B.U. daughter's ipad, create new lib., original b.u. missing?
1) I've had my daughter's ipad on my account. Decided to let her have her own library so I backed it up to my account.
2) I then used iPhone Explorer to get all her photos, etc. off her iPad.
3) I then created a new library and wiped her ipad. I downloaded all of her apps and reloaded them. Then I used iPhone Explorer to put all of her pictures back on. I then back up her iPad to her account.
4) I now realize I don't have any notes that were on there before I started this project so I logged back into my iTunes Library to restore her iPad from my original backup, but in my library it is saying that the last backup is the one I made in HER library. Why is it not seeing the backup my MY library? Is there anything I can do to find that backup?
I think I just figured it out. Held down option key while clicking on restore from backup within MY library. This brought up the old backups. Waiting now to see if it will work.

(Answer provided by Linda, edit the registry key, you may back up registry first because incorrect setting in registry can cause serious issue.)

When I attempt to send a text from the new iPad, a dialog box appears with the option to either sign in with Apple ID Password or Create New Account. I try signing in using my Apple ID password but IMessage informs me that email address cannot be verified because it is already in use ??? What am I doing wrong?
settings -> iTunes & App Store
click on apple ID listed there
select Sign Out
sign in with the proper account
from then on, when the store ask for your password it should be with the correct ID -
I am being prompted to enter security questions when making a purchase on my new IPad. I don't believe I have ever setup security questions on my apple id. I have tried logging into my apple id and have chosen the security and priviacy settings to set up security questions. However I am prompted to enter answers to security questions and am told they don't match. How to I create new security questions or reset them?
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

That would be the wireless number assigned by AT&T when the purchaser of the iPhone signed up as a customer with AT&T. If neither you nor your uncle ever activated the iPhone with AT&T, click the "non customer" button.
Note that jailbreaking often renders it impossible to get an iPhone officially unlocked, so don't be surprised if it fails. If it does, then you may have to buy a new iPhone, this time one that is officially unlocked.

When I updated to iOS 8.3 I lost all shared photo albums on my iPad Air. Other devises which I shared to still have access to photo albums but my iPad does not, therefore I can no longer add or delete to shared albums. I can create new shared albums.

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iPad. If you are having issues accessing your Shared Albums from your iPad (but not from your other devices), you may want to double-check your iCloud Photo Sharing configuration as outlined in the following articles, just to make sure it hasn't changed:

I have created a home video, using my Panasonic Camera, and a high definition SD card. It is now on my computer as anMTS file, which I converted into an MP4 as well.
But I cannot get this file onto my ipad. I have tried countless ways. I finally today thought I had the answer..........the MP4 file is now in Itunes (I hate itunes, it is so user-unfriendly) and I read that I need to click on it, go to "create new version" and select the ipad version. But those options were greyed out. !!! Aaargh! Frustration! Any help gratefully recieved.You can try and import your MP4 using free OPlayer HD Lite via File Sharing.

How do you create new groups within Contacts on the iPad?
Can you create new groups within Contacts directly from the iPad, iPhone,or do you have to do it on the computer first?
The easiest way is to get the app called group e mail. There are a couple of others as well. There is a way to do it on your computer, and sync it, but I find that personally frustrating. :). Save yourself the aggrevation, and get the app, that works pretty well.

KamielMaybe you are confused by the fact I used the word 'maps' instead of 'folders' (my natural Ianguage is Dutch).
For your question about the manual: on page 59 in the 'iPad 2 user guide' under 'organizing Email' they say you can move messages to a different mailbox or folder. -

You can't create new albums on the iPad either. The user interface looks different, but the functionality is essentially the same.
The route is to create new albums on the desktop, and then sync via iTunes. -

Did you try adding your email account to the iPad in Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Add Account?

You can't do it on the iPad you would need to do it on your computer and the folder will be seen by your account on the iPad and iPhone only if they are IMAP and Exchange accounts. POP accounts are not supported for folders.

my daughter has a brand new ipod touch - latest one - she started to input a passcode then didn't finish the process then turned off ipod. she turned it back on and it is asking for a passcode - she doesn't remember what she typed. Ipod is now disabled for one hour. Can we override the disable. How do we reset passcode when we don't klnow the original. It has never been synced to Itunes. I am completely lost.

Using iPhoto 6 have created a Calendar but nothing - absolutely nothing - happens when pressing the Buy Calendar button. There is no error message, no activity on the broadband. Have tried setting 1-click and still no luck. Any suggestions?
