Hello,
I dont' know whether i am posting correct place or not. If it not correct please correct me where i have to post thread. I installed successfullly B1DE 2005b1sp01 1.3 version. I am using sap 2007 B PL 08. while i try to make the add on using B1DE System giving error "DI API dll not found at C:\Program files\SAP\SAP Business One\DIAPI\2005\SAPbobsCOM2005.dll. please reinstall B1DE and enter the correct B1 installation path."
Please help to come out this error

Hello Vidhuroo,
You have posted on the correct forum. However, I believe your issue is due to the version miss match. Find a new B1DE version supporting your B1 to install.

B1DE Installer compatibility with Windows Vista

Hi All,
We are developing an add-on for SAP Business One 2005B.
While testing the add-on on Windows Vista we noticed that the Add-on installer created using the the professional installer of B1DE hangs during installation.
i.e. - After registering the Add-on in SAP Business One, when we restart SAP Business One, the install routine does start but hangs during the installation process.
We are using Version 1.2 of B1DE.
Can some one please help us with this situation.

Hi Pankaj,
Vista is not currently supported for either the B1DE or SAP Business One. Therefore, even if you could get the add-on to install, you couldn't get support from SAP if you come across any issue.
I expect SAP will bring out a service pack or a patch for running SBO on Vista and a new version of the B1DE will emerge about the same time. Until then, I'm afraid you'll have to stick to XP.

Problem in B1DE Installation

I have installed B1DE and got the message "Sucessfully Installed" But when i Open VS.net 2003 , B1-Addon Template is not available when i select the New project(Vb.net/ C#). But in Help file says as given below.
1. Open the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET environment.
2. Choose New Project.
3. Select the Visual Basic project type and the SAP B1 AddOnInstaller .NET Wizard template. Show
4. Enter a name for your installer project and select a location. The installer's .exe file inherits its name from the project.
Please help me to solve the above Issue?

Another person had a similar problem when having VS.NET installed in another disk than B1DE or B1. Is this your case?

Otherwise you can follow the steps in the thread bellow and copy the templates inside VS.NET by hand.

B1DE installer = signature problem

Hi all,
Sorry to bother you and I really did read dozens and dozens of entries in this forum about this already, but to no avail.
I've been running a vb6 created addon for a while (it even runs nicely in debug mode and in 2004 with new license key). Now I'm deploying it against an sbo2005 using the B1DE. The deployment now finally works, but I cannot get the addon running: wrong digital signiture according to sbo.
The .ard file is recreated <b>several</b> times, version of vb6 executable file is 1.4.0.0 as well as vb.net installer version created through b1de in VS2005 is 1.4.0.0. Ard file generator has as input in batch file version 1.4.0.0, in sari table entry in common-db is created with version 1.4.0.0. When I look at properties of .exe file of final installer in windows it reads version 1.4.0.0. indeed.
File addonslocalregistration.sbo looks fine as well.
So... why am I still getting problem with signature when I trying to run addon?

Could it be that the AddOnRegDataGen executable isn't the 2005, but the 2004 version?

How to create unistaller through B1DE installer wizard

Dear User,
I have developed an add-on through B1DE code generator wizard and installer wizard, it successfully installs in SAP business one but when i want to uninstall it, i have to remove it manually by deleting *.sbo files and deleting it from SARI table and also from business one add-on folder. Is there any way to automatically create its uninstaller through wizard? like i created installer through installer wizard.

In the ard file generation window (found in SAP business one sdk tools > AddOnRegDataGen.exe), i want to confirm the parameter for install and uninstall. the command line argument for install is /z and for uninstall is /x ? am i right??

Regarding B1DE installation

I have installed B1DE using the setup which i downloaded from this site (sdn) I am using SBO 2005A & i have downloaded B1DE 2005. It has been installed successfully & am able to see in the start menu also. But i am unable to see the same when i am creating new project in VB.NET.. My OS is Windows XP. When i did the same installation in a Windows 2003 server, i am able to see the 3 template wizards in the project type in VB.net.
Will i not be able to do it in Windows XP? Is there any solution for this?

i do not think this may be because of MS-Visual Studio .net 2003 because it supports 2003 and 2005 also...
i think it is of win-xp it self use win- 2003
u r problem will be sloved
or try installing only win-XP with any service pack 1 or 2 this may work

B1DE / Installer ..

Just migrated my development environment to a new PC and i'm having problems generating an addon intsaller ..
I use the wizard in B1DE with the VB B1 Addon Installer .. It asks for my project name and then my executable .. but then aborts with "the template specified cannot be found. Please Check that the full path is correct" .. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the B1DE kit but i'm still having same problem .. Anyone any ideas ? Which path is it talking about ?

Please try looking under the following registry key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SAP Business One Development Environment\SAP Business One AddOnInstaller Wizards]
Within this you should see subkeys for the installer project paths. If you've installed the B1DE using the path defaults then the two installer paths should be:
C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One Development Environment\SAP Business One AddOnInstaller Wizards\SAP Business One AddOnInstaller .NET Wizard\
and
C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One Development Environment\SAP Business One AddOnInstaller Wizards\SAP Business One AddOnInstaller Setup .NET Wizard\

B1DE 1.4: unknown error 2869

I can't install B1DE 1.4, give me at the end of installation process an 'unknown error 2869'.
I'm using Windows Vista, with Visual Studio VB 2005 AND Visual Studio C#, SapB1 2007.

