Hi, I just bought a Sony Digital Reader and want to put a book that I have downloaded into Adobe Digital reader onto my Sony Digital reader, but I cannot figure out how to do this. I can import through my Sony software, but I cannot pickup the book from Adobe. How do I move the ebook from Adobe to my hand-held reader? If anyone has an answer, please let me know and thanks in advance. Make the answer easy if you have one.

I did finally get my books moved onto my Sony Digital Reader. I moved the folder over rather than trying to move the individal books over. By moving the folder I got the books into the Sony Library on my PC and then I could transfer them to my Reader. Maybe not the most original way to do it - but it worked for me!

You will need to install an Adobe DRM compatible app on the samsung, such as Bluefire or Aldiko.
Then copy books using a file manager (eg Windows Explorer, Mac Finder) to the device as a mounted drive.
You can't copy from ADE (digital editions) directly as you can for a dedicated eReader device.

Can you tell us what you have done, and what didn't work?
There are bugs with ADE2.0 on some ereaders: not sure if that includes your Kobo.
It may be worth trying v1.7.2 instead.
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Can I transfer 11 books on my original Sony Digital Reader to my PRST-1 Sony Reader?

Some of my books are in my newer PRST-1 Sony Reader but 11 are stuck in the older Sony Digital Reader and I want to move them into the newer one.
Can I transfer the 11 books that are on my original Sony Digital Reader to my newer Sony PRST-1 Reader so that all of my purchased books are in there?
If so, do I need Digital Editions? Or should I use the Sony software?
I cannot recall the Adobe ID associated with my Sony Reader account and lost any information in my old computer for tracking that down. Perhaps there is a way to find that info in the Sony Reader itself.
Please advise.

Also, you can try the “SYNC” option in the Windows Media Player, after connecting the Reader to the Computer, for transferring the songs.

...which is a real shame. I 'married' Kindle very early on, so that's my format of choice. I like being able to read on my e-reader or computer. I find it very odd that Apple hasn't come up with a Mac reader for its eBook format.

I have a brand new iPad Air that I want to download some of my ebooks to from Adobe Digital Editions. However, I can't figure out how to do it, and my ipad user manual doesn't say. Can you help?

You just need to sign in to same Adobe Revel account on both the devices - Elements Organizer on PC and Revel App on iPad. Revel app is available for free on MAS so you may download it from there.

Can't transfer eBooks from Adobe Digital Editions to eBook Library

Everything worked fine initially, 5 books purchased from Waterstones and transfered fine.
Since then I have purchased 2 books and downloaded a free eBook from the Adobe site, and none will work outside of Adobe DE.
When I try to import them into eBook Library I am told "This eBook cannot be transferred because it is authorized to another user.
I have tried removing both programs from my PC and re-installing - this has made no difference.

I am having exactly the same problem with Waterstones books.
When I open the book in Adobe DE, click on reading and then item info I get the usual publishers information and an error message:
"Document contains a resource which is too long".
I have had no problems transferring books that I have purchased from the WHSmiths eBookShop.

Unfortunately with the SE version, it does NOT have a MOVE utility. The GOOD
news is that it will update itself on where you physically moved the
picture.
Step 1. Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer and locate
the image that you wish to move;
Step 2. Move the image to My Pictures per your question;
Step 3. Open Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition;
Step 4. Click File, Reconnect All Missing Files.

Printing problem from Adobe Acrobat 8 and Reader 9

Hello together,
i've got a problem while printing from Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 and Acrobat Reader 9.
I've got the Error: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstoraster failed
It happens with my new Canon ip4700 and my brother laser printer.
I got the newest available Version of OSX and the Adobe Updates.
The PDF files are printed in the "OSX Preview", but not in the Adobe Software
Happy for any help or advice.

Acrobat 8 and Reader 9 are not compatible. The only versions of Reader and Acrobat designed to be compatible with each other in Windows is Reader and Acrobat X.

Does anyone know how to move ePub ebooks from Adobe digital editions to a Kobo?

Does anyone know how to move ePub ebooks that I've purchased onto my Kobo eReader? I've tried everything...help from where I bought the books, surfing the net, etc. but even though the book is in the library of my Adobe Digital Editions I can't drag it onto the Kobo library. The dragging stops at the border of the Adobe site. I've spent hours and am SO frustrated - hope somebody can help.

1. Download "Adobe Digital Editions" from App store.
For transferring books to ipad, you can try either of two things:
- Email your book and download it on your ipad, only make sure authorization credentials is same on your ipad
or
-Connect your ipad to your machine
-Open itunes
-Select ipad.
-Select Apps
-Scroll below to File Sharing
-Then select ADE
-Click on Add and select the file that you want to transfer
now, open ADE app on ipad, tap on leftmost button (3 line), and select refresh.
Your book will appear in ADE on ipad.
only make sure authorization credentials is same on your ipad

Moving photos from Adobe on PC to iPhoto

Hi, I am new to MAC. I have all of my photos organized in Adobe, and have moved them to my MAC by transferring them on CD's. My question: in Adobe, I had pictures tagged with several tags (for example,Nick,Grandparents,Christmas 05,). I had a tag called Nick that I could put with every pic of him. I know I can create an event of Christmas 05 and then keyword it with Nick,Grandparents. However, I have many pics of Nick that are not necessarily from a specific "Event". Do I create an album called Nick and then drag the photos to it? If that is what I should do, will that then automatically create individual "events". If so, is there any way to prevent having thousands of "events"?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you set up your iPhoto/Events preferences as shown hhere then each folder or batch of photos imported from the Finder will be in the same Event. I don't know how you have the folders titled but the events will have the same title as that of the folder imported.
If the tags you're referring to are keywords and were written to the file when on the PC they will be read and imported by iPhoto when the file is imported. You can then create a Smart Album with the criteria Keyword is Nick. All of the photos with that keyword will be automatically displayed in that album The same goes for any keyword.
You can combine events by dragging the photos from one event (while in the Photos window with the option to Show Event Names selected in the View menu) into another.
When you import photos directly from a camera they will be placed in events based on the time frame selected in that Events preferences pane, 1 day, 1 week, 2 hrs or 8 hrs.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
