B Roll without Audio

ok you know how you have some B roll that you want to superimpose over the main video right? but you don't want the audio to come over with it. is there anyway to post only video without the audio without it bumping your other audio tracks around?

I'd turn the audio WAY down...but leave it audible, if possible. Because when you see something, but don't hear it? You're mind gets distracted like, "why can't I hear that?" But, if it is just wind noise, or there are people talking behind the camera or other audio that doesn't pertain to the b-roll...nix it. And think about adding SFX for that later....if your mind gets distracted.

You can find the serial number either in About this Mc in the Menu bar under the , or it should be on a sticker under the foot of the machine.
If you have the install discs, try booting from them, holding down the c key and then using Disk Utility to check the drive.
You can also boot into Safe mode
To start up into Safe Mode (to "Safe Boot"), do this:
       1. Be sure the computer is shut down.
       2. Press the power button.
       3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key.
Tip: The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone but not before.
       4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple and progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During the startup in Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.3.9, you will see "Safe Boot" on the Mac OS X startup screen.
During the startup in Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login window, which appears even if you normally log in automatically.
    Please post back with results,
To leave Safe Mode in any version of Mac OS X, restart the computer normally, without holding any keys during startup.

Installed windows 7 64 bit on my macbook .. but now got my macbook without audio. please help me!

You most likely installed Windows 7 in EFI mode. Can you confirm this?
If you used Bootcamp Assistant to partition your drive, you did not install in EFI mode.
If you selected "EFI Boot" at the boot menu before installing Windows, you started the EFI Boot installer.
Please let us know whether or not you installed in EFI mode because audio not working is a common problem in EFI mode, but should not appear in normal BIOS mode. (Normal BIOS mode is when you used Bootcamp assistant)

  • I have a I Phone 4...I recently upgraded the sofeware....this allowed me to create albums off my photo roll..How do I deleate the photos off the camera roll without deleating everywhere else?? Anyone??

I have I Phone 4... recently upgraded software.... I can create albums off my camera roll.....The problem is that I cant deleate the photo from the roll without deleating it from everwhere... EX.... albums just created.... FB... and anywhere else that photo might be...HELP..:)

    Lets take it by steps.
Do you have access to the phone? Is the phone is locked with a passcode (Usually 4 digit number)?
If you are referring to the Apple ID, it is irrelevant whether the email that was originally used is active or not. You will still use the email "name" as that IS the AppleID/username. If you have forgotten the password, you can reset it here:

  • How can i delete a picture from camera roll without deleting everywhere

how can i delete a picture in camera roll without deleting everywhere

You can't, when you 'copy' a photo into an album that you've created directly on the iPad then you are effectively just creating a pointer to the photo and not creating a second copy of it - so if you then delete the original photo from your iPad you will also be deleting all pointers to it and therefore removing it from other albums.

  • Hi there, can anyone tell me how to make make Garageband ignore HDMI as an audio output-device on a 2013 Mac Mini? Now it keeps on prompting me: Do you want want to use the HDMI device (monitor without audio) for audio output? Thanks in advance, Grtz T.

    Hi there,
Can anyone tell me how to make make Garageband ignore HDMI as an audio output-device on a 2013 Mac mini i7 using an Apogee jam as an input for bass and a Behringer USB DAC with RCA audio output? Now it keeps on prompting me: Do you want want to use the HDMI device (monitor without audio) for audio output? I'm also suffering massive audio lag issues with the Apogee jam after waking the mini from sleepmode, wich pretty much renders it useless.
    Thanks in advance,
    Grtz T.

I think the easiest way to do this is to have the EyeTV app running in one user account and sent via HDMI to the TV, and use a separate user account for Screen Sharing. Both logins can be active at the same time and with Lion you can connect via screen sharing to which ever login you need.
With regards to the Mac video resolution changing, when it is not the current input on your AV receiver. This is 'normal', if the Mac sees no signal it drops down the a lower level. What you need is to buy a HDMI Detective Plus which tricks the Mac in to always seeing a signal and hence it will not drop down the resolution. See http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005
The Mac mini does have an IR receiver. This can be used with the EyeTV app, iTunes, and similar. Yes I believe EyeTV would run for prolonged periods quite happily, it is has been around for a long time and had most of the rough edges polished off. However one issue you will have to deal with is that it does not automatically update its program guide data. For this you might have to write or modify an AppleScript. Elgato support or their user forums will be a lot of help.
You can set EyeTV to convert recordings to an iTunes (Apple TV) compatible format and then delete them from EyeTV.
The HDMI Detective should solve your handshaking problems.

  • Clip Notes rendering without audio

Using Premiere Pro 2.0,  A fan of Clip Notes.  The application is rendering projects without audio.  Checked Adobe.com for a download fix.  There is indeed a download for this problem.  I have downloaded and unzipped the files, there are presets for Clip Notes.  My problem; how do I install/deploy this fix?  The unzipped presets are just sitting on my desktop.

    Craig,
This was obviously sent to the forum via e-mail. Your complete sig. appears in the reply. This is not a good idea, as it contains personal info. As these fora are open, one never knows who might be lurking. Also, there are 'bots that crawl around here, just looking for personal info. Even our Personal Messaging system was recently attacked by spammers.
Just something to consider, and please update the thread, with the exact steps required. Seems that I updated my PrPro 2.0 ClipNotes, but that was so long ago, that I do not recall the exact process.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • I made an album just now. I went back to delete the pics from my camera roll but my only option is to "delete everywhere." I want to leave them in the new album I made..  How i can delete them from camera roll without deleting from other Album i made

I made an album just now. I went back to delete the pics from my camera roll but my only option is to "delete everywhere." I want to leave them in the new album I made..  How i can delete them from camera roll without deleting from other Album i made

The way that I understand that it works, is that the photos are not copied into the new albums, instead it just points to the photos - the number of photos on the iPad in Settings > General > About doesn't increase when you create new album so I assume from that that it isn't copying the photo, just pointing to it. So if you delete the photo from the camera roll you will therefore also be deleting all the pointers to it

  • H.264 export without audio creates files that are not recognized in Quicktime or VLC

    Dear all,
I need to generate h.264 files with video only. (short clips for use with a "clickable" catalog on an iPad)
Used the "H.264" category and chose a preset. Unchecked "Audio" so I only get the video exported.
The resulting .m4v file is not playable in Quicktime or VLC or MPEG streamclip.
When I leave audio enabled with the same preset, the file is fine, but as soon as I export without audio, the resulting file is unreadable.
Source material is ProRes 422HQ, audio+video, about 30-40 seconds long.
    Any clues?
    Carl.
    Mac Pro 5,1
    24GB RAM
    Nvidia Quadro4000
    4TB internal RAID0
    OS 10.7.5
    Premiere 6.0.2

Thanks Jeff, I did get that far ;-)
I'm sorry, probably my question wasn't very clear. Of course I can find some technical info about the iPad...
And of course some of the presets in Media Encoder provide basic starting points for encoding.
But... there is also the first iPad, I couldn't find the specs about it on the Apple site. On everymac.com I found:
Apple reports that the iPad supports "H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats."
So if I want to be compatible with all iPads I need to probably stay under 720p30 with [email protected] for H.264
    When I look at
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC
I find (from the example values) that 1280x720@30p is quite near the maximum matrix size. So with 1024x576 I should be ok there. My bandwith of about 2Mbit is also well within range in this case. But what if I want to fill an iPod screen (1024x768) with the highest possible quality video? How do I calculate if this fits the max frame size requirements, where this is expressed in a number of luma samples and macroblocks? What is my max bandwith? The tables says that the "Max video bit rate for video coding layer (VCL) kbit/s" should be <14.000kbps. Does that directly translate to the sliders in my encoding app?
If you look in the table "AVC software implementations" (under Software encoder feature comparison) you can see that some features that are supported in MainConcept, and not supported in Qt. (8×8 vs. 4×4 transform adaptivity, Quantization scaling matrices, Separate Cb and Cr QP control, etc. What are these exactly?)
In Streamclip one can choose to have B-frames or not, in AME there is no such control. Does that mean it always encodes with B-frames? Why would one not want to have B-frames?
A lot of parameters in AME H.264 encoding seem to be set to certain fixed values that are not accessible to the user. Other programs (Sorensen, Telestream) provide the user with access to more parameters. Which parameters in AME are set to what (fixed, non-accessible) values and why?
As I said earlier, Quicktime reports different codecs for what should be the same format but from different encoders. Why? Is there a program that can analyze a H.264 stream and report about it in more detail than VLC/Quicktime?
    etc. etc. etc....
If anyone could recommend an online resouce or a book to learn more about the ins and outs of H.264 encoding/decoding that would be great. I have the first edition of Charles Poynton's (brilliant!) book "Digital Video and HDTV", which does talk about MPEG-2 but not H.264. I saw that the second edition goes a bit more into detail about H.264. Does anyone have the second edition? Worth buying just for the relatively small addition about H.264?
    Thanks.
    Carl.

  • TS1696 I purchased and downloaded an episode of a television show onto my MacBook pro, as I have done before, but this one plays without audio. What gives?

I purchased and downloaded an episode of a television show onto my MacBook pro, as I have done before, but this time it only plays without audio. What gives?

Okay, so the download is possibly corrupt.  Did you try downloading again?
Also, you'll likely get more appropriate responses posting to the iTunes for MAC forum instead of the iTunes for Windows forum where this currently is.

  • Imported MPEG-4 clips to iMovie08 arrive without audio

I've recently shot a number of video clips with my Sony Cyber-shot digital camera and imported the stills and video clips to iPhoto. I've just upgraded to iLive08 and have attempted to import the MPEG-4 clips from iPhoto into iMovie. The clips arrive in iMovie without audio. When I open the clips in iPhoto, the audio is working. When I open them in iMovie, their is no audio. How do I get MPEG-4 clips from iPhoto, into an iMovie project with both video and audio?

Can you give me a few tips about using this kind of software?
iSquint is probably the easiest to use of those mentioned but is limited to MPEG4/AAC (default) or H.264/AAC output. Both are compatible with iMovie '08. If you have several files to convert, simply drop them to "Batch" window and press start to begin conversion to MPEG4/AAC files. This codec is very fast but requires 2.0-2.5 times the data rate of a H.264/AAC file for the same level of quaity. Use the MPEG4/AAC option if conversion speed is more important than creating smaller files. Checking the H.264 box switches to the H.264/AAC mode. Use the "Optimize for TV" option for VGA (640x480) files for iMovie '08 SD editing.
When you become more accustomed to the application you may wish to try customizing your settings using the "Advanced" window option. Increasing the video data rate may improve the video quality. (Actually, what you are doing here is preventing the loss of addition detail during conversions.) You may also wish to adjust the "Quality" Factor slider along with increases in the video data rate. It is probably best to leave the audio settings in their default setting.