Hi,
B1DE installation checks the Namespace lenght you give and blocks installation in case your namespace is more than 4 characters long.
It is recommended to use short Namespaces to avoid length restrictions fixed by B1.
Nevertheless if you have a longer namespace and you don't want to /can change it to a shorter one there is a trick allowing you to use your namespace with B1DE. Just follow the steps here bellow:
1) During B1DE installation give a short Namespace of 3 characters to allow B1 DE installation.
2) After installation just run "regedit" in order to change the value of the namespace used by B1DE.
The registry you have to change is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SAP Business One Development Environment\ => namespace
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SAP\SAP Business One Development Environment\ => namespace
3) Once you have changed the registry value the new namespace entered will be used by B1DE (even if it is longer than 4 characters).
I have just tested it with a small project, if you have any problem with long namespaces in B1DE please post it here.

B1DE (2.1) with VS2010 on Windows 7

Hello all,
for the benefit of others wanting to run this configuration, it works fine. Here's what I did to make it work:
- Download B1DE installer and install (I installed "Just for me", selecting VS2008 as VS version)
- Download B1DE Source Code
- Run VS as admin, and build B1Wizard.sln (this rebuild takes care of an "Index out of bound" error)
- Give "Users" access to modify the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One Development Environment\SAP Business One AddOn Wizard\project templates\ (this allows you to run B1DE as a normal user without elevated privileges)
As a result, B1DE works like a treat for me, on Windows 7 using Visual Studio 2010 running as normal user.

Installer created works fine, on both x86 and x64 clients.
Just had to also give "Modify" permission to the installer template project, in order to create it:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One Development Environment\SAP Business One AddOnInstaller Wizards\SAP Business One AddOnInstaller .NET Wizard\project templates\VS2008\VB\Installer\AddOnInstallerTemplate.vbproj

How to create folder within folder during compile AddOnInstaller setup disk

Hi All,
I tried to create AddOnInstaller using B1DE. When come to Add files portion, I only able to create 1 layer folder to insert my extra file through the wizard. Unfortunately, there are few layer folders in my add on solution such as AddOn\Pic\Icon... etc. Any solution or work around for this issue? Thanks.

Hi Eric,
The autogenerated project obtained from B1DE installer wizard contains all installation code copying your files into the AddOn folder.
You can easily edit the AddOnInstallManager class generated inside your project and modify the method "ExtractFilesToAddOnPath" in order to create sulfolders for your files.
All information you entered in the wizard steps is saved in AddOnInstallInfo class.
If you make the treatment generic enough you will be able to reuse the same class for several installers.
If you feel confortable with installers you could modify the wizard project to accept several folders layers. If not by simply modifyint the AddOnInstallManager class everything will work.

How to make my addon appear on the menuitem list on sap b1 startup?

Hi,
I developed a sample "ui addon" that is supposed to create a new menuitem and display a form when clicked.
I was able to install it using the b1de installation wizard and everything appears to be working...
The problem:
After installing the addon, the only way for it to start is to set the "Default Group", in the "Add-on Admnistration window", to "manual" and than go to the "Add-on Manager" select it from the list and hit "Start" to make it run. The problem is that i have to do this everytime i want the addon to run and what i wanted to know is how to make it start automatically everytime i start sap b1.
I already tried setting the default group to automatic, but sap changes it to manual in the Add-on Manager. Am i doing something wrong?

HI Patricia,
The the user settings, and set the at the user settings to automatic.
The best way is mandatory, if you have any required functionality inside. (this can be set at ard file generation using the Mandatory check box).

Wrong Digital Signature

I have SAP B1 2004 & I developed the addon using VS 2005.While tries to attach the addon in Addon administration it gives me wrong digital signature. The addon was successfully installed in SAP B12005 But it gives me error in SAP B12004.Plz Assist me its urgent. I have tried to created Setup & ard file using both B1DE2003 & B1DE2005. But the error was same......

Hi Manmath,
Every time you recompile your addon code or the installer exe you need to reopen the AddOnRegDataGen application and regenerate the file again (you can open your old one and only press regenerate after).
You can use B1DE installation wizards, they can create for you the complete installer project + a .bat you only have to rerun to regenerate the new ard file everytime you need it.

Wrong Executable Digital Signature for Add-on

Hi All
I have created Addon Installer with the B1DE Installer Setup. After that also use batch file AddOnRegDataGen.bat to Generate Ard File.
After I addon install successfully, BUT when I want to Start it , It Prompts message
"Wrong Executable Digital Signature for Add-on."
i am using SAP b1 2007 and BIDE 1.5.
I have already read all the answers of the SDN and but i my problem didnt solve
I am losing the hopes. Please Help!

Pls don't loose hope.
This is the problem of exe, Actaullt while creating ADDon two files are created,
one is ard and other is exe,
take care about the version of Addon .,Generate all the keys again and see whether the old version of addon is ther or not if there pls remove that carefully .and create the addon again .

Try editing the AddOnRegDataGen.bat and changing the version number to corellate to the setup executable you have created and then execute the batch file to recreate a new ard file.

Make folders visible with images as in Pc?

I've switched from Pc to Mac and I wonder how I can make the folders show the images? As the folders show blank from the outside - so I can't see what is inside! Only after I click on it! Is there away to make images visible in the folders?

Are you regenerating a new installer with B1DE 1.3 or are you upgrading your old installer to VS2005?
If you are regenerating your installer, what kind of error are you having? Do you have a directory in your project called AddOnRegDataGenFile? Can you check the contents of the files is correct (mainly the path and file names)?
The installer.exe is created without problem?
If you are upgrading the installer project:
How are you trying to regenerate the .ard file? Are you using the .bat files autogenerated by B1DE installer wizard?
If it is the case you should check the .bat and .xml files inside the AddOnRegDataGenFile directory of your installer. This files have the complete path of many needed files, if you have moved this files to a different location or changed the name of a directory then the .bat files will not work anymore.
Please check the .bat and .xml contents, specially the paths and file names.
