B320 bluetooth software

If someone could tell me what is the name of this software that is on the picture.
Bluetooth device management, I don't have it on my system or it doesn't work.

The display is the response to clicking on the Device Manager icon on the desktop of my B520.
It also shows the status of the bluetooth devices (kybd & mouse) immediately after boot-up.

When I upgraded from windows 7 to 8 it reported that bluetooth driver was not compatible.  The keyboard and mouse did work so I thought the generic would work.
Yesterday I tried to connect to a pair of bluetooth earphones and 8 cannot find them when is scans.  They work fine on a samsung galaxy tab so should I assume it is just the upgrade syndrome or is there some trick I've overlooked to scanning with 8.  I open devices and ask it to scan.  I also went to charms and search and did bluetooth and search.

    hi exscentric,
As per checking the parts on the Lenovo B320., It seems that you have a BCM92070 BT2.1 EDR bluetooth module
It's possible that the stock Windows 8 bluetooth drivers might not support HSP (headset profile)
To resolve this, can you try to install one of the following:
    Broadcom WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software Drivers
    Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit)
    Version : 12.0.0.1464
BCM Bluetooth V1901 Driver (Liteon, Cybertan)
    Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit)
    Version : 12.0.0.1673(12.0.0.1901)
    Let me know your findings.
    Cheers

  • New Version 4.0 Bluetooth Software (SP2)

Found the following news.  As stated it works under SP2 as well.  Will owners of the Btoes Dongle be getting this update?  Maybie a mod, admin or someone from MSI can answer this.
    Quote
Broadcom® Upgrades Market Leading WIDCOMM® Bluetooth® Software With Enhanced Security, CD-Like Wireless Stereo Sound and New Profiles
New Release of Industry's Most Widely Deployed Bluetooth Software Also Features Support for Microsoft® Windows XP®-SP2
IRVINE, Calif., Nov 1, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM), a leading provider of highly integrated semiconductor solutions enabling broadband communications, today announced WIDCOMM® BTW 4.0, the new release of its popular Bluetooth® software, enhancing security and adding advanced audio/video (A/V) capabilities to the industry's most widely adopted Bluetooth software. The new software was tailored and optimized for seamless integration with Broadcom® single-chip Bluetooth solutions and enhanced with important security upgrades for enterprise and small office customers. It was also tested and qualified for native support and seamless operation with Microsoft's recently announced Service Pack 2 upgrade for the Windows XP® operating system (Windows XP-SP2).
Wireless, high quality stereo audio headsets and speakers enabled by the new WIDCOMM BTW (Bluetooth for Windows) 4.0 software is an exciting new application expected to drive widespread Bluetooth adoption for consumers over the coming years. A/V enhancements built into BTW 4.0 software will bring a new level of audio quality to wireless headsets, enabling a generation of products capable of delivering CD-like stereo sound without the need for wires. The same A/V Bluetooth profile support can be expected to appear in upcoming consumer electronics products like MP3 players, cellular phones, PDAs, and other appliances.
"BTW 4.0 answers two distinct needs in the Bluetooth space: enhanced security, and the ability to effectively stream high-quality audio to wireless headphones or speakers. It is changing the dynamics of how consumers will experience multimedia content on their PCs," said Ron Wong, Senior Product Line Manager for Broadcom's Bluetooth software products. "Broadcom's unique ability to design and deliver all the critical technology pieces for next-generation wireless electronic devices enables our partners to bring products to market quickly and with features that hold great appeal for consumer markets."
    BTW 4.0 Enhances Security
Bluetooth has established itself as the clear wireless PAN (Personal Area Network) technology of choice in large corporations as well as small and home office environments. Leading PC OEMs are already shipping Bluetooth in a large number of their commercial notebook PCs and are expecting continuous growth and accelerated adoption into 2005. With this rapid adoption, large enterprises have expressed growing concerns over security and software virus spreads. The new WIDCOMM BTW4.0 software incorporates enhanced security capability to help address these concerns. Broadcom implemented unique software functionality and tested it to ensure a higher level of security, to meet the expectations of the most demanding customers and bolster the software against malicious attacks.
    New Software Transforms A/V
PC OEMs have come to appreciate the flexibility of embedding Bluetooth into their desktop and notebook computers to connect wirelessly with mobile phones and PDAs. Wireless mice and keyboards are taking advantage of the technology as well, offering valuable freedom and convenience to consumers. These same advantages are now enabled for stereo headsets and speakers with Broadcom's new BTW 4.0 software. Wireless headsets or speakers enabled with Broadcom Bluetooth technology can stream high quality sound while also performing remote control functions such as pausing or stopping play, and selecting tracks. In addition, consumers can place wireless speakers in all corners of the room, enabling enhanced sound and audio distribution for DVD and CD playback.
    New Features and Profiles
Broadcom's WIDCOMM BTW 4.0 incorporates the latest software "profiles," which ensure a common set of features between two Bluetooth devices. Bluetooth profiles are developed and standardized through the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). BTW 4.0 features many of the latest profiles, which provide advanced multimedia capabilities including:
         *  GAVDP -- Generic Audio Video Distribution Profile
         *  A2DP -- Advanced Audio Distribution Profile
         *  AVRCP -- Audio Video Remote Control Profile
BTW 4.0 also supports the Basic Imaging Profile, which provides the ability to "push" and "pull" images wirelessly between a mobile phone or digital camera and a PC. In addition, the new software release was designed to work seamlessly with Broadcom's BCM2035 and BCM2045 single-chip Bluetooth solutions. It was tested and qualified to work seamlessly with Microsoft's latest operating system update, Windows XP-SP2, thereby ensuring forward compatibility to PC OEMs and end-users as they upgrade to this latest operating system.
End users can be assured that as increasingly advanced Bluetooth A/V applications gain adoption, Broadcom's BTW software will enable a richer and more secure user experience.
    Availability
Broadcom's WIDCOMM BTW 4.0 software is currently shipping to Broadcom's early access partners.

