B590 - Switchable Graphics: GF GT720M disabled in Device Manager

Hello to Lenovo community from  a newcomer!
I've bought a B590 and installed a Win 7 64bit
I have installed all available drivers from the support page and have the following issue:
Device Manager:
i see 2 graphics devices
Intel HD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 720M
the discrete card is disabled with error code 43 and has an exclamation mark near it (http://i.imgur.com/pFkjloq.png   sorry my system language is russian)
Moreover, if i start the NVidia Control Panel it gives me an error with text: "current display is not connected to nvidia GP"
GeFoerce Experience is not starting with a back-end error (http://i.imgur.com/AmDkHE0.png)
Now here are the ways i tried to use but it did not help:
1. Enable high performance and update with manually downloaded nvidia driver
2. Do the same with HDMI cble connected to a plasma
3. Disable \ enable the device (screen goes black, than to normal and everything stays the same)
4. Format c: reinstall Win8.1 64 and install all drivers - same thing
5. Format c: reinstall Win7 64  and install the graphics drivers after everything else (h1d9d9.exe h2d903.exe)
6. Update GT720M drivers  from device manager  (driver is up to date)
7. Run a high-performance 3D game (War Thunder)  - it uses Intel HD
What else can i do?
I saw people with switchable graphics use some kind of application to specify the game-apps that should use a discrete videocard. I don't have such an app to specify my games.
Any idea?

hi sweennyy,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Can you try under Device Manager Uninstall the Intel Graphcis "make sure to place a check on a prompt saying delete driver software for this device"
After Uninstalling it do the same on the Nvidia Then restart the system.
Try repeating the steps untill the Uninstall prompt does not show a check box  "delete driver software for this device"  anymore.
Do another restart and Install the following in this sequence
1.  Intel Display Driver
2.  NVIDIA Optimus Video Features Driver
See if that works
Hope this helps
Cheers!

  • T440p (Windows 7) - Realtek wireless not working, repeatedly being disabled in Device Manager

    Hi all,
I have a brand new T440p (type 20AN I believe) with a clean Win7 Pro SP1 install and all Windows Updates. Very soon after starting to use it, the wireless started acting strange, it would disable itself out of nowhere. In Device Manager, it shows with a yellow exclamation (it is called 2x2 11b/g/n Wireless LAN M.2 Adapter), and if I go into details, under General -> Device Status, it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
If I right click and Disable, then re-enable, it pauses for a second, looks ok, then the Yellow ! comes back. In the Windows Event Log, it repeatedly logs Warning, Source=WLAN-AutoConfig, Event ID = 10002. The error is WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped. Module Path: C:\Windows\system32\Rtlihvs.dll
I've tried looking for a different driver, and I've uninstalled the driver from the PC completely and reinstalled, but same thing happens. The driver I have is version 2010.6.807.2013, Driver Provider is Realtek Semiconductor Corp, dated 8/7/2013. This is the same driver I found right on the Lenovo support site.
I've also tried switching the adapters on and off using F8.
I have run all necessary/relevant Lenovo updates also, from ThinkVantage Tools -> Update and Drivers. Can't recall if there was a BIOS update. I also ran sfc /scannow and it did not find any issues.
I do not have Access Connections installed. I had tried installing it to see if it made a difference, but it did not.
I found this article which seemed pretty relevant, but no help there, issues are not applicable.
Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Furmann,
what is the type of wireless card in your laptop? I opened a ticket with Lenovo and asked for a brand new wifi card, and they ended up sending an Intel Centrino card (forget the number, maybe 6235?) and I swapped that out, and it has been working fine ever since.

  • X1 USB mouse resumes from standby even though disabled in Device Manager

I don't want mouse movement to resume the X1 from standby (sleep). So I have gone into Win 8.1 Device Manager under power mgt tab and unchecked the box that enables this. However, the X1 still resumes from standby if the mouse is moved.
Is there something else -- like in the BIOS -- that I need to do?

I have also found that keyboard does not seem to be able to wake this computer in any case, even though the box is checked in Device Mgr for keyboard to do so. However, if I uncheck the box for keyboard, then mouse does not wake computer either. It is as though the checkbox in Device manager for the mouse is not relevant. Only the checkbox for keyboard matters as regards the mouse, and the keyboard can't wake the computer regardless.

  • AMD Radeon HD 7690M Graphic Driver is missing from Device Manager

  • T400 switchable graphic problem

    Dear Jhem,
The model of T400 I have is 2768-AA6.
I have some questions on the switchable graphic card function:
1.Under device manager are we suppose to see two GPU installed or just the active one? I can only see the active one. But most ppl around me who have T400 can see both two GPU. Is there anything wrong with my machine?
    2. The automatic hot switchable function is not available at all. I remember the switchable function is that when we use battery the computer can choose integrated graphic card while when we use AC adaptor the computer can switch to discrete graphic automatically. However, no mater what power source I use to power up the computer, the integrated graphic card is selected. The only way I can use ATI graphic card is get into BIOS----->disable switchable function------->select discrete graphic card and then restart computer.
Are these common problem for T400? They make me very unhappy as the most attractive function of this model cannot be use at all.
    Thanks a lot!

    Anyone can help?
    Thanks!

