Back and forward toolbar arrows. Safari,yosemite,8.3

I can not drag my back and forward arrows from the customize toolbar bar dialog box onto my toolbar. The zoom buttons i could move ,i tried starting up in safe mode,no luck, tried moving  everything  into default settings, no luck, went to library preferences to find com.apple safari plist to drag it to the desk top, no luck, it wasn't there. So using safari as a browser is getting annoying, i have to reload the page every time. There must be some one out there to help me.                                                                           Thank you

Hi
in Safari, click the View Menu then choose the 'Customize address bar...' command.
you can drag the default set back in, if that suits you, or pick only which ones you want. while the customize window is open you can also drag the toolbar icons around to change their positions, and drag any you don't want out of the toolbar - they'll vanish with a cute little puff of smoke.

  • TS3366 iOS 7: Back and Forward Gesture in Safari and Mail conflicts with Panning Gesture

Back and Forward Gesture in Safari and Mail is different than the back and forward gesture used to swipe between Home screens.  The simple swipe with the thumb straight does not work in Safari and Mail, it conflicts with the Panning gesture.  It should be relatively easy to improve the algorithm to allow for that gesture to work.

Indeed, swiping back from pdf pages sometimes works, but most often does not.
It seems that the swiping gesture has in all cases changed slightly. It is now necessary to swipe a little until a portion of the previous page is uncovered, and only then can one swipe back.
The fact that there is a specific way to swipe back from html pages suggests that there might be an equally specific way to swipe back from pdf pages. I am still experimenting. Meanwhile make sure no one is sitting to your right in case your trackpad flies off during a gesture trial.

  • How do I change the color of the back and forward arrow to green

In Windows 7 the color of the back and forward page arrow is blue.
On my desktop computer using Windows XP the color of the back and forward page arrow is green. This is much easier on my eyes.
Is there a way to change the color to green in Windows 7?

Firefox on Windows XP uses a different default theme than Firefox on Vista & 7. Try using the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7119/ XP on Vista] theme, this should replicate the XP theme on Windows 7.

  • Back and forward arrows vanished.

I just opened Safari and for what ever reason the back and forward arrows next to the refresh button are not there and I cannot find a setting or something to switch them back on. I didn't turn them off (if thats possible), so how did it happen? How can I fix it and keep it from happening again?

    Hello,
In Safari, your Toolbar can be customized to your desire. It sounds like you by mistake removed the Back/Forward button or it is possible that the preference file is somehow corrupted. Anyway, by holding down the control key, you can individually remove an item from the toolbar. So, I assume that is how it was removed. To add the Back/Forward button, open "Customize Address Bar" via the View drop-down menu. Simply drag the arrows onto your toolbar in the location of your choice and press "Done". When you quit Safari and relaunch, the Back/Forward button should still be present. If it does not stay on the bar, do let me know. I hope this helps!

  • Safari 2.0.3 - Back and Forward buttons disappeared

The Back and Forward buttons that are normally found next to the address bar have vanished. If you move the mouse over their position and click they show and activate, but is just a blank space when mouse pointer is not there. Have tried reloading them from the toolbar preferences, but the icons dont appear there either, just the space where theyshould be.

    Stephen,
Quit Safari, find the com.apple.Safari.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder, drag it to the Desktop, and log in/out or restart and let us know what happens.

  • Why are the Back and Forward arrows gone?

In Firefox 4 the most irritating change is getting rid of the buttons for Back and Forward. Others have complained, correctly I think, about the Refresh/Reload icon gone, the Stop button gone. But I really MISS the arrows. I also didn't like having text and icons together in the menu bar, but I figured out how to change them.
So... How do I get rid of the words Back and Forward and get the arrow buttons back?

If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

  • Safari "Back" and "Forward" buttons

Anyone else having this same issue? On Safari in the new iPhone 3.0 software update, my "back" and "forward" arrows are missing. As a result, I cannot simply just go back to a webpage I was reading, I have to manually type it in again.

Yes, though my buttons are not missing, they are always greyed out. Also have problems with icons for new apps loaded since I installed 3.0 - text is correct but the icon image related to a different app and is also greayed out. Still looking for a fix.......

    *Right-click empty toolbar area
Use Toolbar Layout (Customize) to open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.

  • Does not open default site.Needs retry in favorites. Back and forward arrows do not work

Facebook is the defaulkt address but, when I open Firefox thw scrren is blank (bar are present, though). This happens after last review
In addition, back and forward arrows do not work (this has always happened since Firefox 4 beta)

    * First to prevent interferences between current and Beta versions, use a specific [[Managing profiles|profile]] for Firefox 4.0 Beta. In your new Beta profile, you can recover all your customizations from your 3.6 profile. See [[Recovering important data from an old profile]].
    * Then, if it is not fixed, see [[Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing]].

    * In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
    * Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
    * Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • New Firefox page does not have back and forward arrows, refresh or stop features on it.

I used to have a back and forward arrow, an X to stop something and a refresh sign on the second line at the top of the screen and box with the link I was on shown so you could copy and paste it. Those features are no longer there.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

Did you reset the '''general.useragent''' prefs on the '''about:config''' page?
You can open the ''about:config'' page via the location bar, just like you open a website.
    Filter: '''general.useragent'''
If any ''general.useragent'' prefs are bold (user set) then right-click that pref and choose ''Reset''.
    * If, on Windows, in Firefox 3.6 the menu bar is hidden then press and hold the Alt key down or press F10, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear
    * Go to "View > Toolbars" and check-mark "Menu Bar" with a click on it to make that permanent. See [[Menu bar is missing]]).
    * Make sure that you have the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then see if you can find them in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window
    * If you see the item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window to one of the toolbars.
    * If, in "View > Toolbars > Customize", you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button

  • How can I make appear the arrow-button that showed the recent history of a same tab (next to back and forward buttons)?

for instance, if I searched a word on google, then clicked on a certain page of the results, then inside that page I entered a link, etc if I wanted to "go back" directly to the instance of google searching I could click on this arrow-button and I would be able to choose that exact moment instead of clicking several times on the "back" till I reached the desired past page

The arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
Use one of these methods to open the tab history list:
    * Right click on the Back or Forward button
    * Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens
You can look at this extension:
