B75MA-P33 3 beeps 3 times on boot

Hi!
I've just build my new computer (first time building a computer) and it's beeping when powered on. It makes 3 beeps 3 times. According to forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/bios-beep-codes it's "reserved", what does this mean? What could be wrong? Someone would help me out?
Thanks!
Santiago.-
Details: i5 3450, 2x4 GB RAM

Once you verify your system is running fine, (over a period of 2 months or so) you can pull the speaker plug from your motherboard. That way you don't have to hear any annoying beeps. Just be sure to verify the PC is running really well.

  • MacBook Pro will sometimes beep 3 times on boot

This problem started in late January and continues till now. The first time I took it to the Genius Bar the employee opened the back and repositioned the RAM. ( the laptop would sometimes beep 3 times on boot so he thought it was a ram problem). This made it work for about a day then it started crashing again. The second time I went to the Genius Bar the employee erased all my data, with my consent, and restored the makbook to factory settings. This did not help either as the laptop won't even let me use photo booth without crashing. I used to not power off my laptop and let it run in sleep mode for long periods of time. Also I move around with it a lot. What could be causing this issue and how much do you think I will have to pay to get my MacBook Pro fixed. It's a late 2011 model running mavericks and the latest updates. I do not have apple care and the laptop is out of warranty.
I am running osx mavericks. Never spilled anything on it. Have 4 gigs of ram.
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

In addition to BobRZ's advice, try each module in each bay.  In rare occasions that is the problem, not the RAM.
Also download from Kelly Computing, Rember and run it overnight or longer.  It is a good test to determine if you have faulty RAM or not.

  • G4 mini: RAM 512 beeps 3 times, 1 GB beeps one time - No boot :(

OK, so my little G4 mini had 512 of RAM. I bought a 1GB DDR 333 PC 2700 2100 stick, which should be correct, right?
Well, upon installing, I get a single long beep and the front light flashes three times. I figure, badly seated RAM; try again. No solution there
Went back to the 512. Now it beeps three times and the light flashes four times! :((
OK, "maybe I destroyed something in the process?... Let's try going back to the 1GB" Same as the first time; one beep.
Go back to the 512; three beeps.
Anyone can help me figure this one out? If you need more details please just ask! Thank you in advance.

I read the Apple guides and it look like for after 1999 models:
    1 beep = no RAM
3 beeps = RAM did not pass self test
Well, after many changes the 512 started working again, so I don't know what the problems is/was or how to solve it. I'll stay with 512 for now, I guess

  • GF615M-P33 - 3 beeps and it wont boot (black screen)

Moved to https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=133091.0 with more information
    Thanks

    Hi there!
My computer broke down a couple of week's ago and i have been using my laptop meanwhile.
Now i finally got some new parts to my computer.
    So the current computer:
    AMD Athlon X2 250, 3,0 ghz, AM3, 2MB, 65W
    MSI GF615M-P33, Socket-AM3, m-ATX, GeForce 6150se, DDR3, SATA II, GbLAN, PCI-Ex16
    Sahpire Radeon HD 4670 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express 2.0, DVI-I, native-HDMI, HDCP, Lite-Retail
    Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 4GB, CL9, Kit w/two Matched ValueRAM 2GB DDR3
    Samsung HD501LJ, 500GB, 7200rpm, 16M
Windows XP Pro 32 bit, right now, will upgrade later to Windows 7 Ultimate.
    Huntkey Delcato PSU-422 450W DC Output: "+5V=35A(RED), 12V1=15A(YELLOW), +3.3V=30A(ORANGE), +12V2=17A(YELLOWBLACK), -12V=0.5A(BLUE), +5Vsb=2.0A(PURPLE), PG(GREY)
So the problem is that when i inserted all of my components and then just went to boot it, it gave me 3 beeps and a black screen.
My flatmate has the same motherboard and i tried the RAM, CPU and Video card on it, and it worked fine with one beep and i got a screen and came to BIOS.
I tried his RAM, CPU and Video Card on my motherboard and it still gave me 3 beeps and no screen.
So i have no clue how to troubleshoot anymore.
Tell me if you need anymore information
    Please help me!
    Thanks in advance!!

  • MacBook Pro 8,1 beeps 3 times on boot from FireWire drive: why?

