[b]Help[/b]: install Ora9 Faile over 100 times

I tried to install Oracle 9.2.0.1 on my laptop but always failed. The error messages show that the installation process failed while tring to writing XXXXX/help/XXXX.htm(l) files to my destination drive. The installation process always pop up error message at 12% and then end up at 14%. Actually when the process status bar shows 14% complete then the process rises to 100% immediately, and then the main window goes back to the install window (let you choose Oracle Home name and install path et al)
is there anyone here who has ever experienced similar situation please provide me some help, great appreciation.
basic configuration of my laptop:
OS: Win2K Professional (English)
Memory: 512 M
Virtual Memory on C: 200-500M
Boot drive C: NTFS (998 M free space)
Destination drive E: FAT32 (3.5 G free space)

Hi,
When I start up PS CS4, I get a message that not everything is being loaded correctly and I'm told to re-install PS.
Will installing over the current version on my HD overwrite all of my plugins, actions, presets, etc so that I have to load them again?
Or, will it simply load whatever is missing?

I've attached a screen shot of the message.
It says:
"One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
Anyone know what that means?
Unless there is something else to do, I'll just reinstall as they request.

Installing individual apps - over 100%?

We have purchased Adobe's Creative Cloud for a business environment and we're trying to install Photoshop/InDesign in one of our corporate computers. The App Manager downloaded and installed with no issue, but after trying to install the individual applications, they will continue to download past 100% with what seems no end in sight. Please look at the image attached for an example. This is costing us time and money by the day. We've been trying to get this installed for three days now. This specific one is now standing at 380% download...what gives?
Any help would be appreciated:

CTS-Julie did you download and install the updated Adobe Application Manager on your second computer? What version is currently installed?
Secondly please don't install to your desktop folder. This is a directory located in your User folder and will make it very difficult, if you can even install successfully, for any other user account to access this application. Especially if you are having installation difficulties please utilize the default location for installation first. If this is successful you can then look at customizing the installation location.

Instalation process FAIL after 100% file copy process

I'm installing oracle 8i , in the tipical intalation and after the copy process end, before the configuration process, i got the message bellow:

You should contact support for these types of issues. I'm just guessing (it's all that I can do without a lot of analysis of reports and an exact description of what was done): The extract process could be looking for files that were removed from the system, and has to be manually repositioned (from the extract process, run info "detail" and "showch"). It's possible that by deleting (or moving) archive logs from the source system, and if extract hadn't processed them yet, then you may have missed some data that needed to be replicated. But that is just a guess. I don't think there is any way you're going to be able to get an issue like this resolved without someone looking at and analyzing what has been done, what was moved where, and deciding (carefully) what steps to take next.

How do I fix: The Plugin Check comes up EVERY time I start Firefox, AND I've installed Adobe Acrobat over 3 times but it still shows up as outdated

I crammed the info into the subject line, but to repeat...
Every time I start Firefox, the Plugin Check runs. Every ... single ... time. Very annoying. How do I get this to stop?
AND
I installed Adobe Acrobat at least 3 times, but it still shows up as "outdated". Obviously, it only truly installed once, but I tried clicking the button in vain hope that that will fix it.
But really, I simply don't want the Plugin Check to start every time.

Alas, I already tried setting it to False (read it online somewhere) and it doesn't work. Perhaps if you could give guidance on why the Adobe install isn't completing, that would solve the plug-in check issue... Fingers crossed.

I had installed a new driver and then, downloaded Firefox 7. It has over 100 cookies in the download. Deleting them from cookies in the browser does not help since is within the download. How can I permanently delet these cookies? Thank you.

Since it is in the download, I am unable to permanently delete these (over 100) cookies and they continue to reoccur each time I open the browser. Sometimes the cookies will not delete when I try to remove only "one" cookie and I must remove "all". I have used Firefox as my browser for years but this has never happened.

You can't remove opt-out cookies that are added by an extension as long as that extension is enabled or installed. If you choose to install such an extension then you have to accept the presence of 100 or more cookies added by the extension.

Please refer to the Agent Installation and Configuration guide.pdf from Cisco. The steps to configure the agents in a cluster have been explained in section Configuring the Agents for a Cluster

BBM 5 status update failed when over 100 contacts

I have found BBM 5.0.0.33 and BBM 5.0.0.55 will not update your status if you have over than 100 contacts.
This has been tested a verified by many blackberry messenger users, with different phones, and different versions of the OS.
There is no solution and almost everything has been tried, from re-installing the OS, to re-adding contacts individually etc..
The only thing to do is to delete your contacts so as the total is below or equal to 100.
I am shocked and surprised that RIM has not acknowledged this problem, nor have they fixed this in the 0.55 release.
It seems to be a trivial problem, with a magic number of 100 contacts.
If RIM is trying to prevent the servers from overloading with status update info, at least increase the limit to 200 contacts, as most people will have less than 200 contacts, but a lot have over 100.
The magic number should be 200

Help With Fail Over

I have been playing around with Directory Server fail over with IMS 5.2 however its not working too well, so far I have:
configured local.ugldaphost to ldap-a ldap-b
No problem there, on ldap server a (Master) I have setup replication of the following:
dc=domain,dc=blah,dc=blah
o=internet
Using this method I get "Can't connect to LDAP server" once I have logged in to IMS 5.2 web mail, trying to access my folders (which work) and personal address book (which doesnt), looking at the logs for HTTP it states:

Do I also need to replicate:
o=NetscapeRoot
o=pab
I have tried replicating simply o=NetscapeRoot and I could no longer login as admin into the directory server console on the REPLICA (ldap-b).
Can anybody help me out?

