and it restarted but got no further than this screen. It will switch off if I hold the home button and iTunes recognises it after it has been connected for a few minutes. I have restored it since and it is still acting the same.
The battery wasn't flat when I connected it and this is the first time I have plugged it into my Mac.
Thanks in advance for your solutions and help, Lauren.

    Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

  • My 9800 is stuck starting up.

It will not get passed 3/4 of the bar filling up then it restarts.  Any suggestions?   I am willing to reset it but I NEED to get documents and other important info from it first ideally.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

Like insurance, backups are neither a reactive nor an optional activity...it is entirely possible that your data is already gone from the device itself, and hence not recoverable from it.

  • Stuck in Start-up : Blinking ? and Face

I have a G3 ibook from 2002 (Model A1005) and it got stuck starting up...the display froze and there was a string of nonsensical letters in the corner. I forced it to shut down and now all I get is a blinking question mark and face. I tried to do some of the help topics and got into a second screen that had had a refresh sign on one side and an arrow pointing to the right on the other. But the arrow wouldn't select and the refresh didn't seem to do anything. Now all I get is the blinking display.
Can something be done? I need my computer!
    Thank you.

    What should I do?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
It seems like a hard disk issue. Open Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and verify the disk. If there's a problem, make a clone with Carbon Copy Cloner > http://www.bombich.com Then, press Command and R keys while your Mac is starting, open Disk Utility and repair the disk

  • Timeout while configuring workflow manager (service bus services are stuck on strarting)

    Hello,
I cant finish workflow manager configuration. help me please.
    I tried:
    1) leave the farm (Workflow manager configuration), delete databases, create new farm with default settings - it creates SB&WF farms and on 3d stage I get timeout error.
    2) leave the farm, delete databases, delete workflow manager and service bus software, install it again, create new farm with defaults - the same result.
    3) leave the farm, delete databases, get powershell commands for "create new farm with default settings", run it step by step - same result.
    there are generated powershell commands:
     New-SBFarm -SBFarmDBConnectionString '... ManagementDB con string ...' -InternalPortRangeStart 9000 -TcpPort 9354 -MessageBrokerPort 9356 -RunAsAccount 'domain\acc' -AdminGroup 'BUILTIN\Administrators' -GatewayDBConnectionString '... gateway con string
    ...' -CertificateAutoGenerationKey $SBCertificateAutoGenerationKey -MessageContainerDBConnectionString '... message container con string ...' -Verbose;
New-WFFarm -WFFarmDBConnectionString '... WF managementDB con string ...' -RunAsAccount 'domain\acc' -AdminGroup 'BUILTIN\Administrators' -HttpsPort 12290 -HttpPort 12291 -InstanceDBConnectionString '... WF instanceDB con string ...' -ResourceDBConnectionString
    '... wf resourceDB con string ...' -CertificateAutoGenerationKey $WFCertAutoGenerationKey -Verbose;
    Add-SBHost -SBFarmDBConnectionString '... ManagementDB con string ...' -RunAsPassword $SBRunAsPassword -EnableFirewallRules $true -CertificateAutoGenerationKey $SBCertificateAutoGenerationKey -Verbose;
I don't see any errors in event log, only timeout error in setup log.
Service bus gateway service is started successfully, Service bus message broker is stuck starting.

dmadelung, thank you for your message.
the problem was with ports. 9000 port was used already. moving to different ports resolved the problem
