B1 communication on Internet

Hi All,
I am new to SAP B1, I want to know how can SAP B1 server & the B1 client be made to communicate via internet. Example: The server is at the head office and the client is at the warehouse (a completely different location). Please Advise, also if some one can provide any reference material for this it would be good.

Best practices for securing communication to internet based SCCM clients ?

What type of SSL certs does the community think should be used to secure traffic from internet based SCCM clients ? should 3rd party SSL certs be used ? When doing an inventory for example of the clients configuration in order to run reports

From a technical perspective, it doesn't matter where the certs come from as there is no difference whatsoever. A cert is a cert is a cert. The certs are *not* what provide the protection, they simply enable the use of SSL to protect the data in transit
and also provide an authentication mechanism.
From a logistics and cost perspective though, there is a huge difference. You may not be aware, but *every* client in IBCM requires its own unique client authentication certificate. This will get very expensive very quickly and is a recurring cost because
certs expire (most commercial cert vendors rarely offer certs valid for more than 3 years). Also, deploying certs from a 3rd party is not a trivial endeavor -- you more less run into chicken and egg issues here. With an internal Microsoft PKI, if designed
properly, there is zero recurring cost and deployment to internal systems is trivial. There is still certainly some cost and overhead involved, but it is dwarfed by that that comes with using with a third party CA for IBCM certs.

Lost communication with internet

I am using Windows 8 and I lost my safari and Internet Explorer connections. The following error message keeps appearing,"There was a problem communicating with the web proxy server (HTTP) CFURL ErrorDomain:360 How can I get back connected ?? My wireless priner connection ha been lost also

You might have had a piece of malware installed to your computer that changed your proxy settings. Please try this:
Open Start
Type: "Internet Options"
Select the Internet Options Control panel item from the list.
Go to the Connections tab.
Select the LAN Settings button
Uncheck the boxes for "Use a proxy server" and "Automatically detect settings" and then click OK out of all the windows.
If you can get online now, then awesome. I would STRONGLY recommend at this point downloading a copy of Malwarebytes from malwarebytes.org (the free version) and doing a full scan of your computer. Make sure you opt out of the free trial seen at the end of the Malwarebytes installer.

Watching a video, it stops, communication with Internet stops

I am watching a U-Tube video. I leave the video before it is done, or stop the video. Only when I do this does it seem that Firefox stops working. But maybe it is the ability to download anything from the Internet that stops. Firefox sends out the URL page request --but never get a response, and nothing further (web pages) download. Other software also can send packets but nothing ever comes back. Maybe the firewall? It is AVG Internet Security 2013. Only solution has been to re-boot the computer. I had this problem with this computer when it was an Windows XP operating system. This computer has been upgraded to Windows 7. But still having the same problem.

hi, I want my program to communicate with internet explorer, such as making it reload a page, change the address that sort of thing. I don't know how to make my program talk to internet explorer, can anyone help? or point me in the right direction? Thanks

you can't do this directly... what you should look into is controlling IE through activeX components, and then see if you can tie those into Java

Trying to export iMovie to youtube and it says lost communication with internet. I am on the internet?

I get a lost communication prompt when i export to youtube.
Also for another project I get no head room?

I've tried everything, including exporting to Quicktime with the settings suggested by youtube...nothing seems to work and I keep getting the same message: Unable to Prepare Project for Publishing. The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (-50)
The original name of the project had parenthesis and I even renamed it so now its just simply "Going Nowhere"

Communication to internet not working after Windows 10 installed

I just upgraded to windows 10 and after installing everything worked fine, then I did a couple of updates today for Windows 10 and then I could not connect to internet either via wifi or hardwire. My connection to the internet would start but then drop off withing a minute. any suggestions?

It could also be problems associated with the service pack reinstalled when you reinstalled - you may need to get service pack two on a disk to bring it up to speed. It may also be that your windows reinstall does not supply the drivers for your NIC, which probably was supplied by the PC manufacturer, or, if your NIC was ever upgraded or replaced, its drivers would not be in your windows reinstall.

Internet Based Client Communication can not be established

Hi,
I have one Primary Site Server and a Database Server. It was only using HTTP connection before. By reading several articles I created PKI environment and made SCCM communicate with a test client via https. I dont have DMZ, so I want to use the existing site
server for both internal and internet clients communication.
To test https communication, I installed MS Project while Client Configuration Manager General properties showed Client Certificate=PKI and Connection Type=Intranet. So obviously it can communicate via https on intranet.
To test HTTPS Communication on Internet side, I entered a public DNS manually on the client computer and deleted DNS records for that PC from DNS. I also editted hosts file on the client by entering sccm.mydomain.com with public ip address. I set firewall to
allow 443 on that public ip address.
I checked and the Client Configuration Manager General properties shows Certificate=PKI and Connection Type=Internet.
First I entered the address https://sccm.mydomain.com from the test client I see a IIS8 Web page. Then, I tried to get a report which shows installed programs on a computer and report result was not reflecting the latest changes I made. So I am not sure whether
https on internet is working or not.
I noticed that Client Configuration Manager Properties Network Tab, Internet Based Management Point (FQDN) is blank. I guess there should be sccm server internet address(sccm.mydomain.com). I installed client manually with the command below meaning
I already entered the internet address for SCCM but IBMP FQDN is blank.
ccmsetup.exe /usepkicert smsmp="sccm2012.mydomain.local" ccmhostname="sccm.mydomain.com" smssitecode="XYZ"
Please advise.
1. How can I test if https working on Internet Side?
2. Is it normal to have Internet Based Management Point (FQDN) as blank?
3. Is there anything wrong with the design I am trying to implement above?

