B570e Battery Suddenly Dead

Hello All
I have a B570e with Li-Ion Bty (8-cells) for almost two years now. The battery was working fine till yesterday (giving me 2.5 hours of video play-back on battery).
But last night the laptop INSTANTLY turned off (No warning/power-low warning) as if someone pulled the plug.
When I tried to switch it on by pressing the power button, there was no response.
When I connected power adopter, the CHARGING indicator switches on, and the Laptop turned on.
But battery status is STUCK at 57%. It says PLUGGED-IN, NOT CHARGING.
I removed the battery for an hour, and reconnected. Still the same response.
The laptop works fine when AC power is connected and battery inserted. But neither the battery shows low-power status neither the battery indicator turns ORANGE from WHITE.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx

Hi xishan,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry that the computer turned OFF automatically and the battery is getting charged till 57%, please install the LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) and below is the link to download it, then by choosing the (Optimized Battery Health), the Battery charges only to 60% or lesser and stops charging the battery and then it take its power from the charger, so if you want to charge the battery to 100%, you need to choose (Maximum Battery Life).
Lenovo Energy Management Software for Windows 7 (32-bit)
Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue still persists.
Best Regards

  • W500 9cells battery suddenly dead. No previous warning.

I know batteries gets wear over time, and that once should be exchange, but I believe that a suddenly dead is not normal
Up to yesterday, batterie has been working good, and after aprox 400 charging cycles baterie was performing quite good (more than 1 hour of batterie). Mostly with charging cicles from 55% to 75%.
Today, suddenly, running on batterie on about 40% to 45% the computer got turnned off, plugen in, turning again, message was clear: your battery condition is poor and WILL NOT CHARGE AT ALL (not exact those words)
is that way definitelly a dead batery?
nothing to be done? even as a "SAI" batterie ?
    best regards!!
    and happy holidays

Sure it is the battery, a second battery works without issues in the same computer
About SAI, sorry, SAI is spanish, I meant UPS. And as a  most of the time, I have the laptop pluged in. So, a battery that would lask matter of minutes would be enough to avoid unexpected loss of power (and to avoid daily wear of the second battery)
I presume that if the cotrol circuit fail, there is nothing to do with that battery, even the cells have half life trough ...

  • X200 battery suddenly dead

Disapointingly  the 9 cell battery of my x200 (FRU 42T4540, serial number 1251, Sanyo) is now dead. The power manager reports a current capacity of 74 Wh (out of an original capacity of 84 Wh) and says it is 100% charged but with "no activity". If I disconnect the power supply the computer immediatly powers off.  If I tell the power manager to do a battery reset, the laptop also powers off. The battery has 194 cycles which maybe is an average number of cycles to show some degradation, but I wouldn't expect the battery to be reported as healthy and 5 min later to be completely useless.
I have owned several thinkpads and although I had seen batteries going bad with time, I had never experienced this kind of sudden dead. Is this normal?
    Thank you in advance

I did a quick check at the outlet.

  • Battery half-dead at 39 cycles. Apple refuses to exchange battery!!

    Hello people,
I'm really in need for some advice..
I've got Core2Duo MBP, purchased at June 2007.
My battery suddenly died on me at 39 cycles.
I called Apple only to find out, that my MBP doesn't fall under certain battery-replacement program!!
Obviously, I'm out of warranty as well..
Am I stuck with dead battery? Or is there anything I can do about it?
I spoke to Apple representative, but she acted like a zombie, repeating same words over and over again: "Your computer doesn't fall under battery replacement program, since only Core Duo laptops are subjects to... etc."
What can I do?? I'm frustrated... First there was that screen issue (I was left notebookless for almost 1.5 month), then it's this.

  • Computer dies Randomly (Battery also dead) [PICS]

I have had my 3000 N100 Thinkpad for around 2 years now and after a year and a half I realised the Battery was no longer charging, soon after this happened my Laptop would just die randomly, when I say die I mean there is no shutdown screen  it is as iff all power to the p.c. suddenly stopped.
At first I though it must be a Virus but after numerous scans and re-installing Windows the problem re-occured, Today I opened the P.C. and checked the fan as I thought maybe it was over heating and eventually giving in, I was relieved to see a load of dust and used the vacumn to clear the fan.
I thought that would fix the problem but now if anything it seems worse, I know the battery is dead as the charge level is 0 and the battery indicator on the front of the laptop flashes 5 times organge before disappears completely...
In a Final attempt I have disconnected the battery completely and am now running it only on the power adapter, I don't know if this will work but I need to do something...
What could cause a problem like this, all of my settings are correct my power settings are set to always on with no hibernation.
    Any help will be wonderful.
    Thanks

    Solved!

    DrunkenNija,
    Welcome to the forum!
As others may have suggested, I would start with replacing the battery.    You can click on the battery icon and check to see if it shows charging and what percent charge.
If it shows not charging, then I would say the battery is dead and would suggest ordering a replacement.
I hope to see you around the forum.

  • My iPad volume is suddenly dead, I checked the settings everything is ok there, My iPad volume is suddenly dead, I checked the settings everything is ok there

My iPad volume is suddenly dead even though the settings show everything is ok and on full volume.
    Please help....

And you checked the music app to make sure that you have no sound in any app at all, including keyboard clicks, email and app notifications and everything that uses sound on the iPad - correct?
If you have nothing - not sound anywhere - reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you have sound in the music app, but nowhere else, system sounds are muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • MacBook Battery seems dead

Got an Intel based MacBook (black) on 11/2006. Always worked very fine, no problem.
10 days ago, while working on the Windows XP side through BootCamp, the battery came to a sudden end. I shut down the computer and forgot about it since I've been traveling ever since.
2 days ago I got the magsafe charger connected, but the light would stick to green and no battery charge whatsoever happened. The Macbook works only when connected to the power source through the magsafe.
I tried all suggestions I could find on the Apple support blog. No success. I believe the battery is dead.
Still it looks quite strange: no warning came before the battery died. The Mac just suddenly quit working, after which I just closed the lid and left it alone for more than a week.
Any idea anybody? I'm convinced I gotta get a new battery. I have no Apple Care service, so think I'll have to buy one myself.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Just started having this problem with my girlfriends 1.5 yr old MacBook (purchased Jan 07). X in the menu, battery not recognized. Must be a dead battery because it works when I use the battery from my Macbook. Don't believe it when people tell you that apple will replace your battery for free. She was on the phone for about 1.5 hrs getting double talk from apple. Apple will not replace the battery for free but they will sell her one. Looks like they cost $129 from apple. Found a better deal for $89 at http://www.brilliantstore.com/applelaptop_batteries_dekcell_bl_5870_whitereplacement.html
Needless to say she is upset with apple and talking about going back to using a PC. Her 5 yr old Toshiba laptop still has a working battery. So much for apple products being superior.

  • Lenovo IdeaPad Z410 Battery Suddenly Drops From 100% to 0%

I have had my Lenovo IdeaPad Z410 since around January, and I have just recently expierienced the problem of the battery dropping to zero. What happens is my battery will be draining at a normal pace then all of a sudden my laptop will shut down and will not go back on as it thinks the battery is dead. If it is plugged when this happens then the orange battery low light will begin flashing and the message goes from saying "Fully charged (100%)" to "1% remaining (plugged in, charging)". This is quite annoying as I cannot take my laptop anywhere without fear of it randomly dying on me. I would assume I wouldn't need a new battery after only having the laptop for a few months. Also, if you are not familiar with this model, the battery is built in internally so I cannot try removing it and putting it back in myself. Any advice would be appreciated; I'd rather not deal with Lenovo's customer support unless I absolutely have to.

    hi LordMothim,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Based from your findings, it's possible that:
    - the battery circuit inside is not working to unload the charge, or
    - one of the battery cells have already reached its life span
    - the chip that handles how the battery gets charge/discharge and checks the charge level of each battery cell (both are controlled by a firmware) is malfunctioning.
Batteries degrade overtime due to heat and daily use. If you're still under warranty, I recommend you contact lenovo and report the issue as you most likely need a replacement battery.

Did you try to charge it using the adapter or your computer?
If you can, let it charge for about 15min, then connect in recovery mode, described in this article:

  • My battery went dead and I had to plug it in. after several hours I went back to it and it is has an icon that is saying plug in and itunes.  It won't do anything else- nothing. I can't turn it off or or on and I have no access to my phone.

my battery went dead- I plugged in it.  several hours later I went back to it and it wasn't on. instead the only thing on the screen was a picture of the plug in and the icon itunes on top of it.  I have no idea what that means.  My phone will not turn on even after I hold both buttons. i was told a while back that the i7 program can mess this up and to hold both buttons down to reboot the phone.  I tried this but even this isn't working.  Any ideas?