To successfully have a 'low cost' failover iDS5/iMS5 scenerio, you need to do
a number of things. Or if you have a wad of cash use Vertias cluster
(HA iplanet agents), etc. Directory server proxies (iDAR) :(
Currently I'm using a 'low cost' failover technique.
None of what I'm about to describe is in the SunONE doco. for iMS.
I have tested this in the Lab, all works, it's now in production.
Before you do anything, test in the lab first, so you feel comfortable with
the setups.
OK my scenerio.
Primary LDAP = ldap-a
Secondary LDAP = ldap-b
Mailserver = mta1
iDS5 = iDS5.1p1
iMS5 = iMS5.2p1
1. Install iDS5 on ldap-a. Acts a User dir. and Config dir. server.
2. Prep. ldap-a for iMS5 install (run ims_dssetup.pl).
     - YES to schema files/indices
3. Install iMS5 on mta1, using ldap-a as User and Config dir. server.
     - I have iMS5 configured in Direct LDAP mode.
4. Install iDS5 on ldap-b, use ldap-b as User and ldap-a as Config dir. server.
     - No need populate the User tree on ldap-b (ie. example users from install)
     - MUST USE ldap-a as config server, as you will be replicating this tree.
if not you will not be able to access the admin server, as you stated.
5. Also run ims_dssetup.pl on ldap-b.
     - YES to schema files/indices
6. Setup multi-master replication between ldap-a and ldap-b.
     - See Admin Guide, have a good read, needs correct setup !
     - This allows read/write, thus seamless to email user for password
     changing, PAB writes...if LDAP has failed over.
     - Replicate all suffices
          o=isp           (User dir.)
          o=internet      (DC tree)
          o=pab          (PAB tree)
          o=NetscapeRoot     (Config. dir)
     - Init consumer(ldap-b) from ldap-a for all suffices.
Note: Only problem with multi-master is uniqueness plugins, (if using)
it's no problem aslong as you use ldap-a as master. See iDS Admin guide.
7. Now ldap-b requires a change to allow iMS5 to allow writes to o=NetscapeRoot
in the event of failover. Otherwise the error message "ldap server unavailable,
no configuration server, using locally cached values...whatever blah blah !
Managing Console Fail Over
If you have a multi-master installation with o=NetscapeRoot replicated
between your two masters, ldap-a and ldap-b, you can modify the console
on the second server (ldap-b) so that it uses ldap-b's instance instead
of ldap-a's. (By default, writes with ldap-b's console would be made to
ldap-a then replicated over.)
To accomplish this, you must:
Shut down the Administration Server and Directory Server.
Change these files to reflect ldap-b's values:
'serverRoot'/userdb/dbswitch.conf:
directory default ldap://ldap-b:389/o%3DNetscapeRoot
'serverRoot'/admin-serv/config/adm.conf:
ldapHost: ldap-b
ldapPort: 389
'serverRoot'/shared/config/dbswitch.conf:
directory default ldap://ldap-b:389/o%3DNetscapeRoot
'serverRoot'/slapd-serverID/config/dse.ldif:
nsslapd-pluginarg0: ldap://ldap-b:389/o%3DnetscapeRoot
Note: assuming your LDAP TCP port is 389
Turn off the pass through authentication (PTA) plug-in on ldap-b by editing
its dse.ldif file.
In a text editor, open the 'serverRoot'/slapd-serverID/config/dse.ldif file.
Locate the entry for the the PTA plug-in:
dn: cn=Pass Through Authentication,cn=plugins,cn=config
Change nsslapd-pluginEnabled: on to nsslapd-pluginEnabled: off.
Restart the Directory Server and Administration Server.
8. Now on mta1, using configutil, set options to these values
**a. local.ldaphost = "ldap-a ldap-b"
          - Required to use both servers as Config dir. servers,
in the event of failover, config. is taken from ldap-b.
     b. local.ugldaphost = "ldap-a ldap-b"
          - Required to use both servers for User dir. lookups in event of
failover.
c. local.service.pab = "ldap-a ldap-b"
- Required to use both servers for PAB lookup/additions in the event
of failover.
     ** To make config dir. failover, shutdown Admin server. and change,
'serverroot'/shared/config/dbswith.conf:
directory default ldap://ldap-a ldap-b:389/o%3DNetscapeRoot
     Restart Admin server.
OK that's all there is too it.
Now test everything, failover LDAP, test logins for email POP/Webmail, IMAP if used.
Test email connections (ie. inbound/outbound email conns)
Note:
Whatever LDAP server fails, iMS5 will continue to use other LDAP server, even when
failed LDAP server comes online. Either stop/start iDS5 on current LDAP server or
stop/start iMS5.

What version of the OS did you upgrade from ?
Anything before OS X 10.8.2 may have an issue if the Logic/Mother board has been replaced and the Serial Number not "flashed" back to it.
In the Apple Icon menu use the About this Mac item.
In the new panel click twice on the line that tells you the current OS level
It will change to the Build number (and alternative count to the OS versions) and then the Serial Number.
If it is missing you need to get it replaced.
(It is supposed to be done on Repair or Refurbishment).
An Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider as the best choices.
There are apps you can download (They are Mac Model specific) but needs careful typing as it is a once only trip.

I have contacted Corel and after several emails and one telephone call, they tell me , they cannot help but they think the problem could be with the OS.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Cannot download Fallensword Helper Scripts. Getting "Script could not be installed Error: Failed to @require json2.js"

Hello, I did a drive eraser and reinstalled everything(to clean up computer), then when I got to reinstalling firefox I had a problem. I play a game called Fallensword. It has a script called Fallenswordhelper. So I installed GreaseMonkey, then when I tried to install scripts it said "Script could not be installed Error: Failed to @require json2.js". I have done this to my computer every year since I started using computers. I have never had this before. Please help me get a fix for this, for I google it and cannot find a answer.