    Hi, all,
about the brand spanking new 13" I bought, I immediately wanted to boot the FireWire drive so I could install Snow Leopard. Install disk image was copied to a dedicated partition on the FW drive to speed up install process.
Holding the [alt] key during startup leads to 3 beeps that are indefinitely repeated. I also tried to select the relevant partition in the Control Panel Startup Disk. Same result
Why doesn't it want to start from this image? How can I solve this issue?

In fact, it is a late 2011, not an early 2011 "New Old Stock", so you're correct it shipped with Lion. But, aside from its weird ergonomics (Dynamically-attributed spaces and different gestures from the previous OS X versions), what turned me off was the official complete impossibility to get a physical copy of Lion at a reasonable price, when it is installed. I also wanted the mounted drives to appear at the top left corner in Finder windows, as they did in pre-Lion OS X, instead of the bottom left. I wanted to put back the Firefox profiles in their place... Turns out the Library folder isn't visible in Lion.
Simply put, anything I wanted to do to start on the good foot wasn't possible on Lion.
I went to the Genius Bar, and indeed their own external rescue drive also made the Mac beep. I told them about the Snow Leopard tethered downgrade. They were aware of the method, but there was no Snow Leopard Mac remaining in-store. And with the install DVD causing kernel panics, there was no way to at least try a dual-boot installation (Snow Leopard for mission-critical apps, Lion for playing around with).
To another Apple-approved place I went. The young tech here was willing to perform the downgrade (since it would have cost me $75/hr), and had both Snow Leopard and Lion machines. But I argued that I wouldn't be willing to pay twice since I intend to switch to SSD in a short while. He then tested when booted from a clone, and Snow Leo half-installed on the internal drive (needs one reboot during installation), but it ended up in kernel panic. Same went when he tried the physical Snow Leopard disk after formatting the internal drive, hypothesizing something detected on it may prevent Snow Leopard installer to boot. It immediately went into a kernel panic.
Both techs were actually surprised that this signal came out, instead of a message stating (official) incompatibility, as well as kernel panics.
My hypothesis is there's something in the Snow Leopard installer that accesses the hardware at a lower level during installation, but not during normal execution or Target Mode, hence causing kernel panics in the former.
What else can be tried, or what else didn't go through my mind?

I bought 8gb DDR3 1066 mhz to install on my MBP 2010 and it beeps three times during boot and wont boot. I looked at other threads and it seems like no one has found an answer. It looks brand new with no obious problems.

  • My HP Pavilion DV7 wont boot up it beeps three times and blinks 1 time

I have been having problems with my HP Pavilion DV7 for the last several months. When I turn it on I get a black screen. It will beep three times and the caps LED will blink one time. When this first started happening I would turn it off and try to turn it on again. Sometimes it would take turning it off and on several times before it would boot up. Now it will not boot up at all. It just does the same thing every time. When I turn the power on I can hear the fan and the beeps and see the light blink but that is all. I have even tried to turn it on in safe mode but still get the same results.

    Hi there @texashunter00
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that your notebook is having trouble booting up properly, and that you are getting a beep/LED code. I am happy to assist you with this.
Assuming the flashing code is a repeating  single flash that would indicate a cpu problem. The beeps are commonly indicating a problem with the RAM. Please see the following, and if necessary reseat the memory cards, and see if the problem remains.
Computer does not start and the LEDs blink or the computer beeps
If after checking through this, you are still having the same beep/led codes, I would recommend you call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • IMac continuously beeps three times when FireWire HDD is attached

    Hi there,
Whenever I reboot my iMac while my external FireWire HDD is attached to it, it continuously beeps three times in a row. I detach it, and restart the iMac, and voila, it boots again!
Any ideas why it can't boot while my FireWire HDD is attached to it? It doesn't seem to be a RAM issue as is specified here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2674?viewlocale=en_US

It could be a firmware issue with the firewire drive.

  • W520 beeps 4 times every two minutes

This morning I started up my computer from its sleeping mode, and it beeped four times. It keeps on happening consistently every two minutes.
Basically, it does this, within two seconds:
    beepbeep...beepbeep...beepbeep...beepbeep
It is incredibly annoying, and searching on the Internet has proved fruitless. I am able to all functions normally, except listen to sound because it overlays any other sound. I don't know what it means. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.