  • T400 - Bluetooth Software - Unattended Install instructions/procedure required.

    Hi all,
This is technically not a problem but an information request.
I need the info because it will save me making a more clunky solution and I know that it exists because the factory preload must have used SOME method to get this working automatically.
I know I have written a lot but its all relevant and I dont want someone from Lenovo to have to ask me three times for missing info so I have listed everything.
    BASIC SCENARIO
    ThinkPad T40 [6474-R1U]
    Windows XP Corp w/ SP2 <NOT THE FACTORY PRELOAD OR A DERIVATIVE>
I have two T400 "prototypes" to work with in making the current corporate image work on this platform.
One has the test corporate image and one has the XP factory preload installed on it.
The SATA, sysprep, drivers, webcam-reboot-issue, etc have all been fixed and its gotten to a point where the Device Manager is clean as a whistle and no errors.
I am not new to this as our corporate image is my sole responsibility and it works perfectly on 7 different hardware platforms, 4 of which are laptops.
At the end of the re-image, the following software will be "silently" installed in the specified order ONLY if the system is detected to be a 6474-class Lenovo.
        [1] ACPI Power Management                    SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    N/A
        [2] Hotkey Utility                           SETUP.EXE /S         N/A
        [3] Lenovo System Interface Driver           SETUP.EXE /S         N/A
        [4] Keyboard Customizer Utility              SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    [1] & [2]
        [5] Presentation Director                    SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    [1] & [2] & [3]
        [6] ThinkVantage Access Connections          SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    [1] & [2]
        [7] Power Manager                            SETUP.EXE -S -SMS    N/A
[8] Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate Software    N/A                  N/A
All drivers are from Lenovo, the second field is the silent install command line and the third is the dependency table.
    BASIC PROBLEM
As you can see, I dont have a method to do the silent install of the Bluetooth software.
I have tried SETUP.EXE -S -SMS and SETUP.EXE /S in the main folder and the Win32 sub-folder of the driver folder but no dice.
It doesnt do anything and leaving it sitting there for a while and then rebooting doesnt show the Bluetooth software installed after the reboot so I know it isnt working.
The SETUP.EXE -S -SMS switch is common to all software that uses InstallShield for installation as opposed to Lenovo proprietary software which uses the /S switch and the Bluetooth sofware DOES use InstallShield but the silent switch doesnt work.
The link on the website for the Bluetooth driver software is the ONLY driver I encountered that didnt list a silent method of installing it and there is no SW1.XML file in the driver folder either. I am pretty sure that the SW1.XML file is the file that the factory preload uses to install software after the PCI device enumeration.
Doing it manually [Setup.exe,Next,Next, etc,Finish] works like a charm and doesnt even require a reboot as the drivers were automatically installed during the Mini-Setup portion after the sysprep/re-image.
The best option would be for someone from Lenovo to let me know the command I need to run to get the silent option to install the Bluetooth software.
A secondary option would be for Lenovo to help me with the following in terms of procedure or just giving me the CMD files mentioned below.
On the laptop that has the factory preload, the swtools folder contains the drivers installed on that model and it has the same Bluetooth driver as on the website in that it has no SW1.XML or unattended information.
I came across the following file in its root folder which has some interesting info: c:\swtools\modules.log
Almost at the beginning are these entries
? evaluating filters for 4gglw6a1 - thinkpad bluetooth software for helike
    ? - filter returned true
? filter expression result is true
? evaluating filters for 4glth2a1 - thinkpad ms bluetooth inf for helike - copy only - lc
    ? - filter returned true
? filter expression result is true
searching for blue, the following entries much later in the file reference the ones above....
    Thu 12/11/2008 23:04:28.84 Starting c:\swwork\other\4gglw6a1.cmd
    ThinkPad Bluetooth Software for Helike
    Thu 12/11/2008 23:06:12.29 Finished c:\swwork\other\4gglw6a1.cmd
    Thu 12/11/2008 23:16:21.34 Starting c:\swwork\network\4glth2a1.cmd
ThinkPad MS Bluetooth INF for Helike - Copy Only - LC
    Thu 12/11/2008 23:16:21.46 Finished c:\swwork\network\4glth2a1.cmd
Obviously having these CMD files at hand would be nice but the folder swwork referenced there doesnt exist as it was probably deleted after the preload process was completed.
I have a Ghost image of the factory preload when its "fresh" on the hard drive and hasnt been booted up even once.
I made it right after I slapped the pre-load on but before I booted it the first time.
I can re-image that laptop with that image and pause it before the deletion of that folder if it would help in me seeing the file in DOS [Winternals Remote Recover] but I would still need to know when to stop it, etc.
    Thanks in advance. :-)

