B-Roll placed freezes A roll track

I am trying to use some B roll on a second track on FCE. The B roll track works OK, but when it dumps out of B roll back onto the A roll track, the A roll video is frozen. Take the B roll out and the A roll displays motion as usual. Anyone know what this is about and how to correct it?

Not enough information. From your description is sounds as if your system is fast enough to support multiple tracks of video.

Freezing EXS Instrument Tracks...can and can't do it??

Hi everybody. Got a new question for anyone and everyone:
In a couple of my songs I have to option (present button) of freezing EXS instrument tracks and in others I do not. The newer songs I've made and saved that were created by draggin in .band files allow me to freeze EXS tracks while others I created using my autoload do not. (I don't know if this is the case across the board but it seems to be a pattern...)
Is my autoload messing stuff up? Generally am I supposed to be able to freeze EXS? Makes sense that I would.....

Have you selected multi-channel EXS24s? As far as I know it's not possible to freeze these. Worth a look.

IPod won't sync correctly. iTunes freeze during "Determing Tracks to Sync". Playcounts are a mess now. Please help!'

So since a few months my iPod is starting to get on my nerves. Everytime I try to sync it, my iTunes freezes during the "Determing Tracks to Sync" step. Most of the time it takes a few minutes and then it cancels the sync. I have to sync my ipod atleast 10 times a day to get a song or app on my iPod! One of the most anoyying things tough is, that all playcounts from my iPod sync to my iTunes every time I try to sync. Example: I play Poker Face on my iPod 5 times. I try to sync and my play count says 5 times on my PC. I sync my iPod again and it says 10 times now. It's so anoyying. I restored my iPod already. I removed iTunes and installed it again (And yeah, I deleted it the way Apple wants it). I called Apple and they said I can repair my iPod for 150€, but that's just so much. Any ideas on how to fix my iPod?

And welcome to Apple Discussions.
Because you reformatted your computer, your iPod does not recognize the new library because it was synced with the older library you had before reformatting. In order to get the iPod working again, you will have to [Restore|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1339] the iPod via iTunes. Once you have completed that step, try re-syncing the music and see if that helps.

How to freeze position of tracks in PE 10

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Adobe Premiere Elements. The project I'm editing includes five video clips

I also agree on how important full Track Locking is. I use it all of the time in PrPro, and miss it, when working in PrE.
I feel that PrE could benefit from full Track Targeting, such as PrPro has, so that, for instance, when one creates a New Title, they could identify exaclty where it will go, by Targeting a particular Track, and placing the CTI (Current Time Indicator/Playhead), where they want that New Title to go. PrE simplifies things a bit too much for me, but their philosophy probably works for the vast majority of users, and my method would possibly confuse many new users. I also like PrPro's function, where New Titles are ONLY created in the Project Panel, and are not automatically added to the Timeline. I can then just click+drag my Title to exactly where I want it, whether as an Insert, or an overlay.
However, I can understand why Adobe chooses to do things one way in PrE, and another in PrPro (besides the vast differences in the cost of the two programs), in that the user-bases for the two NLE's, is quite different.

Freezing when rearranging tracks

Hey all, I'm on Mavericks with the latest version of Garageband, and I'm having an issue with only ONE Garageband file. I'm able to listen to the track perfectly on Garageband without issue, but when I go to rearrange ANYTHING on the file, it freezes up with the beach ball of doom, spinning forever, taunting me with it's bright, plastic-like colors. I've tried renaming the file, re-saving it, copying it, using the 'oddball' preferences fix, reparing disk permissions, restarting my computer, waiting a day to see if anything changes, to no avail. If you have any idea what's going on or some solutions, I'd love to hear it. Let me know if you need more details.

Beatport problem -- screen freezes with some tracks...