    TrimHopp,
    Welcome to the Support Forums
What is your exact machine type of W520? what operating system it is running? The machine type can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the unit. Any recent changes to the computer?
When you boot into BIOS does the machine still make the beeping noise?

  • Three 3 Beeps after long resume, boots into OSX just fine. RAM Issue?

    Hi everyone,
After about a year or so of experimenting with Hackintoshs with the OSX86 community (MSi Wind and Dell E1405) and an enjoyable experience with my iPhone, I've decided to pick up my first Mac. I ended up with the newer Macbook 2.4ghz. As a veterened PC user who had no problems with Windows, I find OSX to be very user friendly, so this computer has been very enjoyable indeed.
I went ahead and upgraded it to a 500GB HDD and 4GB of DDR3 RAM as soon as I got it, and by this, I mean, I booted it up to ensure it worked, then shut it down, and added the new parts.
I don't remember if this happened on the first bootup when OEM spec, but now, whenever the computer has been asleep for a long time (after I get up in the morning, or when I get back from work), I hear three or so short beeps right before the DVD scanning for a disc. I believe this also happens if the computer has been turned off a while. If I restart or shutdown for a "short period" it does not happen.
I did some research online, and most people say the RAM has a problem, but they all never boot or have major issues.
My MacBook boots, detects the proper amount of System Memory in "About this Mac", and looks to be just fine in System Profiler. I also ran the Apple Hardware Test, and it passed without issue. The MacBook has no functionality issues that most people contribute to bad memory (reboots, funny screens). Basically, if it didn't beep 3 times, I wouldn't have thought anything could be wrong. The only other issue I have is that it doesn't turn on the laptop's display when resuming from sleep (which is very annoying), something others are reporting as well.
The DDR3 I got is OCZ Brand. A silly name, but reputable brand. It looks to use the same brand Micron chips as the OEM Apple. A link to the Memory I purchased is here - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CNR39U
Does anyone have any insight into what could be causing the MacBook to beep 3 times whenever I boot up after a long time of sleep/off?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

Sounds like faulty RAM. Get 'em replaced. I tend to trust Kingston and/or Patriot for my memory needs.
If that doesn't work, then try popping in the stock RAM. If those work, then we know the RAM you replaced is still faulty. Keep retrying. If the stock RAM still beeps, send the machine in for repairs.
Btw, a running joke between my friends, we call OCZ ... OverClockZors =P.

  • Macbook Pro beeping 3 times

    Macbook is behaving erratically.
Most of the time it beeps 3 times, I have tried re-seating the ram, and switching it around. Keeps doing the same thing.
Occasionally I have actually got it to boot into the OS, after a period of time it just restarts.
I have also tried reformatting the HD, seem to work and booted into the OS and then the same problems started up again.
I have also got this screen shot:

I have also tried resetting the PRAM

  • My presario is beeping 14 times when trying to upgrade ram.

I have a compaz presario CQ62z-200.  I bought 2x4 gig 204 pin SODIMM ddr3 pc3 from Crucial.  I took the bottom plate off and replaced the ram. However when I booted it is now beeping 14 times.  I tried to install the previous ram however still beeping. Can anyone please tell me what Im doing wrong. Ive looked up beeps for this laptop bu found nothing.

if there are two sticks then one is beneath the other is on top.  Make sure to install a matching pair.
did you hear them click into place?
are you sure you have the correct ram speed?

  • IMac beeps 3 times at startup

Imac beeps 3 times at startup, the original ram was put back into the ram slots, but it still beeps 3 times, how do I fix this

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1547
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
Your RAM is bad.  Make sure you push the RAM firmly until you hear a snap.  If that still does not work, you need to purchase new RAM.

  • When my macbook beeps 3 times

Ny macbook boots up & wrks for all of an half hour . Them it starts to beep 3 times with a brief pause after the 3 beeps . I tried everything with the RAM & it still does it !! Could it be the battery ??

3 beeps indicates a bad RAM module, though you would expect to hear that at start up, not after thirty minutes of functioning fine.
I tried everything with the RAM &amp
Can you explain this further? Also, what are the exact specifications of your Macbook/MBP? Apple Logo > About this Mac > More Info..