So to be clear what command-line did you use for
[8] Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate Software    N/A                  N/A
And what setup file? How do you activate BT when you can't activate it with FN+F5 when you receive a new machine and you must deploy an image on it?
    Is it this:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70443.html#bluetooth
    v5.5.0.5800 from 29 jan 2009
I see that there is a Bluetooth Support File v1.00 from 2 june 2008 that is also needed or not? It's in the Vista categorie but when you open it, you can see in the readme file that there is also an explanation to install on xp

  • How to get and install the new MSI Bluetooth Software Package 1.4.3.3.

How to get and install the new MSI Bluetooth Software Package 1.4.3.3.
This little FAQ will only cover the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software Package.
First thing too do is unistall any older version of the MSI Bluetooth Software.
Do this through the Add/Remove program applet in your control panel.
There seams too be only through Live update you could get the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software Package.
If you can't see any enter for MSI Bluetooth Software in the Live driver section of Live update then you have too enter the following too your registry.
Create following code in Notepad and save it as MSILD.reg, then run the file.
    ;-->Code start
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MSI\Drivers\MSI Bluetooth Software]
    "DrvSetup"="1"
    "Version"="1.4.2.10"
    ;-->Code end
Rerun the Live update and hopefully you will now see a entry for MSI Bluetooth Software in Live driver section.
Install the new version of MSI Bluetooth Software and reboot your computer. Even if the setup program doesnt told you too doit.
After rebooting the computer you will see the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. If it's Red then try too start the Bluetooth services by right click on the try icon and the only alternetiv there is.
If the Bluetooth services is asking for a valid licens.dat then you should do the following.
Surf to Jon's Bluetooth guide http://www.jonsguides.com./bluetooth/prepare.html and download the patcher from the link there.
Unzip the the patcher and then run the BTWPatcher.exe program.
Now the Bluetooth services will start and you will bee able too configure your own settings for the Bluetooth services.
If nothing of this work you could try the complete Bluetooth solution at Jon's gudie and install the IBM version of the same program. I havent test this solution and will not do soo.

I have the MS-6968 device and i want to use driver 1.4.x or 3.0.x. I found the driver 1.4.2.10 but i cannot find any WIDCOMMSecurity code.
So, can anyone give me a link for BTWPatcher.exe???
It cannot be found here (Jon's Bluetooth ) anymore.
    Thanks

    Thank u
    Mou....

You should check if your lappy has built-in Bluetooth. If it's there, open control panel-> bluetooth-> options-> enable visibility, so you can pair with your phone. You don't need additional software. All the Bluetooth stacks are Vista drivers. You can also buy a Bluetooth dongle. Their cheap and well supported in Vista.

    Hello Keslptp,
Are your blue Tooth drivers updated? I would suggest that step first, then if the problem still is around I would then un-install and then re-install the Bluetooth driver.
If you could post back and let me know how it is coming let me know and I will be more then happy to take the next step with you if these solutions don't work.

    hiya!
hmmmmm. it's plausible that you're got another installer process "jammed on" on the PC, and that is interfering with the itunes install. (saw a bit of that with Logitech QuickCams in the early days of itunes 6.0.x.)
let's try applying the following technique, and trying the itunes install again:
