Baby spit up on iPhone

I was playing some white noise for my daughter with my phone when she suddenly spit up everywhere. She got some in the headphone jack on the phone, and the white noise immediately stopped even though the app said it was still going. I cleaned the hole out with some q-tips but it still wouldn't play, so I stuck it in a baggie with some rice to hopefully draw the moisture out which is where it is now. Any other tips to hopefully get it working? I'm concerned that the speaking function won't work (for phone calls) if I can't fix this. Thanks.

Almost same thing happened to me. Mail app froze so i restored. Everything came back except apps. All apps show up in I-tunes when i connect phone but icons are missing on some. I-tunes says to drag apps over to phone which i did but they don't "stick" and won't sync. They're all checked for sync. Interesting, i can move the basic apps around using the I-tunes app tab and that works when i apply - but NONE of my purchased apps move back to my phone.
The more i research this, the more i think this is a software bug in the new software version for the 3G phone. SOMEBODY HELP!!

  • IPhone Video - even a 17 months old baby can handle it

Apple products are well known for their easy handling and their user friendliness.
This video (created on iMovie of course) shows that even a 17 months old baby can unlock the iPhone, start a song, scroll through pictures... enjoy!

I wish all of you Merry Christmas and a good start into 2010.
    Best regards.

Sorry, but your warranty is just that, and what you would need is an insurance policy.  Warranties typically do not cover loss, theft or accidental breakage, at least not unless bundled with a "protection" package or deal.
Ask your parents though if their homeowners policy might cover it?
Oh, and the only way to track it was if you had already enabled the track my iPhone option with your iCloud account settings before it was stolen.  And to track it, it would need to be on a network connection, either wifi or 3G.

  • Is there a flash drive for the iPhone 5 so I can share

Is there a flash drive for the iPhone 5 that I can plug into my phone, copy all of the hundreds of photos and videos I've taken of my baby nephew using the iPhone camera to, and then pull out so I can just give the drive to my sister? Downloading/transferring all those photos and videos to my computer, then emailing or sorting and burning them to a disc would take FOREVER. The photos and videos of the baby are all mixed in with my personal photos and videos I've taken and sorting them out would be a nightmare. Plus, I want the original photos and videos to remain on my camera even after I copy them for my sister. Any help/ideas would be most appreciated!

    Hi Allan,
    Thank you for responding.
One clarification: I agree that the iPhone is not for long-term photo storage and I'm not looking to use it that way. What I'm looking for is a quick and easy way for me to get the photos/videos of my nephew to my sister so SHE can store them long-term. (Then I can delete all but a few of them and transfer them to my computer for storage pretty quickly and easily). The way I know to get all those photos/videos to her would take a very long time (which I don't have) and would require a lot of time sorting (which I don't have time to do either). Please don't suggest I pare down the photos and videos for her. This baby is a miracle baby and the Mom needs to get all the photos and videos. Understand where I'm coming from?
Regarding not keeping any favorite photos/videos on an iPhone: It seems normal to have some favorite photos and videos remain on an iPhone, kind of like a "Grandma's brag book" of most beloved photos. Even the most no-nonsense person might have 20-30 photos of someone or something they love, so they can share them with interested people or peruse them when they want to feel connected or be grounded.
I can't be the only person dealing with this issue/needing this type of hardware. Opportunities and need for photo sharing abound. If nothing else, it seems like an easy way for Apple to make a whole lot of extra money while making a whole lot of consumers very, very happy.
Any advice? Again, thanks very much.

  • MY 8 month old might have corrupted my ipod.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 8 month old son corroded my USB cable by chewing on the ipod connector. Not realizing this, I come in, plug in my ipod, and get an error that the USB cable is corrupted. I unplug ipod and look at the cable. The part that goes into the ipod is green and crusty...definitely corroded. SO, i go buy a new cable: Dynex dock cable from Best Buy. Just plugged it in, and nothing happened, except my pc is charging my ipod. But no communication from the computer to the ipod. Nothing in windows, or itunes. My ipod still works fine in any other playback dock, it just doesn't allow data transfers from pc to ipod. HELP!!! Is my ipod f'd???????

If you dare you could try cleaning the connector on the ipod - I would try some denatured alcohol on a tiny bit of clean cloth over the end of a really small screwdriver or knife. Carefully wipe both sides of the male connector blade that you can see in the connector port.
You could also try simply plugging /unplugging the cable many times - the wiping action may clean the crud off. Blow on the connectors or use compressed air while you are doing it for good measure.
If you are near an Apple store you could take it to them and have them try it with an Apple brand cable - that may have a better chance of making good contact.
Good luck. I knew baby spit was nasty but I didn't think it was actually corrosive!