Make sure that your certificate requirement are ok and that your server FQDN is publicly published and available.
You must have an internet FQDN in your client properties. You can enter it manually, use a script or by using the ccmhostnameproperties in your client installation. (as you did)
To test, I usually connect directly on the internet bypassing the corporate network. It's the best test you can made.
Your scenario and troubleshooting steps are fine, you're probably just missing a minor thing.

Job titles: training/elearning design vs graphic design/communications design

Hello everyone,
I realize this is not a typical 'Captivate' quiestion, and I've posed it to some networking groups on LinkedIn, etc., but I wanted to ask it to this niche community as well:
I started out 3 years ago as a Training Documentation Specialist with my current company, but my title and my description need to be updated as the position/role has expanded to include more graphic design and communication (intranet/internet) tasks in the past few years.
I'm just wondering if there are any other members that design training collateral for companies, either in print or via elearning, among other various graphic design and communications work?
So, by design, I mean this person may have influence on the the material but has a background in graphic design as opposed to instructional design.
If there are any members out there with similar roles, I'd like to gain your insight and review job titles and/or descriptions, if possible.

I think that you'll be just fine with the Retina display model - the 13" models, while upgradeable as far as RAM and SSD, don't have processor and graphics cards that are up to speed for photo and video editing. And more and more software (including Adobe Photoshop) is now 'Retina-ready'.
Yes, you're taking a chance on the screen IR - it has been a problem for some people but not for all. LG panels seem to have the more prevalent IR while some Samsung panels are said to have a 'tinting' problem. WIth any luck, you'll get a screen with no IR and no tints.
If you do get a 'bad' screen, you can always, as many people in the discussion you mention have done, just keep returning it until you get a 'perfect' screen.
Had I not purchased my non-Retina late 2011 model in March of this year, I might have been tempted to go down the Retina road. While I agree with you about having trepidation over purchasing a first-generation product, most of the 'issues' with the Retina display models have been 'fixed' with software updates.
I think that you made the right decision for your needs.

Internet Client Not talking to DMZ MP

I am facing issues in communication of Internet Client to my MP sitting in DMZ.
Scenario:
Primary Site 2012
MP, DP role installed Site system in DMZ domain joined.
DMZ talking to DC, and site server, bidirectional.
Installed MP and DP role, with Internet only client, created FQDN, and published FQDN to public DNS
created certs following steps in http://www.systemcenterdudes.com/internet-based-client-management/.
Tried installing client manually in domain, using switches ccmsetup.exe /usePKICert /NoCRLCheck CCMHOSTNAME="MP public FQDN" DNSSUFFIX="public DNS" SMSSITECODE=XXX
When moved the client to open internet, I see below error in locations services.log

Distribution List - Unable to Add Internet Address

All;
I have created a shared Distribution List and when i am trying to add an internet address, it throws me an error
"You do not have auth, for communication method <Internet>".
But SU53 doesn't show any auth. failures. I can access SO15, SO04. What more auth. should i need?
Any light thrown on this discrepancy is greatly appreciated.

Communication services doesn't starts

Hi to all,
I've got a MacBook and I have just upgraded it from Snow Leopard to Lion.
Now, often, it's impossible to access to network services (Wi-Fi, TCP/IP), bluetooth,...
In the bar at the top of the screen, after login, doesn't apper any icon relevant to bluetooth, netwotk (wi-fi and wired), battery status, time and so on. Onòly the Finder menu appears.
But one time every a dozen of restarts all it's ok. But if I shutdown the system I don't know if the next time it starts normally.
Why this? What can i do?
I urgent for communications with internet. Now I'm using another computer.

This issue is related to Network Connection Status Indicator, which is reponsible for detecting Internet connectivity status using an active probe. Please check if the probe is enabled.
HKLM\ SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator
Value: EnableActiveProbing (DWORD) defaults to 1, Set this value to 0 will disable active probes.
Or Expand Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Internet Communication Management\ Internet Communication settings.
In the details pane, double-click Turn off Windows Network Connectivity Status Indicator active tests, and then click Enabled.

Fios TV access to non Verizon Internet

How can I get my Verizon Fios TV to interact with a non Verizon Internet?
I currently have Charter Communications for Internet Service.

It will still work just fine. You need to make sure your Verizon internet router is still hooked up. Even though you dont have internet service, the router is still needed. The TV uses the Verizon router for program guide, video on demand, and widgets.