It started happening since i downloaded Flash 10 --- the
screen freezes with a lot of tracks...when it's freezed, there's
nothin' else i can do with that page ( at least inside beatport ).
When i open another Beatport page, and go to the same track that
freezed before, it happens again... this is very bad, 'cause it
doesn't allow me to buy some excellent tracks... Does anyone know

As JustinC pointed out, it would be better you were running a more 'mature' OS (also CoreAudio is part of Quicktime so if you have updated QT and not the OS you could, possibly, be running an incompatible version of CoreAudio, i'm not too sure about that.)
But considering the symptoms you mentioned, and the fact you are running very few audio tracks, I'm assuming you run a lot of MIDI.
The symptoms you describe sound a lot like a MIDI feedback loop.
You don't have any sort of inter-app MIDI routing enabled, do you ?
If you do, you need to isolate the inter-app inputs from the sequencer input, or be very careful not to select tracks which are assigned to an inter-app port (or 'all' ports)
Oh, and update the OS anyway, there is no good reason to stick with 10.3.0

Freezes @ end of track, beeping sound when i reset

My ipod plays a track and just a second before the track is over, the ipod freezes. I then reset it and it makes a beeping sound and freezes again. Then when i reset it for a 3rd time, it tells me go to to the ipod support page online. This is just so completely frustrating. Someone please help. After restoring, the same thing happens again. Can someone please help?

Can you freeze the audio tracks in 6.0.3

I have students that are using voice-overs in their projects and every time they move a piece of video all of the audio shifts with the clip. These two pieces - audio and video - were each imported seperately and aligned on the tracks. Is there any way to lock the audio tracks while moving the video?
Any help is appreciated!

Hi Tom, and welcome!
Yes, that is very easy: Place the audio clip exactly where you want it, highlight it by clicking on it, go to Advanced menu and click on 'Lock audio clip at playhead'.
Now, if you move or even edit the video clip, the audio clip moves with it.

When i arm a track in audition cs5.5 it freezes.when the track is not armed it works without freezing, What am i doing wrong ?

This is probably because some of the effects that you have inserted into the Effects Rack take rather a lot of processing for Audition to do in real time whilst recording into those tracks. if you really need the Effects Rack on whilst recording then you could try Pre-rendering the tracks by clicking on the 'lightning' icon at the top right of the Effects Rack.

WMA audio files can only placed in audio track 8 for some reason

Using CS3. The only other audio tracks that have any files in them are tracks 1 through 3 . The WMA files in track 8 were recorded from a small digital recorder.
Every other audio file..... mp3 and the captured mpeg's audio portion.... can go in any audio track.
Why are these WMA files not able to be placed in the other tracks?

Per Harm's comment, you can look at the Audio Track Header for the little "speaker" icons for each Track: one speaker = mono, two speakers = stereo, and "5.1" = a 5.1 Audio Track.
If you set up your Project/Sequence with the required Audio Track types for your Assets, you can have your mono, or 5.1 Audio Tracks almost anywhere you want, and can also change the name, from say "Audio 1" to "SFX_Mono_01."
Also, if you have a bunch of unused Audio (or Video) Tracks, you can Delete those, or can create new ones, about wherever you wish. If you do not have the proper type of Audio Track created, PrPro will create a new one, of the proper type, for you. Just drag your Asset to below the Master, and boom! a new proper Track will appear, with the Clip in it.

Why can't I freeze a track?

I just got the software (hence my probably stupid question), I know in the future I will want to freeze tracks hence why I am messing around now, I just want to freeze an audio track (recorded from a mic) but there is no freeze icon, do I need to change view or something?

If you right click or option click the track where the buttons are, an option should pop up allowing you to customize what is shown. You can tell it to display the freeze button, then just hit the button on each track you want to freeze.

AU 3 crashes when freezing tracks

I recently upgraded from Audition 1.0 to 3.0. I have converted previously recorded (ver 1.0) sessions containing locked tracks. These tracks often won't play until I unlock them in AU 3.0 - however when I try to relock them, AU 3.0 crashes on me.
I'm thinking the AU 3.0 may be getting confused by track lock instructions written by 1.0, but am not sure. I have yet to start a brand new 3.0 session, and try locking tracks in a "totaly 3.0" session.
Anyone have experience with 3.0 crashes while trying to freeze efx'd tracks?

If you could make a quick session, import a file into a track, add an effect, and try to freeze it, it will help narrow down the possibilities as to what's going on there.

Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2010 freezes ,hang , not respond

Im a owner of Macbook Pro 13 MID 2010 and mine has same problems
System freeze ,mouse blocked,keyboard light off,keyboard blocked,only power off by button.
It happens randomly with aplications or only in finder ,or once was at start up after login ...
But i can work 3 days or more without problems,so for technical service will be difficult to see it.
Im a professional musician and i make my performances for a hundred of people with a laptop so i cant risk a set with this laptop no more...
Y tried to reinstall system,same problems...
I think is a hardware in 13 ,15 and 17 macbook pro 2010.
I will not accept a hard drive repair,i will request a new unit.
It only has 2 months......And as my job depends of a laptop, i need a new one.
Now im again working with my old Powerbook G4 (2002) and still goes perfect !!!!

I only use Traktor NAtive instrumentes for my performances....all original software.
Freezes were with traktor and without it on system....
External hard druve boot tested and also freezes.

I've been having the same problem. I'm a Dj, like a lot of people I use Traktor Scratch Pro. I've been using a mac for mixing for around, 2 years now, never had a problem. Since I updated to leopard snow, I've been experiencing the exact same problems described in this post,the screen freezes, sudden dropouts, when using Traktor software exact same thing, audio dropouts, screen freezes when loading track, or searching library.
I've been doing a LOT of researching, and I'm almost sure the problem is Leopard Snow, I don't know why but I'm almost certain. I erased mi HD, thinking this would solve the problem, loaded snow leopard again... EXACT same problem occured.

So, right now I'm downloading an older version of MAC OS 10.5.5, I will format (again) my HD and install this older version.

Apple URGENTLY needs a new update (10.6.5) there are a lot of other people like us, that are depending in a lap top (mac) to perform to a lot of people, you can check the forums in www.native-instruments.com, and see this issue is hapening to many of us.

Problem - Title Cards in Vid Track 2 Skewing In and Out Points in Track 1 ?

Vast confusion. I'm working with edits in a timeline, created from video files that are "Avid Meridien Compressed" Quicktime Files. These are files that I exported from Avid. They are 24P files. The timeline has been set to 23.97, and everything in Video Track 1 makes sense, no problems, no render line because the project compression settings have been set to "Avid Meridien Compressed".
Ok, so here's the problem. I am creating title cards with the video generator in FCP, and trying to super them into my edits by placing them into Video Track 2. But the moment I drop a title card into Video Track 2, (over an edit I have made in Video Track 1), there is a SHIFT in the in and out points of the source video in the timeline. For example, let's say an edit in my timeline has a source in of 02:02:30:17 and an out of 02:02:35:17. The moment I try and drop a title card over this edit in Video Track 2, the source video in Track 1 shifts, so it now begins at 02:02:31:29 and ends at 02:02:36:29.
It is as if the title cards refuse to conform to the 23.97 timeline, and are overriding the source video edit decisions in Video Track 1.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why this is occcuring? Does anyone have any suggestions for a remedy? BTW, I have also tried creating title cards in photoshop and dropping them in, but with the same result: it changes the source time code edits by shifting them later into the source video.

Update!
While I was never able to get the Vid Track 2 title cards to stop shifting the edit decisions in Vid Track 1 when using the preset that is in tandem with the actual source video files (Avid Meridien Quicktimes at 23.98), I did find that by changing the Sequence Setting to DV/DVCPRO50 NTSC at 23.98 that I could drop the titles into Vid Track 2 successfully without any skewing of edit decisons. You now have to render the timeline, but a quick test of an MPEG2 export showed that there's no denigration in image quality with using this setting.
So that's the scoop. It seems that there's no pure solution to this issue. Perhaps if there's a way to generate title cards out of Avid that are importable into FCP, that would do the trick, but I haven't taken my research that far.

Secondly while doing goods delivery from warehouse required materials are put into the carton after TO is confirmed and carton should weighed for exact measurment by a weighing scale , if the weight is not matching with prescribed value then it will be send back to packing so, where and how to integrate the weighing scale with SAP WM process.
