B460 lost WiFi adaptor after Win 7 professional upgrade??

Got a new B460, WiFi once worked in Win 7 home but after upgrade to Win 7 professional, I can no longer see anything related to WiFi, i.e. when I press Fn+F5, I only see the "bluetooth" icon (hardware button on), and also under Device Manager -> Network adaptors, there's only the Gigabit Ethernet Controller.  Wired connection works fine, just that everything associated with WiFi seems to be lost.  Anyone any clue??  Anyone can help?  Appreciated very much!

let me ask that, if you don't have any disk, how come did you upgrade your operation system?
run one key theater to burn recovery disks so you can use.
or just shut down your computer and press one key recover button to perform clean windows installation.
you can download drivers from here ( check your d volume for drivers )

  • Portege Z930: Loss of Fn keys after Win 8 upgrade - cannot turn WiFi on/off

After many months biding my time I have just embarked upon upgrading my Portege Z930-11G to Windows 8 Pro.
Largely this has gone to plan with the exception that after running the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant I've lost the Fn key display and about half the keys no longer seem to function at all.
The only key I ever used routinely is the Fn+F8 option to turn WiFi on/off.
So now I cannot enable the WiFi on the machine.
There must, surely, be a mean to do this but I can't find it. Does anyone have a suggestion? I'm OK for now as I have a wired LAN in the house but once I get out on the road I'm going to struggle without WiFi.
Before running the upgrade assistant the Fn key brought the key display up across the top of the screen and I surely wish I'd turned WiFi on at that point.
The Fn key utility offers very little control of the Fn keys. It does not offer the ability to do anything other than disable five on screen notifications for keyboard backlight, power plan, touch pad, cursor overlay and numeric overlay.
    All help gratefully received.
    Andrew

    > So now I cannot enable the WiFi on the machine.
First of all you can enable and disable the WiFi using function key but you can also enable the WLan in Windows 8 settings
    Win key + C -> Settings -> Change PC settings -> Wireless
Now you can use the wireless devices slider to enable or disable the WLan.
But to get the FN key working you have to install the +Toshiba Function Key Utility+ for Win 8 and +Toshiba System Driver+ for Win 8

  • Amd video drivers not working after win 10 upgrade

AMD video drivers not working after win 10 install. running on microsoft basic driver, call hp smartfriend assistance. appearently there is a fix but hp will not help unless i pay 100.00$ US because the warranty has expired on my notebook.Have a pavilion dv7 was running AMD Mobility Radeon HD5000 series. Thank you hp will not be purchasing an hp product again.  Alienware here i come.

Not much we can do since your model is not supported by Toshiba for Win 10 upgrade according to THIS list so there is no Win 10 driver for your TouchPad. That button, however, is not the only way to disable/enable the TouchPad.  FN+F9 does it and you can fix it where, when you plug in an external mouse, it will automatically be disabled.

  • Satellite L855-124 can't change display brightness after Win 8 upgrade

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite L855-124 PSKACE laptop.
After upgrading to Windows 8, I can't change the brightness backlight of the laptop screen.
There seems to be an error in the graphical driver.
When I install the Windows 7 graphical AMD driver under compatibility, it works again but bugs out on other areas.
    Anyone have any ideas?
Even after using the upgrade assistant provided by Toshiba it does nothing.
Also the drivers for my laptop are poorly updated. Dating back to 2012.
I have also called tech support, they told me that a driver team will be fixing the issue.
    That was 2 months ago.
Is there anyone from Toshiba that can help me with this please?
    Thank you.

  • Qosmio F60 - No additional touchpad and Fn function after Win 8 upgrade

I recently installed Windows 8 on my Qosmio F60 and now I have some issues, I think it might be driver related but not sure which drivers in particular.
    1. The touchpad still works for moving the pointer but swiping along the right edge doesn't scroll anymore, I have had a look on the drivers webpage but cant find which driver I need it install to make this work. Also does anyone know if there is a Windows 8 driver so that i can swipe the edge to bring up the charms and switch tabs?
    2. The FN keys no longer work so i can't control the brightness or the other functions along the top row of the keyboard.
If anyone can help with either of these issues that would be great.
    Thanks,
    Phillip

    Hi
As you can see there are no special Win 8 drivers fro the Qosmio F60 series.
    Its not Win 8 supported.
However, I think you should be able to use the Win 8 upgrade drivers released for Qosmio F750.
    Try it.
Recommend installing the touchpad driver (from Synaptics), the Toshiba Function Key Utility, Value Added Package and Toshiba System Driver

  • After win 10 upgrade what to do with win 7 free upgrade disk

Is the windows 7 free upgrade that i got when i bought my l305-s5946 somehow linked with the windows 10 upgrade, or can i use it to upgrade a different toshiba laptop from vista to win 7 with out any problem.any info on this would be helpful. I bought a fixerupper laptop (same model), bought the vista recovery disks and was told that the free win 7 upgrade for that model was no longer available, so, i would realy like to upgrade it to win 7 if possible, with the upgrade that i already have that is not being used now.thanks

Try cleaning the lens and see if that will restore functionality to the DVD drive.  Use a DVD lens cleaning disk, if you have a can of compressed air, shoot some into the slot or wrap a fine microfiber cloth (eyeglasses cleaning cloth)  around a business card and insert it gently inside the slot.
If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and get a free diagnosis from them.
    Ciao.

  • Satellite P870 - WiFi issues after Win 8.1 upgrade

    Internet through wireless is hopeless.
Maybe 3 in 10 pages will load correctly or not at all, mostly not at all.
Other wireless devices in the house are fine, as is using the Ethernet .
Checked the drivers through the device manager, says they are up to date.
However using the toshiba service station it lists 12 updates including one for the Realtek wireless driver.
The date of release definitely after the current installed version.
Trying to update through the service centre it completes and then comes up with an error message, something like process ended by the user.
Of course I never ended anything.
    Any ideas/thoughts? Just uninstall 8.1?
    Though I would rather not.

Did you follow the Win 8.1 installation instruction?

I'll this model ever be contemplated in toshiba upgrade assistant?
I'm asking because i've already upgraded to Windows 8 but i lost NERO which came with Windows 7.
It is possible to get it from any where else with the same conditions?
    Thanks,
    LP

Yes, that was the problem! I made a clean install of Windows 8...and Nero...puf...:D
I don't like upgrades, normaly they give problems. I prefer clean installations, but this is the price to pay...I tried to find it from the swm Toshiba images but no luck...

  • Lost wifi sensitivity after upgrade

I live in a fairly large house. Since I upgraded to 3.0 on my iphone 3g, in areas that were marginal before, I have no reception from my Dlink 655 router.
    Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep, same here. I posted similar thread today. This is totally crap.
Anyone else have a solution or do we have to wait for the next upgrade?

  • MOVED: Lost Wifi adapter after upgrading win8 to win8 pro!

This topic has been moved to MSI Notebooks & Netbooks.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=177255.0

You should be using the "Best for Display" settings for ordinary displays, like the ones you are using.
Only wacky huge displays, where the pixels are way too small (like retina Displays or 4K displays) use "Scaled" resolutions, and they do multiple unstated tricks: Graphics are displayed at the full native resolution of the display, and text is doubled or scaled so that it is extra-big -- otherwise it would be so tiny you could not read it.
So ignore "scaled" and use "best for Display".
And as far as having seventeen different resolution settings, well they figured out that if you paid for the top resolution, that "best for display" is what you almost always wanted, so why bother even showing the others.

  • Can't access OS X shared folder after Win 8 upgrade

I have a Mountain Lion Mac and a Win 7 PC with folder sharing over wifi for many months. After the Win 8 upgarde last night, the Mac still can read and write the shared PC folder, but not vice versa. PC sees Mac as a network drive, but it keeps saying the user name/password is incorrect, which of course is not true. I tried deleting, changing and recreating account names/passwords on Mac, refreshing WINS setting, using IP address instead of name, remote sharing, enabling discovery, firewalls, etc., but nothing worked. Maybe a Win8 bug since Win7 worked fine? Or a security feature on OS X? Also, PC adds a domain name (the machine's name) in front of the account name (e.g. lance0406-pc\lance) which may give Mac the wrong account? I can't get rid of the domain even after changing my sign-in to the local computer. It's a home computer, so there is no domain. Any insight is helpful. Thanks.

Same situation here... but I think it's not an Apple Issue.
I found a problem really similar to this in 2008 with the DNS-313 and the old Leopard O.S.
Have a look at this thread (in this thread I am "tourniquet"):
    http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-554245.html
The problem was really similar because with the finder you couldn't navigate but with the terminal (or with muCommander) you had no problem!
As you can see, the problem was that the Finder couldn't manage the "Unix Extensions" option, set to ON in the Samba Server on the DNS-313 (we had the firmware 1.0 then).
D-Link solved the issue later, with a firmware upgrade that disabled this "Unix Extensions" option so... couldn't it be possible that now Lion require this option to be set to ON again?!?!
I will try this evening (10 hours from now, I'm Italian) enabling the unix extensions on the Samba Server of the DNS-313 (gaining an access to the 313 by telnet) and I will let you know if I sort this issue out.
    Greetings

  • Lost text messages after ios 8 upgrade

I recently upgraded my iphone 5 to ios 8 through  iTunes on my PC. After the upgrade, I  lost all of my text messages and many  of my photos on my photostream. My photos were backed up, so I'm not as worried about that. Is there any way to recover the lost text messages?

    Same here.
    Haven't found a solution yet.

  • Wifi printing after Mountain Lion upgrade, "printer not connected" error

I have Canon MP610 printer.  Was getting error message "Looking for printer" or "Printer not connected" after upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.  Printing works fine when I directly plug in USB cord to MacBook Pro to print. However, on the wifi network, no luck.  Today I have upgraded Canon's latest driver, reset the printer system, deleted printers from system icon in System Preferences, added new printer back in..... Nothing.
I have reset Time Capsule, where my printer USB is currently plugged into.
    Nothing.
Please advise what to try next...??

AirPort Utility 5.6 is available at AirPort Service and Support.
5.6 doesn't work with Mountain Lion, so am I stuck?
I already had AirPort Utility 5.6 on a Lion machine and upgraded to Mountain Lion with no issues. AirPort Utiliy 5.6 works fine as does AirPort Utility 6.1.
But, I did not try to download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 since it was already on the Mac.
Please try again and report on your results.