  • Windows 7 64-bit: Switchable graphics and Ricoh card reader problem

    Hi guys,
Two problems with my laptop. I'm using a T400, previously installed with Windows Vista Business 32-bit.
Switchable graphics worked well until I formatted and installed Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (I got the RTM through MSDNAA). Now, Windows can only detect either the discrete graphics or integrated graphics at one time. When the BIOS was set to switchable graphics and enabling the detection of switchable graphics on Windows, it could only detect the Intel integrated graphics. When I try to switch to High Performance graphics through the Lenovo power manager, the screen flashes once, and the ATi graphics card appears on the device manager with the code 10 error (cannot start device). Also, compared to this image, my power manager window that opens with left-click does not have battery stretch and switchable graphics options. I have to right-click to switch my graphics.
After some tinkering, I managed to activate the graphics card through the BIOS by switching it to discrete graphics only and disabling switchable graphics detection by Windows. Now the device manager shows the ATi card only, the Intel integrated graphics is gone. I understand that it should show both display adapters in the device driver when the ATi card is active: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70495.html#g4
The second problem is with the Ricoh card reader. I managed to install the drivers properly, but the device shows up with a code 12 error (This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use) in the device manager. That error appears on 6 items in the device manager:
    Ricoh Memory Stick controller
    Ricoh SD/MMC Host controller
    Ricoh xD-Picture card controller
Ricoh 1394 OHCI Compliant host controller
Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible CardBus controller
SDA Standard Compliant SD host controller
Additionally, 6 error messages appear during every boot up, which I think is related to these 6 devices:
    ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI in slot 07
    Bus:15, Device:00, Function: 00 (it ranges from function 00  to 05)
AND disabling the device through device manager results in a BSOD.
I've seen some people post about the Ricoh problem, but didn't have any resolution (at least for those who had the boot up error message too). The switchable graphics problem seems quite common too but in my case it seems like it is working fine EXCEPT for the fact that only one graphics adapter can appear on the device manager at one time and I can't do switching at all. Anyone know if I can somehow solve this? Sorry for the wall of text and two-problems-in-one. I put them together because I don't know if one problem is affecting the other as both problems appeared at around the same time.

As far as the graphics goes it's well accpeted the only way at present to switch is though the bios manually. There is currently no drivers that enable users to switch from within Win7. Know it's a pain but will just have to wait.

  • Windows 7 RTM x64 Power Manager and switchable graphics not working

Installed Windows 7 RTM x64 on my T400. After windows update and installing Lenovo's drivers, everything is accounted for. ATI graphics works fine, and I can see the Intel graphics on the shortcut menu. I just cannot manually switch to the built-in graphics, nor did I see the Power Manager. What do I need to do? I have installed the drivers for the power management, even though on the list of driver on lenovo's webpage it says it's only for SL models.
    Help would be appreciated.
    Specs:
    T400
    LED
    ATI/Intel switchable graphics
    4Gb

Have you installed the Power manager http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html#powm ?
And after that, make sure you have installed the right driver (the one for switchable graphics): http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html#m8xswitch
    Hope that helps.
I also have Windows 7 Professional x64 on my T400 and everything works fine (i only uses programs and driver from here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html

  • How to disable the Device Password on the Q10

I accidently enabled the Device Manager program on my Q10 and now I have to enter my device password every time I use the phone. The Device Password program is located within the Security and Privacy area but I am unable to turn off the program. Does anyone have any ideas on how to disable this Device Manager?

Thank you for responding to my question. Starting at Settings then select Security and Privacy then slect Device Password and arrive at Device Password screen. At the top of the screen is a slider button to turn on or off the Device Password. The slider is turned on but will not allow me to slide to off. Under the slider are the words" IT policy requires device passwod to be set. Any ideas on how to move the slider to off?

  • Disable Realtec in Device Manager

:robothappy:Just to make sure my Realtec onboard should be disabled in Device manager using my Creative Fatality Titanium sound Card.

Your title caught my eye as I'm having soundcard problems. After reinstalling windows XP, I get NO sound at all from my PC. When I check my Device Manager, Realtek is loaded and registered by all the necessary programs, but under Other Devices, there is a Multimedia Audio Controller, and a PCI Simple Communications Controller, both of which are shown as being in conflict. If I disable Realtek, then try to play something with sound, when the error message appears, I get an audio beep, with Realtek enabled, I get nothing.
Does anyone have ANY ideas how to fix this? I've asked a few computer guys I know, they're stumped. I've e-mailed Realtek, Microsoft, and Creative, and no-one is getting back to me (it's been over a week now).
    MANY thanks,
    Mark

  • Is it possible to disable switchable graphics on the g6-2290ca?

So I'm trying to runa game that uses OpenGL which is having the problems associated with the switchable graphics. I've tried updating the BIOS and AMD drivers to no effect and the stickied post about the problem doesn't have my laptop code so I'm out of ideas. I've looked into the BIOS and the dynamic graphics option isn't there so I was wondering if there's a way I can disable it and simply get around all the switchable graphics bull**bleep**?

    Hi Szpak,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion g6-2290ca Notebook and wanting to disable the graphics card. I do not recommend doing this as it could damage your Notebook.

  • Question regarding G510 and switchable graphic cards

So as I have mentioned in another post, my machine is the G510 with i5 cpu, 4 gigs of ram, HD4500 integrated video card and 2GB HD8570M dedicated video card.
My question is the following> Ok, the whole switchable thing is nice and all, but I'm having some issues with games recognizing my dedicated card, even if I put them on high performance through the switchable program by AMD. Is there a way to deactivate the integrated card once and for all and only use the dedicated one? What I have done right now is simply uninstall the intel graphics drivers, and disable the integrated device from the device manager. I have currently installed the AMD drivers from the AMD website and am about to restart my pc to see if it is working. If not, please feel free to give me any advice on how to do this or feel free to give me an answer to my question.

cat /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch should tell you wich one is powered. Do not forget to restart X whenever you switch cards.