  • Who is still waiting for their iPhone4S?

I got stuck with the "ships 1-2 weeks" and currently have "preparing for shipment" as the status of the phone. Just wondering if anybody else was in the same situation.

    Hey folks
Not all is lost!: the iPhone 4S comes in it's itsy bitsy small box with "Finger Tips" : a very meager summary of the 4S.
Choose to be informed and make intelligent decsions on the the use of your soon to come "baby": read the new iphone user's guide just released by apple. Go to support on the apple .com site and manuals. and you'll find the 162 page pdf ( yes virginia 162 pages) as the first  selection...and it's like a real baby with questions like "when will it arrive"
Life is a series of choices...choose to be well informed!! and enjoy a long life with your "baby" 4S
    Let'er rip and...
    cheers...

  • OK, this is going to sound strange to some and ring true to others!

I think Ive got baby dribble in my iPhone4!  It now wont turn on, charge or anything.  All I have is a black screen .  Is there any way I can fix this or will it dry out itself if left?

Since you've keep it on while the baby spit was working its way through it (electricity and baby spit don't mix) it has probably gotten under the screen and is shorting out the battery. Skip the rice, make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and bring $149+tax USD.
If it happens again in the future, quickly turn the phone off, DO NOT connect it to power, wipe it off, put it in a baggie with raw rice and leave it for 4 - 5 days.

  • DVD problems with G5 - please help!

    Hey there,
I'm using the OSx 10.4 on a G5 Powermac, with the internal DVD burner DVD RW DW-U21A.
I've been writing happily with 8x discs but now I've been trying to use faster discs like the 16x (of various brands and costs!) and the Mac just spits them out. What can I do? Do I need to download a new driver or something?
    Thanks for all your help!
    Best
    Richard

    Hi-
Better stick with the slower disks. Like a baby spitting out mashed peas, your Mac doesn't like the media....actually, there are claims that the OS X burn engine is also a problem, but I think it has more to do with that particular drive. There have been numerous reports of that drive, and burn problems. At least you are able to burn- Stick with what works.
One thing that may help you- you can try the Patchburn utility. It may help with burning support. other than that, there are no firmware updates for your drive.

Pictures are designed to be copied off the device regularly as would be done with any digital camera.  There is no logical reason why anyone would fail to do this with supposedly important pictures.
If a recent backup exists, it is also possible to restore the device from the most recent backup, this may restore pictures to the device.  If it does, COPY THEM OFF THE DEVICE IMMEDIATELY for safekeeping.

My iTunes Match automatically charged me for a second year when the first year finished.  In spite of that, I have lost all of my playlists on my iPhone.  How can I get them back?

    Hi,
No need to post three times!
Is iTunes Match still turned on on your iPhone? If not, you need to turn it back on.
If it is still on, go to settings, music app and turn off match- sign out of iTunes Store. Reboot iPhone, sign back into iTunes and turn on match. Poem music app. Does this help?

  • I have the Iphone 4s.  If I try to download the iOS 7, will this affect any of the apps I already have.  (I have an app with a lot of my baby's information that I don't want to lose)

I have the Iphone 4s.  If I try to download the iOS 7, will this affect any of the apps I already have.  (I have an app with a lot of my baby's information that I don't want to lose).  Or is iOS 8 better to download?

    anypats wrote:
My biggest suggestion would be to check and make sure that the app works with iOS 8. If their app is not compatible, then there is a possibility that the app will crash every time you open it or some other way that makes the app unusable and then you would be unable to access that data. As long as the app is compatible with iOS 8 then updating your OS shouldn't cause you to lose any of the information within the app. As others are suggested, make sure you have a backup but just note that once you update to iOS 8 you cannot revert back to an older version. Find out if your app has any way to export the information to another format that you can save and access via a computer before updating.
And what app have you seen that works in iOS 7 that doesn't work in iOS 8?

  • Baby Monitor - view live streaming video on iPhone

I am in search of a webcam (to use as a baby monitor) that I can use with my iPhone to view live streaming video from...
Can someone please recommend a webcam (ideally with a low-light setting, because babies like to sleep in the dark;) and a capable app from the app store that would help me achieve this?
    Thanks!

That is going to be a very custom app. I really doubt it will be in the app store. I understand the idea. I have a monitor myself that has video. I would have to hook up that video monitor to an input device on a computer networked in the home. For me this would entail video monitor output to a camcorder to firewire to imac. could get quite complicated. Even doing this much could encounter problems like each interface having to be set up correctly. once that is done, you might be able to use the bonjour networking to get from iphone to imac. all of this is hypothetical though. interesting scenario though
